Further development! Took some general pics and some bud shots of some notable looking delights. I want to write more but I've really not been doing much special right now. Since cleaning up the lower canopy, work on the grow has been pretty min apart from watering every few days. I decided to do less trimming in general and keep more larger fan leaves (within reason) on the top half of the canopy as I have usually in the past been quite aggressive with it. I do feel shorter strains can benefit from more trimming during the grow, especially ones with very short internodal spacing. It worked out really well for me in the past especially when doing topping and mainlining. Although since trying the al natural 'no hard training' (minus the one supercrop of course) method and keeping the bottom half canopy clean I haven't felt I've needed to trim as much leaves as before. i took the pineapple express down in 2 batches. Early week 11 4 early plants and other 8 end week 11. Pretty much to my liking in amber. As much as i enjoy the bubblelicious, speed wise, the Gelato is hard to beat, the Pini isnt slow either. Lets see how the backup batch does. Is week 6 now and went into the 1.2x1.2. I have started my pheno hunt surprise, i am doing Photos 2 reasons i do that. First, check for different tastes... and i want to see the difference in potency. Same genetics from the same breeder. I skip the pic... a few more as 8 plants. selecting genetics from 8 plants only, is a bit of a endless game otherwise3 points

GLO has been missing from the forum a year or 2 now. He might have retired from this platform. 24 hours is good to let water stand. Chlorine is a pretty unstable molecule in the sun. Super soil gets better the longer it stands. Depending on where you are keeping your soil, you shouldn't have to keep feeding and turning the soil weekly after the initial preparation period. I've let soil just sit there for months and it was just fine.3 points

Pic #1 the Ghost Train Haze cross. Pic #2 the Slurricane cross. Both plants loving the shade house and as with the other plants these will not be moved again. The roots will be punching their way through the bottom of the pot into the earth soon. Standing about a meter tall at approximately 6 weeks with only sunshine and water. Got some more germinated for the indoor grow but those have found themselves in the queue for a combined grow so there may be a duplicate diary now and again. Been a bit of a slow springtime here, loads of overcast and rainy days made for a difficult reveg period. Bug pressure is next level at the moment and a big majory of em prefer to hit the Sherb cut. Had some serious Mg deficiency early on, been supplementing with Mg Sulphate / Epsom salts. These pictures were taken last week. Update It’s been about a month since the last update and lots has happened , i went on holiday for 2 weeks so I built a simple drip feed system and had someone refill the reservoir every couple of days ,but as I was meant to fly back home I caught covid [emoji23], so definitely not the best of times not being able to tend to the plants during late flower but here are some of the pics of how the girls are doing Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

So I forgot to take a last pic before harvesting after nine weeks flowering. 70g after a wet trim and using the brown paper bag drying method. Down to 45g after two days of drying. Some nice fruity aromas coming out of the bag. Pic #2 is of the shade house baby standing at 1300mm including pot. Looks like she's getting ready to go into pre flower. This one will not be moved for photo shoots anymore as the roots are punching their way through the bottom of the pot into the earth below. Pic #3 is of the one that started flowering outdoors standing at 1400mm including pot and now gets moved into it's darkroom, out at 6am and back at 6pm. Gonna have to make a higher flowering area maybe, wife's gonna love that. I'm expecting a decent little yield from these two. The Glamberry x Lemon Jedi OG seems to be heading towards a hassle free grow as well @Bay Seeds but that's another diary appearing soon. Keen to see what's up your sleeve next @Bay Seeds. Store credit for beans that don't pop is great, except for the retailer that has to cater to all levels of growers. I know alot of seed banks started that way but i imagine it got way out of hand. Personally I was reimbursed by GSR for 2 seeds on my first grow that never germinated. Honestly, it was probably more my own fault than faulty beans. Regardless they kept me happy and I have been a returning customer since.2 points

@Prom Incredible how fastbuds made sure you were a happy customer, amazing service even taking the knock on such a big order. On a side note, i would want to find the dude from customs that took my shit. I can handle losing a few seeds, but a $600.00 order... shit just got personal. Nine and a half weeks of flowering and I decided to do the deed. I don't have the means to check when the optimal time for harvest is so I went with average flower time and then added some. Bud development seemed to have come to a standstill as well. Small, sticky and super smelly is what she is.[emoji109] Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

Sorry guys. This diary is been moved to a combined grow diary. Keep the eyes peeled and catch you on the flip side. Plants looking good though.[emoji1690] Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

