  2. During my high school year's all I wanted to do was go travel. My grandfather who had been round the world a few times said to me one day ' travel your own country first before you go travel the world '. I did just that. In the days when hitchhiking was still safe'ish, my thumb took me from the East coast to the West coast, Cape Town to Harare. I hit the road to the airport with 180 pounds in my pocket and returned 10 years later. It's kinda hard to explain but visiting those small dorpies and farm towns in SA prepared me for a lot overseas. I got into indoor growing beginning of lockdown thanks to reservation moonshine and the bug has bitten. I've decided to travel SA once again before I venture overseas but this time it is for the quality and service I believe is available in this country. Everything about this grow is Proudly South African. The setup: CABINET. Wife's custom shelving converted into a cabinet. LIGHT'S. @growopz QB75'S. 1 x QB 3000k/4000k. 1 x QB 3333k. 2 x 15w Osram led strips 4000k. Rigged and ready. Once again@growopz came to the rescue. Approached him with a budget and what I had and a plan was made. SOIL. JouMaSeSoil. Coco - Peat Perlite Vermiculite Basalt Rock Dust Michorizzae Diatomaceous Earth Bone Meal Dolomite Lime Worm Castings Kelp Meal Microbial Tea Ph tested at 6.5. Soil is made by a Cape Town local and so far so good. SEEDS. @Bay Seeds. Bruce Banner 3 x TNR F1. Glamberry x Lemon Jedi OG. Master Lester ( Dr Grinspoon x Lemon Jedi OG ). @Totemic. Choc Gelato x Ghost Train Haze. Choc Gelato x Slurricane. @Daggafontein Genetics. African Buddha. Big shout out to all of the above for making this possible and look forward to the journey of finding those South African breeder's and gem's. Next year bud's.[emoji109] Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  3. The girls have been chopped after 3 days in darkness and the Girl Scout on the left is showing some amazing pink colour and super dense whilst the master kush on the right has stacked up really nicely The white widow was a disappointment, but is full of crystals and hella frosty Lastly a photo of the fruit spirit that will start to be cured now , she’s came out alright at the end ( those nugs are all atleast 15cm long :) )even though she flowered the last half of flowering outdoors as she hermied . I’ll upload a final report on the quality of the all the bud once it’s been cured for 2 weeks aswell as the final yield , overall very happy so far with my first grow and confident I’ll be able to hit a massive yield on the next Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  4. Personally, I have seriously enjoyed coco and GHE for my indoor plants, and I like using organic soil with BioBizz for my mother plants and outdoor plants.

  5. Taking the ballistics of guns, especially hand guns, is a good thing to do. This gets done all over Europe.. also Switzerland, takes 6 months to get your hand gun license, they check you up ^^ . The difference is a bit how people look at it. We can only shoot max 66 meters on a friends property. Were looking for a 100 meter target practice.. shooting a air rifle with a professional muffler.. completely silent, birds not even get disturbed a few meters away. Had a drive, found a spot, shot to calibrate till a car pulled up with some youngsters, calling us all names and so on. We packed and moved. Checked with a friend in Tulbagh, wine farm.. sure, we do distance shooting too, just hop in. That is the good part in SA.. you always find what you need hehehe. We do the air rifle on 200 meters now, 100 wasn't a real challenge. 200, little wind.. great fun. In Switzerland, we went shooting in the forest, cases of ammunition, not silent hehehe every single hiker coming by had a look, talk and asked if he can shoot a few rounds.. and walked on. Never ever had contact with the Police in regards of shooting noise, hand guns to full automatic assault rifles. The major difference is that all male Swiss need to do military service.. or you have a medical document telling you are not fit to do that. So all are trained to use a weapon the right way, you even get your military weapon home.. with a full clip. Nobody messes with the Swiss.. as in each home there is a loaded assault rifle Lived there for 26 years.. I love em I will hand in my permanent residency this year... could already have done it a few years ago.. but the final point was the weed law i can grow my stuff legal.. yeah.. I get me the SA ID Have to do my Visa anyhow now.. so why not last time.

