Formula 1 has coco & perlite in it, and then some organic stuff like worm castings which I suppose make it a hybrid between soil and coco. You still need to use salt based nutes with it (GHE floro). I was going to go coco perlite but it was suggested that the F1 offers more of a buffer for a noob grower. I’ll follow the recommended nute schedule but at 50% strength and keep an eye on the ladies. Thanks for the comments guys. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

They are an additional accessory to AutoPots that you use at the bottom of the AutoPot to inject oxygen directly at the roots using an air pump. It's a bit like DWC but with a solid medium (soil, coco). Best of both worlds I rate and results are pretty good, although the benefits are most notable once the roots are more mature.2 points

Welcome Dookie! I must say I too prefer being on a local forum. Makes life much easier as suggestions are based on the local environment and what we have available locally. Post some pics of your grow and if you require any help or are unsure of anything, just ask!2 points

Fans just move air around, they do not decrease the temperature. They may help in a situation where there is a heatsink at a temperature above the ambient temperature and will help to bring the temperature of the heatsink down to the ambient temperature... however when you are trying to reduce the temperature lower than the ambient temperature is when things get difficult and often an AC is required. If you do decide to purchase an AC, I would suggest looking on the Facebook market place and other 2nd hand places first as you often find really good deals there. A brand new portable AC is easily R5k to R6k and you can get them 2nd hand for R1500 and at times even less. Just remember to clean the filter on a regular basis and ensure the condenser fins stays clean too.2 points

Welcome! I do not have any experience using Formula 1 however why not consider using coco and perlite instead? I wouldn't recommend you start feeding autoflower seedlings with an EC of 1.2, I would say start lower and slowly increase it as they get bigger. With my coco and perlite, I generally use fertigation so the plants are constantly getting fed with nutes. When I water by hand I also only feed nutes. I never flush my plants and have yet to experience any negative side effects. I generally aim for a PH range of 5.9 to 6.2. In terms of nutes I make use of the GHE tri-part nutes. I am not sure what airdomes are though?2 points

Hi everyone! I'm a first time grower and just wanted to reach out to the forum to say thank you for all the knowledge that has been shared and get some guidance. Now that I'm up and running I'm really struggling to keep my ladies cool and at the right humidity levels. I'm based in Joburg and growing in my apartment so it can get really hot (especially when my lights are running) and really dry. Considering how much time and effort goes into a growing a good crop I really want to make sure I'm growing in the most ideal environment as possible and affordable. The troops sprouted from the soil about 10 days ago and the temps in my tent can easily reach 32 degrees with humidity sitting in the high 40's to low 50s. I run my lights at night to try keep it as cool as possible in there but I know something's going to have to be done to decrease the heat asap before they get bigger. Any advice on nutes would be great, I'm growing in FF Premium Classic (green bag), since it's my first grow I'm not really too bothered on synthetic vs organic nutrients I've included a basic outline of my set up below and some pictures, any advice would really appreciated! Thanks again guys! Happy growing IMG_3701.JPEG IMG_3702.JPEG IMG_3721.JPEG IMG_3723.JPEG IMG_3724.JPEG IMG_3725.JPEG1 point

Hi guys, new to this forum, and about to start 2nd grow. It’s so good to read about growing from a ZA perspective (metric system, same seasons, same kak challenges, same “Kiff” slang). I’m about to start my 2nd Auto grow, having made some mistakes in my first attempt. Cheers Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

It really depends on the kind of high you want, the image below explains quite well. Also remember to check the trichomes on the buds, not the sugar leaves.1 point

Thanks so much for the feedback guys you have no idea how much it's helped me. I don't want to go through all this effort and end up with shit weed, so I've decided to head over to Makro/Game early in the new year and hunt for a proper solution. Ultimately I need something that's able to cool an entire room but not decrease the RH too much. I've accepted that when setting up a grow there are some items you just can't compromise on and environment management is definitely one of them. Once again thanks for all the advice guys, will figure out how to upload pictures better so I can get a decent grow diary going1 point

I have a Meaco dehumidifier and it’s been running 24/7 for months, it sucks an incredible amount of moisture out of the grow room or drying room. I’ve attached a hose pipe to it’s outlet which runs to a 20l drum which I have to empty every 3 to 4 days! Probably the next biggest cost next to lights but so worth it. Anyway I tried to run it inside my 5x5 tent during my last grow and it didn’t work. Besides the space it took up, it also heats the air it expels, probably 2 or 3 degrees warmer than ambient. So it ended up super heating my tent so I moved it back out into the room and it worked perfectly. It also made the room a more pleasant, stable space to operate in. Temperatures over 30 degree will ruin your taste. I would even go that far, everything over 26 makes your terpenes suffer. You have 2 very clear factors to keep in range. Temperature and Humidity. Both need to fit as good as possible (upper and lower limits).. the result is good weed I like your list.. you put some thought into all.. but.. as @PsyCLown said, there is to hot and to hot is not good for your plants, to much or to little moisture will hurt them too. The water vaporizer cooler will increase the room humidity level, a AC will reduce it. Depending what climate you have at your spot.. buy the right tool, not just what fits the wallet. Might make your life worse. If you run into 70ties in room humidity, you can expect to run into a mold issue. I use 440 watt on a 1.2x1.2 area, so you have enough light for sure keep that tent ventilated Have fun.. run a grow diary1 point

The baby Swazi and Purple Pineapple f1 lady got the chop. Spaced over 2 days as she was a big girl. Her sativa genes showing in the cola structure. Sweet fruity scents and very sticky, probably got more than a gram of scissor hash haha.... hoping to get close to 200gr dry. Lost 2 lower popcorn buds to rot, but we can live with that. The oscillating fan is doing its job. Shifting focus to the rest Bubblegum and Fruitpunch f4's which are vegging nicely after transplant to 75lt tubs. Germed WWxCheese, Pineapple Express and DBN Poison. Finished the first 1m3 of my amended soil and the 2nd batch is cooking. But we need a lot of it. Its used for everything we plant in various strenghts. From the Spinach, Lettuce, Aloe Vera, Sweet Potatoes, Gooseberries, Habanero's, Passionfruit, Guavadilla, various herbs and 5 varieties of Tomatoes. Busy times ahead.1 point

Good on you homie. What a great initiative. I hope the good karma comes back around many times over to you! Definitely keen to grow some of this at some point... but not this time or I would be all over this like a Mexican at a Tequila bar! Lineup looking full for a while on my end [emoji1787] Ho ho ho indeed! Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk1 point
