You will get conflicting responses on both questions. The thing with an auto is you want to avoid stressing the plant to the point that it needs a recovery period. I grew an auto from GSR, my first ever proper grow in a "spacetote". I transplanted and then LST'd the shit out of that poor plant, resulting plant at harvest. Sadly I lost most of the main colas to bud rot. I am now growing a fastbuds C4 which I started in its final pot and did no training. It might be strain related or could probably even be grower fault, but I rate LST at the very least.3 points

https://fieldsofgreenforall.org.za/schindlers-to-the-rescue-the-haze-club-arrests/ The outcome of this case will set a lot of important precedent with regards to private clubs. Either that or the cops will throw it out, which will then be cause for unlawful arrest and further set a precedent in its own right. The popo really screwed the pooch on this one.3 points

Hi guys I ordered some more seeds from @Biltong and Budz to plant when my current grow finishes next month and was wondering if you had any tips for a first time auto grower? I am loving my photo grow and have some Joker CBD seeds that I was going to do next, but I wanted to do a few autos so that I can experience growing both types of plants. I topped my current grow twice and did lots of LST and defoliation as well as a successful recovery when she started to die off. You can see the grow diary here: But I hear that you shouldn't be giving autos too much stress and that I should only LST. Would love to top them at least once, but I am just worried about them not being able to recover in their short veg time. When I topped my current grow I hardly saw any stress, but I see genetics also play s role in that. Another question I had was about transplanting.. With this grow I went from a cup to a 5l fabric pot to a 10l fabric pot. Should I just start them in the 10l to reduce stress? Any grow suggestions would be really appreciated, willing to try some new things too. Let me know if I should change anything in my set-up: - Freedom Farms Premium Soil - 80cm grow tent - 240W Quantum LED Board - Oscillating fans + extractor fan - I water with 6.2-6.4 ph and a 1/2 dose of BioBloom once a week (during flower)2 points

Also I would be doing you an injustice if I didn't get @Prom involved, he gets some consistently solid yeilds with autos. Although he focuses more on feeding and lighting as apposed to training.2 points

Hi, not super experienced but I have grown a few autos. From my understanding high stress training is definitely not a good idea due to the set lifespan autos have, meaning they won't have enough time to recover. LST is definitely the way to go. I have heard Supercropping is good too, I am actually going to give it a go in combination with LST on the new grow I just started. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk2 points

Best pH pen around. Mine is coming three years old and is still good. Got a spare already of the same brand because pH pens do eventually stop working.2 points

Been sitting here thinking what to say but this is really weird. This has gotta be a personal vendetta. Some old dying turtle from generations past is pushing their dead agenda just one more time before they finally kick the bucket and become irrelevant.2 points

What up dudes and dudettes. Was stoked to come across the forum doing some research into lights and have spent hours pouring through some of the content you fine folk have so kindly created for the less knowledgable among us. Local is Lekker ne! As the name suggests I am from KZN, Durban area more specifically. Moving into a spot with room to grow soon, so am looking to build an indoor setup in the next month or two... Paying through my nose for skyf at the moment so hoping growing will help! I am a little bamboozled by some of the terms and ideas I have come across, so will no doubt have tonnes of questions for the more experienced around that are willing to answer. I will probably attempt 1/2 plants outdoors, and start with something small and hopefully user friendly and simple for my first run under lights. Once again, thanks for what I have read so far, and I look forward to partaking and sharing my progress as I go... Maybe even grow something decent at the end of it all. Shot.1 point

https://www.cannabis-mag.com/police-operation-dinafem-lamota-humbolt 100 million euros worth of cannabis seeds ceased from Dinafem, Mota and Humbolt. Huge knock on what some would consider the most progressive countries. Unbelievable...1 point

Thanks man, let me know how that goes for you. I'd also be keen on combining LST and Supercropping That first pic looks amazing man! Yep definitely going to LST Would love to hear from him, always looking to try/focus on new techniques1 point

@PsyCLown Sure do. Long time, man. Off to Builders this weekend to get chicken mesh it is then. I have put up a Wyze cam to keep an eye on the rest of the girls hoping to crack the mystery of the vandal. If I get a shot of the perpetrator will post it here.1 point

They, and any new customers, don't even know. A slight disservice on THC's part. Maybe they didn't have all their eggs in one basket and it's only one facility that was raided. Who knows, info is scarce.1 point

@Wulf I have the same PH pen and it works well! The cheaper PH pens do not work as well I find, they need to be calibrated very often and lose their accuracy and require calibration again very quickly. I would also suggest you get some PH calibration solution and storage solution at the same time. This combo has everything you need: https://www.futurama.co.za/hm-digital-ph80-meter-solution-combo/ The storage solution will help prolong the life of the probe on the PH pen and the calibration solution will ensure you can calibrate the PH pen.1 point