  7. As usual popped in a jiffy but this time it went into the garden. The glamberry I tried last time got chowed by the dog so this time got some protection. Also tried fimming earlier as last time the bonsai went into flower right after. Hopefully getting some branching this time. She’s now 3 1/2 weeks Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  8. Had a wild weekend that started on Friday. Absolute havoc, chaos and mayhem with good people/animals. Ended up losing R100 bet on the sharks and lions match, bought a 3Kva lister engine and generator, and the bad news found out on saturday morning my foot is broken in two places and ankle is sprained. It started with a silly bike accident about 4 years ago. Anyway the good news is had a seriously crafty weekend, made just under 100 grams bubble hash on saturday, and just under two litres of 60% lekka liqqa on sunday. My fullmelt from 35 and 70 micron bags. Seriously impressed with the beetroot and cinnamon mash that I used. It tastes earthy ( beetroot) and sweet ( cinnamon ), came out clear, instead of a pinkish tinge I was hoping for . Below is our setup from yesterday at the local watering hole. My competitors ( copper pot to the right ) did not hold back on any of the bells and whistles. They were hitting about 75% proof, puts hairs on your chest.

  9. This year....besides the total abortion it has been, it has also been a busy year for the cannabis industry. Lockdown was the final push for many, and it's great to see the industry growth expanding beyond government control. 2021 might just be our year. My year is kicking off with a co-lab on a unknown plant that came up in autumn in the corner of the farm where a bubba kush grew. The plant grew through winter and she managed to reveg, and I've taken a few clones. She absolutely reeks of intense grape bubblegum. So I'll be putting these cuts to the test in a few grow environments, and will be doing a dedicated feminized seed run. After getting a lot of positive feedback on my Bubbleberry Glue, I'll be re-running them for selection and hope to have seeds available in Q2. I'm also going to be pheno hunting Original Afghani #1, THC Bomb (Bomb Seeds), Double Lemon Pie(Dark Horse) Then I'll be doing a lot of testing on this years crosses... So plenty planned, plenty happening already. Watch this space. Have a very merry festive season. May 2021 treat us all well.

  10. What soil you got them in? I'll have clones in the new year for you if these dont make it...

  11. Soil is haaawwwt... Counting down again to 3, odds not looking great. Will be dead lucky to find a good female pheno, fingers crossed

  12. All eight of my Dinafem seeds spouted! The last one took so long I assumed it was a dud, so I started germinating another one in case. Some of them look a bit ‘runty’ but I’ll give them a fair chance. I found a relevant topic on a growing forum about seed orientation. If they all succeed then I’ll just run 5 plants in the 5x5, and four in the 4x4. Since I only had 8 x Air Domes for my 8 pots, and since everyone is closed till early Jan, I had to get creative with a rice strainer and a flexible aquarium air ‘stone’ to make the 9th Air Dome. 13. Hey yeah i had a mate with the same issue using ff soil. He never added nutes and had n deficiency. I suppose peopel scared to use coco due to the fact that it's got no amendments in. Im on my first grow with coco/perlite and find it realy simple to use so far . Only thing is you have to add nutes from the get go.so just follow your nutrition chart and all wil go smoothly.im using 15lt pots and water 2lt then my pots are just right, if i go 3lt then i get a +-20% run off, i do that every 3rd watering just for salt build up. But dont think its really necessary. I ph my plants at 6.thats just because im using ph drops. So its not 100%accurate. But so far no hassels. Coco is really simple and effective. 14. Flushing before harvest is definitely a myth. Flushing should only be used as a tool to fix a major pH imbalance or bad nute regime. Here is the Science.

  15. They worked faster recently, plus I have submitted it a year ago already. This has set me back by half a year at least and in the end the total waiting time for it to be processed could be ridiculous 4 1/2 years. You see, I will have to take care of the current visa to be extended and extended and extended again. That's quite a bit of money flying right out of the window every time. So yeah I might get back to you regarding that contact actually. It might even be cheaper and less work to do that instead of extending my visa time after time.

