  1. Howdy Greenies [emoji41] Day 40 into flowering and I'm happy with how the girls are enjoying themselves. No issues and my Sonoff for humidity is helping, no PM yet as per previous grows. The smell of the OKC is amazing, buds are dense and loads of thricomes. GSC is big but not as dense yet. Sapphire OG is also dense and I like the lighter brighter green she shows. Temps drop to 12 one night when I forgot to readjust the Sonoff higher [emoji39]. Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk

  2. very interesting... @Totemic I wouldn't say the additional oxygen from microbial life would be that useful in the medium but the ability to dismantle Reactive oxygen species into h202. Very similar to Superoxide-dismutase, which keeps coming up. This enzyme is the first line of defense in a plant. This can also be achieved with the right amount humus and kelp, administered best through the respiratory system. When plants have these enzymes available, stress tolerance increases drastically, growth, blooms and the list goes on. 10 year study done by Virginia tech on specific bio-stimulants. Plant respiratory increase that was noted that of the opening and closing of the stomata too, plants opened wider and breathed more deeply as if they had was would be the equivalent to a shot of Adrenalin. Also another added benefit both Lacto and compounds increasing Superoxide dismutase - an increase in the Systemic stress response. Puts the plants on High alert and when they are in that mode, not much can become systemic, including PM. But that's while the plant is happy and thriving, when dying off towards the end of the plants life its a different story.

  3. Broke out the 'ol tripod ( @TheUltimateNoob, @afternoon blazer ) and took some trichome and bud shots to see where we are with harvest. The outside lady (Skywalker OG) is one dirty girl dust and bugs will definitely be on the flavour profile if I don't do a wash. Will be the first time I do a bud wash so that will be interesting. I rate in terms of harvest, I think I will begin the flush, do that for a week and harvest sometime closer to the weekend. Inside we are still maybe looking at harvest at the end of the month. Buds are getting orange hairs and the aromas just keep getting better. The sugar leaves look insane and I am very happy with the progress. 4. Decided not to top again, I have 6 colas on each plant which I think is fine. Transplanting next week to it's final pot then will transition to flower a week or two after.

  5. With drying you do not need a monster air flow. Just enough to regulate your humidity and temp inside the dry box. No direct fan needed at all, just the tent fan, low entry and top exit. There are many recommendations how long you should dry.. the longer the better. What is sure, to fast drying and you get hay smell and the typical chlorophyll taste. I remove all fan leaves to dry, but not the sugar leaves. If you are in a wet area, you might want to snip more, if very dry, might even keep the fan leaves on the plant to slow down the drying process. I try to keep my drying material between 55 and 60% humidity. Beginning I prefer more around 55, end more 60. If you are dry before day 5 has passed, you are to quick. If you are in a arid area, put a pan of water in your drying tent and point air flow on it depending on your humidity reading. Also try to stay out of the +65% area.. to wet can cause monster problems. Temperature.. best taste results I have with 18-20 degrees and 7-14 days dry time. Growing a plant is one part, I even think the easiest part. The result of the smoke depends on your drying and curing procedure. Most people ruin their material in the last 2 steps.

Bokashi bran everywhere lol, and i like using small amounts of washed rice water, asian folks been growing everthing green with that for thousands of years , my granny born on the pescador islands next to Taiwan, i can remember all the farms there had mutant veggies growing in the land, the were quadrupal in size to anything i had seen before, my gran always said rice water and all the farmers i met siad the same.... folks tale probally , that islands volcanic ,mineral and nutrient rich soil was probally the answer hahah

  7. Yeah I would definitely advise against that. That was something I couldn't keep up with myself. Thinking the runoff was massively high meaning I would need to flush to get it down somehow, but in actual fact there are salt left in the soil yes, but many inert mediums are also buffered which means reading runoff would have to be inclusive of that too. I would usually only feed nutes every third feeding and the rest water, then you making all the nutrients that builds up as salts in the medium soluble with every watering ensuring you don't have build up. This can be increased to nutes every other feeding and water the rest for flowering. That's just how I would do it. Try remember, there really is only so much nutrients a plant can take in at any given time. These salts are the first form for Ion exchange. The purest form. There is no scenarios where bigger is better.

  11. I'll use this for my next grow: https://www.jamiesgardenshop.co.za/shop/cannabis-microbial-consortium-cmc-750ml-r125/ Can't say if it'll any good to my plants but it surely sparked my interest. Other than that I add passion and dedication to everything I grow.

  12. Thanks man, yeah its the LactoBacillus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lactobacillus_plantarum Interesting from that link (this correlates to what you said about large veggies) - 'Lactobacilli are unusual in that they can respire oxygen' -< Thats basically an airline in your medium ? lol - I could see how that would supercharge growth! So @Roasty basically to make it, leave rice water by a windowsill for a few days.Thats what I do,then dilute with water to prevent clogging spray pump.

