Thanks guys. TerpLoc Bags are available here, but if you're going to order other things from Hydroponic.co.za then throw the TerpLoc bags in and spread the love. If your local grow shop doesn't have them, ask them to get in touch.7 points

We did a test with some hygrometers and they work exactly as advertised. Not always the case in this industry. Other great benefits are stealth due to being odour free and terpene preservation from being air and light tight. Anti-static properties prevents trichome loss. Does not require humidipacks. The list goes on. Gave away our jars since we started using TerpLoc Bags.5 points

Greetings Weed Lovers! Wow time really does fly. I will do an update over the weekend. Managed to get them all to the end with no major problems. This was my best harvest personally, not quantity but definitely quality. A lil sneek peak Rock hard nugs, pungent deliciousness, sticky icky goodness.3 points

Hey Fellow Growers, I've started a new grow recently and I'll be posted updates here. 2x Quarter Pounder Autos (3 day germination, planted 4/10/2020) 1x Slurricane clone (Not sure about the age) Not yet added: 2x Do-si-dos photoperiod (I'll germinate these when the autos go into flower so that I can flip them after I harvest the autos) Lighting - 130 watt LED quantum board 3500k from @growopz . I'll add my QB75 when they start to flower. Medium - Orgasoilux organic living earth blend. Nutes - Biobizz grow, seagro, molasses, biobizz bloom.2 points

@zolrooker They had a big shock when i transfered them to soil. Still stunted but at least all 5 alive. After the heavy rain last weekend im having ph problems and a few lockouts outdoor. The Dr grinspoon looks weird and hardly has any bud, but its loaded with seeds. Should make interesting crosses. Everything is pollinated.2 points

Yep exactly! I've already learnt so much from this grow, can't wait to see my results and see how the next grows turn out2 points

I have tried some of the 14g and 28g bags and they do work. I placed some very dry bud in a bag and after a day it wasn't that dry. They do work but find some of the zip locks on 1 or 2 bags are not as effective. The price is really good and was my deciding factor to try it out, cheaper than a Boveda and Glass Jar.2 points

So 22 days in I am very happy with the growth. But I am starting to see some issues with my wedding gelato. Not sure whether it is wind burn or the fact that I didn't PH balance my water for the first couple of feeds? I have started feeding Worm Juice with Calmag and slight molasses with a PH range between 6.3 and 6.7. Within the next week I will consider topping some of the ladies to start the mainline training. Franco's lemon cheese was killed in action - RIP so Chocolate Haze will fill that void. One day I will do a K.I.A run for all those ladies that didn't pull through on germination. Welcome.. Here I will share my current flowering plants. They are local genetics except one: 1 x Choc Kush ( Totemic) 1 x Double stuffed sherbert (garden route genetics) 1 x KB7 (garden route genetics) 1 x Sherb breathe ( garden route genetics) 1 x Jacob's Ladder ( round table genetics) They have been in veg for a while and finally have space for the to flower. Jacob's Ladder below first time doing a scrog, will see how this play out. Setup is in the garage with a hill billy dang thang going on, size is 1.4 x 1.2 and running 3 x 400W HPS lights. Took clones from all the plants, and did not have space for the other 3 that was planned to move in together. They back in the veg appt doing their thing.1 point

Good evening my fellow green fingers.. Below a T-1000 gifted to me by Bay Seeds. This litlle girl is going strong and showed sex about a week ago. I potted her up yesterday and she seems to not have been disturbed at all. I will be keeping this updated on a weekly basis from now on. Expecting this girl to be huge so will be training her from early on.1 point

Today was the day for the first topping of the mainline run. Very sad to see bushy plants stripped to the bone all for the sake of some thick and dense ass nugs.. but nevertheless the growth rate of the ladies will see them recover in no time. Definitely the two front runners for aggressive growth and super tight node structure would be Glookies and Upper Cut. Some of the cuttings were treated with rooting powder and fixed in peat pellets to supply a mate with some clones for a run. One positive of the mainline exercise is the intense amount of clone cuttings one can take while shaping the mainline. On the negative though I feel you do lose veg time as the ladies have to recover and bulk back up before the next topping and trimming hits. Only the late entrant, Chocolate Haze, was spared for this exercise Before After1 point

