Whoohoo here we are 1 week into flower, girls got some Fire Juice, microbial feeding and Molasses. Humidity is sky heigh due to the canopy leaves surface?? Usually I defoliate from day 15-21, any greener have experience with defoliating slowly from day 7, need to get humidity down? Pics x 2 each 1. Greenhouses and tunnels have their place and provide a grower with many advantages. Protection from elements-100km/h winds aren't funny. Wild fauna- vervets, rodents and insects. Monkeys cause serious damage. Improved conditions in winter for perpetual growing. Some greenhouses and tunnels are not constructed with our ''climate'' in mind, so you may need to modify/diy. Built in vents are good but sometimes not enough. A decent oscillating fan will help a lot. My tunnel worked beautifully in winter with the lower RH. It increased temps to such a degree that I could germ and veg comfortably right through winter. In summer it gets a bit too warm and active airflow/ventilation is neccesary too avoid problems. Mostly positives for me but it depends on the each growers conditions. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk4 points

Ok. I wave read the thread, the flood light 150w will veg your area okish. It’s not the same as a real grown llight. 2-3k is about as little as u will need for something decent to get some bud. Remember after 3 months of growing, u want to have at least a bit of bud to carry you through. have a chat to me. Let’s see how we can help u get there4 points

So I was doing some rough maths regarding how much I have spent on my grow equipment. Just equipment, not the actual running costs like electricity, nutes, coco and also not including seeds). This got me thinking, how much does your grow equipment cost? The names will not be publicly displayed, so you can vote with confidence as I understand this could be a touchy subject if everyone could see the names of the voters.3 points

Money well spent... even the school fees we've all had to pay.3 points

Yes, very true... This is probably one of those instances where if something happens to you, you hope your wife / partner does not sell everything for what you told her you paid for it. haha3 points

Morning Bud. Have you checked out @Master_G and @growopz. I got super confused with all the options when researching lights. With guidance from the Peep's on the forum I ended up going the Growopz route and happy. Told the poor dude my grow space, what I had and my lousy budget and that I was considering diy. Soon got talked out of that. I now have a light that I can add onto as the budget allows. Good luck on your search. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk2 points

Just an update @afternoon blazer been 2 weeks now. These lights are performing well bud. got them 35cm away from the plants, recently cleaned some of the ladies, hoping to start training in the coming week. Giving some of the little babies away, if you in CPT hit me up a PM.2 points

I use a 45l/min pump and does the job well for an airlift brewer in a 25L bucket. There is a way to check whether your flow rate coming out the pipe is good enough for sufficient aeration and mine passed the test quite easily... This video will give you a better idea of the flow rate2 points

Howzit all. Just a small midweek update. Shes in flowering this week. Week 4 day 26 Shes a short girl. Just about 30cm tall. @Naughty.Psychonaut there u go bro.2 points

A few problems I have with it. Those penalties are ridiculous. They are still quite happy to criminalize people for a plant. The fact that they want to regulate and prescribe what my privacy should look like....then it's not privacy anymore. Long story short. There is still a lot of activism ahead of us.2 points

Let’s keep track of my proper bonsai attempt. Last run stayed small with my lights, so just going full out this time bend them while they are young hey?1 point

Waddup bro.. Okay, I'm sure everyone has a lot of advice for you, but first let's work on what you need to know. For 6 weeks, I would say that's just below average size for an untrained tree... Could've been bigger with more light, don't beat yourself up over it, other things make a difference as well. As to whether they're female, take pics of the to-be bud site, not where the fan leaf meets the main stem... We need to look for pistils or sacs at this point, not really preflowers - since they're 6 weeks old, they're most likely mature already. If those were mine, I would consider topping them once, using some LST, then veg for another week or slightly more and initiate flowering after that. Reason being to control height and get more than 3 main colas from 3 trees. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk1 point

Lekker topic!! According to other growers I spend to much, but according to me I'm not [emoji23] I read up ALOT before I started buying and I have build up experience through the years with various different project that Eazi or cheap ends up being more expensive. Soo I saved and saved till I could afford QB's, then I made a small loan to get a proper growing inviorment going and all the hyped up synthetic bottled nutes to grow in coco/perlite and I'm not dishing it. I set the bar low and got the results I wanted. Did a few of those grows and got fed up with the the time spending mixing nutes properly, mixing then ph then wait the adjusting and then so on. Hooked up with a a member here for exchanging clones and he was growing in Living soil ( I thought everything was alive anyway) so I read and read and did research and ended up buying proper soil ( cost R-20-40 more than FF Classic) and did a few full grows with only water and Fire Juice, by this time I raised the bar a little and I got desired results. I am in the prosess of making my own compost for end of year or next year and then I can start mixing and see how that goes. Lights are paid of and still in good condition and I have dailed my grows in to achieve minimum of 1,1g/w and 450g/sq/m. Its not high but I'm happy for now. Soooo spending R300-350 per 25L pot per 90-110g plant is not alot for me, spending way less time watering also. Yeah so a proper start up can cost alot but worth it after some time. Read read read and ask questions, even dum questions Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk1 point

Hi guys....just an update on my grow. Things seem to go slow..... Big plant is flowering currently. Also switched to HPS light for her....also trimed away some of the big leaves. Must i trim more? My one clone from the mother plant seems to be growing, atleast 50% success rate. But also must say used different sections to see what will work. Does everything look good. Or any tips or something i must change?1 point

