Either Week 9.5 flowering / Just over 7 weeks since true flowers under the @Liontree Supernova 320 ... The bubbleberry glue pheno in the second image is going to be done soon soon. Probably harvest this weekend, the rest I will leave for another week at least. Small bit of PM ruining my life, but nothing detrimental, got a dehumidifier in so should be the worst of my troubles going forward.6 points

Such communism. I would rather have no regulation what so ever. I don't think the opposite to illegalisation is regulation. The government shouldn't always have first prerogative to establish status quo. Although I hear what you're saying, it really would also be nice to just know what you are allowed and not allowed to do, simply, on one piece of paper, and that it's enforced fairly by authorities. If one were to truly franchise the DPC model and create a brand with multiple locations and access to the public I suppose registering as a non-profit would be the way to go. If you are one grower with one club at one private residence with only private members, it's about as complicated as a gardening service.4 points

@felix2000 if its your first auto, perhaps rather just do LST for now to avoid any disappointments and to help you gain a better understanding and idea as to how that specific auto grows over multiple seeds. You can achieve great results with just LST from an auto and a nice flat canopy too.3 points
-
Ultimately it would come down to the plant - if its a fast grower and very healthy and takes time before it goes into flower, then you may be able to get away with topping it. If not, then I would avoid it as that could just make matters worse and stunt the plant and decrease your yield. Due to the uncertainly with autos, if I were to grow some (or when), I will likely just do LST and not topping or any HST.3 points

Good morning fellow growers, I was hoping that who ever reads this could be so kind as to follow the link and complete a survey that could assist hugely in possibly repairing and remodeling the current draft bill into something more favorable to the community as a whole. Fields of green for all need 5000 completed surveys to bring forward to support the fact that the bill needs a more inclusive model that does not criminalize consumers and growers alike. Please note your personal information is protected under the POPI Act Your help would be highly appreciated and beneficial to us all. The South African Cannabis Survey of Users and Growers Fields of Green for ALL have partnered with the Social Surveys Institute to help understand the South African Cannabis industry in its current form. Please have your say by taking a few minutes to complete this survey. https://fieldsofgreenforall.org.za/the-south-african-cannabis-survey/ #CannabisCanHelpSouthAfrica #noplantcounting #fieldsofgreenforall #trialoftheplant2 #cannabiseducation #OvercomingChallenges #CannabisCanHelpSA #FullSpectrumModel #DaggaKanSAHelp #DaggaCanHelpSA #DaggaCanHelpSouthAfrica #IAmNotACriminal #GoodPeopleDisobeyBadLaws #StopTheCops #KnowYourFarmer #legalcannabisinsouthafrica #cannabisgrowerssouthafrica #cannabiscommunity #igersjozi #igerscapetown #PeoplesPlantLobby #cannabisclub #cannabisclubsouthafrica #daggaclubs #daggaclub #FilmThePoliceMzansi2 points

I'm busy filling up my scrog and some main colas can't be tugged underneath any more, I have 3 weeks vegging left and I'm considering topping the cola at the back ( black) and hoping that the rest of the smaller colas ( blue) gets the upper hand. What's the pro's and cons doing that regarding yield. That main will be to high with the time left Any advice will be appreciated Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk2 points

I tend to use 3-5 clones in a pot, as to one plant, to cut down on veg time. Yield is roughly the same. So 3 pots and I'm above the 8 flowering plants limit [emoji456] Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk2 points

If you are able to get good reveg take cuttings off the plant and grow from the start. Your plant will be disease prone if you dont cut away all the old plant growth.2 points

There is already 3 or 4 other people doing the same in ct. I think they should rather include the club structure in the bill so that the clubs can be regulated. There will always be people who cannot grow for themselves.2 points

Exactly... If cape cannabis can lease grow space, what's to stop anyone else from doing it2 points

Done! And yea... I'm most worried about nosey ass peeps calling the pop, an the pop being nosey enough to come count my shit... I feel grow space should be regulated and not plant count... Outdoor grow space can be larger than indoor grow space... But to me regulating plant count is more of a pain in the ass than abiding by area constraints. Like I have about 6sqm of grow space... Surely calculating the upper limits of what a plant/plants can grow per sqm should be a deciding factor? Like... What if someone sucks at growing... Certainly none of us fine 420SAins... But what if. He has 20x 15cm plants that are in full flower? Not knowing what the plants are capable of becoming, but is now in the wrong for trying to meet his 1.2kg allowed quota that he still won't meet with tiny plants...2 points

Alright cool, monitor and see I guess. Hopefully it does not come back. I feel spraying bud during flower isn't ideal, although if it gets to a point where you have to - then just make sure a fan is run over the bud to ensure it dries properly and I doubt it will become an issue.2 points

Nah not at all, I have the net suspended above the canopy with wires. So when I am putting plants in it, I raise the net high up, place the plants, and then lower the net down slowly and spread the stems where I want them. Then let them recoup after the stress for a week or so, further adjusting some colas... And the rest is history2 points
-
Topping can be done but is stressfull, all depends on the actual genetics , most of the autos i have tried dinafem, advanced genetics, seedsman usually start preflower by week 3 doing anything thereafter will stunt, if veg could be stretched a week or two longer it should be ok with topping, LST is still best for autos personally, it must be adjusted every day and some light defoliation can do wonders in the long run, i feel topping an auto is a waste, rather do it for Photos the results speak for themselves with the plants i have grown. I also used to count from after the stretch, but that is a bit hit and miss for me anyways as I found that not all plants look the same or have the same development at day 21ish.2 points