You are using the wrong nutes for your medium...or you need to add something like explogrow to your feeds to introduce a micro biome. With the current nutes you are using, you should only.be using the fish mix or grow(I prefer grow). Start adding bloom only from the 3rd week of flowering. It does look like you have a potassium deficiency, but it's more than likely due to major pH issues causing a lockout than a lack of potassium imo.1 point

Hi Everyone, im Stefan whose a organic grower enthusiast. I started my first grow in Aug with 3 OG Kush from Dynafem and one high CBD strain (both autos) and went reasonably okay, could have done a bit better to get more dense buds but first times are there for learning. One thing ive noticed is that there are so many seed banks in SA but can hardly find reviews regarding quality of seeds and products and hoping a community such as this can assist me with future purchases. Has anyone tried seeds from CBSeeds , they seem to have nice strains for a very competitive price (R70 per seed), where as most banks are roughly R150 + per seed. I'm interested in getting seeds from them and just wanted to know whether anyone has tried them or have heard about them and whether they would be recommended. ive recorded my first grow and as well as my current and should people wish to see/compare/evaluate my methods im happy to share. Thanks1 point

Aweh, It does look like something is not right there. Many deficiencies etc are allready 7-14days in the making before you, the grower physically see them. You'll have to give more info, like what grow medium you using, what nutes you feeding and how much. Tip burn is usually an indication of too much feeding, the shiny sheen on the leaves alao doesnt look right. Possibly a lockout.1 point

Quick smoke report. She was harvested a bit early and not properly cured, so the taste isn’t too flavorful from the forst batch. But an easy smoke and a nice energetic high. Wife’s been loving it as I’ve been up for foot massages after every joint [emoji12] Also been sleeping like a rock every night after a time so really loving the effect. Can’t wait to finish the indoor ones properly and cure in the new year. Well done so far [mention]Bay Seeds [/mention] and thanks for the opportunity Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

@Green Leaf Organics Thank you so much for sharing this. This is so well written and constructed and great to give an enthusiast like myself a basic understanding of organic living soil. Is 3 hours sufficient time for tap water to dechlorinate? In your article you refer to a ‘few hours’, can it be as little as 3. I’ve aimed for 24 hours but it’s has been loosely applied and wanted to know what’s your minimum recommendation. Also to make the super soil mix (250l) can this be stored for 6 months or so? As long as I continuously look after it by mixing it around every week or so and a water with AACT and molasses? I Really found this piece of great help. Would love to learn more as soon as I start understanding more.1 point

Weekly update. The plants are flourishing at different stages of growth and training. I have run out of Seagrow and must replace, otherwise I am still giving the plants SST in their water daily and feeding Epic 5:2 once a week, with foliar spray of Epic 5:2 every 2nd day with my pest control (BB/BT/Neem). Two Double Wild Durban clones have rooted. From the top are: Molly (Transkei origin in my soil mix) Purple Haze (Mystery purple thought to be haze in my soil mix) Inzane ITM (clone in Orgasoilux) Double Wild Durban 1 (in my soil mix) LC-18 x Transkei (in my soil mix) Holly (Transkei origin in my soil mix) Wedding Cake (clone in Orgasoilux)1 point

Firstly thank you for the giveaway, my sisters pug recently started having epileptic fits. He has been to the vet a done a brain scan also checked his liver and so on. I know this strain was produced to help a young girl with fits so I'm keen to grow it for Marmite and infuse it with some coconut oil to mix with his food. He is on tablets but they will deteriorate his liver and put pressure on his kidneys.1 point

They show real vigour.. Short internodal spacing and they love the sun.. Was a real scorcher today..1 point

It does look really good, however I cannot take credit for that. Not my plant, not my grown... Give me a few weeks and I should be producing similar plants though1 point

I went through every mental exercise on how I may strictly fall within the law with my cannabis hobby and quite frankly the laws (which btw are not "laws" yet) are not well defined or even considerate to the culture of cannabis which has been around for centuries. So, with all due respect, if these laws are enacted as they stand, I will break them1 point

all thats left to do is maybe turn the bulk into concentrates...or up your smoke game and smoke more hahaha1 point

Genetics is probably the most important factor to consider when it comes to growing. Dutch genetics use to be the go to genetics back in the day. But with the relaxation of laws in the they have over taken the europeans in that respect. SA is over run by white lable ducth/Spanish seeds which is normally cheap. If you are looking for something special you have to pay for genetics and do pheno hunts. If you are just looking to grow buy clones. These guys have already identified the best pheno types and you are guaranteed to grow some dank. @Totemic is going to launch his new fem seeds in January and I'm sure he will be looking for testers to do diaries on here. There will be some nice crosses.1 point

