Howzit. Good genetics is always a good start when you want to grow some dank shit. Problem is it is expensive. What we have done as a group in CT northern Suburbs is to buy as a group and split the seeds between us. Not sure if any one needs help buying what they dream of growing. Post on this topic or start a whatsapp group through the forum. To find like minded folks.7 points

Some extreme LST on the two slow indoor ones. Not complaining cause they are growing nicely Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk5 points

Quick update on the Ethos ladies. I have reached my desired number of mains (a little extra on the one) and will be switching to flower this weekend. Banana Daddy has been a pleasure to mainline. She bounces back from topping and takes LST like a champ. Zour Apple however has been a little more delicate. She does not enjoy being topped and I managed to snap a main during LST (no biggie, just means an extra cola). Also split the main intersection on the Zour Apple. Strange though as the split is 90 degrees to where you normally see it.5 points

Great idea. I can only look at the good genetics and dream. This route makes things a lot easier This has also sprung up a separate board idea now. Seeing as trust plays a large role the board will have to be restricted by a reasonably high post count. Of course the element of risk will still be there but that's up to you guys and where you take the collective buy after the topic has been created A member who wants to look for collective buyers for a specific pack can start a topic of their own and look for other members to join on the collective buy. Let me know if this something that would be worth setting up4 points

I have waited for around a week for seeds to pop. So give them some time. I personally prefer using 20L pots, the extra space is great so they can be used again later on for photoperiods indoors. You can always fill the bag half way with 10L of soil if you really do not want to give your autos more than 10L of soil. When I grew some autos I used 20L and they grew nicely and big. I'll likely use 20L again when I grow the last of the auto seeds I have. Regarding PH up and PH down, different people have different opinions. I personally have used PH up and PH down with soil and would recommend you do so if you want to ensure your PH is on point. I know some people do not bother adjusting PH when growing in soil. I have gone as far as using salt based nutrients and adjusting PH with PH down and even have used fertigation with soil and my plants were very happy, grew lovely and the earthworms in the soil (Organics Matter) seemed happy and survived just fine. As for the microbes, well, I do not know of anyone who has actually done any tests themselves or has equipment to do tests to see how much of a difference it makes to them or how much of a difference they make - especially if you do not plan on reusing the soil. That is the other thing, some people like to reuse their medium (be it coco or soil) and others prefer not to - for various reasons. It can be a mission to use it again as it becomes compact and needs to be fluffed out again and can contain extra nutrients and if there have been any issues - pests, mold etc. it can carry through to your next grow. BioBizz is not bad, it is easy to use as well. GHE tri part is also great and very easy to use. Autos for a beginner, they have their benefits but there are cons as well. The main one being that if you mess up and stunt the plant, your yield can end up being affected in quite a significant way.4 points

I agree. Trust needs to be built up between the guys. We bought a pack of 10. Came with 11 seeds. Gave the extra one to the guy who's seeds did not pop. But that is the luck of the draw.3 points

I agree 100%, makes it much more affordable. As a group you grow out all seeds, find the best pheno and then share it within the group. Gotta have people you trust in the group though and ground rules need to be laid down. EDIT: Best if everyone in the group contributes, nobody likes a leech.2 points

Today the ladies were potted up into some Plant Matter 20L pots, i just love the quality and double stitch on the top hem. I think a waited too long as growth has been slow. Banana Daddy Zour Apple2 points

