  1. Sorry I didn't update this thread earlier but the plants are done a few weeks ago #2 #3 #6

  2. You can also water from the bottom with trays, your medium will suck up the water and you can leave it dryer on top to get rid of the larva Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk

  3. Yea #3 has solid power and taste to combine with her looks. But the #6 has the best taste and quality of high, as well as a bit more yield than the #3. For my seed line I'm thinking of doing a F2BX onto the #3 since she looks so pretty I think the growers would appreciate her as the mother plant using males with 50% of her genetics. I'm trying to isolate good outdoor qualities as well and the #3 has the best resistance to mildew and bud rot so that counts for a lot in my books.

  4. @PuffPuffPass Yes, you can still use it now - there is no bud formation and not even many pistils. Pyrol alone should suffice to be honest and I know of people who have used pyrol during flower even. Neem you may want to be more cautious of when using it though, preferably not during flower. This is what Pyrol looks like: At least the brand I use. Nurseries should stock it, perhaps even builders. Various online grow stores as well.

  6. Looks like a female straight onto training. How far along not sure not keeping track but planning on potting up to 40L soon and putting her in a partial greenhouse space I managed to put together. Also planning on working with this potted soil throughout the season. So let’s see how the first plant does...

  7. Personally I would recommend Jamies soil or Organics Matter. The others to me are, as you say, more base soils that will need feeding. There's no guarantee that Jamies soil or the OM soil won't need feeding but far less so than the others on the market IMO.

  8. Girls are looking swell, they've had two small feedings of bioblizz grow, strayed with neem oil twice, to prevent fungus Nats also put some river sand to prevent them from laying eggs! As soon as those two big girls start flowering they're going outside! Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk

  9. I've used Freedom Farms and Just Cannabis. I would put them in the standard or average category. Good for a base line soil. I have not used Jamie's Garden Soil Orgasoilux but have been intrigued by it since the first time I saw it (asked a reputable source how his trial was and he confirmed it). If the ratios are correct, which i'm sure they would be. That would have to be the most complete, all rounded soil on the market in SA today. To have that many ingredients and still come out around the same price as other brands definitely means other brands should go back to the drawing board. In terms of what you are getting for your money. Orgasoilux is far above. But then again, very easy running into problems with feeding, because you don't really need too.

  10. They're already rooted, right? Are they in soil or coco? In coco, you start one with a low dose. First true leaves dose should be fine. In soil you could possibly get away with them not getting any feed or you can use a low dose as well. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  12. I’ve done the rounds on the seed banks here in South Africa. The best for me are @TrophySeeds @Biltong and Budz and Smoking Gun. I have never tried @Sacred Seeds as they have never had strains I have wanted. I recently made a purchase from https://budbuddies.co.za and got surprised with 2 free sample strains sealed from Barney’s farm as well as a grinder. I paid with Snap Scan and the guys sent my order with the Courier guy within hours. I also bought a set of platinum jelly from African Smoke this week, they were not as fast but can confirm that they have shipped my order. I’ll see what is in the package when it arrives. I am also an unlucky sucker that got ripped off from the Cannabist for R3600 for 20 Liberty Haze seeds. Funny thing is that the dude replied to my mail saying a week and then never again. I’ve asked my bank to reverse the payment and in the event that the Cannabist denies the reversal, they will give me Cannabist’s actual contact details. I’m not sure if anyone else has done the same?

  13. Whatsup Guys :) Been a little off the radar lately, been super busy. So the grow has been going well and most of the girls are looking good (pls excuse the lighting in some photos). Unfortunately we have had a ton of fungus gnats in our area for the last month or so and they seem to have made it inside the tent (1st photo shows the leaves yellowing w/ brown spots - only a couple plants have this happening). New growth looks okay. I assume they are fungus gnat larvae but am not entirely sure - I can't get a photo because they move too quickly. They look like little worms/maggots, long and thin. Whitish, about 2mm long. I noticed them 2 days ago when I began to water. As the water drained down through the coco, I saw quite a few of them moving about in the water. When the water drained completely and they touched the coco's surface, they jumped around a few cms and then burrowed under again... Almost all pots have the larvae Besides bug barriers on intake and exhaust, towels under the doors, organic insect spray around the windows and doors outside the building, manually squishing them, I have followed the treatment below for the last 48 hours (also been keeping the temp low and RH as dry as possible): * Oct 19 - Added 3ml of 50% strength HYDROGEN PEROXIDE per 5L of water and gave along with nutrients as the girls needed to be fed and watered that day. * Oct 20 - Sprayed the surface of the coco with BioGrow's PYROL. 40ml per 1L @ 60ml per small pot. I sprayed liberally until surface was wet, and covered the base of the stem too. I avoided leaves and buds very carefully. Since then I've found out that Pyrol only kills the eggs and flying gnats, not the larvae I suppose it will kill the gnats as soon as they emerge. If the peroxide doesn't kill them. * Oct 21, today, pending - (some plants are very dry and ready to be watered). My current plan is to add 4ml of peroxide, increased dose, per 5L of PH balanced water and water them as usual. I will also be mounting some sticky cards horizontally the the medium surface. Anyone care to share how they deal with fungus gnats? Could I be doing anything better or differently (besides the obvious prevention)? I did prevention-spray several times before flower with a product called "Buddi All-Rounder" but not much of it went onto the surface of the coco so was clearly ineffective. Today I discovered a Margaret Roberts product called "Biological Mosquito Insectacide". It kills the larvae too. Wish I knew of it earlier! Ordered it today but will probably only arrive in 2 days. Could I be doing anything in the meantime? Thanks guys! (Below pics are auto GSC, LSD, AK x Critical Mass, UK Cheese)

  14. Unfortunately not. I would also think twice about https://www.cannabisseed.co.za . The seeds don’t come in the original sealed breeder packs.

