  1. So the ladies are into the new tent. Mammoth 2.4x2.4 thanks to @GGG. Struggling to get all the spacing sorted but will get there. Still trimming the.last ones. Final weights not what I wanted. The old fabric pots dry out way to fast. May need to do multiple waterings a day. But for now i have wrapped the fabric pots in cling film to prevent them from drying out to quickly. Lets see what happens.

  2. Started a little FPJ cocktail on Wednesday, some Dandelion, Nasturtium, raw Aloe Vera, a few clover type leaves, some clover roots and a small uprooted male plant. Chopped it up a bit in a 5l ice cream tub, added roughly a quarter cup of brown sugar and filled it up with rain water. Now I try to stir it once every day for at least 7 days. I tilled the mound over again, added more of my home made compost as well as 10l of perlite for a start. Everything I added up to now is mainly to innoculate the soil with beneficial microbiology, increase carbon, as well as increasing food sources for microbes. Without enough food sources, carbon and air available, microbial populations can not thrive.

  4. Long time but here's my update. It's quite the challenge getting them back with my inexperienced brain. So, i tried epson salts, extra potassium, added a dehumidifier. I flushed best I could and back to step 1 again. Eventually i just gave her the same nutrient mix as at the start. New growth exploded the next 3 says. Unfortunately she was shocked for a long time, me ending up in veg vir 10 weeks [emoji1783]. They're in flowering now and cannot wait to start again after harvest. Thanks all for the guidance. 13. Aweh fellow growers. Thought I'd add onto this existing SST thread, but with a ''How do you do it'' request for the newer members if possible.(feel free to comment) This is my version of a veg SST 1. Germed 25ml Mung and 25ml Red Adzuki beans in a icecream tub on my media player(consistant 24deg C) between moist paper towel layers. 2. Blitzed them in the blender with some molasses untill smooth and frothy. (Think you could add Seagrow/Nitro solution here as well) 3. Diluted and mixed with 15lt rain water for application today. Previous applications went down well, plants seem to respond well. For flower I substitute the Mung beans with Maize/Mielies. What do you do?

  17. Best of luck @EthWal enjoy the grow Not sure which nutrients are best with Freedom Farm soils, if any is needed at all, depends on the type of mix. BioBizz is one of the top nutes available in SA, or if u like salt based check out GHE or Greenhouse feeds. Personally i would just topdress with well aged good quality compost or wormcastings, and and a source of CaMg.

  18. Kill them with kindness, that kinda vibe? Hahahah! I am not the most intelligent, but surely they can be more clear on what exactly is concidered "a flowering plant equivalent", because honestly with the education of our officers these days I wont be suprised if they mistake my mother for being a flowering plant equivalent.

  19. Ya it’s not likely that the police will understand what is allowed and what isn’t but having said that. If everybody abides by the laws and knows their rights. You can be confident and go through absolute hell with them. This is worst case scenario. I would say now more than ever, policing this is like asking nicely. Everybody is growing. And by the looks of it. It’s all illegal. When we can respond, and give our say, I’m sure there will be plenty of guys on this forum who will know as and when the time comes. Then we speak up! But for now, there are ways of getting around it. Just gotta be smart. And be nice to your neighbors. And that’s only if worst case scenario shows up at your doorstep. keep up to date on the news and see what trends are on raids and arrests. Haven't seen any home growers caught in the mix. So I wouldn’t stress bro.

  20. This is where it doesn’t seem as clear cut bro. Im under the impression clones are considered in the area of “seedling and seeds” which you allowed an unlimited amount. That is until they are considered an immature plant. Once they get there, they make up .5 of your total allowance of 4 flowering plants. Leaving you with 3.5 flowering plants left over. The bill seems somewhat lenient but serves to constrict you more than you think

  21. Well i guess for new/beginer growers. This is xmas. But for the large scale growers. Its a problem. But then again. We have start the journey somewhere to get to where we need to go.

  26. Waddup bro.. Okay, I'm sure everyone has a lot of advice for you, but first let's work on what you need to know. For 6 weeks, I would say that's just below average size for an untrained tree... Could've been bigger with more light, don't beat yourself up over it, other things make a difference as well. As to whether they're female, take pics of the to-be bud site, not where the fan leaf meets the main stem... We need to look for pistils or sacs at this point, not really preflowers - since they're 6 weeks old, they're most likely mature already. If those were mine, I would consider topping them once, using some LST, then veg for another week or slightly more and initiate flowering after that. Reason being to control height and get more than 3 main colas from 3 trees. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk

