  1. @Orcanic Hey bud, I'm just finishing up my 1st auto grow now. My buds came out okay (a mix of LSD, GSC, AK x Crit Mass) though I don't have any final weights yet as they still drying. Some things I found handy along the way: I'd also heard that autos don't respond well to HST but I experimented anyways by topping and FIMming 1 of each just to see how they turned out. They were stunted for sure, and never produced as much as most of the normal ones that were not topped or FIMmed. Well, on those 2 phenos on these strains it wasn't worth it, at least. The topped one looked worse than the FIMmed one. Maybe on other strains it works better, IDK... I did however defoliate the plants a few times throughout the grow to keep the bottom tidy and clear for lower RH and better airflow (and easier watering). Also I removed any leaves that never looked healthy. All in all I'd say I removed the branches up to the 6th or 7th node, but not all at once, maybe 3 or 4 sittings. This is also called lollipopping. Also on training, I gently tucked the fan leaves under the bud sites so that buds are more exposed to the light. It's kind of like training but not quite. My plants responded well to this. If you want the bottom branches to grow taller, don't cut the corresponding fan leaf below it. This helps create an even canopy. All of mine were in 5L fabric pots, never transplanted. Seeds went straight into pots. Despite the small pots the yields per plant seem pretty decent. I must say it's a pleasure to handle them in the smaller pots, makes many things easier At the end I got fungus gnats, as is so common. It was a bummer, but lucky I harvested before they fucked things up. I hear adding cinnamon to your medium in the beginning stops them from ever laying eggs. to begin with. @DamDave says he's had good success with this. I'll be doing this next time Other than that keep your temps and RH on point throughout the various stages. Try not to let them fluctuate if possible. The more stable the better. Never let it get hotter than 26 deg C as it damages terpenes. Try keep it at 20 deg or close during flower and 45% RH if you can. Remember the 48 hrs dark at the end. I'm still learning. Some might disagree with a few of these methods but they seemed to help me. Happy growing man :) Below pics of autos, top 2 bottom: LSD25, GSC, AK x Critical Mass, GSC, AK x Crit Mass

  3. You will get conflicting responses on both questions. The thing with an auto is you want to avoid stressing the plant to the point that it needs a recovery period. I grew an auto from GSR, my first ever proper grow in a "spacetote". I transplanted and then LST'd the shit out of that poor plant, resulting plant at harvest. Sadly I lost most of the main colas to bud rot. I am now growing a fastbuds C4 which I started in its final pot and did no training. It might be strain related or could probably even be grower fault, but I rate LST at the very least.

  5. @Orcanic most autoflowers have a better chance when they start of in the final pot, some theories out there about the taproot, etc. Watering is tricky when starting out in the final container, over watering a auto will also set it back, same as a transplant.

  8. Hi guys, sooo awsome grow it was and learned alot regarding soil and what goes with it. Super happy with the outcome and espesially with the OKC, GSC was second and proud of her also and in 3rd place was the Sapphire OG, I think she was just to low when we flipped to flower, tallest buds did good. And here we go Gram per watt = 1.43 Gram per square/meter = 649 Starting with next grow in the soil soon..........cleaning up time first [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] Sent from my F5321 using Tapatalk

  10. @Teal Smith Those autos look awesome man, thanks for the tips. I will probably LST + Lollipop, and I'll definitely try out that cinnamon trick. I don't think that I'll risk HST for my first auto grow. @Dank Ah okay thanks, will take note to be careful when watering. Just deciding whether I should use my 5l or 10l pots.. leaning toward 10l

  12. Regardless of how progressive any one country is, this issue is global and we currently facing our own version here in South Africa with the issues around our bill - same story happening in Spain the cannabis industry as a whole or in any one place lacks solid legistative & regulatory frameworks Spains Guards Civil went after Dinafem for the same reasons why Ottery cops raided that grow club in CPT - which is operating in a grey zone where ambiguity or a lack of clear & concise definitions in the legislation has caused this illogical witch hunt to play out Cops simply playing by same rules as they are - which is if its not clearly defined doesn't mean we not allowed to do it - so from cops view they weren't prohibited from the performing the raid but I would agree with that article where they say its totally illogical that this actually happened law is meant to protect not persecute

  17. Howzit. Good genetics is always a good start when you want to grow some dank shit. Problem is it is expensive. What we have done as a group in CT northern Suburbs is to buy as a group and split the seeds between us. Not sure if any one needs help buying what they dream of growing. Post on this topic or start a whatsapp group through the forum. To find like minded folks.