The burned Gelato is already down.. wasn't much they really showed me the finger. Were 12 plants and they gave me around 100g.. was Gelato, my only excuse for the wasting of time ^^ but the 9 I put as replacement for the burned batch are coming on great. week5 now and in 4 weeks they are done.. I even take a bet on it ^^ love FastBuds. The Pineapple Express were set with 10 weeks. I took the first down today very much to my amber liking and week 10 day 3. Not sure how they do it As said, easy on nutes with that strain...1 point
-
Pictures ^^ just made a few.. so lets show some fuck ups ^^ The Pineapple took the burn with quite some dignity I take those down in 3 days I didn't defoil anything.. after the burn, was a none effort grow.. I just gave them pure water till finish.. with a bit of Top Max to make em use the resources faster, had enough in that soil hehehe Ruderalis, tent was dark, so I only took a "future" male out.. by the growing structure, I would say is a male. Took 30 seconds to make the picture and the sun was early morning, no risk to stress them, but I prefer not to disturb their dark phase. And the Charlotte's Webs Regulars, male and a female..1 point

Wooohoooo!!! I don't know what to say guys ....this is making my Christmas! It wasn't a great year so far, but this is just awesome. I never won anything in my life. Let's grow some fire! Congratulations to the others too!1 point

All a bit bigger now ^^ .. quite bigger actually. Very much time for a update. I hand in some pictures as soon as I get the time. Ruderalis growing nice and as slow as expected but plant structure looks good. (used fresh soil, lucky me) The soil I cooked was waaaaaaaaaay to hot old man screwed up some of his head calculations by the factor 10.. rounded wrong. Teaches you.. use a freakin calculator. So everything is on flush for 4 weeks now and came back rather sexy. I never ever in my growing life burned plants as bad. Wasn't the nicest picture and I got questioned even more, because I didn't ripped all out and started fresh. (I hate ripping out plants hehehe I always have a little mutant growing somewhere) Now I had a mutant farm but... they still formed buds all starting to hang a bit side ways. The Gelato got hit the worst.. they do not like over fertilizing at all. The Pineapple Express took it rather well. They can realllllly take some The Gelato did his time frame, even it got really pissed off by me. I was a bit busy with other stuff and forgot a bit about the time frame.. was on flush anyhow hehehe no nuts for 4 weeks. Gave a bit TopMax. It was a bit of a face palm moment, when I realized, I haven't checked the Gelato once with some magnifiers. My work sheet said, end week 9 is hit 6th December, and we had the 7th. First plant I checked smiled at me with 100% amber sugar leaves. Rest was also to my liking.. snip snip. Hanging to try for day 4 now. Fastbuds say is 9 weeks.. ^^ I would say 10% was week 8 day 1. Like the last Gelato I harvested after 8 weeks and 4 days. Very much on time. The Pineapple is set with 10 weeks... not sure it will make it to 50% in that time, but have 3 plants just oozing with Pineapple smell.. hope they taste like they smell The Charlotte's Web are also back to happiness and they swing some Indica genes ^^ those leaves don't lie. The Gelato Photos went into a growing competition and left the CW's faaaaaaar behind. Thank god for my light setup, difference in canape is nasty. Also repotted the CW's and Gelato's in 22 liter fabric pots. I get 16 of those easy in a 1.2x1.2 might try a run with those and see how much yield per sqm I get. The smell of the Gelato hanging.. this heavy sweetish chemical smell. Smells exactly like the batch I had before. Can't wait As the seeds are from the same batch.. Auto and Photo plants, I want to actually check potency of both once done. I still think you get more potency into a auto, due to more light you can pump in. But wishful thinking and reality usually wear two pair of different socks The lab will settle this dispute and as the photos came from the batch of autos.. this is a fair compare in my books. Lets see.. my Bubblelicious were flowering for 10 weeks.. on 20/4.. that is like nearly 17 weeks to flower for a photo to get the same energy input. The Gelato with 8 weeks is a fast one.. very curious. I give a little disadvantage to the auto even, by using a very fast one. Sooooo, very curious if the potency of the photo will match the auto. I know the Bubblelicious and mixing it with alcohol is a very bad idea, if you are not used to smoking. Hehehe had some complains about the strength Will visit the Futurama store on the 16th and get my batches tested.. curious what they will tell. The Photo Gelato will take a bit longer.. as I have 4 plants, I want to quickly clone a batch and see if I get taste difference. If I get a nice one, I will throw a batch of free clones to some Capetonians interested. Sharing is caring Short ADDON.. I look for a G28 / Jet Fuel photo ... somebody has and willed to see what we swap?1 point
