  1. 10 Days From Seed Found some nice trays at Westpack to use for overflow when watering. Got the QB set to 100W at the moment and the plants are responding well. Watered again for the first time today since the transplant on Tuesday (5 days ago). So far smooth and sweet.

  2. Day 38 and 26 for#4. Still the same routine as far as watering and yard time goes. Water when thirsty and outdoors as often as possible. Back left, middle right and bottom left are #1, #3 and #4. Still no sex showing unless I missed something and 1 and 3 are female. They are on 12/12 now if they want to share the cabinet with my Jack Berry (centre) and Strawberry Cheesecake (back right). I stopped the LST very fast. Let sleeping dogs lie for now, only my 2nd indoor grow and I want to play around with autos!! #4 has been left to do it's own thing and looking good. I planted the last 2 seeds, once again thanks @Bay Seeds. This time: into water for just under 36 hours (I wait until seed drops to bottom of glass), onto soil in 10l pot and covered with mainly coir. 3 and 4 days later broke soil. 5 out of 6 not bad considering I probably FCUK'd up #2 myself using the paper towel method. Non the less, I'm happy. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  6. Howzit fine people. Next run on the go. Next seed supplier on the hit list "Groen seeds" . . . They had a special on that i couldnt resist. So apparently these are autos. But unknown strains. They had a bag of 5 autos for 100 bucks. I also ran out of pots. So had to make a plan. According to my estimates. They are in 12 liters of soil. And the small pot is a 8 liter. Potted on thursday morning. 14-10-20 Freedom farms soil. Biobizz nutez.

  11. With regards to the proposed plant counting law - how exactly are cops expected/supposed to enforce this without a warrant? Its not like they issuing us growers a license where we will all be registered/be logged onto a registry where the cops can perform a random inspection once every 4 months like they do with pawn shops when checking for stolen gold etc I just dont understand how they could proceed to enforce this plant count without explicit evidence that you in breach - the onus is on cops to prove probable cause yes but as far as i know having a prima facie case doesn't give the cops grounds to search a private residence as this would be impeding/violating your constitutional right to privacy, not so? Public spaces completely different story - if you walking in the street & cop skeefs you out for whatever there they allowed to stop/search you & use the probable cause excuse to justify the search (their opinion that your demeanor was suspicious)

  12. Can't help you with commercial preparations. The leaves are pretty brittle when dried though, and turn to dust easy. Perhaps re moistening helps make the leaves a bit more leathery and workable again.

  13. Just thought of posting a topic about the pot politrix in the cannabis industry, and to all the wonderful angry trolls out there. Its really a sad affair and screws up what needs to be done. If you planning on getting involved or supporting cannabis, bashing peoples efforts is not the right way forward. Alot of it is 2nd hand information, fear, jealousy and coming from guys with vested interests in cannabiz. Focus on your own closest and start something big, go for it and dont let trolls stop you. This joint is for my trolls.

  15. If i had to choose to only use one of the above CMH gets my vote. The spectrum is hands down the best at the price however you will need to cool it in the summer as it creates heat. If you dont want to cool your grow with an AC then Samsung led's will be your next best bet. I personally use a 315w cmh with 240w worth of Samsung strips best spectrum best efficiency but i do run AC
    1 point
  16. @Greg if you decide to go the strips route, I have some aluminium extrusions which are perfect as LED strip heatsinks. I want to get rid of them, so you can have them for free. @silverdelange that light will work, however its based on older LED technology - so price may be good but won't compare to the newer Quantum Boards with Samsung LM301B/H diodes. Also its not 1000W, that is marketing unfortuantely. Its probably between 100w and 240w only.

  17. @Chris Jay good to see you again. Just been growing tobacco hey?
    1 point
  18. Yeah straight up good luck right now with a HID lighting setup and no AC going into summer. Yes HPS has the best spectrum for bloom out of all of the options, but we talking 1000W HPS here, so unless you're going with that I don't think it should be an option at all. @Greg you mentioned the CMH bulbs are more expensive than HPS, but you forgot to mention CMH bulbs last as long as LEDs (50 000 hrs) and HPS bulbs last maybe a good 2-3 grows. Fork out the dosh and go LED. I can tell you what's going to happen if you go bulbs. You're going to play around for a month trying to sort the temps, you're gonna invest in an expensive extraction system to get all that hot air out, then two years down the line you will finally replace it all with an LED because you realised the shop guy talked too much.

  24. Keep the youngsters on the wet side. To much would be a standing water swamp... give a few ml a day. Put a moisture dome over to keep humidity high and prevent total dry out of the top soil. Keep it warm.

  25. Led. Heat is not your friend. Check the DIY section. I posted a couple of light builds there and it you are not a DIY guy you can pick up a 240w QB for R4500.