  22. Hi guys I ordered some more seeds from @Biltong and Budz to plant when my current grow finishes next month and was wondering if you had any tips for a first time auto grower? I am loving my photo grow and have some Joker CBD seeds that I was going to do next, but I wanted to do a few autos so that I can experience growing both types of plants. I topped my current grow twice and did lots of LST and defoliation as well as a successful recovery when she started to die off. You can see the grow diary here: But I hear that you shouldn't be giving autos too much stress and that I should only LST. Would love to top them at least once, but I am just worried about them not being able to recover in their short veg time. When I topped my current grow I hardly saw any stress, but I see genetics also play s role in that. Another question I had was about transplanting.. With this grow I went from a cup to a 5l fabric pot to a 10l fabric pot. Should I just start them in the 10l to reduce stress? Any grow suggestions would be really appreciated, willing to try some new things too. Let me know if I should change anything in my set-up: - Freedom Farms Premium Soil - 80cm grow tent - 240W Quantum LED Board - Oscillating fans + extractor fan - I water with 6.2-6.4 ph and a 1/2 dose of BioBloom once a week (during flower)

  24. @ORGANinc. Thanks alot man :) Really appreciate that :D The GSC & LSD was around 8.5 weeks. AK closer to 9.5 - 10 weeks, actually I still have 1 or 2 growing that aren't quite ready. But that LSD is the one from FastBuds, a total winner. Will definitely work with this strain again.

  27. Per month Nooit not a fuck, how do you know they haven't just thrown an auto in a 30l pot on the roof and just send you pics of their tent at home. Its a smart concept but trust needs to be solid and any perceptions of being taken for a d@@$ eliminated for it to really take off but nah man R1320pm? They can fuck right off at that price after 4 months Id expect at least half pound/qtr kilo. the first months payment is enough for 1 auto from bulk seed bank + tri pack nutes + a shitty pump & drip feed for 1 plant - just plant the kak in a pot throw it in the yard and forget bout it because at that price there's no point waiting 4 months as opposed to calling your usual link

  28. Hi, not super experienced but I have grown a few autos. From my understanding high stress training is definitely not a good idea due to the set lifespan autos have, meaning they won't have enough time to recover. LST is definitely the way to go. I have heard Supercropping is good too, I am actually going to give it a go in combination with LST on the new grow I just started. Sent from my SM-N950F using Tapatalk

  34. I rate take a couple pics with the flash on and the lights off. That will give you a really good idea of where your trichomes are at. Ideally you want all of the trichomes to be cloudy, no clear trichomes, and a couple amber trichomes here and there. Otherwise I agree, maybe push another week for the buds to get a little more ripe. I'll post our handy little trichome guide here as well just for the info.

  36. Loads of tips from the bois!! My 2c would be... Well quite a few cents actually. 1)light - the light you have is really great for veg and flower, but its value will be in the flowering stage mostly. - I would follow @afternoon blazer advice about the Acdc lights... Really good bang for your buck for veg growth. And then use the 600w HPS for flower only. Recipe for success with lighting. I wouldn't fully convert to LED just yet if you are happy paying the electric bill you get. But it's definitely where the market is moving LED quantam boards and high output diodes. 2)the meduim. Christ it looks scary... The barky bits are no good. I would honestly try cut the plants out of that meduim, even if you damage some of the roots, and put it in the meduim with perlite. I recommend getting yourself some coco and mixing it with the perlite. This is the right meduim for cannabis. Even the soil soils are mixed with a lot of coco to make it a lighter arier meduim. Or get one of the recommended brands and use as is. Telling you... Guaranteed success son. 3)the nutes. Seagrow is a great all round nute source! And is a valuble addition to your toolbelt. There are tons of better nutes available... But this is not the worst you can do either... So all good man. If you can afford other nutes, I will suggest the biobizz range. How are you feeding the plants? This is where I want to highlight the most. Not a single one of your plant pics has a moderately dried out meduim... Every Pic you posted has drenched pots. The amount of water in the pots with the seedling should be fine for like the next 2 weeks without watering. And your bigger ones should be fine for like a week as well. And you should not be using any of the seagrow nutes at all yet... Plants are just too small. It would seem as you have been caught in the new hobby snare... Loving your new passion to death. This is a long game... Zero aspects of growing require constant adjustment. My 4c is you have not been letting your meduim dry out sufficiently. Light is good, nutes are good, airflow is good.... Watering habits are bad... Naughty naughty lol. As you are new, use this tip to help with watering. Actually, here's 2 tips for watering. A) pot weight test. Weigh your meduim before you water it... So you know what a 'light' meduim feels like... And then water, and only water again when the pot is light, or you have weighed it again and it is getting close to the base number. This approach works well with few plants. B) the knuckle test. Get your fingers stuck in there man... I don't water a damn thing until I can feel that the meduim is only alil moist about 2 knuckles down. That's about 5cm...2 whole inches. Then water till you get a bit of runoff, and then you are good again for a while. Cannabis NEEDs to have a wet to dry cycle. Not a wet to moist cycle. Peace and love bud! I know you gonna get this right

