Hey Guys. I just wanted to end this thread by say a big Thank You for all of the advice and guidance in helping me get ready for my spring grow My orders just got delivered. I settled on the Freedom Farms soil, Biobizz nutes and the Jiffy starter plugs. I received my seeds from Bud Buddies. Super lemon haze and purple urkle photoperiods and a few autos. All set and ready to go Wish everyone a great growing season ahead...3 points

What's up fam. So I got a bunch of seeds from what is supposedly DP. My mate got some bud from his neighbor who said that he got it from his aunt. She has cancer and grows her own stuff. The bud was full of seeds, and I didn't expect much from it... 2 bongs later I would realise that this outdoor gave me a head buzz like some less potent indoor strains I've smoked in the past. Like, the bud looked terrible, but the high was so surprising. I'm not so sure that I have the space or sufficient knowledge to effectively grow, breed and stabilise this strain, so I'm willing to send out just over half of the seeds to whoever is interested. If you could end up feminizing it, that would be amazing. I wanted to give the guy some seeds back to give his aunt, or maybe some bud as well. I've picked out the best looking seeds from the bunch and I'd like to develop this strain. @Totemic @420SA @1000Hills Nursery I remember seeing a Landrace Sativa appreciation thread on 420sa somewhere, maybe some of those guys would be interested... If you have a link to the thread, please drop it here... I'll go over there and fill them in. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk2 points

So the girl died and quick... root rot.. Some bark clogged the drainage holes. The other girls are almost there.. The next is a Jetfuel I gifted her and she's becomming a grower as shebreceived no help from me. We split so she'll probably start peeking around on the site soon.2 points

Aweh @TheUltimateNoob Would be interested in that. A bit more background would be nice and any pics if possible of the female and the male that did the pollination.2 points
-
Yo @TheUltimateNoob , does your friends aunt know the origins of where she originally found the beans. Do you have any information about the male that pollinated the bud? Is it a pure inbred line, any chance of hybridization. Pure DP should already be a bit more stable in my opinion and would probably require less work than imagined, if it is actuallt DP. The thread you mentioned is on the breeders group, here is the link2 points

I agree with@PsyCLown Let them grow out a bit. You can expect a height increase by a factor of around 2.7x from flip to end of flower stretch - so plan accordingly. I always defoliate at the flip, then at least 2 more times in flower. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk2 points

Hi everybody, this will be my first proper outdoor grow since I have sufficient space and am able to give my girls the attention they need. Germination method: Seeds soaked overnight then into a paper towel and kept at about 20C Growing medium: Just Cannabis Craft Cannabis Soil Enviroment: Outdoors/Pots 04/08/2020 - Seeds were soaked in a glass of water overnight then put into paper towel till they sprouted tap roots. 07/08/2020 - All seeds popped up from the dirt. 11/08/2020 - All seeds have their first set of true leaves. 13/08/2020 - All seedlings transplanted from starter pots to slightly larger pots (Next time I think I'll use a jiffy pellet or plant straight into the final pot) 20/08/2020 - Majority of the seedlings have their second set of true leaves. (We're getting so much rain at the moment so sunlight is a luxury) 26/08/2020 - Majority of the seedlings are starting their third set of true leaves 03/09/2020 - Transplanted seedlings into bigger pots, thank goodness I did because they were starting to form an outline of the bottom of the previous pots with one or two poking roots out the drainage holes. They looking healthier if I do say so myself.2 points

Hi everyone. First grow, a lot to learn. Planted three bag seed Durban Poison seeds, and one Gorilla Glue from CB Seeds. Planted them in the garage, made a small space available that will be extended later on. Had no heating source, so the little guys were severely stunted early on due to cold. Soil used - Freedom Farms. Lighting is a King Led 1000 watt. Reflective Material is a panel with emergency blanket glued on, and an emergency blanket glued to the wall. Going to close the other sides later on. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Pics below, please comment on plant health. I have not used any nutrients yet, planning to use Biobizz Grow when the plants are a bit bigger, and Bloom later on. Will the early cold and stunting cause hermies? Diary. Glass 29 July 2020. Paper Towel 31 July 2020. Started Germinating 02 August 2020. Prepped soil 02 August 2020. Planted in soil 04 August 2020. Planted Gorilla Glue but damaged the taproot. Lesson learned. Switched light on 04 August 2020. 24 hour cycle. First two breaks soil, both Durban Poison 09 August 2020. Gorilla Glue with broken taproot breaks soil 11 August 2020. Still on 24 hour cycle. Changed to 18/6 12 August 2020. Fourth one breaks soil. Durban Poison 13 August 2020. Pictures are from today 25 August. Plants only starting to put on some weight now due to warmer weather.1 point

Thanks for the feedback! I'll try to get my mate to ask him and then get back to the landrace thread. My suspicion is that it got pollinated by a male in her yard... Will have to find out though.. Thanks again. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk1 point

