@Prom hi bud. Sure there are legal ways to carry a sidearm in South Africa. You can have a look at a Section 13 licence which is for self defence and valid for 5 years. (Only shotgun and handgun allowed under Sec 13) Otherwise you can get a sec 15 which is an occasional sport shooting/hunting licence or a sec 16 which is a dedicated sport shooting/hunting licence. These licences are valid for 10 years and also includes semi automatic rifles over and above handguns and shotguns. In order to obtain any of these licences you first have to complete a competency process and examination in order to obtain a competency certification. After you receice this certificatiom from an accredited institution you still have to apply for a SAPS competency card. This will allow you to apply for the actual licence to possess a firearm. You will also need to first purchase the firearm before being able to process a firearm licence as the serial number and description of the weapon is needed to finalise the licence application. There are lots of people out there that will be able to assist with such a process. Institutions like GOSA and PHASA. I have to advise that the process is quite cumbersome and for a competency and firearm licence from SAPS can take up to a year.. I hope the information helps. This year....besides the total abortion it has been, it has also been a busy year for the cannabis industry. Lockdown was the final push for many, and it's great to see the industry growth expanding beyond government control. 2021 might just be our year. My year is kicking off with a co-lab on a unknown plant that came up in autumn in the corner of the farm where a bubba kush grew. The plant grew through winter and she managed to reveg, and I've taken a few clones. She absolutely reeks of intense grape bubblegum. So I'll be putting these cuts to the test in a few grow environments, and will be doing a dedicated feminized seed run. After getting a lot of positive feedback on my Bubbleberry Glue, I'll be re-running them for selection and hope to have seeds available in Q2. I'm also going to be pheno hunting Original Afghani #1, THC Bomb (Bomb Seeds), Double Lemon Pie(Dark Horse) Then I'll be doing a lot of testing on this years crosses... So plenty planned, plenty happening already. Watch this space. Have a very merry festive season. May 2021 treat us all well.3 points

Temperatures over 30 degree will ruin your taste. I would even go that far, everything over 26 makes your terpenes suffer. You have 2 very clear factors to keep in range. Temperature and Humidity. Both need to fit as good as possible (upper and lower limits).. the result is good weed I like your list.. you put some thought into all.. but.. as @PsyCLown said, there is to hot and to hot is not good for your plants, to much or to little moisture will hurt them too. The water vaporizer cooler will increase the room humidity level, a AC will reduce it. Depending what climate you have at your spot.. buy the right tool, not just what fits the wallet. Might make your life worse. If you run into 70ties in room humidity, you can expect to run into a mold issue. I use 440 watt on a 1.2x1.2 area, so you have enough light for sure keep that tent ventilated Have fun.. run a grow diary3 points

Those coolers are a waste, its just a fan which will also increase humidity. It won't lower the temps. If your plants are small, once they're bigger your rh will increase and then thr air cooler will be pointless as it won't cool and your rh likely won't be an issue or it'll be too high. I personally wouldn't spend the money on that air cooler, I bought one years ago and regretted it and eventually replaced it with a cheapy pedestal fan which actually moved a decent amount of air. In a 1 x 1 tent, you don't really want the AC inside as it will take up a large portion of the tent and it complicates the extraction aspect of the tent. Cooling the room will be simpler, however may be hard to justify with such a small tent inside but without am AC you're unlikely to make much, if any, difference to the high temps. As Prom said, temps above 30 degrade your terpenes and this will lead to weed which smells and tastes like nothing. High temps during flower are really not ideal. The only other alternative is to time your grows so that you flower when it's cooler and not in the middle of summer. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk2 points

Well versed in the those parts of the law and all the bulldust Mr Cele tries to spread. Have legally owned and used fire arms for almost 20years. Rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. Try to be prepared as much as possible.2 points

The baby Swazi and Purple Pineapple f1 lady got the chop. Spaced over 2 days as she was a big girl. Her sativa genes showing in the cola structure. Sweet fruity scents and very sticky, probably got more than a gram of scissor hash haha.... hoping to get close to 200gr dry. Lost 2 lower popcorn buds to rot, but we can live with that. The oscillating fan is doing its job. Shifting focus to the rest Bubblegum and Fruitpunch f4's which are vegging nicely after transplant to 75lt tubs. Germed WWxCheese, Pineapple Express and DBN Poison. Finished the first 1m3 of my amended soil and the 2nd batch is cooking. But we need a lot of it. Its used for everything we plant in various strenghts. From the Spinach, Lettuce, Aloe Vera, Sweet Potatoes, Gooseberries, Habanero's, Passionfruit, Guavadilla, various herbs and 5 varieties of Tomatoes. Busy times ahead.2 points

I feel your pain bruh. We got same stories on the north coast. SAP dont do their job, there is no visible policing at all. Most of the cops are taking protection money from the Nigerian wonga dealers and thus dont get touched. We have drug(most hardcore stuff except cannabis ) and whore houses in most neighbourhoods. Now that the cops are watching the beaches the criminals are having a field day. Brazenly robbing houses in broad daylight, last week they robbed a jewellery chain store in the mall in the middle of the day. My vehicles have been broken into 3 times this year as I was forced to park outside the garage. But no entry into the house-If they can get past the pitbulls (which sleep inside) there is some 9mm tablets ready. We all have to get serious about personal security, as I doubt the state of chaos will improve any time soon.2 points

