Good day fellow cannabis lovers. I have a short story to share on this topic. I have been purchasing seeds for many years now and I have purchased most of my library from places like cannasmiths, BnB's and trophy seeds. I make it a point to try seed banks that I come across and give them a fair go. So some free advertising for these 2 seed banks. Recently I have tried 2 online shops africansmoke and budbuddies. For the africansmoke order I purchased some slurricane seeds from Inhouse genetics so it was a pricey order and the budbuddies order was a small 1 at about 1k with some ripper genetics. African smoke order took 16 hours to arrive at my door from the time of placing the order not the time of payment. Not only was it 16 hours but I received 6 free seeds and half a g of dab. The budbuddies order took a similar time to arrive around 16 to 18 hours and I received 10 free ripper Badazz seeds. So my experience has been more then excellent with these online shops. From someone who has been around the block this was a first. Just my experience. I would say put those bros up on this board!6 points

Water properly to get the entire medium evenly wet. Then wait a day or 3 and water the same.6 points

Update before harvest! Week 10 day 4 Thrichome's half clear half milky, I decreased the light intensity, stopped watering and turned temp controller down to 23 degrees soooo let's hope it speeds it up [emoji2369]. Second run in the same soil with minimum amendments added was cost effective but also looks like the soil was a bit better. I'm not going to do a third grow in the same soil although I think it might work. Next batch of soil has been cooling for 3 weeks and should be ready to go. Must say I'm impressed with the Living Organics soil method, it was just a bit easier than bottled nutes (I'm not dishing bottled nutes) and il stick to soil for now. Hope you guys enjoyed the grow and will update as I harvest and final yield. [emoji120] Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk5 points

32 days since germination and most of the ladies took very well to the first topping run.. all except Wedding Gelato. I had a chat with a friend and have a slight suspicion that I might have had a bag of hot soil that I used when I potted her. She was the only lady to show drastic nutrient burn without a nutrient schedule even being applied. As awesome as the mate could be he gifted me a clone cutting to fill the void of the inevitable dying Wedding Gelato sad but let's move on.. By this weekend I will be doing the second topping on all the ladies and the first topping of the late entrant, Chocolate Haze. Glookies Uppercut Chocolate Haze3 points

Looking rather dry. With this hot weather, make sure not to let them dry up too much. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk3 points

Yes, been growing a fair amount since lockdown started. About 25 plants in total, also loads of veggies. Lekker to be eating out the garden everyday again.3 points

Since Cannabist went off the reservation, @Sacred Seeds has become my go to. Every order has been delivered in breeders packaging with surplus seeds and paraphernalia (plenty rolling papers, a grinder etc).2 points

Bro your plants are gorgeous, so much variety you are in for a treat. When I've have fungus gnats my first goal is to dry out that top layer of soil, gnat larvae cant survive in dry soil. Next thing is a top dress of Diatomacious Earth, I personally use Karbadust but alot of growers object to it so rather use DE if you have it. Main thing with fungus gnats is to make sure that top layer of soil isn't wet for long periods of time, that is their breeding grounds.2 points

@Farmer Brown thank you for sharing good sir. That's why I love this forum. I have never used any of the two suppliers you have mentioned but I had a quick look at both websites. My next seed purchase will most definitely be through African Smoke. They have a very cool website that's mobile friendly and you won't get confused with the quality of genetics on offer as it seems they only stock top shelf gear. And to top it all off they have a Helping hand project page where they work with charities. One specific chairty that caught my eye was Wollies Animal project. Much love for Wollies with the wife an avid supporter and us having a Wollies adoptees. So explaining purchases to her will be a lot easier2 points

Thanks John! The two bigger plants had their first night out of the screens last night and I doused them in Margaret Roberts garlic and canola. The one plant was munched before I opened them up. They both survived the temperature fluctuations and another day. I'm pleased with progress generally but this is going to be a labour of love, hand rearing these outdoor plants. They need constant attention at this stage. Soon they will be vegging powerfully and hopefully less maintenance will be required. When I sprayed them this evening, a cloud of aphids flew off the unscathed one. I will have to watch that closely. There are no crawlers on the leaves yet and I hope to keep it that way. I'll buy ant traps if necessary too. I have a more potent muti than the Margaret Roberts which I must make this weekend. It has cayenne, marigold, pennyroyal, canola, casteel, onion and garlic and bicarb and works pretty darn well. If these bugs give me kak I will use Diatomaceous Earth too, as no bees are going to be around them at this stage of their development, and that stuff is pretty effective imo.2 points