Hey thanks bud. I've got the QB75 bar in the flower 1m x1m cabinet, eventually I want 3 or 4 of them in there. This no name light was thinking of veg only in the long term. Considered putting it with the QB75 but won't I end up with an uneven grow unless I constantly rotate the plants. Which will not be a problem as I won't be using any specific grow training. I'll be starting @Bay Seeds test grow and wanting to get optimal light in the flower cabinet. I'll be putting 2 in the cabinet. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

Nice one... Will be following along... I must state though, and sorry for the bad news - The light you have has a true wattage of about 185w from what I've seen online. It does have a nice spectrum though. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk1 point

Hey all. Got this from a friend and wondering if it's worth while replacing my 200w worth of cfl's with it. Is there any way of checking the true wattage for idiots without a meter. Without me burning the reservation down please [emoji16] Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

I've got access to a soil specially made for veld and fynbos propagation and seedlings. My first grow seemed to be ok in that soil what with me not knowing what I was doing. Only thing I added was water. To make my soil stretch l have bought a bag of just cannabis soil, coir, perlite and vermiculite. Mixing 1 bag my soil, 1 bag craft soil and the extras. Gonna run a test on that and look into food of a sort for the various growth stages. Open to suggestions. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

I doubt that part will remain in the final draft. It's completely irrational. It's like saying you are allowed as much gold bullion as you want, but you are not allowed to buy it. Where should I get my gold then? Steal it? Defraud? Black market? The whole point behind the constitutional courts ruling is to decriminalize cannabis on a private level. The proposed bill seeks to recriminilize it. The bill stinks of ambiguity all over the place. So much so that it's going to be difficult to prosecute anyone with it. I just dont think it will withstand constitutional muster. My 2c doesnt really answer your Q though...1 point

@DamDave, priceless... I also got one of these at home. Caught her doing HST and defoliation one day.1 point

I'd personally want to veg them a bit longer to let them gain some height, it's all very flat at the moment and doesn't appear as if they're much higher than the soil. Then I'd defoliate and then flip. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

So my thinking is, if you're paying a set price for the space then you need to maximize on the space to drop your cost per gram. So regardless of the size of the space you'll be paying for, you want to fill it and use as much as possible. This way if you get say 250g dry from an 80 x 80 tent the cost per gram will be higher than if you put a bigger tent in and yield say 1kg dry. So starting with one of the smallest tents available, not the route I'd go for. Due to the costs and hassle, I'd want to try bang out a grow and have that yield sustain me for a while - how much do you smoke a month on average? How long would 1.2kg dry last you? The main expense is always the first grow due to the equipment required, after that the equipment has already been bought so further grows are far cheaper. It's always easier if you can find a friend to go half / half with you so you're not out of pocket as much and you both score in the end. I wouldn't be worried about load shedding, just something you gotta live with. If it starts try adjust your light cycles in such a way that the load shedding has minimal effect on the plants and you're still able to check on them during their light cycle etc. Keep in mind, with equipment you can recoup some costs by selling it later on if you decide to stop or want to upgrade. With growing vs buying bud, the savings come in monthly as you're not forking out for the bud anymore - perhaps it's going towards your grow now but the biggest difference is you'll be smoking quality indoor vs shit outdoor. I'm spoilt. I don't remember what it's like to grind bud with seeds. All the bud I smoke hits hard, I actually got some outdoor from a friend, it was a small skinny bud. Smaller than a pinky. Had seeds and I had to smoke 3 bowls to get the same effect as my indoor. It was shit outdoor, good outdoor would be better obviously. What is the main goal here? Save costs on buying bud? Or end up with a better quality smoke for similar money every month? Edit: how is the person going to accurately charge you for the electricity you use? These babies are booming. Did a watering today. And toped up the soil in the grey pots. Was abit low. . . Didnt have enough at time of potting and soils settled abit more. Seems like they enjoyed their first night in the new atmosphere. Temps sticky around the 23-26 mark. Humidity between the 40 and 60 range.1 point

A decent swazi auto could be interesting. I dont like the terpene profile though. Not compared to today's flavors. But the clear high, if you could capture that...and of course halving the flowering time. 16-17 weeks is just RUFF!1 point

This is true for HPS. New lighting tech is changing the game. Controlling ambient temperature for the sake of it is misguided. You need to achieve the correct Leaf Surface Temperature, for optimum photosynthesis and transpiration. The correct ambient temperature for HPS, cannot be the correct ambient temperature for LED. Without the massive amounts of infrared wavelengths, HPS produce, LED lights need higher ambient temperature, to compensate for the cooling effect of evaporation, from transpiration. Point is, with new lighting technologies, you need to measure the LST ( cheap infrared laser thermometer) and adjust your ambient, to achieve an LST of 25/26 C. FYI: Set emissivity to 0.98 on your laser thermometer, for green foliage.1 point