Thanks guys, came close to giving up but hopefully its all relatively smooth sailing from here1 point

@Aeradix Ahh nice! Now how well does it work in terms of containing smell? If you leave a bag with 50g of some strong smelling bud inside your car on a hot day and come back to your car 2 or 3 hours later... Will it really not smell at all like weed? I know if I even take 2 or 3g in a small ziplock and put it in my car, go to the shops before stopping at a friends place ... the car smells pretty dank. Keeping jars with boveda in a cupboard, you open the cupboard and you can smell its a bit funky. Similar case with these bags or does it really not leak smell at all?1 point

Great observation. I for one like to jar my bud slightly dryer than usual and reintroduce moisture during the curing process. It appears these bags are capable of two-way humidity control on their own. R50 for a TerpLoc bag that holds 226g of flower. That beats any glass jar that can fit that amount plus a Boveda pack. These TerpLocs also hide odour which is a great plus. I was skeptical at first but after reading more for this post I think I might just give this a go on my next harvest.. as long as they are still in stock when I'm ready1 point

This is a good sign that you're near harvest, although keep in mind some strains will just keep doing this over and over and at some point you will just need to decide to cut. From your pictures I'd say you're in the harvest window, and with your desire to harvest at peak THC (for a more euphoric effect, as you say) I'd say you're good to go if you would like to harvest.1 point

I have found with my Virginia that the lower bigger leaves have a higher sugar and lower nicotine content when I harvest them yellow. Very much cigarette tobacco. The smaller top leaves are usually still quite a bit greener, and cure to that cigar taste without any roasting, just a dry and bag cure.1 point

The bacillus strain bacteria is effective at fending off PM how effective each strain is compared to that of another bacillus strain, well thats another set of trials in its own but Bacillus amyloliquefaciens is pretty good I think. Can be used thoroughly There are trials available for controlled testing on their page. Can definitely agree with its effectiveness https://vuna-agri-shop.com/amylo-x/ Same as Disease-Pro1 point

I would put a fan on it and check the humidity. You need some sort of airflow. You stand a chance of getting mold bud.1 point

Hi guys. The harvest on my autoflower was good, but the drying is making me worry...its suppose to be about 10 days for drying. Its currently day 8....but stil feels wet. Not even a crunch on the outside yet....its in my garage dark with no fan.... Any tips? Below my update on one of my untested seeds i bought that actually looks pretty dam good at the moment! Hopefully the yields will be as good as the frosting1 point

@zolrooker plant it you won't be dissapointed, I was also under the impression for many years that good skuif is all about THC and didn't pay attention to anything else but I learned my lesson the hard way why CBD content is so important even if its a small amount - one day I smoked a double bladder of some bud (forgot what it was) with a really high THC but only .02+/- CBD content (according to dispensary) so I roll it up and the first half of the joint was loving it, super nice flavour, decent strength, no complaints & puffing away nicely, but on the second half of the joint 5 minutes in the stone is coming on nicely but something started feeling off i got this overwehelming wave of nausiating warmth with an urgent need to sit cause it felt my knees couldn't support my weight, forehead covered im sweat, was litterally vibrating from feeling super tingly & super anxious lol I was like WTF cause I constantly smoked strains with 20%+ and it never made me anxious or anything like that so the dude at dispensary highlighted the fact that that strain has almost no CBD in it to counteract the THC & I wasn't the first to complain That's when I learnt every cannabinoid has its place1 point

So we are 15 days in since the 6 seeds were dropped in peat pellets. All the ladies are rooting very nicely. Franco's lemon cheese is almost there but not sure whether this shock early on will stunt the rest of her growth? The back up Chocolate Haze germinated successfully and was transplanted during the week. Still just sticking to very light watering every 2nd or 3rd odd day. Hoping the inherent nutes in the soil will last for 3 to 4 odd weeks. Stand out lady is already identified as Glookies. Super fast growth and very very tight node spacing. I rate take a couple pics with the flash on and the lights off. That will give you a really good idea of where your trichomes are at. Ideally you want all of the trichomes to be cloudy, no clear trichomes, and a couple amber trichomes here and there. Otherwise I agree, maybe push another week for the buds to get a little more ripe. I'll post our handy little trichome guide here as well just for the info.1 point
-
Is that plant seeded? To me it looks as if it could possibly still fatten up a bit - although always harvest based on the trichomes and their colouring. That is how you tell how ripe / mature it is.1 point

