  4. Brother. I see u like to fiddle. I dont mean it in a bad way. Please dont be offended. Instead of having so many moving parts and ammendments and additives and so many steps. Which means more chance of shit not being correct or doing what it suposed to. Why dont u go for the easiest solution with the least amount of work. This route may be abit costlier. But its gona relieve u of so much of stressfull thinking. Rather get the good nutez in a bottle that u just need to mix with water. The simpler it is the less can go wrong.

  6. I feel a bit like i get criminalized by incompetence... copy paste is a stupid way to write a draft for a law Anything not containing any THC should get excluded by default. Just legalize the trade... would open a coffee shop right away and generate more work spots
    3 points
  7. But then you look at all the local companies selling seeds. Mostly they are registered companies, so tax applies. The govt is getting their share. Seeds also dont conatain any THC, so is it then excluded as far as sales prohibition. Then as you say, you are allowed the plants but where are you supposed to get them.... It does seem that the grey area is getting bigger, not smaller, as the bill contradicts itself in its purpose in more than a few places.

  8. Loads of tips from the bois!! My 2c would be... Well quite a few cents actually. 1)light - the light you have is really great for veg and flower, but its value will be in the flowering stage mostly. - I would follow @afternoon blazer advice about the Acdc lights... Really good bang for your buck for veg growth. And then use the 600w HPS for flower only. Recipe for success with lighting. I wouldn't fully convert to LED just yet if you are happy paying the electric bill you get. But it's definitely where the market is moving LED quantam boards and high output diodes. 2)the meduim. Christ it looks scary... The barky bits are no good. I would honestly try cut the plants out of that meduim, even if you damage some of the roots, and put it in the meduim with perlite. I recommend getting yourself some coco and mixing it with the perlite. This is the right meduim for cannabis. Even the soil soils are mixed with a lot of coco to make it a lighter arier meduim. Or get one of the recommended brands and use as is. Telling you... Guaranteed success son. 3)the nutes. Seagrow is a great all round nute source! And is a valuble addition to your toolbelt. There are tons of better nutes available... But this is not the worst you can do either... So all good man. If you can afford other nutes, I will suggest the biobizz range. How are you feeding the plants? This is where I want to highlight the most. Not a single one of your plant pics has a moderately dried out meduim... Every Pic you posted has drenched pots. The amount of water in the pots with the seedling should be fine for like the next 2 weeks without watering. And your bigger ones should be fine for like a week as well. And you should not be using any of the seagrow nutes at all yet... Plants are just too small. It would seem as you have been caught in the new hobby snare... Loving your new passion to death. This is a long game... Zero aspects of growing require constant adjustment. My 4c is you have not been letting your meduim dry out sufficiently. Light is good, nutes are good, airflow is good.... Watering habits are bad... Naughty naughty lol. As you are new, use this tip to help with watering. Actually, here's 2 tips for watering. A) pot weight test. Weigh your meduim before you water it... So you know what a 'light' meduim feels like... And then water, and only water again when the pot is light, or you have weighed it again and it is getting close to the base number. This approach works well with few plants. B) the knuckle test. Get your fingers stuck in there man... I don't water a damn thing until I can feel that the meduim is only alil moist about 2 knuckles down. That's about 5cm...2 whole inches. Then water till you get a bit of runoff, and then you are good again for a while. Cannabis NEEDs to have a wet to dry cycle. Not a wet to moist cycle. Peace and love bud! I know you gonna get this right

  9. Hey @zolrooker The seagro is fine to use during veg, I use it too. But I think that the Nitrogen content is a bit too high. your N:K:P ratio should be adjusted during flower. Ideally the N should be the least of the three during flower while in veg the N should be higher. K helps fatten the bud and P helps create more bud sites. well, atleast that is my understanding from what I have read and it's been working well with my grow so far. I've gone with the BioBizz Bloom. Every alternate feed, I add molasses too. So far so good. I'm a full on newbie though, so please fact check this information before trying it.
    3 points
  10. Hi @zolrooker, I am not too sure about your feeding plan but I am sure someone will chime in soon. What I wouldn't do is feed the fish emulsion during flower. It's high in nitrogen and therefore more suitable for veg. I heard that the flowers taste like fish if you feed that stuff late in flower. Biobizz bloom is definitely a good choice. Kelp, Molasses and compost tea should be fine for flowering too.