Wasted a lot of money first. Someone sold me dreams. I was stupid enough to listen. But glad I did because I ended up finding my passion... haaaaa gayyy!1 point

@PsyCLown Well, my grams per watt is 0.8 and this is under a cheap blurple. Not too far from 1g, which would make me happy, but just seeing people achieve bigger yields and investing much less is what gets to me. You can call it organic, yes. I could defs do better with my AACT brews next run and will also have a bar LED with samsung diodes. My previous grow was organic with the adding of a synthetic nute here and there.1 point
-
Well, this sure makes me feel a bit better about the amount I'm at. I guess it also depends on your yields and such, efficiency of the grow. I have a friend that spent probably half of what I have and pulls harvests double the size of mine. He got lots of second hand items and his setup is bare and simple, only the essentials. He knows what he's doing and is just all around more knowledgable on these things and I also strongly believe the GrowGods bless him favourably. So much so that it kinda pisses me off at times! This guy can pull fucking top notch buds from a "swazi" bag seed grown in river sand middle of the winter (quite drastic exaggeration for dramaric effect) while I'm paying through the nose to get the right soil, right pots, right everything and then still face the everyday problems such as ph stress and deficiencies of all kinds. Anyway, nice to see I am not spending "too much"1 point

I drilled the small holes into the 25mm only where it is inside the 50mm, creating finer bubbles that airates the water more Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk1 point

Cool thanks, I'll give it a try with 32mm. Looking forward to my first brew and to see what it does to my plants!1 point

Hi, airlift is amazing concept. I tried a proto tipe yesterday that's way smaller than the one I used in my Aquaponics system. 50mm T piece and 25mm pipe with tiny holes, 50mm-25mm reducers on all 3 holes. Airpump is 300L/hr = 5L/Min, not enough but it worked fine for now Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk1 point

Agreed. I see your point@CreX To an extent then you have to ''tailor'' the build around how much airflow you have as it's the deciding factor. Built one a while back, but found that the aquarium airpump-45lt/m (what I had on hand) didnt do the job imo, even when I reduced my piping dia from 50mm to 25mm. Don't think aqarium airpump are up to the job. For it to work properly you need a lot of airflow as you mentioned. Sent from my SM-G900F using Tapatalk1 point

I need to upgrade my vortex brewer soon... Im using 25mm piping and with max air pressure it feels like there's a jet of tea coming out the top at the exit haha. Definitely a smaller tube would do this... And a larger tube would potentially be able to push higher volumes, at lower pressure if you could even call it pressure.. Not sure I would personally go 40mm. Might find a happy meduim at 32mm IMHO.1 point

Thanks bro. Its been really smooth sailing on this grow. Touching some wood. Never gave me a single issue. Shes been doing all the work.1 point

Lol, I have the 50 watt version, it works but not good enough........ maybe as additional supplemental lighting ,but at that price they are smoking crack, with that 2k you can def get something that will work 100% better, stay far away from this junk !1 point

Please don’t buy that Chinese cob thing. You would have thrown money in the water. I can supply you with something better for very little more.1 point

Ooooh, I remember you telling me about the one you carried outside everyday? 24°C is a good temp my dude and how big is the space?1 point

Thanks @420SA, for pointing into the right direction. I appreciate it!1 point

I was gonna chime in with the adjusting but@growopz is already here. I'm sure they'd be able to help a bit more 'efficiently'... Lol.. See what I did there Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk1 point

The bigger tree is gonna take over a lot of the space when stretching... Don't feel bad to remove some bud sites if it gets too crowded... You could get some practice at cloning as well. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk1 point

@afternoon blazer Hi bud, Yeah, this 50w is blowing my mind. These ladies are all in 10L pots and I'm fast approaching them becoming rootbound. They have already filled up the grow space aswell, but as planned I will have them moving into the bigger space for flower and they'll be getting 20L pots by then.1 point

Happy Thursday [emoji23][emoji48] Girls are behaving super green and only got time to start turning them into woman today, I had to many plants still vegging and could not switch the weekend. Now it looks like I'm going to run out of height with only 90cm from scrog to max light hight, but we will tug while we still can. I had some space left in the scrog and managed to lift a pot with a crate and squeezed it into the corner. Girls got Fire Juice feeding, 2 days later a Moong Bean SST and today a Microbial feeding. GSC, OKC and Cookies and Cream all behaving simular, the new pot has a Raspberry Diesel in. Lots of defoliation to do and il start slowly the weekend to clean up under the net. Hope you enjoy Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk1 point

What up 420 Fam. Just a small update to keep the Diary going. So the Banana Monkey i germinated got potted on Sunday Morning(12-07-20). With the seed cracked open. Into the root plug and final pot. Sadly still nothing has broken through the soil. So just gona let it chill out for a while. During the week. I was feeling abit irratated. So i germed another auto. SWEET TOOTH. Tuesday (14-07-20) Seed felt better for some reason. Anyway. Same story shot glass. This time i did 24 hours. Then paper towel and plastic bag for 18 hours. Temps about 28/29 degrees. Awsome 15mm taproot shown this morning and she got potted. Put on a humidity dome. And popped her into the grow box. Lets hope its smooth sailing for now.1 point
