Eeeeeey guys been kaaaak busy with a really exciting venture that I hopefully will soon reveal. As for this grow, everything is smooth sailing. Probably why I haven't really had much to say, literally just waiting for more development from the buds Just been taking a couple leaves off everyday just to open up the colas as much as possible. even from the bottom nugs I'll be getting some decent popcorn. The main colas on the big plants in the DWC are just getting bigger and bigger11 points

Popped these 5 lemonpie on friday night, by Sat morning they cracked the radicals were about 2mm each.. by Sunday morning they were 4mm , 5mm, 9mm,9mm, 14mm respectively.. and placed into jiffy pellets Monday night helmets were off And today as you can see in the pic these babies are growing like true weeds and then there are the critical plus 2.0s.. Guys my advice is to buy newly released strains as far as possible..3 points

Sour Diesel Auto - Day 81 Harvested the sour diesel today and started drying. Gelato Samba Auto and Cocopopo Auto - Day 60. They look a bit sad. Droopy leaves. Last feed was on Sunday and I noticed soil was quite dry. Lots of runoff.3 points

Very awesome, even li-on batteries too. Sounds like a fantastic setup. I wish I had lent your brother some money 2 years ago too. haha2 points

@PsyCLown Yes bud, I'm aware, 24V = 2 x 12V batteries. Capacity will not be doubled but apparently the efficiency is a little better than just 12V. Nice one. Since I was last online, an amazing thing has happened.... About 2 years ago I loaned my brother some money and today of all days he has decided to pay me back. Since he runs an electrical wholesaler, he paid me back with an awesome Kodak 5KW PSW inverter + 4 Lithium Ion batteries! Will be taking delivery Fri morn. I can now run EVERYTHING on this rig - lights, fans, A/C, dehumidifier, humidifier etc. I can't believe my luck and timing! Another massive positive is that I've learned so much from you guys & online, now have a much better understanding of how UPS inverters and batteries work, which I probably wouldn't have learned if it wasn't for this challenge. An awesome day, which was much needed!2 points

And 100% success rate on my first cuttings [emoji16] All 6 of these(excluding the second one from the top on the right, which is Super Lemon Haze from seed) came from the 2 Amnesia haze ladies. Weirdly, the cuttings from the smaller of the 2 mothers have exploded as you can see in the back and top left. The ones I took from the big girl are growing much slower, bottom 3 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Makes alot of sense what you're saying... How can you possibly flush your garden?! good point. I'll test a flushed and non-flushed plant from the same strain and see for myself. Re the nutes - cool, thanks. I'll likely just stick to the GHE products so they're all the same manufacturer. cheers bud2 points

Eavening gromies. Well seems as if my slip up with the sudden cold front got to three of the seeds and I do not think they made it. Keepi g faith though. The 3 little seedlings are doing fine but also a bit stunted due to the cold. I have them in a greenhouse and they should do fine.. My other seedlings love it.2 points

A decent swazi auto could be interesting. I dont like the terpene profile though. Not compared to today's flavors. But the clear high, if you could capture that...and of course halving the flowering time. 16-17 weeks is just RUFF!1 point

If "they" you mean mother nature the plant type developped in the short day light nordic zones. Is the reason ruderalis is not photo sensitive. Follows a timer to accomodate the short summers they experience. More cold resistant... i dont know. I lost batches to cold in the same batches i had photos in... below 12, they all seem to show you the finger I do some ruderalis next, need more regular seeds and will do the first crossing with swazi gold, want a auto form but can put a few ruderalis seeds outside to see how they do now still rather cold.1 point

Hi bro, if it was underwatering your plants will perk up in an hour or so. Before you water again make sure it's not overwatered by lifting up the pot. If it feels light give some water if not the problem might get worse if you should add water. You mentioned that it was completely dry before you watered last time. If your soil was super dry it can loose the ability to retain water. That would explain why you had such a lot of runoff. Maybe someone else has got some more input.1 point