  16. @BigBud where you based? If you happen to be in the area I can hook you up with some clones to fast track you on the next one.

  17. I lived there for several months to, loved it, the people, country, the food, the freedom. In 1996 I could walk into certain shops and buy weed, bongs, pipes, papers. We were also able to grow weed where I was based ( Ticino ) working as a gardener. The time of my life.

  18. ^^ Reason why I recommend that is simple: 1. My guess is that the plant started to digest itself to feed the flowers with the nutes they need. 2. 50cm distance on 130 watt for 2 QBs... you can't reach the micromol the plant would like to flower. If you punch em to max, 50cm distance should be around 900-1000 mmol PAR. (pure guess, but I get about that on my boards)

  19. Compliments of the season to everyone! a quick update to week 9/8, last 2 plants in flower. Been a slow process but nearing the end. Small bit yellowing starting on the older girl. Reckon another 2 weeks are in order.

  20. I must agree, growing isn't difficult when you use the right products and have the right equipment. Lots of members on this forum will be more than happy to help you and guide you through your grows. Decide which route you'd like to go for your next grow (soil, coco or something else), let us know and you'll get assistance for sure! Nothing wrong with soil or coco. I personally prefer coco but had good success when I used soil as well. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk

  21. Just Cannabis can be super sketchy, it's a hit/miss I find. It tends to be "too hot" for most plants, hence the claims that all you do is add water. Also, I feel that with soil/coco, adding only pH 6.5 water might not be the move. I like to add water that is more on the acidic side, as in about pH 5.8. Soil/coco can raise the pH much easier than it can drop it on it's own, I believe it is the calcium within the substrate which allows for this. Your plants may just be unable to have absorbed as much nitrogen as it needed due to the pH imbalance. I'd be willing to bet that if you changed your medium to say either Organics Matters Living Soil, Freedom Farms Classic or any good packaged coco like Atami High Porosity or Gold Label Coco and used the appropriate nutrients (BioBizz for organic soil / GHE for coco) you'll be surprised how much easier it is. Grows like this can throw people off and honestly I'd blame whoever sold you the soil that didn't give you the right advise.

  22. I feel it is a common misconception that soil is easier than coco... Those plants look pretty hungry to me. Being autos, not much you can do now unfortunately. Autos need the perfect environment in order for them to thrive, otherwise your yield will be reduced. They do not leave much room for error. There are better soils out there - Freedom Farms (premium classic, green bag) is very popular and Organics Matter is good as well. Both of these soils have had some issues in the past with some batches. Soil will never be 100% consistent unfortunately. If you want to continue giving soil a try, I would recommend one of those two. Currently, continue feeding your plants with nutes and perhaps drop the PH a little as well, to around 6.2 as I believe Just Cannabis is not so much a soil as it is coco with amendments... not sure if there is even anything to help buffer the PH. How dry is your medium? Do not let it dry out too much. Looks as if the plants may have gotten quite dry as well. Also what is the purpose of the leca ontop of the medium?

  23. The final part of my craft weekend was to make some temple balls made yesterday after drying the grated frozen bubble hash. Got far less than I was hoping for, but happy with the outcome, RESIN. A quick roadtrip up to Natal next week and then back to bottle some black ale. Happy smoking folks.

  24. No need for bloom till end January for photos outdoors. The difference between Grow and Fix-Mix is that Grow is 75% Fish-Mix and 25% Molasses. The sugar isn't needed by the plant till flower.. but can help your micro organisms in your grow medium, I prefer to go Fish-Mix for veg phase and swap between Fish and Grow once they reach pre. Give the plant with the brown tips a flush with 30 liter water. Then let it dry up and go back to add 2ml Fish-Mix per liter you apply. When your plants go pre, is the first time you can add bloom, not before.
