This year....besides the total abortion it has been, it has also been a busy year for the cannabis industry. Lockdown was the final push for many, and it's great to see the industry growth expanding beyond government control. 2021 might just be our year. My year is kicking off with a co-lab on a unknown plant that came up in autumn in the corner of the farm where a bubba kush grew. The plant grew through winter and she managed to reveg, and I've taken a few clones. She absolutely reeks of intense grape bubblegum. So I'll be putting these cuts to the test in a few grow environments, and will be doing a dedicated feminized seed run. After getting a lot of positive feedback on my Bubbleberry Glue, I'll be re-running them for selection and hope to have seeds available in Q2. I'm also going to be pheno hunting Original Afghani #1, THC Bomb (Bomb Seeds), Double Lemon Pie(Dark Horse) Then I'll be doing a lot of testing on this years crosses... So plenty planned, plenty happening already. Watch this space. Have a very merry festive season. May 2021 treat us all well.4 points

Hey guys. Registered a few weeks ago on the forum, just been finding my feet. Going to be growing my own strains from Jan, having learnt a thing or two from various grow ups in KZN and the Transkei. Looking forward to keeping you posted3 points

I'm pretty sure it'll still be fine. It seems quite stable and nothing has precipitated out of the solution from what I can see and my solution is quite strong compared to what hortimix recommend. The powder should keep for years. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk3 points

Hey all, Not really a competition, but I have some Hortimix nutes which I am no longer using and happy to give them away to anyone in need of some nutes. From what I recall I made the mixture stronger (more than 1 packet of nutes into 5L). I am in the JHB area, so if you are interested in the nute drop me a PM and you are welcome to come and collect them. Around half of the 5L nutes left. I did state how many grams of the powder nutes I added to the 5L, but would be best to do your ratios based on the EC of the solution.2 points

Hi everyone! I'm a first time grower and just wanted to reach out to the forum to say thank you for all the knowledge that has been shared and get some guidance. Now that I'm up and running I'm really struggling to keep my ladies cool and at the right humidity levels. I'm based in Joburg and growing in my apartment so it can get really hot (especially when my lights are running) and really dry. Considering how much time and effort goes into a growing a good crop I really want to make sure I'm growing in the most ideal environment as possible and affordable. The troops sprouted from the soil about 10 days ago and the temps in my tent can easily reach 32 degrees with humidity sitting in the high 40's to low 50s. I run my lights at night to try keep it as cool as possible in there but I know something's going to have to be done to decrease the heat asap before they get bigger. Any advice on nutes would be great, I'm growing in FF Premium Classic (green bag), since it's my first grow I'm not really too bothered on synthetic vs organic nutrients I've included a basic outline of my set up below and some pictures, any advice would really appreciated! Thanks again guys! Happy growing IMG_3701.JPEG IMG_3702.JPEG IMG_3721.JPEG IMG_3723.JPEG IMG_3724.JPEG IMG_3725.JPEG2 points

So this isn't the exact same strain as what you are thinking about.. I think you are thinking of Charlottes Web, this is Charlottes Angel. However I suspect they are quite similar and both very high in CBD. If I am not mistaken, @Prom managed to get some Charlottes Angel seeds. Not sure if he has grown them out yet and is able to give feedback on whether Charlottes Angel is any different to other high CBD strains? Although it is likely still worth a try and could possibly assist. PM's have been sent to everyone, please respond and then I will have everything shipped out together.2 points

Welcome! It is getting pretty hot and the heat is likely going to remains for a few more months. Only way to really cool things down and keep them cool is with an aircon. I was hoping to get away with out one myself, however the room I have my tents in just retains heat like crazy and this is without the heatwaves. So I will be running an AC for my grow. How big is your tent and how big is the room you're growing in? As for humidity, between 40 and 50 RH is really not that bad. With all the rain my humidity has been just under the 70% mark which is quite high but I seldom struggle with RH being too low - the AC may change that though. Plants should naturally increase the RH as they transpire, you could set your extraction fan to be on a timer (turn on for say 5 minutes every 45 minutes as an example) and not extracting all the time - that will help get the RH to spike a little and not just push all the humidity out the tent, may not make a big difference though.2 points

You are using the wrong nutes for your medium...or you need to add something like explogrow to your feeds to introduce a micro biome. With the current nutes you are using, you should only.be using the fish mix or grow(I prefer grow). Start adding bloom only from the 3rd week of flowering. It does look like you have a potassium deficiency, but it's more than likely due to major pH issues causing a lockout than a lack of potassium imo.2 points

Aweh. That is a funky fruity selection you got going there. Sounds very lekker. Mother nature is making life hard up here. We had blistering days 35-39deg and 95% RH, our ac pulls 50lt of water per night. Got a Purple Pineapple express being harvested, luckily only lost 2 small buds to rot.2 points

