  1. Broke out the 'ol tripod ( @TheUltimateNoob, @afternoon blazer ) and took some trichome and bud shots to see where we are with harvest. The outside lady (Skywalker OG) is one dirty girl dust and bugs will definitely be on the flavour profile if I don't do a wash. Will be the first time I do a bud wash so that will be interesting. I rate in terms of harvest, I think I will begin the flush, do that for a week and harvest sometime closer to the weekend. Inside we are still maybe looking at harvest at the end of the month. Buds are getting orange hairs and the aromas just keep getting better. The sugar leaves look insane and I am very happy with the progress. 4. Day 4. Seed #2 has finally popped it's head above ground, it is looking pretty weird though. Almost like there's a membrane of sorts. #1 and #3 are chomping at the bits. I am giving very small amounts of water using a kitchen spray bottle on direct spray setting. Hoping for females now and thinking if I should do some sort of training when the time is right. So, to train or not to train bud's? If I should train what would be a good method for a novice? Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  5. What do the plants look like?

  6. Welcome! Your name is awfully close to mine A carbon filter is to help mask the smell of the plants, especially once they start flowering. The air passes through the carbon, the smell basically attaches to the carbon and what comes out is air which is smell free (or heavily reduced). So whether it is required or not will depend on you and your situation etc. As for the sized fan, well, with LED lighting heat is not an issue, you could likely get away with a 4" fan, otherwise a 6" fan and run it on a lower setting for less noise should work well too. I'd personally go for a 6" fan as its more common and you can always increase the speed if need be. As for the size of the filter, well, its a small grow space so do not need a large one. Probably between 30 to 50cm long is fine but also keep in mind the larger the carbon filter the more carbon and therefore the longer it could possibly last. Not sure what you are asking about with regards to plastic vs metal? For what exactly? The fans and/or filter? Either or really... My fans are made from plastic, its common. The filters are generally metal, although I have seen some difference designs. I would not bother with plastic vs metal as a deciding factor.

  7. Howdy fine people Another update. Week 4 (sort of) PS1 - day 25 REST - day 20 Didnt get to train as much as i thought. Had some stuff to deal with and still do. So the girls have been getting less attention. I did top 2 of the bag seeds though. And i did LST the Purple Sunset 3. Should i be removing the leaves below where i toped? Will hit u guys up with a group shot abit later. When i put them back in the box. I am running out of space. Will need an extra stratergy soon.

  8. Hey there bud's. Anyone come across this before. I have 3 branches instead of the usual 2 at the nodes of my Jack Berry. If you look at the base there are 3 leaves as well. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  9. Finally after a few minor logistical problems and you know, life, I am ready to embark on my second indoor grow journey courtesy of @Bay Seeds. Thanks bud. Grow setup: 6 x Glamberry from @Bay Seeds. 1m x 1m x 1.6m cabinet from @Wife's Shelving Unit's. She's still a bit peeved. 1 x QB75 bar from @growopz. 1 x 300w no name Chinese blurple, after investigation probably 100w gifted by a friend. Soil. 50/50 Just Cannabis and specially made soil for propagation mixed together, perlite, vermiculite and coir added. Soil into 10l pots, watered and left to dry out again. I'll be planting 3 now and the other 3 in 2-4 weeks time depending on the growth rate. I may have another light by then that above friend wants me to compare. He has a few on the way from China. Hey, if I can score a light I'm sure it will do as a veg light instead of CFLs Grow plan: I have rigged the lights so that I can put 2 plants under the QB75 and 1 plant under the blurple. I will be rotating the pots in their respective places so that the plants can benefit from the overlapping light. Then of course as much light as possible from the greatest light supplier out there, Mother Nature. I'm curious to see the difference in growth under the 2 lights. No two plants are the same and if they spending most of time outside, I don't know. 8/9/2020 07H30 - 3 Glamberry seeds into paper towel. 10/9/2020 Checked this morning round 6ish and 1 had a tail. What's the right terminology here bud's? 5pm all 3 were wagging their tails, seed #1 about 10mm. Can see myself naming these girls, gotta be optimistic guys. I'll be putting them into pots during the course of tomorrow at this rate. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  10. good evening all, I got plants that are about 4 weeks into flower and im thinking of using bloombastic but really scared, im using bio-bizz nutes and wanted 2 know if anyone could advise on how 2 add the bloombastic 2 the equation or rather leave it out. Indoor grow, coco/perlite/seedling mix, with 1 part worm castings

  11. Spring is here. Outdoor season starts now for me. Molly is now in soil in a cup.

  12. My experience with Bloombastic is to use less than what they recommend and see how your plants react. 1st time I used it a 1ml per 1L my plants got burnt heavy. It does push your PH up as well.

