Ahoy matey! Been a while but I have finally got a grow going again So I am quite fortunate in the sense that I did not have to start plants from scratch, got some larger cuttings from friends and most were ready to be potted up into 20L fabric pots already. Said friends did have some issues with pests and the overall condition of the plants meant that I needed to do a bit of work - top them, clean up the old dead leaves and now I need to start with some training and I obviously needed to spray for pests. When I got the plants I did a spray with a mixture of neem and pyrol, I much prefer Pyrol over Neem but had both and decided to not fuck around and get rid of these pests as the leaves had been attacked quite a bit by the thrips. Two nights ago I got some Beauveria bassiana (EcoBuz sell it as Pest Pro, as well as a few others under various names) and did a spray on my plants as a precautionary measure - not that I have seen any thrips since the first spray. I saw some bugs in the coco, but has not seen them recently and am hoping they have since died as well... not actually sure what bugs were in the coco to be honest. Some details on my grow, equipment and supplies etc. I am using Quantum Boards with Samsung LM301B diodes as per usual. I love these lights, they work really well and grow some dank bud! For air circulation I use box fans which are mounted at the top of my tent, blowing downwards. 23cm pots for the smaller plants, 20L Plant Matters fabric pots for the larger plants. The plants are all in coco with a bit of perlite. I use the 5KG bricks, buffer myself and just eyeball the perlite. I like to use GHE Tri Part nutes and I follow the feeding chart on the bottle I aim for a PH between 5.8 and 6.3 generally. Mostly in the 5.9 to 6.2 range actually. Below is a list of the strain I am running currently: Solfire Gardens - LSP (Lumpy Space Princess) In House Genetics - Bananium In House Genetics - Sugarcane Exodus cheese (not sure which breeder) In House Genetics - Jelly breath In House Genetics - Lime drops Exotic Genetics - Cookies & cream In House Genetics - Slurricane In House Genetics - Frosted apricots In House Genetics - Blunicorn TH seeds - French cookies Since some of these strains have already been flowered by my friends, I know how some will turn out and others I will need to wait until flower to know whether they will be keepers or not. So far it seems the Lime Drops and Frosted Apricots are not that great, Blunicorn could be better too I believe but I have not seen pics of these plants myself. The Sugarcane is a keeper for sure! Jelly Breath was quite decent too. The Exodus Cheese makes some really big buds I believe and French Cookies some very dense nugs. Cookies & Cream is from seed, there is a chance it may be a male. Also not sure how this pheno will turn out. I will certainly be narrowing down the strains for my next grow and scrap the strains which do not perform as well. I will be posting some pictures when I get a chance. Still need to do some training on the plants too, hoping to flip to flower before the end of Jan.

Hey Growmies, So I've stopped the autos for now and cleared out my grow space. I've been vegging a slurricane clone and a tart pops clone that will get all of my attention now. Flipped to 12/12 light cycle on 7/01/2021 and watered at pH 6.4. Deluxe Sugarcane, Blunicorn and Slurricaine (in that order) finishing up. The last of my indoor grows before a seed run and shutting down Untill May. I cannot afford running an ac. And the sun is a great grow light in summer.

The in-house slurricane was one of the best strains I’ve smoked, me and bud smoke a nice one blade joint and got stuck at a robot during load shedding. There was a traffic officer directing the 4 way robot and it was so amazed how he controlled the traffic he had white gloves and all the strain was so good that even being stuck in traffic was a fun time

I still need to feed but I'm feeding less, and overall the soil condition is improved if I compare how the plants are growing this year vs last year

Very well imo. Really perked up a tired soil, and plants are looking healthy as ever.

I agree, we the baby sitters. Got two going myself, first two didn't germinate but then neither did other strains I did with that batch. Lost 10 seeds and still have no idea what went wrong. I hear it quite different from professors and soil biologist around the world, very prominent figures. I'm sure when you get down to that level, there are still many unexplainable things. But the basics (and I don't mean this in an easy to understand way) they have down and that is, that nutrients on a macrolevel stem through to the microlevel regarding facilitation. Humic is suppose to be of the most complex structure being in the first stage of carbon decomposition. But not all Humic is the same. Leonardite rock humic is supposedly the most versatile in its super chelating ability, because its been decomposing for hundred of millions of years. Both Humic and Fulvic acids are known as intermediate chelators, one way or another the plant is using these key acids to unlock more micro and macro nutrients. The list of benefits for these acids is loooooonng. But when paired with kelp together maybe quadruples. But please don't quote me on this, I base what I know about the ratio on a Virginia tech 10 year study, and what now stands as the back bone for best application process in Bio-stimulants.

I built a airlift brewer and purchased a 55l/m pump, only to scrap PVC and chuck the air stones directly, Feel with a big enough pump you get more displacement from just the stones. Now, I'm done with the teas too, and following a much more simple methodology.

When I was making teas I used a much cheaper airpump. https://www.jungleaquatics.net/online-store/SOBO-SB9905-Double-Outlet-Air-Pump-p105310395 This with 2x airstones inside my bucket with the tea worked well for me. However for a Vortex, you want a more powerful pump... so going for Hailea may make sense then... but then you might as well build a Vortex brewer.