They're using the 'H' type. The 'H' driver is 91% - (you are presumably using the 'L' one then.) Yeah the drivers will let you push them way over max, especially the CV ones, but it's obviously not recommended, as the temps go to max.2 points

@Onion great stuff man. Yeah we do have some epic landraces that flourish in our environment. Currently I have some different strain ladies chilling in the tent and then we also run some herbs and veggies in a mini greenhouse. We currently have rocket, basil, coriander, dill and pumpkin. All of them germinated from seed. So not really as extensive as your list but you have to start somewhere. And on a side note we got our first swarm scouts checking out our beehive this spring. So hopefully some honey soon as well Happy growing brother2 points

Yeah, they need to mature on the plant and dry out. Makes a rattler out of the pod. Then the seeds are dry and good to go. As for times frames...I've never paid attention.2 points

I would not feed anything during veg with the freedomfarms soil. I do add half the recommended biobizz bloom during flower once a week only.2 points

Damn, that didn't last long, I went away for a day and returned to find a larvae or worm munching on the last bit of the cotyledons. I think for the next grow I'll start in a jiffy pot. This soil has too many living things for the seedling I reckon. I'm going to go away next week, so I'll probably only germinate next weekend again. Seeds I have at the moment: Fast buds: White Widdow ministry of cannabis: blueberry domina x2 Fast buds: Jack Herer Fast Buds: Northern lights Any recommendations on what I should try next?2 points

Amnesia Haze - Day 32. This lady is a real mover and shaker. I've ordered more of these beans I can do AH only run. Seemango - Day32. Starting to Bloom! Looks like the beginnings chemical burn though? As always, opinions, crit and advise always welcome. Thanks for creating such a rad learning environment.2 points

I have been looking into this and found the following. Local fabric pots prune the roots through air pruning, but this allows the soil to dry too quickly. There is a brand in the US that wraps there fabric pots in a white film, stops the medium from drying too quickly and the white colour aids with heat in the root zone when in direct sunlight. These pots prune the roots through root entrapment.2 points

Hey all, Here's an update on the grow. I attempted to FIM and play around with super cropping on the slurricane clone. I've only used LST before on my autos. But I'm really happy with how well she responded. Her last feed was on Friday 16 Oct which is the same day I fimmed and pinched. I just gave her a light dosage of seagro. Quarter Pounder Autos are at day 16 since being planted. A little stretch on the 1. But I'll keep a close watch. I'll most likely start some LST on the autos next week or this weekend.2 points

So the C4 is carrying on, nearing the end of the 3rd week since she first showed pistils. Buds are building slowly and I have just started to introduce Topmax to the party. Flash and no flash main bud:2 points

@Totemic with 500 seeds per flower, how many seeds would have to plant to be sure 1 plant would germinate?1 point

Yeah I've been watering the plug with a bigass syringe (100ml) slowly letting it seep down the plug then cover it with a bit of dry coco so it doesn't dry out - I'm a bit reluctant to saturate the soil just yet (especially the slurry) but if you reckon I'm being a bit too paranoid please feel free to drop a suggestion1 point

Growth is kicking off but still got some discoloration on lower leaves - might need to treat again by weekend Bucket grow also taking on nicely Spotted some budrot after last nights rain - immediately chopped it Close up After chop1 point

Day 38 and 26 for#4. Still the same routine as far as watering and yard time goes. Water when thirsty and outdoors as often as possible. Back left, middle right and bottom left are #1, #3 and #4. Still no sex showing unless I missed something and 1 and 3 are female. They are on 12/12 now if they want to share the cabinet with my Jack Berry (centre) and Strawberry Cheesecake (back right). I stopped the LST very fast. Let sleeping dogs lie for now, only my 2nd indoor grow and I want to play around with autos!! #4 has been left to do it's own thing and looking good. I planted the last 2 seeds, once again thanks @Bay Seeds. This time: into water for just under 36 hours (I wait until seed drops to bottom of glass), onto soil in 10l pot and covered with mainly coir. 3 and 4 days later broke soil. 5 out of 6 not bad considering I probably FCUK'd up #2 myself using the paper towel method. Non the less, I'm happy. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

I decided the C4 needed some company outside so popped a Mexican Airlines, also by Fastbuds and apparently the "purest sativa strain they offer." She has just started to flower, although the leaves and pre flower stretch don't scream sativa, I am still hopeful.1 point