  27. I agree, don't think taste is gona be a difference. I am aware that organic slows things down a bit, but shouldn't be the reason why my gpw is so low. Just as a side note, I am only doing my second grow at the moment. Still getting to know the ropes. What we are discussing is all based on my very first grow. I think "going organic" should be much more of a thing in the farming industry. I am on a big farm, we're trying to move away from synthetic nutes, cause pumping them into the earth at the rate we do completely changes the chemical composition of the soil and over time you destroy the environment for the plants. For a plant in a pot you only gona grow for 4 months it really isn't doing anything other giving the plant exactly what it needs. I am missing something here though. How does ammending the soil before planting differ from ammending while growing? And how does organic make the split between the two? Even mixing earthworm castings in your "medium" before planting means you've ammended the "medium". Organic dry ammendments are added to the "medium" before planting and then you just give water whole grow through. Would you say this is organic? Because, it is. It doesn't really matter what you call it and you've already ammended the "medium", which according to you makes it not organic.? I am lost. Yes, it is. It's the Apollo 8 from futurama. I have the light raised 40cm above the canopy and the plants are not reaching the sides of the tent. Can't raise it more (for better spread) cause then I'd be losing the last bit of intensity. Hence the new light coming together as we speak. With both my first and second grow I've had 4 plants in a 1mx1m space. Tried to max the potential. I mentioned that I could do better with the tea brewing, I had troubles sourcing potassium rich ingredients for my AACT in time, so I think I ended the grow a bit too early actually. Think that had a big impact on the end total. Aswell as the light. Will update my statistics once I have them.

  29. Comparing my organic grow vs my now "synthetic" grows, I feel the organic was slower and costlier and the difference with taste was not there unlike what people said. I am of the opinion that organic is more of a marketing thing, the companies make more money off of it. You can still pull great yields from it though. Chances are your light is letting you down a bit and then possibly environment and/or training. Training makes a big difference and effectively using the space as best as possible. It is easier to achieve 100g from 2 plants than it is from a single plant. It is also quicker to grow 2 smaller plants than a single BIG plant. There are pros and cons, you gotta find what suits you and works best for you. Scrog is cool, but once again takes more time. More time = more electricity, more nutes and end of the day how much better is your final yield? This is if we start talking efficiencies, which some people do not care about - some just want to do it the way they want to do it and nothing wrong with that. Organic, to me, only makes sense if you're at the point where you are not feeding any nutes, just giving water and perhaps a few amendments here and there and that is what you want to do and how you want to grow. Sort of like most outdoor grows I guess, just indoors. Organic where you are feeding nutes, for what? For why? Although we're going off topic now, if you wanna discuss it further start a thread and tag me

  39. A few problems I have with it. Those penalties are ridiculous. They are still quite happy to criminalize people for a plant. The fact that they want to regulate and prescribe what my privacy should look like....then it's not privacy anymore. Long story short. There is still a lot of activism ahead of us.

  42. Hospital, surgery.. back home. Sitting.. still not the best thing to do hehehe but I limped to my plants.. friend took good care of them. I have photos and video still on the cams.. I finish the diary as soon as I can sit more comfy and can work. Last 5 plants went dark end week 12.. as expected. Still.. they took a bit long. Smell is very intense and is a bit like nasty sweat smell. I try to achieve 14 days dry time... friend told me to try it. Moisture right now.. is a bit like 2 weeks curing on a stick 61% humidity, so why not try a 14 day slow dry. He gave me some WW he slow dried.. very very sexy smoke, i give him that.

  43. Thanks @StickyD420 , with the bonemeal im not saying its "bad stuff", but keeping rodents away, while avoiding possible heavy metals. Soil biology loves bonemeal and when sourced correctly I would say its a great ammendment. These issues are also present with manure from commercial dairies, etc. But on a hobby scale its quite easy to source high quality ingredients. @Bospatrollie2 mentioned the SST SeedSproutTea, and it is great for aminos, enzymes and natural growth stimulants. What i meant to say is I use SeedSprout water without brewing it further. Not so familiar with biodyne, I use the EM pro cause easily available for me. Like @Bospatrollie2 also mentioned, he makes all the imos himself and no need to buy myco etc.

  44. Awe i am planning to go compost extracts from my homemade compost, then i also got various stages of home made leaf compost that I also use for extracts. Will fire up the AACT before I plant, and be sure to collect some wild imo's as well. Like with SST's and FPJ' i like most mixes, any beans we sprouting for salads here i get the runoff. I mix straight into watering mixture, no brewing. FPJ there are loads i like, but dandelion and comfrey prob my best, dandies in veg and comfrey for flower.

  45. I added 40 liters of old donkey manure and about 5 liters of bran. Crushed most of the manure and tilled it all in again. The manure will help to add more carbon to the soil, some Nitrogen as well as loosening the mix. As it breaks down it will benefit both the bacteria and fungi in the soil. There are many benefits adding some good quality manure to soils, however this is best done a month or two beforehand.

  46. It is an absolute pleasure to my soul watching 32 girlz speeding into bloom presently - we stretched them from end Feb in the nursery. Basically put in two 20W full spectrum outdoor LED spots - bought from Sunfor for the job and driven by an Atom450 built for us by Pitt Industries. Gave me 7 hours a night to play with and we reloaded the generator from a 100W solar panel when the sun was good. With cloud I used Eskom. I am super greatful to @1000Hills Nursery for the experimental cuts - first time for me growing spec genes of superior quality in pots in a 12/12 scenario. We do 3m trees in the garden normally for bho oil and this year is the first time light became an issue due to a bad hail storm end December. It works and I am scoping to buy a second Atom. Means we could do a permanent rotation in the greenhouse - maybe 4 cycles per yer. Yes please Makes for interesting future projects we are planning.