  37. Update as we get towards harvest, The Diesoline with the OG Kush pheno has stayed small and delicate with very fine leaves. It took a hammering from the wind, but has pushed out neat little buds that I am looking forward to sampling. I think it may be something special. The best Candy of the bunch has done very well to resist pests and the wind and her buds have come in very nicely. The bonus "Growers Delights" I planted out at friends and family. They are fun, but not really producing well and just goes to show the importance of controlled pollination to keep strong genetics. I will report back on smokability in a few weeks once drying and curing is done!

  38. Things are quite far along now and results are sadly disappointing. I weeded a few males out and a couple went hermy which was fine because I had to many to deal with. One Diesoline stayed potted in my sheltered yard with full sun. Weekly Seagrow and Firejuice for the last month or so. Small buds formed but she seems to be maturing early with brown pistils on the tiny buds: I planted other plants out in my front yard. Also full sun, but blasted by the wind and needed propping up with bamboo - some of which actually snapped due to the intensity of the Cape Doctor. But again tiny buds that are already showing signs of brown pistils. One win is the plant that I gave to my mother-in-law is flourishing in the old age home garden and all the residents are showing a keen interest is how it is developing. At least they are not too worried about the size of the buds.

  45. If you speak to people buying indoor, I feel most would agree that R100/g is not a bad price. I personally know of friends and other people who pay more than R100/g when purchasing their weed and they are very happy to do so, I don't agree with it and have never paid R180/g for indoor. For me it's hard to justify, hence why I am growing. These friends on the other hand are happy to do so, I even know a girl who pays around R250 for "hydro". She only smokes hydro and sativa's. At the same time I know of people who buy cheap weed, like R15/g upto R30/g. It's not the best stuff obviously but it gets them stoned and they're happy as they cannot afford the better stuff. Some of the stuff around the R25 - R30/g has been pretty decent too on occasion. Some people are happy to spend high amounts of money on certain things, which mean something or have high importance to them while others wouldn't. A few good examples are: Computers Cellphones Cars Clothing Common items which are used every day. For some spending under R10k on a laptop / computer is a lot, for others that's considered cheap. For others who are "enthusiasts" or gamers, dropping R40k is easy and you can even spend more. Cellphones, I don't even feel I need to explain here but a new iPhone and the latest Samsung flagship are around the R20k mark I believe, thats a lot of money for a phone. I personally spent waaay less and am perfectly happy with my phone and I know of people who spend even less on their phones. My sister's phone cost jsut over R2k, a tenth of the latest flagship and she's super happy with it and it works great for her and her needs. Cars, they all kinda do the same things and get you places but just look on the roads and you quickly notice the contrast in priceing on cars. The luxury cars are common on the road (Audi, BMW, Merc) and they have an average price of R550k+ and then you look at the more expensive cars such as your Land Rovers, Jaguars, Jeeps, Porches and more expensive luxury cars (S3, RS3, AMG, M3, M4, Evoque) and these are all cars I see on a regular basis. Dare I say at least once a week. At the same time the road is filled with cheaper cars too, like your Kia's and Hyundai's from the low end i10 and Picanto to some of the pricier models. Clothing. You get people spending R500 on a Levi T-shirt, you get people spending R200 on a woolworths T-shrit and people spending R100 or less on a Mr Price / Jet T-shirt. Some people insist on branded clothing while others would rather buy what they like and feel is good quality and some people don't care and just need something so they are not naked in public. We can even bring food into the mix, buying your kellogs cereal vs the cheap Pick n Pay brand. The Checkers branded biscuits vs the bakers biscuits. Heck 1 ply vs 2 ply toilet paper. People consider certain things more important and therefore will rather spend more money on somethings than others. People also earn differently.

  46. So... I kinda see value as this was an idea I played with. It ended up in me setting up someone and I teach him to grow and I take 20% of his harvest. There are many people out there who wants to have the Legal Home grow, but they are too scared, lazy, dumb to do it themselves . (Oh wait too busy making bucks) I know a few people with mega bucks that just want to try and stay on the legal side. Easy sale to them. Hey bro. You need this shit for your medical issue. Growing is legal buying is not. What you say I help you grow at home and then I take 20% of your harvest for the first 12months. My success on this grow of yours depends on how successful I am at teaching you. I can guarantee with proof that I will outgrow your first year's attempt at growing by much more than 20%. So basically I'm giving it to you for free. SHARE THE LOVE (always add that in the end of course otherwise you look like your trying to make a buck out of the person or scamming)