  19. i dono man, every bone in my body just cringed at the thought of 35x15w of outdated inefficient lighting. you could get ready built ACDC flood lights that have a better spectrum, lower heat output, better canopy penetration, better efficiency per watt.. https://www.acdc.co.za/products/220-240-150w-cool-white-led-alum-flood-light-ip65?variant=32751529689165 150w for under 400 bucks. and sure, 150w is very shy of your 525w, and 400x4 is quite a bit heftier than your sub 1k light. but please bruh, trust me when i say i would rather bet on the 150w LED fitting to outperform the CFL setup. 2x 150w light fittings for 800 if you want a landslide victory.

  20. You need to do what Prom said and plan your drying according to ambient temperatures and your actual bud. I just dried my f skittles last week, for a full 7 days. Here was my process: My buds were extremely dry when I harvested(as it should be, because you left the plant in darkness for 3 days without any watering right lol ;) Now, with the temperatures climbing into the 23's and RH decreasing , I had a problem, these buds were going to dry out too fast because I dont use anything special to dry, just hang em up in a dark room. What I did was, a budwash(water->bicarb->h202->water), and then a small soak for 5 mins in clean water. I then sundried on brown paper for around 10 mins a side until there were no water dripping. The buds gain some weight in water - then I hung them up. This slowed down my drying process and I only had snappy branches on day 6.The bud as been curing for a week now, and its smells like petrol cookie dough my gawd! I came up with the above because i fucked up my entire Fuel OG harvest last year, buy hanging up buds that were already dry and hadnt been washed, the buds dried in 3 days flat and the smoke was harsh cos of chlorophyl. An epic waste of money, time

  22. So I think the higher EC run off is likely due to the fact that the coco you're using isn't plain coco so out of the bag the EC is likely on the higher side. When growing in coco, I do not water until run off. I know a lot of people do recommend it, but fuck that is a mission. Also flushing coco, its an inert medium so you need to feed with nutrients otherwise there wont be any for the plant. I also give nutes with every feeding and since using the automatic watering the plants get nutrient water multiple times a day, based on how quickly the medium dries up... So this leads me to over watering with coco. I feel its more difficult to overwater a plant in coco than it is to overwater a plant in soil, a larger plant in a 20L fabric pot I feel is practically impossible to overwater in coco. I can water it until run off and the plant will remain perfectly happy. When a plant is smaller, I guess it could become a problem but I usually drench the medium (entire medium, I hate only watering around the plant) and then leave it for a few days until it actually dries out a bit but I also dislike leaving my plants until the medium is very dry. When was still using soil I found this lead to slower growth, so since then I started to water more frequently and push nutes with every feed and growth increased and plants have remained happy. I personally feel people put too much emphasis on overwatering of plants. Don't do it everyday with smaller plants which cannot consume the amount of water but no need to wait for the medium to be completely dry before feeding your plants again. I do agree that generally we tend to feed our plants way more nutrients than they are able to consume, although I have not tried to lower the dosages and see what the results are.

  25. Hey all, So how about sharing some of your secrets, wondering if any of you guys have special mixes of stuff you like to use on your plants which you feel make a difference and how do you use it? I know some of the common stuff is kelpack, silicon, various nutrients via foliar spray, Triancontanol etc. Then you get the stuff like trichoderma which can help keep roots happy and mycorrhizal fungi as well which you'd generally mix in with the medium or apply via a "soil" drench. Your various bloom boosters, which is generally MPK. Curious as to what you find works for you and how you apply it.

  26. And I'm saying there's more than one way to skin a cat.... And you are spot on lol... I wonder how I ever thought a 150 would put out less heat than a 15w globe... Jesus I must be fucken retarded or something to think you were going to run all 35 globes at once... What a fire hazard that would be right!? I seriously doubt your contraption would push out over 20k lumens at 40cm, have you even measured? The options I gave go over 40k at 40cm. LOL sure you need more than one spectrum... So buy a different spectrum flood light for flower. You are wrong to think that your invention is the way a beginner should DIY his grow on the cheap.... If you want to live in the 80's then by all means do so... But don't dis my options because they showed yours up.

  33. Personally, all the mycoroot, definitely tops. I even go as far as to rub my seeds with mycoroot before planting, and then again for every transplant going forward. Additional silicon during veg, especially when topping more than once, I find very useful. EM Pro-soil I add to every feeding. Otherwise, I try not to add anything else whether I'm using BioBizz or GHE nutes. Apart from the above, I trust these nutes to be sufficient.

  34. Yeah don’t stress then. Let them dry up now. Shouldn’t be a problem with the rise in temps. Pick them up first until you notice they are super light, you much rather under water than over water And then get a feel for the weight after watering. I would also suggest trying to get run-off only when absolutely necessary. Smaller plants really don’t use a lot of water

The Pink Mango Gelato has a very distinct and sweet smell with the resin producing a sharp vanilla smell on the fingers I'm super stoked on the progress. The outdoor baby is also looking classic. Not super huge buds but the shape of the whole plant I really like I feel like I had so much more to post about in the past and usually posted whenever I ran into snags, which were plenty and often, but now not so much

  47. The way i see it, is that once we are clear on whats allowed and whats not legally, it would be great to trade seeds (possibly swop as opposed to buy.) There is going to be so much variety available that sharing it freely becomes a real possibility. As to how to do it. Its a community thing and I would like feedback. Actually strange how quiet the forum is considering...go figure.