Looks like a nice pen. I use a cheap bidorbuy ph pen, not the greatest and needs to be calibrated often. You could also use the drops, its cheap but can be abit time consuming.1 point

Based on the above response it seems like I will have to invest into buying a pH pen...futurama has one at around R900 I think. Its a Hm pH pen Link: https://www.futurama.co.za/hm-digital-ph80-ph-meter/ Any thoughts on this pH meter?1 point

Another update on my grow. She has reached just over 40cm even with trying to supercrop the tallest cola. She is pushing out pistols like crazy! I can't wait for her to start bulking and showing her true colours!1 point

@PsyCLown gonna flip this weekend. @CreX yeah I never had much of a choice, bank account was bleek after lock down. Hopefully nothing major goes wrong in flower. I have epsom salts and they are due for a feeding either tomorrow or Saturday, will see how the pots feel.1 point

This forum is a great place to find growers who are close to you and to make new friends. For logistics, it makes sense to ensure everyone part of your group is relatively close by. Obviously trust needs to be built. The clubs have the different regions, so perhaps join there and see which other forum members are not that far from you and get in contact. Keep in mind that not every forum member can be trusted unfortunately and this is done so at your own risk.1 point

Quick update on the Ethos ladies. I have reached my desired number of mains (a little extra on the one) and will be switching to flower this weekend. Banana Daddy has been a pleasure to mainline. She bounces back from topping and takes LST like a champ. Zour Apple however has been a little more delicate. She does not enjoy being topped and I managed to snap a main during LST (no biggie, just means an extra cola). Also split the main intersection on the Zour Apple. Strange though as the split is 90 degrees to where you normally see it.1 point

Since Cannabist went off the reservation, @Sacred Seeds has become my go to. Every order has been delivered in breeders packaging with surplus seeds and paraphernalia (plenty rolling papers, a grinder etc).1 point

Good day fellow cannabis lovers. I have a short story to share on this topic. I have been purchasing seeds for many years now and I have purchased most of my library from places like cannasmiths, BnB's and trophy seeds. I make it a point to try seed banks that I come across and give them a fair go. So some free advertising for these 2 seed banks. Recently I have tried 2 online shops africansmoke and budbuddies. For the africansmoke order I purchased some slurricane seeds from Inhouse genetics so it was a pricey order and the budbuddies order was a small 1 at about 1k with some ripper genetics. African smoke order took 16 hours to arrive at my door from the time of placing the order not the time of payment. Not only was it 16 hours but I received 6 free seeds and half a g of dab. The budbuddies order took a similar time to arrive around 16 to 18 hours and I received 10 free ripper Badazz seeds. So my experience has been more then excellent with these online shops. From someone who has been around the block this was a first. Just my experience. I would say put those bros up on this board!1 point

I would skip soil if you are growing indoor... BOOM I said it..... I love coco If you want the easiest way to grow, get yourself a nice brick of coco, 5kg one should do the trick... Get some salt based nutes, nutriplex or GHE is great, follow the directions on the bottle and it really is that simple. You will need a way to measure pH of your feed and run off... And I think that's it. 250w light... Led? Hps? Coco Bottle salt based nutrients PH pen along with pH down and up ammendments Grow weed lol Ask me to grow outside though... And soil is the way and the light son1 point

At R132/g you may as well buy bed from one of the bigger, more well known groups / people who sell bud. You can get a variety of strains and get to see what it looks like before you buy and you get it now and not in 4 months tiime. That makes more sense to me, more perks I reckon. So he paid R132.00 per a gram and waited 4 months for it. Hope that stuff is top shelf.1 point

Per month China.... It's more expensive than my own grows monthly costs1 point
-
Gee I dont know hey. 40g is little. Fair for a single small plant no trianing... How many months did he wait? How many R1300 payments were made to get that 40g? 4 months worth? If I take those payments as my running costs of my tent, then over a 4 month period, I'm looking at between 400-500g I'm a heavy smoker. I need quality and quantity.1 point

The fact that it's a registered company means squat. It's the same as seeing a saps official and assuming he can't possibly be corrupt because he is a police officer. That being said, for someone who can't grow for themselves this is a good idea in principal. Only time will tell if the idea has longevity. The price isn't too bad considering general input costs into a solid grow. As for legalities of this....would saps see things the same way when they walk into a warehouse full of cannabis? Would they acknowledge that there are other owners of the cannabis, or would they arrest whomever is present and give the media another screwed story about a multi million drug bust?1 point