  13. Application: Can be used daily throughout the flowering stage as a supplement to the regular nutrition when irrigating the crop. Bloombastic can be used for cultivation on soil, hydro and coconut and is suitable for all irrigation and/or watering systems. Growing tip: Atami especially recommends the use of Bloombastic in the last 4-6 weeks of the flowering (and ripening) stage for optimal results. Dosage: 0,5 – 1 ml per liter water. https://www.leafly.com/products/details/atami-bloombastic

  15. Hi guys, I need some help in selecting the correct fan and filter. I ordered a Mars Hydro 1.2x1.2x2m tent as well as LED light system. Now I need to buy an extraction fan and filter. Is a filter required? What size fan and filter should I get for the tent size? What do you guys suggest between plastic and metal? Thank you

  16. Thanks so much guys, your advice makes perfect sense. Last 2 questions, If I don't use the filter with the HIT150 fan, how do I fix the ducting to the inside of the tent for extraction? Or do I not use ducting...then ho do I fix the fan to the tent outlet? _Evan, which filter do you currently use...or which local brand/size would you use with the HIT150 on slow/medium in my tent? Thanks again guys.

  17. Fantastic, thank you so much for the response. So in short, best bet is a 6" fan and a carbon filter of around 50cm. Should I be concerned with the m3/h of the filter vs the fan? Then, I've been looking at the HIT150 fans, I see they have 3 different speeds one can wire for. How would I know at what speed to run it for the filter being used? Sorry for all the questions, I just started out with this and wow everything is adding up very quickly price wise . I am also trying to learn as much as possible and realize that I might be over complicating some aspects. Thanks a gain for the help.

  18. Not a bad mutation, some of your bud may end up looking a bit different - I had a similar mutation with the one Bruce Banner plant I was growing. May be worth cloning and keeping if you end up liking the mutation, I believe some mutations can even lead to higher yield.

  24. Day 2. Opened the cabinet round 6am and #1 was trying to push it's way out. Checked again at 5pm and #1 and #3 have sprouted. To be honest, I was expecting #3 to be a problem as when it germinated it looked a bit funny. Seed cracked open completely and the tail was very small. Haven't given any more water since I put the seeds in soil and put domes over them. Here's hoping for females next. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  25. 11/9/2020. Day 1. I'm gonna be using days instead of date from here going forward. 3 seeds into 10l pots and I put a dome over them. Not sure if this is the correct thing to do but I'll be monitoring them. Had to put the light off to take the cabinet pic, just in case you all think I got a regular light bulb in there. QB75 is 500mm above plant. Blurple is 400mm above plant. I'll have to figure out correct heights, open to suggestions here bud's. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  28. My current grow is using 19.1 kw/units per 24h. I'm running 1000w(600w + 400w) lights in my flower tent and a 200w light in my veg tent. The fans are pulling 88w. You need to work out consumption in order to work out cost so the best thing to do is break your grow down to each piece of equipment that is using electricity and work from there: I'm gonna use my grow as an example here: Firstly it really helps to measure what each device is actually pulling and not go by the indicated wattage for the device i.e. a 600w HPS may use a little more than 600w, especially with magnetic ballasts. My 600W HPS and 400W HPS are collectively pulling a total of 1115w and not 1000W. If you have a prepaid meter it should be able to tell you the wattage being used in the house. An easy way to measure each devices true wattage is to have the device off, check the current wattage use in the house in the meter and note the amount, then turn the device on, note usage and work out the difference. Here's how to work out total consumption: The formula is : Device wattage X time(hours) device is on Flowering Lights: 1115w x 12 = 13 380 Veg Light: 200w x 18 = 3600 Fans(2 extractor fans and 2 oscillating Fans): 88w x 24 = 2112 We then add these totals together: 13 380 + 3600 + 2112 = 19 092 So that gives me 19 092 watts which is the total number of watts my grow uses every 24 hours. Or 19.1 kilowatts, or 19.1 units... whichever way you wanna look at it. To work out cost Formula: Total daily usage X Price per unit(kilowatt hour) Daily cost: 19.1 x R2.44 = R46.60 Monthly cost: 46.60 x 30 = R1398-00 Hope this helps