Coming together slowly. I'm now stuck on the ventilation component, but I have time this afternoon to do some reading. If any of you have a good link or two to share, I'd be most appreciative. Thanks for all the assistance and advice so far! This community is very different to the 'various FB pages I look at.1 point

Personally I think 600W MH for those sized plants (and especially from seed for that matter) is way too much power. I can mainline two different plants fully throughout veg with just a single 250W MH, and even then I'm only going to use 400W HPS in flower for two plants, 16 colas total between them. I'd use 600W MH/HPS if I were growing a SCrOG per 1.2m², and even then if you can afford a 600W kit you'd then rather go 250W Quantum Board cause then you don't need as much cooling plus you get better spread. But these are recent lessons of mine and I'm doing one more round with the bulbs before converting myself over fully to Quantum Boards.1 point

Yes im using 600w MH on 18 hours cycle. Well the PH measuring tool i have says its between 6 and 7. Maybe its faulty but still new though..... Temp ranges between from 20 to 27 degrees...1 point

Agree with the bark(acidic) and ''nursery potting soil'' comments. Most ''store bought'' mixes are not ideal for cannabis-some are even lethal. Would suggest you look at aerating the mix as well by adding some perlite, it will also aid with drainage. Also with that size bag, go easy on the watering. Those size bags will take long to dry out, you risk the seedlings damping off. Those size seedlings need about 250ml every 3rd day only and no nutes untill about 3 weeks old. Precisely. Just wanted to confirm if they're autos before commenting this because I know a lot of growers like to start autos in the final pot. Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk1 point

Your soil looks like it contains lot's of bark etc which cannabis doesn't like so much in my experience. What soil are you using?1 point
-
Okay.....i went back to my lighting and yes MH is currently runnig. So my mind was confused.... Im useing seedling mix i got from the nursery where i planted them in thats mixed with another type of potting material( very fine and fluffy). Didnt use small pot bags....planted them straight in big ones. They do have drainage holes I am also only watering them when they get littlw dry ontop. And then use the misting spray for inbetween. I have a humidifier running that brings the humidity up to 70%. But it fluctuate between 30 to 70.... I dont have a grow tent. Made a diy setup hahahaha1 point

How about putting up some pictures of your plants man, it would help us see where they're at and give us a look at your soil... And yeah, MH for veg, HPS for flower. Also, what's you RH at and do you mean by regular watering?... Seedlings don't need that much water I feel. My seedlings spend the first week in a really small container and get watered every 2nd day. I ensure the top 2-3cm of the soil is dry before I water it again as the roots need a healthy wet and dry cycle. I transplant into the veg container at day 7 or 8 and saturate the medium that's around the transplanted medium so the roots search out for water. From my experience, plants that are 9 days old have been properly watered a maximum of 4 times. I use a spritz bottle to mist the seedlings on the days in between if need be. This of course is for soil. A hydro setup would be different. Anyway, if you could share some more info on your grow, that would help a lot... Those pictures also [emoji1362] Sent from my POCOPHONE F1 using Tapatalk1 point

Eish post me which internet tuned you that. MH is veg, HPS is flower. Like I say ching chong, I think you should raise your temps at night, and a method of doing that with bulbs is to keep the lights on 24hrs. Ain't no problem. 18-6 is good to help with temp management when things are too hot. It is also the gold standard of light timing in veg. However, 24hrs is also just as fine. I like it when you talk foreign to me.1 point
-
That's fine for distance. Try getting your night-time temps up in the 20's during veg. If you're not worried about electricity costs, you can tune your lights to 24hrs in veg to help with the temps. Also, patience. The seedlings are probably working on their roots when you don't see much leaf development, then all of a sudden you see a boom in growth. Just keep them happy for now, definitely get those night temps up for now. I also assume you know a 600W HPS isn't the best for veg but if you need one bulb for a whole grow a 600W HPS will do it. Just beware you may have stretchy plants in veg by using the HPS bulb. MH bulbs keep the plants nice and short. Swazi is a sativa so it's already a stretchy plant by nature, so you will definitely have to top or something to tame her indoors.1 point