Most soils on the market have a heavy hand of coco mixed in, this makes the soil light and fluffy. Light and fluffy is the type of meduim weed likes. The compost added to the coco can be very broken down already, super fine particles of goodness, tend to compact and make a denser heavier soil, which is less what cannabis likes... Now if all soils were equal, you would know you have enough nutes for veg and what ratio the elements are in and how to use the soil correctly for best results. This has never been the case with soil... Shit, even from bag to bag of the same soil can be vastly different in composition to each other... Ideal for a noob? Hell no... Ideal for an experienced grower? Maybe... If he is making his own compost and knows the ratios more or less... So now what about hydro? All the control in the world! But you gotta do that... You gotta control it... If you leave it... Shit goes south very quickly. But it's easy to fix with a fresh res. Should noobs be going this way then with all their eagerness and want to be in control? Maybe... If you like the control side of things and have the patience and willingness to be diligent then you will really reap the rewards. But if you know yourself and you're a lazy cunt... Hydro is not the way for you. So then... Coco? Cheaper than soil by a considerable amount Inert Light and fluffy You know what you put in is there, and nothing else, no imbalance of nutes... A clean slate so to speak. It has the flexibility and control of hydro, with the benifits of being able to neglect or be slow without it going wildly out of control. So what now... You need salt based nutes... Non organic? Bleh?! Nonsense... You are feeding them the elements they need... Directly... They don't have to be broken down first to get absorbed and used... They just get used... You feed today, you have results tomorrow. For noobs? I feel coco is an all round best and convenient way to grow weed. Very little room to mess things up... But it's also fairly easy to fix any mistakes you may have made. And for experienced growers? I have heard of soil grows converting to coco and doubling their yeilds... Double mother fuckers, can you hear me?? Soil can only compete with coco run after run after run under the guidance of a truly great grower... That's my R1 to this take1 point

So I wouldn't say any particular medium is the ultimate, it comes down to personal preference and what suits your needs best. Someone may want an organic grow for whatever reason, you could use coco for that although soil would be a better medium as there would be stuff in the soil for the microbes to break down etc. Etc. Coco and hydro can give you a lot more control over your grow as you fully control what goes in, soil has variables to it which are near impossible to control for a home grower. Hydro, I'm of the opinion it's one of the cheaper ways to grow in terms of running costs although it does require slightly more initial equipment but barely. Soil and coco you're buying pots, hydro you're buying a tub and air pump. I have yet to try it out myself, although I believe it's a bit more hands on. I personally prefer coco, suits me needs and wants well. I find it simple to use and any mistakes can easily and quickly be fixed. Also if you'd like to try out all 3 methods in your first grow, then by all means go for it! You'll gain a fair bit of experience and you'll get assistance and support from members on the forum to help ensure your grow is a success overall and you can then decide from there which medium suits you best. For your next grow, gt hydro have a coco called gold line I think. Five that a go, no extra amendments - just pure coco. You can add some perlite to it, I prefer my coco this way. Also ripen and flush, not sure how I feel about those products anymore to be honest. Ripen, you can likely achieve the same results by feeding a bit extra mpk and if you're feeding bloom nutes the addition of ripen or mpk won't make much of a difference. As for florakleen, well, I'm not even sure flushing is really needed... Another heated topic which we could get into another time though. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

Thanks guys. Sorry, I should have been more clear when I said Calmag. I was referring to the blue chart above as they're right next to each other and have very similar uptake from a PH standpoint. As per whatever the deficiency may be at the time, I would check the deficiency chart, then add minerals separately, as per your suggestions. I was under the impression that my Atami grow medium and GHE nutes (Grow, Bloom and Ripen + flush at the end) had all the macro and micro nutes necessary for the entire grow... Good info though, on how to Cal & Mag. Cheers. @Prom thanks for the tip of adjusting N when using CalMag suppliment @CreXI believe Atami has already added buffers and other necessary minerals & additives to their medium beforehand... (I'm using Atami High Poroosity Coco). Regardless, that ship has sailed for this grow because the seeds have already sprouted.1 point

