  3. I always dunk on humidifier/dehumidifiers. The efficiency is jutt, and when it rains your humidity will spike anyways. A better question to ask would be for what reason do you want to lower the RH? Is it because a grow guide sold you some perimeters? Or are you actively battling against the consequences of an unhealthy plant, high humidity and exposure to PM/mold? I've flowered at over 60% with zero issues. In fact, it was one of the best harvests I've had yet.

  5. I have finally cleared the backlog and my veg tent is going to be empty from tomorrow. The slurricane mother has been my favorite plant this year, and keen to see her offspring.

  6. The tent gets the climate from the room.. put the dehumidifier in the room.. not the tent. And cook your climate outside.. you have way more space.. your tent is for growing ^^

  8. You are gonna you need to drop that RH. How badly insulated is that room as it may still be more effective than sitting a dehumidifier in a tent with constant ventilation. If you are gonna sit the DH in your tent you need to cycle the ventilation on and off, like on for 30 mins and then off for 30 mins. Or even every 15 mins. Can be complicated as it's a small space with air that constantly gets exchanged, making it very hard for a DH to be effective. If the air sits relatively still in that outside room then I would still say sit the DH in the room and not the tent. Cycling the extraction fan can work though if you can dial it in right. There's someone selling their used DH here. I'm no expert on dehumidifiers though. I think the strength of the DH will depend on where you ultimately place it and how you dial in your ventilation. Have you maybe considered a portable aircon instead? They're the same price and can do dehumidification. Plus it'll help you out if things get too hot or cold as well. You may also be able to channel the AC's output vent to run into the tent via ducting and use an extraction fan to exhaust the tent. Not sure if the same can be done with a DH

  11. It needs to be dry, but do NOT dry it in the same tent as the mold before you thoroughly clean and sanitize that tent. Get some bleach and wipe it down fully and ensure anything which may have mold spores on it gets cleaned properly too.

  12. I agree with this, especially if one has more than a single tent. However depending on where the tent is, this may not be a suitable solution - such as if its in a large open area. In which case you may need to make a plan to sacrifice space in the tent. With all of that being said, a dehumidifier might be nice but very seldom is it really needed. I'd rather keep my temps lower during flower in summer heatwaves than keep my RH low... if I had to pick.

  15. Day 10. So two seeds of each planted. Only one of each germinated. If you look on the bright side it's a 50% hit rate. Ah well, you win some and you loose some. But in true DAMMIT DAVE style, loose one, plant another two. Indoor grow appearing soon on a small screen in your hand. The x Slurricane is reaching for the skies, almost double the height of the x Ghost Train. Plants have been getting yard time since they broke surface then under light so 24/0. Could it be the light or a stretchy plant. Suppose I'll find out with the indoor run. Hoping to move them to the shade house end of the weekend. 4 x 20l pots take up all my veg area. 19. Thanks for the advice. The room has a cement floor and mental roof(sligh gaps between the roof) , not much air movement in the room so I will try the Dehumidifier in the room as well. I've looked at an portable AC but it chows electricity (probably will be my next step when things are financially better) I have a lot to consider now with all this information. I saw that advertisement but I'm in the Cape so will look for something here thanks.

  20. @DamDave ive had a look at bothbthose suppliers and they have lifyts that look promicing. Tbh and blunt im not technical with lights and there is a lack of really noob info @PsyClown im in no hurry i had a long look on amazon today and i must say the quantum boards had me interested really quick. My test bench babies are still small but ill get the light if the right deal pops up. After that i just need a decent ph amd thc pen. I think then im set to get premium seeds. Then need to get biobizz too.. i currently have seagrow as my first test fertilizer.

  21. Thanks for the tips guys. My tent is in an outside room that doesn't have proper insolation so putting it in the room will make it work harder I think. I'm willing to sacrifice some space in the tent. I've been having some PM issues and got it abit in control. My humidity during flower is hitting 60% - 70% and when my lights go off it goes up till 80% in the morning so looking to bring it down abit.

  23. @PsyCLown Yes absolutely, I've been using H202 to sanitize the tent and stuff inside. I'd imagine there are spores everywhere, but with a bit of luck the mold was caught early enough in it's life cycle for it not to sporulate just yet.... Hope so, but no harm in taking all the measures. I cut off all stems at the base too, and wiped down with copper soap solution (grateful it's going for the stems at the base and not higher up towards the buds, or the buds themselves). I also dropped the RH to 48/49% for just over 30 hours now, and I don't see any more mold colonizing. It's back up to 51/52% now. On the lower end of the sweet spot. So far so good, knock on wood, things seem to be under control.

  25. sjoe... tough one man... a 1.2x1.2 tent isnt exactly large large, and you would be sacrificing a large amount of space to accommodate the dehumidifier. why not beef up your extraction and intake? what is your Rh outside the tent? If it is higher than you want it to be, and you are bringing new air into the tent constantly... you will battle to lower the RH even with a dehumidifier.

  30. So both of these @1000Hills Nursery wedding cake x Smeeting are in flower now, confirmed this morning for sure that they are both female, super lucky!!! The plant behind this other WCxSM Same pot/soil amended... One layered and the other diluted with no training, I would have diluted both if I knew what I knew now about layering soil. (IT DOES NOT WORK!) Upwards and onwards, the first girl underwent some decent transplant stress but now she is doing well at least. The growth of this plant is quite substantial, if I did not mess around in the beginning, I'm sure I would have been this far in half the time, however happy to be here, I'm told this strain will put out some deep exotic colours. Roughly week 3 flower.

  31. Two weeks since they sprouted today. Will feed the same regimen tonight but I’m bumping the Kelpak to 2ml/liter. Will only add fish mix week three. Also sprayed Pyrol on the tomatoes and then lightly on the plants last night. Feedback please? The Sativa sisters And the Blueberries. Blueberry #2 is slightly behind. My tomatoes, the OG testing plant. Thanks for reading. Jah bless!