Been a bit of a slow springtime here, loads of overcast and rainy days made for a difficult reveg period. Bug pressure is next level at the moment and a big majory of em prefer to hit the Sherb cut. Had some serious Mg deficiency early on, been supplementing with Mg Sulphate / Epsom salts. These pictures were taken last week. Further development! Took some general pics and some bud shots of some notable looking delights. I want to write more but I've really not been doing much special right now. Since cleaning up the lower canopy, work on the grow has been pretty min apart from watering every few days. I decided to do less trimming in general and keep more larger fan leaves (within reason) on the top half of the canopy as I have usually in the past been quite aggressive with it. I do feel shorter strains can benefit from more trimming during the grow, especially ones with very short internodal spacing. It worked out really well for me in the past especially when doing topping and mainlining. Although since trying the al natural 'no hard training' (minus the one supercrop of course) method and keeping the bottom half canopy clean I haven't felt I've needed to trim as much leaves as before. Yup, the Angels didn't became tall but packed some buds Breeder: Dutch Passion I forgot to take a sample to testing. They smelled DELICIOUS ^^ very very lemony and fruity smell. Friend would have loved to smoke em.. if they would have made him goofed "his words". I had em to wash.. and then the Tabaco shops closed ^^ they are still packed, so thanks for reminding i forgot about those1 point

Well versed in the those parts of the law and all the bulldust Mr Cele tries to spread. Have legally owned and used fire arms for almost 20years. Rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Try to be prepared as much as possible.1 point

Move to coco and such issues disappear! You're in complete control over the nutes going into your medium for your plants1 point

@PsyCLown how long would you say the shelf life of the Hortimix? I have some pre mixed as well that's been standing for more than a year and a packet of each left. I would like to give it to a friend but not sure if it's still good.1 point

Thanks @Bos , i hope to get em healthy enough to withstand these bugs, but the beetles that come out at night are ravenous little okies. Going to experiment with wildeals tea (just boiled and cooled down) as a spray to make the herb taste bad to the bugs, no idea if it will work, but i realised no bug touches the wildeals. Good luck with the season up there, im sure the gals will get stonger and stronger as summer gets gooing. BTW man I still owe you some beans, gimme a shout if/when ever u need something new to pop1 point

No need for bloom till end January for photos outdoors. The difference between Grow and Fix-Mix is that Grow is 75% Fish-Mix and 25% Molasses. The sugar isn't needed by the plant till flower.. but can help your micro organisms in your grow medium, I prefer to go Fish-Mix for veg phase and swap between Fish and Grow once they reach pre. Give the plant with the brown tips a flush with 30 liter water. Then let it dry up and go back to add 2ml Fish-Mix per liter you apply. When your plants go pre, is the first time you can add bloom, not before.1 point

I grow organic in my own soil, have used coco for cuttings but not for full on growing. Coco should be buffered with calmag to avoid issues later on. Pretty sure one of the more experienced coco growers may shed some more light on the issue.1 point

Hey guys So I just wanted to write a short post on how my last week was living in sunny South Africa We had 3 break in's in 4 days, 1st one was 2 weeks ago on a Thursday at 3 to 4 am, guys broke a window so this woke us all up, so they fled. Police called, guys came out, done finger prints etc. And reported to us that there were many break in's the same night. Landlady called, she recokns she is not doing anything about the broken window, neither is she installing an alarm system and she ain't putting up any fence or wall around her house..yikes!!! Like really??? (Yip no fence around this house) Ok so the same Saturday morning these guys decided to come back, this time we don't hear anything and they managed to get away with some camping gear but it seems like they also scouted out the whole layout. Problem is we only realised this by Sunday night. (Items that did get stolen were still there on Friday). Monday morning at 4am we were woken up to lots of voices downstairs, we made our way down and lots of feet went running, got away with about 5k worth of meat and fish.(we had family coming over so we decided to stock up) The reason for writing this post is just to make people more aware, people have to be more vigilant at this time of the year. Don't take your security for granted, if you can't feel safe in your own home where can you feel safe??? Reinstate the death penalty??? What about human rights, ok so wheres my human rights when you rape my wife in front of me, then kill me? And all the while my family continues to pay tax which government uses to feed you while you in prison, they clothe you, you can even get a good education while in prison, and in fact you even have rights, if you a vegetarian the state must provide those meals for you, and don't call me a prisoner, that's a derogatory term, Im called a client of the state, what a joke!0 points

I feel your pain bruh. We got same stories on the north coast. SAP dont do their job, there is no visible policing at all. Most of the cops are taking protection money from the Nigerian wonga dealers and thus dont get touched. We have drug(most hardcore stuff except cannabis ) and whore houses in most neighbourhoods. Now that the cops are watching the beaches the criminals are having a field day. Brazenly robbing houses in broad daylight, last week they robbed a jewellery chain store in the mall in the middle of the day. My vehicles have been broken into 3 times this year as I was forced to park outside the garage. But no entry into the house-If they can get past the pitbulls (which sleep inside) there is some 9mm tablets ready. We all have to get serious about personal security, as I doubt the state of chaos will improve any time soon.0 points