The Banana Monkey Autoflower is coming along. Not every day you see a revegging auto motherplant that gave hundreds of seeds is standing next to her children. The sick little one in the front is a rescue attempt '' Royal ak''. Had a soil ph of 4.3 when i got her.2 points

I've done a fair amount of reading into training autos for MAX yield with these short duration plants. There are loads of vids and documents covering this topic, but there seems to be conflicting opinion particularly in the newwer information when it comes to topping Autos. Some say topping shouldn't be used with autos, but others seem to think it is fine. Whats the deal? What methods have you tried? What has worked for you?1 point
-
What about super cropping? You could keep that cola but slow it down so the others can catch up?1 point

I was watching the threads on mainling/manifolding and was thinking that if I top that back cola the smaller ones would get more woema, more colas then. At this point most energy goes to the back one and smaller ones is lagging [emoji2369] Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk1 point

Hey bro! Yeah I rate you definitely could! I think it all works for the good of the plant though and the size of the colas. So there is definitely a sweet spot. Size vs number of colas. I’m going to start watching how I manage the space between colas. And opt for less colas depending on the size of the plant. And that could vary per strains... I’ve got 2 slurricane in 20l pots and they have arms reaching out all sides and I’m really just trying to manage and maintain these plants. And the BBG flowering now could have possibly done with less colas. Around 8. 1 plant has 8 and it’s performing the best. Also the smallest and most compact. But likely one of the heaviest. So that back cola will definitely stretch over at the back. However it would only be an issue if there were plants behind it. I think best to leave it. This is my advise.1 point

Thanks, we really don't need to know about Mrs Palmer & her 5 daughters and what all of you guys get up to This 8 plant limit is rather kak, some people will simply continue to grow as they did before and disregard the limit altogether. It is not a terrible limit, but at the same time it rules out certain styles of growing. Makes it less efficient too. Although the bigger picture is, why have these limits in the first place when such limits do no exists with multiple other "drugs" which are legal. I am all for an age restriction, same with cigs and alcohol. Although past that, well, we're all adults here and should be able to decide what we want to do and smoke and take - provided it does not harm anyone else.1 point

The inside ones still adjusting Looks like decent genetics so far. Very little stretch Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Coincidentally I was asked the same in person by a new grower this week. I said to the kid that generally growers don't train autos. @AcidAlice did a fantastic job topping one of their autos in this thread. However notice how much that particular auto stretched in comparison to the others. Whether that is pure luck based on the phenotype or some divine voodoo, we don't know. The point is, what if the auto you top doesn't do that? I'm not sure how you would get out of that one if your auto starts to flower very shortly after you top. Definitely this I keep all my wacky training to my photoperiods.1 point

This is exactly it, the bill is misinformed and really vague in its classifications. There is no doubt it needs huge adjustments, and I'm sure there will be. However, if these adjustments are not inline with home growers and meeting their private consumption needs it will still all be a waste of time anyway. I read an article either from Ens or Schindlers and they reckon that if the Justice department even tried to enforce the bill, they would have difficulties because of how vague it is. FOG did a review on the bill with questions and response for every paragraph, quite hilarious. So yeah things can definitely be fixed, but if the 8 flowering plants or plant equivalent thing sticks, its easy to have a gentleman's agreement with friends or family to have appropriation for excess plants preferably written up.1 point

This is why I now think they should scrap the limits entirely. Just enforce the illegal trade and completely whitelist recreational growers.1 point

Literally where I am right now I'll probably be adding that extra two weeks myself.1 point

Yes... But no. The harvest will be tiny if anything after a month of reveg. So to get this right, you will need to leave a fair amount of your harvest on the plant, as well as plenty fan leaves if you hope to have a shot. And then the reveg process may take upwards of 2 months before you see decent normal growth again... And then you will need to veg it for a while again.... And only then you might come right with a decent 2nd harvest. My advice is plant another seed or few... Or learn how to take and care for cuttings. The damage to your initial harvest will not be worth your while bro1 point

update on my grow...all doing well. Autoflower almost ready for chopping. Think another week maybe? Fan leaves starting to go yellow....mus i chopp it when its fully yellow? Or when all the trichomes are brownish?1 point

Yes, I believe temperature will affect the growth rate of the plants. Lower temps during veg certainly slow things down, although hadn't given it much thought or paid attention to how it affects flower. In winter I run a heater though so it's over 20C anyways - although before a heater slow growth for sure. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point
-
No prove yet.. but I think temperature is a factor to make them ripen slower. All my plants during winter period were slower as said by the breeders. But again.. is just a guess. I just entered week 14 ^^ with my week9 Blue CHeese hehehe but i got them 50/50 more or less now.. freakin waiting is the most annoying part of the grow cycle1 point

Hey bru! Yeah I’ve been wondering this... regarding all strains really. When does everybody classify the beginning of flowering? Do the labels means from switch or from first set of average pistol arrangement? I don’t know. Havnt seen a discussion regarding it. Interesting to know.1 point
-
Thanks for the advice @CreX , nope, first go at this, most I ever did before this was to top once. I have lowered the net and gently pulled through the colas and done the seperation: The net will be mainly for support then and not real scrog, I will try that next time maybe Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point
-
I don't think so, although light intensity would affect the yield. Not so much the flower duration. Based on my experience, seed breeders generally put a much shorter flowering time. Normally 9 to 12 weeks before most strains are ready for harvest. I don't even waste my time looking at their flowering duration. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point