  11. What up @peanutbjt I had a similar problem. Basically 1 fan leaf had those kind of spots. But the rest of the plant is really healthy. I was worried too. But i just left it alone. About 2 weeks now. No issues or spreading. So my conclusion was that i probably spilt some nutez on the leaf and it dried on.
    3 points
  12. One of the leaves... can be just droplets of something you got on the leaf at one stage. In general more then one leaf will show the signs. If you dont know... remove the single leaf, just to be sure, if it is a parasite. Check your new grown leaves if they have those spots... if not, you are fine.

  14. is a very gentle feeding table... i dont like to burn plants of others. Depending on genetics, expect huge trees. Makes very much sense to top. Watering... lift the pot.. feather light, fill till you have a bit run off. Fabric pots like to run over the side and leave inside dry. Bottom feed might be easier with fabric pots. Just watch the tips of the leaves... they yellow, swap to water till new grown leaves have the normal green endings. With a fresh bag FF and the biobizz, no way you run in a defficiency, used it to often... if your pots are a bit small... under 60 liter, i suggest to mix a few spoons epsom salt in the FF.

  15. I’m completely new to growing, this is my first plant. So just some background, sorry if it’s a bit of a long read. This plant grew from a seed i threw in a small pot filled with old soil that had been sitting in my garden. About 4 weeks after it sprouted i came home to find it had been blown over and half of its soil spilled on the floor, the roots at the top were exposed to the elements and it was still being battered by the wind. I set up a budget grow tent inside with a cheap full spectrum LED for when the weather wasn’t suitable and to extend the hours of light my plant received after i was told that the winter day/night cycle wasn’t going to cut it. Anyway my plant bounced back and is looking healthy except for these yellow spots on one of the leaves. Can anyone advise whether these spots may have been caused by stress or if i’m dealing with a nutrient or fungal problem?
    2 points
  16. Otherway around brother. The craft soil is the white bag. The green bag is premium classic. Once the seed popped you can plant it into the green bag for sure. Guys with autos that wana keep away from transplanting even pop their seed in that soil. @EthWal Winter time slows everything down, the colder it gets the slower things go. You got a dstv decoder or perhaps a modem or something that's constantly giving a bit of heat? You just wana get out the room temps, so pop that whole wet paper towel in a jiffy bag, grab 2 plates you would eat from and put the baggie between the plates ontop of the modem/decoder. Plates are there just so your seed is not directly on the device so you don't toast them and it acts as a little heat mat. Also, plates should be inverted ontop of eachother so the sides you would eat off faces eachother and the seed inbetween - so you don't crush the seed.

  17. Ph down is either nitric acid or phosphoric acid.... They are really strong acids and only a drop will change ph. Not enough phosphates to support flowering at the pH you need. I wouldn't want to be adding sodium to my medium.

  18. What up Gromies. Just a small update. Week 5. I think its day 30. Switched to 100 percent nutez now from 75 percent in week 4. Managed to squeeze in about 3 waterings in week 4. About 600ml or so each. First 100 percent watering done today. Weather was shiiite this week so far. Fingers crossed. Better days ahead hopefully. Need that sun man. Still getting about +-9 hours of direct sun. Stretching a small bit. But starting to form some nice budz. Running without any issues still. Still touching wood too. I think im happy overall. Whats ur verdict?

  19. Me again . I wouldn't use the stuff from builders. Try to stay away from granules as they are slow acting. In case you add too much it's going to be difficult to correct it. I haven't used it though... Bloom booster are also a tricky one which I would only recommend if you really know what you're doing. I think molasses or biobloom (which contains lots of molasses) would be best. Oh and if you're looking for boosters maybe check out topmax from biobizz. Not very cheap but I had good results with it.