Dear fellow growers Trust that everone is doing well. I wanted to say hi to all.I am very new to the scene and will be attempting my very first grow. I have managed to get freedom farms soil, (the living soil, the one in the green bag, from @Stinger96, what a brilliant guy, he really done me a solid by transporting the soil to me 70kms away at no extra cost). I also got fabric grow bags from @Stinger96, he has suggested that I use the 30 liter bags, but im still toying around with the idea of 20 liter and maybe even 10 liter bags. So I will be growing 3 different types of plants, please see below for links: https://marijuanasa.co.za/product/girl-scout-cookies-autoflowering/ New Girl Scout Cookies – Indica Dominant: Breeder: MSA Seeds Sex: Feminized Variety: Indica-Dominant Strain Genetics: Durban Poison X OG Kush Flowering Type: Autoflower Flowering Time: 10 Weeks from Sprout Where to Grow: Indoor, Greenhouse, Outdoor Medical Conditions: Depression, Fatigue, Stress Taste / Flavor: Chemical, Diesel, Haze, Lemon Effect: Active, Cerebral, Creative, Energetic, Euphoric Plant Height: 75-160cm CBD Content: <1% Yield: 400-450g/m² https://marijuanasa.co.za/product/super-lemon-haze-auto/ Super Lemon Haze Auto Feml Strain Information: Breeder: CANUK Sex: Feminized Variety: Mostly Sativa Strain Genetics: Super Lemon Haze x Ruderalis Flowering Type: Autoflower Flowering Time: 7-9 Weeks from signs of first pistols Where to Grow: Indoor, Greenhouse, Outdoor Medical Conditions: Anxiety, Pain Taste / Flavor: Citrus, Haze, Lemon Plant Height: 80 – 100cm THC Content: Medium Yield: 70-80gr/plant https://marijuanasa.co.za/product/sour-diesel-auto/ Sour Diesel Auto Fem Strain Information: Breeder: CANUK Sex: Feminized Variety: Mostly Sativa Strain Genetics: Sour Diesel x Haze Auto Flowering Type: Autoflower Flowering Time: 75 Days from signs of first pistols Where to Grow: Indoor, Greenhouse, Outdoor Taste / Flavor: Chemical, Diesel, Haze, Lemon Effect: Active, Cerebral, Creative, Energetic, Euphoric Plant Height: 75-160cm CBD Content: <1% THC Content: Up to 19% Yield: 400-450g/m² As you can see I opted for Autoflowers as a first attempt as I dont have the funds to get a tent, light and other accessories that one needs to do a indoor setup, and I thought this maybe a good thing to do for a first time grower, to perhaps get one grow under the belt and build confidence. I wanted to ask a few questions which may have been asked a million times already, so Im sorry to re ask, and yes the search button on the forum does work, and yes I have used it, lol. Firstly am I right in saying because I will be using a living soil, I should not use a "chemical" ph up and or down as this will or can kill of the microbes in the soil? so if this is correct how am I meant to water my plants? (My ph is around 8.1-8.3, I dont have a ph pen yet, but a buddy of mines has one and he has phed our water out of the tap). Secondly Im not sure on what nutes to use, most people swear by bio bizz, and this could be used with living soil without having to ph your water when feeding. any opinions from people who have used or who do use bio bizz vs any other brand.( I have popped the beans using the paper towel method and some have showed tap roots so intend to plant by friday or saturday, I have read that when using FF soil one does not need to feed for 3 to 4 weeks???) I would like to also ask about grow bag size, Im getting lots of mixed opinions, some people say 10l as your plant wont be growing that long, but then more watering is needed, others say 20l and others have said 30l. (I mean for autos), I forgot to mention that I will be growing on my balcony, I have enough space and there is good sunlight that the balcony receives. Also is there a need to add any worm teas and how does one introduce microbes into the soil? I watched a pretty cool video to making your own microbes, Will link below, any thoughts will be appreciated. My real concern is pests, are ther any preventative methods that one can use? Lastly are there any mentoring programmes that we have locally regarding growing? if not I think some of the more seasoned growers/master growers should actually start a programme, at a cost of course! I would enroll... I would like to say thanks for having me on the forum, and I would like to say thanks to all the experts that give so freely from their own knowledge and experience, you guys are AWESOME!1 point

Hi All. Left with 9 ladies after starting with 18. Had a hole bunch of hermies but these that are left are going strong. 13weeks and 6days old. Started flowering roughly 4weeks back. My question is should I prune them or let them be? If I am to prune what suggestions would you wise people in the forum have for me.1 point

Another update on my grow. She has reached just over 40cm even with trying to supercrop the tallest cola. She is pushing out pistols like crazy! I can't wait for her to start bulking and showing her true colours!1 point

So thought I would start a new grow diary. I have abit of a mixed bag with autos and photos, but the autos will be moved outdoors as time goes (turns out my landlord is cool with me growing). On the left is Mexican Airlines and C4 from Fastbuds. Then on the right is Banana Daddy and Zour Apples. I am growing in the same 30L Organics Matters soil from my last grow as i never had cash for new dirt, i will wait and see if any problems arise. The Ethos ladies will be mainlined to 8 mains each while the Fastbuds girls might see some LST if required but i plan to let them grow free. All of them will be getting Biobizz Fish mix, Bloom, Grow and Topmax. I hacked up my light so I could move it around for better coverage. I really do need to invest in some proper lighting.1 point