Howsit 420SA community... I have decided that the time has come to start my very own outdoor grow this season. Better late then never hey... I have built a steel framed Green house (6m X 3m X 2.2m). I have chosen to go with Shade clothe for the sides of the Greenhouse, which I am hoping will help with controlling the high humidity we already experience down here on the coast. I have a plan of my own already based on looking at google and chatting with mates already in the game, but I would really appreciate any advice or help with getting this up and going the best way possible... Planting Fem Photoperiods (Nothing too serious - I got a great selection from Biltong and Budz) - Opinions on how to pop these seeds with the best success rate possible will be greatly appreciated. I am planning to only start my outdoor grow in late October - Early November. As I have heard some guys down here had some issues last season. What are your guys thoughts on this? I will be using a variety of fabric pots ranging in size from 25L, 45L, 55L and even a 90L I will be using FF Premium Classic as a growing medium... Plus I have some worm castings to use when needed. I will be using the Bio Bizz Organic Nutrient range, but would like to know what else others would use, and if KELPAK, CALMAG and EPSOM SALTS would help to aid the grow, or rather have little to no effect at all? I am very excited to get this up and going and will be grateful to any advice from the more experienced growers ono this forum... I am sure with your help and my enthusiasm, I can get this off to the best start possible and look forward to a great season of learning and hopefully resulting some dank budz... Take it Easy everyone and I look forward to hearing what your thoughts and opinions are...1 point

@prom That's settled then... Will go with the rain water. I have a 40,000L tank as a supply, so I won't have an issue there. Will also just leave the Activera on the shelf for now. I'm looking at running a couple fans on either end of the greenhouse to keep the airflow up. I've heard that PM is a serious problem down here, but that prevention is the best remedy. Still have to look into Pests, PM and deficiencies. I know little to nothing about it all. Thanks again and I'm looking forward to the journey ahead and where it leads... hopefully it leads to some decently sized dense, dank budz. I'd be very happy with that1 point

Thanks @Prom I really appreciate all the help... im most definitely going to be needing it being my first time growing. I will post pics of the greenhouse and the grow once I have everything in order and ready to run. I will definitely drop the seeds into a glass of water and then go for option-A, where I drop them straight into their pots and then just move them into bigger pots as they grow out of them. I was thinking of dropping an Amnesia Haze in the 90L pot, and I have some cages here already that I can use for support. I'm using the entire Bio Bizz range: Root Juice, Bio Grow, Fish Mix, Bio Bloom, Top Max, Bio Heaven and Activera. Plus I have KELPAK, CALMAG and Epsom salts... I think i should be good with the above... But obviously then no need for the epsom salts as much I suppose. In regards to water, would your preference be with rain water, or rather with dechlorinated tap water? As those are currently my 2 options... current PH of 7.4 for the rain water, and 7.8 on the tap. And would you need to alter the water PH at all? If so, could you use a regular PH down or up? Or, would the growing medium buffer the PH on its own? If you have any advice on training methods... LST, super-cropping, etc. Please feel free to pass on any knowledge you feel you would like to share... im open to all the advice I can get1 point

is a very gentle feeding table... i dont like to burn plants of others. Depending on genetics, expect huge trees. Makes very much sense to top. Watering... lift the pot.. feather light, fill till you have a bit run off. Fabric pots like to run over the side and leave inside dry. Bottom feed might be easier with fabric pots. Just watch the tips of the leaves... they yellow, swap to water till new grown leaves have the normal green endings. With a fresh bag FF and the biobizz, no way you run in a defficiency, used it to often... if your pots are a bit small... under 60 liter, i suggest to mix a few spoons epsom salt in the FF.1 point
-
the FF premium classic is great, no need to invest more on soil. You might want to go 60L fabric pots.. bigger even better. Carefull, FF soil does not provide enough stability for monster trees and wind, you need to cage those best. I like your selection of the biobizz range.. as you know molasses already, just add a bit during flower and you made your own biobizz Grow. Short dirty table. Lets say you start mid october. First 2 weeks nada, just let them germinate. Start with 2ml fish mix per liter rain water in week 3, beginning Nov. End Nov, beginning Dec, 3ml Fish per liter, depending a bit on size. End december you change to 4ml per liter fish mix. Some change faster, some slower. Around 27 jan, they should go or be Pre. Also your swap, redunce to 3ml fish and add 1ml molasses, 2ml bloom per liter Next change is flowers form, little ones but flowers... 2ml fish, 2ml molasses and 3ml bloom per liter. Flowers now thick like your little finger. 2ml fish, 2ml molasses, 3ml Bloom, 1ml TopMax per liter Flowers thumb size... 2ml fish, 2ml molasses, 4ml bloom, 2ml TM Week after add 1ml TM additional (3ml), another week after another ml... should be 4ml total now. When all your pistil hair are brown, time to flush for 7 days. Pure water only... Pity is that plants cant read... but they tell you if you over do it. Just observe new grown material and react. Hope it helped...1 point