  21. @peanutbjt, At this point you don't need to worry too much. But I am also battling to pinpoint it... It looks like a half typical magnesium issue... But the brown spots also look like bug damage At any rate, what are you feeding it? I would grab a box of Epsom salts from pnp just to be safe... And mix a teaspoon of it into your next water/feed. Can't harm it and it will sort the magbesuim problem out if it is magnesium. If it's bugs... You gotta remove the leaf and inspect the plant heavy... Top of the leaf, under the leaf... The petiole, the stem, the new nodes. Look for macroscopic movements in the top layer of the soil... But so far the plant actually looks fine other than that one blemish. Another thing... The damage will never heal... But the new growth and the older growth won't make more brown rust spots

  29. As i understand, trading seeds is a class D offence, up to 2 years in prison. Correct? You can have 4 plants, but you cant get seeds.. has to jump out of thin air suddenly, or how do they think plants grow?

Grow update -day 12 The nirvana beans seem healthy ( Girl Scout cookies at the bottom looking the best) horrible cold weather at the moment so I think that’s what’s causing them to be on a go slow ,been giving them 50% strength nutes but think of upping it to 75% ,what you guys think ? 33. Thanks bud, i was also aware of the high nitrogen content, but thought that it may be fine to use for the first 2 weeks. Will rather leave it out if theres any risk it can cause any problems. Looks good.. i was actually trying to get some vermicompost / worm castings last week for my tea but had no luck finding it locally.

  40. Hi guys....just an update on my grow. Things seem to go slow..... Big plant is flowering currently. Also switched to HPS light for her....also trimed away some of the big leaves. Must i trim more? My one clone from the mother plant seems to be growing, atleast 50% success rate. But also must say used different sections to see what will work. Does everything look good. Or any tips or something i must change?
    1 point
  41. My guess would be, either pH or 2 part second half answer, being over watering, or looking to me like you watering inside only. Can cause that root ball to be outside the watering zone, and make the plant do that if some roots are wet and some roots are dry. Didn't read all your thread to see your whole setup or nutrients and so on.

  42. In terms of light spectrum and bud quality, I absolutely believe HID bulbs beat LED (quantum board with Samsung LM301B/H diodes specifically). However at the cost of more heat, less light spread and higher electricity cost, all of which the average homegrower wants the opposite of.
    1 point
  43. Depends on the size bro. Of the plant Mine girl is in week 2. Usually water every 2nd or 3rd day with 50-100ml
    1 point
  44. Led market is vast bro. Have to do your research on what your needs are first. Also i suggest u spec a light 1 size up. As these lights get really expensive and its always better to give yourself a good buffer for the future instead of having to upgrade later at another large amount. However this only gets expensive if u want a complete grow light to run from seed to harvest. Led lights for vegging are extremely affordable right now fow what u getting. I know about 6 guys on here including me thats using the acdc floodlights. And so far not 1 negative remark. Light costs under R400. But if u go this route. U woukd have to use the sun for flower only later on. As the light wouldnt be appropriate for flowering. Nice cheap simple solution for veg though.
    1 point
  45. Might be. But in terms of heat In terms of coverage In terms of life span In terms of power usage In terms of size LED is boss.

  46. yes i did over water in the begining. But i think its doing good currently. I also do have a fan that runs 25 hours for fresh air.... Other question- the below feeding is it proper or should i use other stuff? Those im using is natural so you cant burn or over feed the plants according to the information

  47. Update on my seedlings. Its day 17 now. Its still seems like my seedlings are slow. I transplanted some of them into a better mix. Mixed 50/50 seedling mix with pertile. Only transplanted half of them so see whats the difference. I took pictures on past sunday. Seems like the ground is drying out to quick now! Pushed my finger deep but barly felt moisture. Watered the previous day..... I dont know what can be the fault. Humidity-40-60%, temp 21-27C , have a fan thats runnig for fresh air. Light is on a 18 hour shift 6 dark. Hp levels say between 6 and 7. The ones without the pertile mix looks healthier Can someone assist please?

  48. Eish post me which internet tuned you that. MH is veg, HPS is flower. Like I say ching chong, I think you should raise your temps at night, and a method of doing that with bulbs is to keep the lights on 24hrs. Ain't no problem. 18-6 is good to help with temp management when things are too hot. It is also the gold standard of light timing in veg. However, 24hrs is also just as fine. I like it when you talk foreign to me.

Then the next 2 are the other one it is more gassy but will be a bitch to trim. The last 2 pics are of the ACDC. 1:1 thc CBD. My oil plant. Smells super good. Sent from my VTR-L09 using Tapatalk