Looks good, and following. Keen to see how this grow turns out. I kindly got gifted a White Widow clone, so busy with that in my tent. And then to liven things up, decided to run 2 autos in old soil (but beefed up a bit) outside and see what comes of it. Will also be keeping an eye for deficiencies. Good luck!1 point

looking good man!! bold move on the reusing of your soil! looking to be working out so far! i am a bit nervous that you will develop a magnesium def during flower on this sour Apple. Im all for purple stripes on the stems, but yours are leaning toward the problem purple colour. if i were you i would give them a lekker epsom salt feed, or add little dosses of EP into all your future feeds. 1tsp per 10l should be decent otherwise looking good man!1 point

Welcome Wulf! it looks like you have the basics off to a superb start! starting off on the right foot is the surest way to a glorious harvest!! my 2c would be to remove the humidity dome from your setup as it can create unnecessary problems, the worst being airflow and higher humidity which leads to seeds damping off. if the seed has popped and you can see a tail, i would put them into the soil already and not wait much longer. and then the biggest tip (other than mine) would be to be patient! up until now, if you want weed, you get in your car and buy it... the whole trade could take like 5 min if your dealer is close enough... but now you are going to need a good few months before you even see your weed in smoke form. peace and love and welcomes!1 point

This forum is a great place to find growers who are close to you and to make new friends. For logistics, it makes sense to ensure everyone part of your group is relatively close by. Obviously trust needs to be built. The clubs have the different regions, so perhaps join there and see which other forum members are not that far from you and get in contact. Keep in mind that not every forum member can be trusted unfortunately and this is done so at your own risk.1 point

We have a good relationship between growers. I basically put out a message and the first guys that responded got in on the deal. I baught the seeds and when they paid we split the pack over coffee.1 point

Going direct is most certainly the answer, but trust is a key factor in these sorts of arrangements. I've been burned in various group buys of other species i have been growing from a number of years. @SkunkPharm What route did your collective buying group follow? Did you all get together in person to iron out a path, or was it all online? How did the nity grits of cash collection and ordering happen? delivery/collection?1 point

Hi @Bakstein420 Thanks for the reply and advice, as you can see one of the roots looks good, the other one is still trying to come out of the husk, im thinking of planting the one tomorrow and then leaving the other to get a little bit longer, maybe another day or so. How long does one wait to see if the other seeds will pop?1 point

Hi guys Just a quick update, as I said I put the seeds into water on Saturday 3pm, by Monday, one of the seeds popped, the super lemon haze, pic below, the rest had not yet popped. This evening I decided to give them a quick look, 3 of the 6 had now popped, 2 of the girl scout cookies, (last pics below) and to my surprise the super lemon haze has shed its husked. I totally freaked out and spoke to @Stinger96 who advised to plant it leaving the leaves above the soil which is what I did. Seems like the super lemon haze is in a hurry, lol! Do you guys suggest I plant the ones that have popped and leave the rest in the paper towels until they pop? I used the paper towel method of germinating...soaked seeds for +/- 24 hours, than placed in a wet paper towel, put in a zip lock bag, placed between a towel and put on my dstv box for heat...1 point

First clone run turned out to work quite well with some nice roots showing. Upper cut is a champ with all 3 cuttings already showing extensive root structure. Glookies not far behind. The blessing in disguise is that I have a Wedding Gelato clone that rooted. So even though I lost the mother the lineage survives very lucky indeed. From the fastbuds website: Plant Appearance Some plants can grow as tall as 150cm meaning Original Auto Amnesia Haze is one of the taller autoflowering strains available. She will grow with large spacing between her internodes, and over the flowering period will develop a bushy, yet tall growth structure typical of a sativa dominant strain. The stretch is totally natural bro, don't stress it.1 point
-
Day 39 - Amnesia Haze has stretched uncontrollably. I'm not experienced enough, but I think the Nitrogen content of the formulation I've been applying may have contributed to this. The below pic shows the stretch(far right plant). The nodes are all stretched out as a result, so not expecting much. Day 39 - The LST on StarDawg worked nicely, i am hopeful here, but she isn't in full bloom yet. Canopy.1 point