  26. In my personal opinion i rate MH for veg and HPS for flower as the best light range. How ever, the amount of heat they emmit and the hanging distance restriction, due to that issue, bring other disadvantages to you. LED wins in the over all home grower benefits cathegory. It creates more light and less heat per kw used. In grower terms, you also have to spend less energy to cool the produced heat down again. If you calculate just how much a light cost, you make a huuuuuge mistake... the light cost get taken over by eskom power cost within a year. Calculate the light cost per year you run it... and you will notice, LEDs are faaaaaar ahead, low consumption, 50000 hours light on average. Then select the light strenght by grow space. 400 to 500 watt LED for 1.2x1.2 meter and 500 to 600 watt on a 1.5x1.5 area... more is wasting energy. If you go big... you might keep starting investment low and go MH and HPS.. but cooling will come back to bite you in your ass. For home growers i recommend to go LED to make your life way easier and keep running cost low. And my preferred ending... so how exactly do you know how to hang your diy lamp??? To much or to little light will hinder your grow results. Is like you build yourself a ac cobra kit car and add no speedometer... you drive around with zero clues how fast.

  27. Lmfao 20x 1/2 footers fullly flowering!!! oh lord lets hope they not auto's otherwise our friend is going to spend the season to yield a whole 30g.... Scrap the plant count rule as its exceptionally illogical and limits growers in many different ways & fields - average grower is unable to grow a variety of different strains, breeders or anyone interested in breeding will also be set back trying to isolate a phenotype or create a strain with only 8 plants when males will also count towards plant tally...nooit Its just as retarded as goverment saying we only allowed 2 different types of hard liqour with quantity limited to a case per household (they'll close bottlestore over weekend during covid but will never restrict qty, so wtf is going on here) But yeah the bill as it stands misses the mark for entrepreneurship too as its just way too ambiguious as to when & how cops can litigate a case against you let unless you've given them permission to enter premesis but again on what grounds would they be at your place in the first place - even if your neighbour complains they can't perform a search on private residence without a warrant which will never be issued as its based on hearsay I would like to say the quantity limit is a better solutuon, 1.2kg at any given time is sufficient for most but again how exactly do they plan on regulating this? Theres no license so there's no registry of growers...this is what I mean by too much ambiguity one thing Is for sure; ambiguity in litigation never ends well for the guy with the least power especially when you have a bill which in its current form could be interpreted entirely differently from person to person/cop to cop and if cops were allowed to randomly inspect a premesis, prosecution becomes your last concern as this opens up the potential for cops to exploit & extort with threats of long jail time It seems RSA has copy/pasted a large % of the bills content from the Canadians - they also list heavy sentences for dealing to minors (up to 14yrs) smoking in presence of minors or balcony of flat where neighbour objects etc (fine or up to 2years) - I'm certain 99% of cases result in a fine with the most blatant being prosecuted - at least there if u run a scam like Canapax & get a 14 year sentence you can opt for "weekend jail"....rotflmao (Yes weekemnd jail is actually a real thing there, no bullshit lol!!!)

  35. Super topic. Also have some lockdown tobacco plants in my garden growing nicely. Easy plants to maintain and grow rapidly. I flippen bought 4 kilos of dried tobacco leaves about 5 days before the end of lockdown, drats. But always in need of mix! @Totemic you seem to know alot about tobacco. I am interested to know more about the processing of the leaves for commercial cigarettes. What is the point of dehydrating the leaves and rehydrating leaves before it is cut into something that you can roll? What suggestions do you have for home toasting your leaves?

  39. It's always interesting for me to see how people say the word 'dagga' like they just want to spit it out. You can feel how discusted they are by it. So brainwashed. Fascinating and sad at the same time. I don't feel it made me 'disabled' at school. If anything I was more focussed. Watching this however really gave me braincramps...

  40. There is already 3 or 4 other people doing the same in ct. I think they should rather include the club structure in the bill so that the clubs can be regulated. There will always be people who cannot grow for themselves.

  41. You can be extra safe and deactivate it on your mobiles settings to be absolutely certain its not included in the metadata in the first place if I'm not mistaken metadata can be extracted from any image using specialised software but don't have first hand knowledge of efficacy so rather play it safe and turn it off all together - average person has no use for geolocation in images unless one wants to play inspector so in my opinion rather be safe than sorry

  43. Update time... @Dank check it out bro... The exos chillin in some coco here on the east coast... Remember sending me some fresh cuttings straight of the moms. We didn't have high expectations but agreed it was worth a shot seeing as you were already sending me other gear. Well bro... Roots roots roots. So 420sa this is proof that if you want to donate a few cuts to other members you don't need to go thru the whole cloning process and special packaging. A ziplock bag and some wet leaves is all you need.

  44. Sounds lekker man, Ethos has some nice gear. Feel free to start a "Line up" thread in the "Whats in your stable" section of the group, there you can showcase your motherplants if u wanted too. As the thread grows it will be easy to go see the LineUp threads of growers for those sharing cuts.

  45. Great Idea! I have Ethos Forbidden skittles and Ethos Wedding Cake clones going atm.The wedding cake is a bit sweet for me,but she kicks nicely.I prefer something with a little bit of sour/spice or diesel to cut that sweetness. The f-skittles is around 4 weeks away from harvest, but the clones already have roots. She also smells very sweet Clone transporters (6 pack around R50-60) - https://www.google.com/search?q=clone+transporters

  46. Flippen nice idea this. Clone transport seems iffy but wtf. Indoor growers will have a bit of an advantage wrt to cloning and vegging abilities all year round. But summer is around the corner, then the outdoor growers can play ball too.