@Wulf that's a good question man. I had a chat about it with a friend just a couple of days ago on the range. Firstly I am not legally qualified to give advice but our take on it was that if you were to use a sec 15 or 16 licenced weapon to defend yourself and the actual action of using the firearm falls within the ambit of the law. I.e all the legal requirements for self defence. One can argue that the action was warranted irrespective of the licencing status of the weapon used to protect yourself. So your competency status to use that weapon within the confines of common law and the firearms control act should be able to provide legal basis for the use of that weapon to protect yourself. Again this was just our opinion. Cheers1 point

how much % you reach in that oil. I never used coco oil, so bit curious. or better, how much oil on how much bud? Isnt the world in gear to do gas extraction.... cheapest set of gear i know... even a sif to hash costs more... one! All you need...1 point

Just out of curiosity why in the oven for 40 mins, when the weed is already cured? Do the extract with butane gas and mix after with the amount of oil. Will desolve very easy and you dont remove unwanted substances with the oil from your herb... also way easier to mix a dosage you want. Test the honeybee you got at a lab, then you can easy do your desired concentration to consume, oil or alcohole, easy to desolve. Read some reports how CBD values get put way to high on products sold. Nobody could easy test, that changes now... and fraud gets pointed out. If you mix yourself, you know you get the % you aim for.1 point

Guns... they are not always the solution. If you show your weapon, you will escalate the situation. If you want and have to use it.. do it, otherwise, think twice to show a gun. Just buying one, doesn't make you hit and hitting you want with every shot on low distance. Getting a side arm demands that you educate yourself and train with it.. or you just escalate the situation to your worse. I am thinking into getting a side arm at the moment.. had a youngster trying to highjack my car. The size blade he pulled out, would have easy gone through my chest and into the seat was pure luck i had my driver window going up as i felt uncomfortable suddenly. I avoid any road passing a township now and close windows on robots. I think into getting a HK VP9, had a Desert Eagle 44 when living in Switzerland, sexy but to big. Not that you really need one there hehehe but a youngster and guns. When I got my first pay check from my first fix job, I walked with my credit card into a gun shop in Bern and came out with a Mossberg Pump Action 10 mins later. Stopped on the way home on the highway and tested the gun on a street sign wasn't the first hole somebody did ^^ Swiss love their guns. We shot on 50 meter with a Sig Saur P226, friends gun, cheaper as the Desert Eagle (awesome to fire at night, the fire blast out of the barrel is very much impressive) You even can select rifle shooting (0.22 caliber) in school.. what I did ^^ Free to use shooting range and free ammunition once a week. Somebody in here more into gun licenses? I would like to make a license to carry my side arm with me.. possible here? You can't do that in Switzerland as a private, you need a job in relation or is a no no. Would be private for me, not sure possible.1 point

@Bos and @Bakstein420 hey guys, thanks for your replies. I think its very important to have a dog as they usually alert you to the on coming danger. The law fails us as even if you are legally armed and defend yourself, and end up killing someone, you will be arrested, charges brought against you, you would basically have to prove you innocent. Lots of headaches for you while if "He" is a "Kleva" and enters your home and there is a barrier between you and him like a gate, you CAN NOT open fire on him! The only time you can is if your life or that of another human beings is in imminent danger, eg. He points a gun at you, by which time he would have already shot you. A wise forumite said to me its better to have it and not need it, then to need it and not have it... What drives me mad, really mad, is when people tell me at least you got away with your life, really???? Is this the norm??? Like we should just be grateful that no other human being killed us that day??? How have we progressed as a species??? Why shuld I wake up and go to work? while u just come rob me of my belongings??? (Rant over...)1 point

Welcome! It is getting pretty hot and the heat is likely going to remains for a few more months. Only way to really cool things down and keep them cool is with an aircon. I was hoping to get away with out one myself, however the room I have my tents in just retains heat like crazy and this is without the heatwaves. So I will be running an AC for my grow. How big is your tent and how big is the room you're growing in? As for humidity, between 40 and 50 RH is really not that bad. With all the rain my humidity has been just under the 70% mark which is quite high but I seldom struggle with RH being too low - the AC may change that though. Plants should naturally increase the RH as they transpire, you could set your extraction fan to be on a timer (turn on for say 5 minutes every 45 minutes as an example) and not extracting all the time - that will help get the RH to spike a little and not just push all the humidity out the tent, may not make a big difference though.1 point

I may be a bit late, but I have a Fastbuds Fastberry that my cat damaged early on, and I threw it in the ground outside because I needed the space for something better / undamaged. Did not have much hope for it, but here it is 4 weeks later. Still some time to go, but surely a tough lady. At least 3 feet tall.1 point

Hey guys So I just wanted to write a short post on how my last week was living in sunny South Africa We had 3 break in's in 4 days, 1st one was 2 weeks ago on a Thursday at 3 to 4 am, guys broke a window so this woke us all up, so they fled. Police called, guys came out, done finger prints etc. And reported to us that there were many break in's the same night. Landlady called, she recokns she is not doing anything about the broken window, neither is she installing an alarm system and she ain't putting up any fence or wall around her house..yikes!!! Like really??? (Yip no fence around this house) Ok so the same Saturday morning these guys decided to come back, this time we don't hear anything and they managed to get away with some camping gear but it seems like they also scouted out the whole layout. Problem is we only realised this by Sunday night. (Items that did get stolen were still there on Friday). Monday morning at 4am we were woken up to lots of voices downstairs, we made our way down and lots of feet went running, got away with about 5k worth of meat and fish.(we had family coming over so we decided to stock up) The reason for writing this post is just to make people more aware, people have to be more vigilant at this time of the year. Don't take your security for granted, if you can't feel safe in your own home where can you feel safe??? Reinstate the death penalty??? What about human rights, ok so wheres my human rights when you rape my wife in front of me, then kill me? And all the while my family continues to pay tax which government uses to feed you while you in prison, they clothe you, you can even get a good education while in prison, and in fact you even have rights, if you a vegetarian the state must provide those meals for you, and don't call me a prisoner, that's a derogatory term, Im called a client of the state, what a joke!0 points