  16. Hi all I'm going to put some pics up here of some Durban x Columbian plants that I kept from cuttings of the last round of seed pops. They have just been put to flowering photoperiod this afternoon and should take about 12 weeks to finish. #2 #6 If you have any questions I'd be happy to answer.

  18. I assume its GHE nutes? You can move over to the first true leaves, that should be fine. I wouldn't have added the worm castings, will mess with the ratios a bit now.

  20. I'm keen to get a feel on what you guys may like to see stocked in our store in the future. Right now, it's very much a sideline project with not much attention paid to it although in the future I'd like it to stock unique genetics that our local breeders can offer. Other than that I don't want to stock it with items you'll find in many other online stores. I want it to be a bit more niche. Let us know what you would like to see in the store

  21. Looks like damage from pests. I was thinking thrips, but could be spider mites too I guess. You really need to take a close look at the underside of the leaves as the pests are very very small and will look like a small speck of something (white, red, black etc.) Here is an imagine, as you can see it is zoomed in. Look how small that thrip is: If it is pests, which I think it is, then pyrol works really well. Neem can work well too if you already have it. I have even used a mixture of pyrol and neem together. For spider mites, here is a picture to help you out: When you spray the pesticides, make sure you get underneath the leaves as well as mosts pests like to hide under the leaf. You will need to spray all your plants as well. Best to use a spreading agent as well to ensure the mixture stays in the leaves and does not bead and roll off.

  25. Hey Organinc, thanks bud :) They got big so fast man, the first time I've worked with autos, so I was surprised at the speed :) The LSD from FastBuds is particularly impressive. They've been dry as a bone for 1.5 days now. Pots are now super light and some the plants are drooping alot. The plants that have yellow and spotty leaves are being hit the hardest by the gnat larvae and those are especially feeling the dryness, with some leaf tips curling up as of yesterday afternoon. I dimmed the lights lower last night to avoid overdehydration, say 1/3 power, and early this morning switched lights off completely, ready to water now... Should I hold on longer before I water?? A couple plants are looking like they might be getting damaged from being so dry. I'm not sure if they'll make 7 days of dryness, not sure exactly how long I can take them before doing irreversible damage.... The fabric pots are real small, only 5L and so they dry out pretty quickly. Looking forward to hearing about the Gelato BL :) :)

  26. I've only had PM issues once. I was growing in a wendy, but I never tried to save plants. There are lots of posts online that indicate that the plants must be destroyed as the mold spores can be harmful to the health, even though its being burned. Maybe there is a wise person who can assist you with the answers you require.

  31. I just want to clarify that the FF I used with only water from veg to flower I did add the Fire Juice. Its the FF Custom Crafted soil and not the Green Premium bag, with the Green Bag I did need to feed so I'm only using the Green bag with small plants to get a good root system going and when repotting from a 1-2 L into final I used the Custom Crafted. 32. Fungus gnats are a tricky one, especially if you are so far into flowering... And by the way those buds are looking amazing man! Really nicely done. The easiest way to rid your self of fungus gnats is let your pots dry until your plants cant take it anymore 5 - 7 days or so. And then be careful not to over water, because they thrive in damp conditions. Then once dried up etc. the pyrol for me worked like a charm even for the larvae. But I did notice I was never really completely rid of the problem, they still out and about, but definitely got it under control. Also be sure there are no wet spots in the tent from watering and stuff, it does mean more work but it will help. Again very nicely done. Those plants seemed to grow over night... Trying my hand at Autos currently. Well 1 Gelato bin Laden from President seeds I got for free. Think ill start a report.

  38. Other things you can do is yellow sticky strips and direct a fan over the top of your pots (stops the fungus gnats from landing on your soil).

  41. Bro your plants are gorgeous, so much variety you are in for a treat. When I've have fungus gnats my first goal is to dry out that top layer of soil, gnat larvae cant survive in dry soil. Next thing is a top dress of Diatomacious Earth, I personally use Karbadust but alot of growers object to it so rather use DE if you have it. Main thing with fungus gnats is to make sure that top layer of soil isn't wet for long periods of time, that is their breeding grounds.

  42. @Farmer Brown thank you for sharing good sir. That's why I love this forum. I have never used any of the two suppliers you have mentioned but I had a quick look at both websites. My next seed purchase will most definitely be through African Smoke. They have a very cool website that's mobile friendly and you won't get confused with the quality of genetics on offer as it seems they only stock top shelf gear. And to top it all off they have a Helping hand project page where they work with charities. One specific chairty that caught my eye was Wollies Animal project. Much love for Wollies with the wife an avid supporter and us having a Wollies adoptees. So explaining purchases to her will be a lot easier