The pluto cut autoflowers are looking great. I could definately recommend them. My fastbuds grow were kak and I cut them down 4 weeks into flower. I did not take them outside early enough.1 point

HARVEST TIME!!! - 2x large hybrids (Pot a & wheelbarrow) Plant growing in 90lt tub has reached the end of its journey & I've snipped off as much nugs as I dare - now I leave her and hope I didnt molest her too much Didn't think she was gonna yield too much, but there's quite alot of nugs on this lady Top quality for a run of the mill bag seed (check the trichomes) Yield (I'm guessing 250g) My fingers & subsequent hash ball (heavy dank smoke - first time I taste hash with a pineapple/fruity flavour, makes u cough like a bitch) After Molestation The plant in the wheelbarrow also got a partial chop as it was also beginning to reveg - harvested roughly 60% - yield below1 point

What up good people. Small update. Still in week 1. The soil seems abit hot for number 2. Lets see how it goes.1 point

Spotted a seed sticking out a bud on my 90ltr Tub (dad is unimpressed with the 'immaculate conception') seed was still greyish around the edges &brown in centre but no 'tiger stripes' so gonna leave it another week Was wondering since I'm so close to harvest should I still bother with taking her to dark room daily? Im not gonna chop her completely, gonna let it regrow so maybe getting it ready to reveg not a bad idea? I'm not sure - any opinions anyone?1 point

@GGGThanks for the informative info above. Based on the advice given in the thread by other members, I started supplementing with microbes and also dropped my watering PH. I have been using Microlife to adjust my ph as I discovered it's very acidic and a few ml's/l seems to do the trick. After persisting with the microbial consortiums and the lower ph, the plants bounced back and made a full recovery. I have since then starting mixing my own ammended coco using a version of @Totemic recipe that I found on the forum. I noticed that I suffer from COWS(chronic over watering syndrome) and that traditional soils held moisture too long for the manner in which I was fertigating. I don't think I will ever consider procuring store bought soil again, as it has made a tremendous difference for my application. I now run a ph of 6.5-6.8 and I have moved away from using Biobizz for the veg cycle and instead I use a type of compost tea/extraction that I have experimented with and it works great. On the soil front I use the following : The mix is per 15l pot so adjust if necessary for ur applications: 15l 90/10 coco perlite 15 tablespoons medium perlite 8 tablespoons vermiculite 8 tablespoons of worm castings 6 tablespoons of turbo grow rock dust 4 tablespoons of powdered kelp meal 2 tablespoons of kelp flakes 2 tablespoons of bokashi 1 teaspoon of Epsom salts 2 tablespoons of Bio Ocean pelletised fertilizer I do not add any lime or gypsum to buffer the medium, and results have been great so far. For the compost extraction/leachate I use the following : 7l dechlorinated water 2 tablespoons earthworm castings 2 tablespoons bokashi 2 tablespoons Bio Ocean fertilizer 1 tablespoons Gromor Accelerator fertilizer 1 tablespoon blackstrap molasses 10ml EmPro soil microbes After 24hrs I have a good layer of foam on the surface and my ppm is around 1000ppm. Ph comes in a little high at around 7.2. I know some growers don't consider ph crucial when growing organically but I add a little Microlife to bring it down to around 6.7-6.8. Not sure if this helps, but it has been working great for me so far and I thought I would share it for anyone else who wants to give it a shot.1 point

Diluted that tea into 50l of water and watered my garden where it needs help. Refilled the brewer and started the dechlorinating process... I like to make "fucken" sure that the water is devoid of chlorine before I use it. Fresh water in a brew is the killer of teas... Never use fresh!! RO water is fine Dechlorinated water is fine Distilled Mineral water is okay Rain water is great Tap water is fine once it's been standing for a few days or bubbled in a bubbler for atleast 24 hours... Yes peeps say you can get away with a 20 min bubble... I say you can't.1 point

Hi All, First post here and not the best way to start. Took a picture of the awesome symmetry of this outdoor UK cheese. Next day I cam back to this. This is in my back yard, no access for critters other than cats. My dogs have never eaten my plants and have been doing in and out door for years. My animals have had ample opportunity to do something like this if it was them. Have recently moved to Cape Town and am close to the mountain so am wondering if any other critter could have done this. Idea's, guesses? I am worried about my other two outdoor girls.0 points