Interesting, just humic & fulvic acid with some kelp extracts and you're soil is performing well again and no need to frequently fertilise? @Totemic So as I understand it and on a basic level, the humic acid is something additional for the microbes to break down? Fulvic acid is a chelate to help make it easier for the plants to take in the nutrients. Kelp extracts, well, they typically provide auxins and cytokins and a few other things which are know to help stimulate plant growth in general with a boost in root development.

Time for some bud shots! 50 days from flip. Some look a bit more ripe than others for sure. The Jock Horror and Royal Gorilla in my opinion are the least ripe and the Aurora Indica and Grand Daddy Purple are both the most ripe. Zkittlez x Purple Punch and Criminal + are sitting in the middle. I can barely find an amber trichome so I think I still have maybe between a week and two weeks to harvest. My harvest ETA has been around the 17th of Jan so they are about right on for where they are now. That's what they say in the documentation, but it works just as well running the pump to your pot from day 1. Here's a quick pic of my 2 month old Neville's haze, running the pump 24/7 since day 1. Aaah, I didnt know that. Thanks for the heads-up. I just grabbed some mulch from a stockpile in our estate and washed it then packed in on my soil. I was planning to get some perlite but perhaps I'll just get some coco over the weekend. Fortunately, I watered before I placed the mulch on top of my medium

Same medium. I just covered the one with mulch to see if I can get the soil to hold moisture a bit longer. My topsoil dries out like a day and a half after feed or watering

Agree with you on this one. I absolutely enjoyed the blueberry glue. I have my last seed and don't want to plant it out lol don't want to lose the strain as they not for sale anymore. Hopefully as totemic said they will be available again in Q2, so waiting patiently here lol

These poor nutes are still looking for a home, feeling unloved and unwanted. They just want to make some plants happy and keep those plants well fed.

Yea. MJ is in good health.... the only thing i can think of is her going to "sleep" at the end of the day. i catch my indoor ladies looking like this just before lights out, and about an hour before lights on... but then they perk up right away knowing the sun will be back

Further development! Took some general pics and some bud shots of some notable looking delights. I want to write more but I've really not been doing much special right now. Since cleaning up the lower canopy, work on the grow has been pretty min apart from watering every few days. I decided to do less trimming in general and keep more larger fan leaves (within reason) on the top half of the canopy as I have usually in the past been quite aggressive with it. I do feel shorter strains can benefit from more trimming during the grow, especially ones with very short internodal spacing. It worked out really well for me in the past especially when doing topping and mainlining. Although since trying the al natural 'no hard training' (minus the one supercrop of course) method and keeping the bottom half canopy clean I haven't felt I've needed to trim as much leaves as before. 69 Days From Seed / 23 Days From Flip I always enjoy this part of the grow when the development of the buds are most prominent and observable from day to day I've cleaned up the lower parts of the plants since the last update to allow for easier watering and to focus the energy to the mid/upper parts. Canopy is sitting at about 30cm thick and light penetration for the most part is hitting every bud sight. Watering now about every 3 days. These girls can take a total of 50L to get fully fed. The supercropped girl has also come out very well and I most certainly will add the technique to my arsenal of tricks for future grows. 100% would recommend for eager plants wanting to grow a little taller than needed. I've also only now popped on the carbon filter. Don't want to get the neighbors too excited just yet they're just as excited as I am to test out the assortment of strains I will soon have. Can I call this a dagga lab yet?

Guys. This got way bigger than expected I think I may be sorted for a year after this Can't stop won't stop though One objective was to fill the entire 2.4x1.2 canopy. I think mission accomplished. I am very impressed with the quantum boards. When using two 400W HPS I was hitting like R1200 a month on electricity. These three quantum boards are getting less than R700 a month and electricity is pretty expensive around these parts (R2.69/kWh), so anything saved is a win. Beating the heat is also a major win as well. This time two years ago I was eating that heat with the HPS bulbs. Lastly where it counts, growth performance has been pretty comparable. I do still believe the science which says that HPS is unbeatable when it comes to spectrum and bud density/production. But damn man, I have only experienced positives so far with these QBs. The end result of the flowers will seal the deal for me. My expectations are reasonable based off the little test run I did in the last grow with the 4 soil plants under a single 240W QB, and those honestly came out so good.

Yip yip! Flip is officially today. Total time since seed is 46 days I've taken clones of the GDP, Royal Gorilla, Zkittlez x Purple Punch and Aurora Indica. The Aurora Indica last harvest was really nice after a cure so I'd like to get some more of that. I'd like more of the Zkittlez x Purple Punch as only one of the three seeds survived, although I don't know what the strain is like yet. Mates want some of the GDP and Royal Gorilla, how can I say no? Cloning for the first few times has also been a treat.

Bokashi bran everywhere lol, and i like using small amounts of washed rice water, asian folks been growing everthing green with that for thousands of years , my granny born on the pescador islands next to Taiwan, i can remember all the farms there had mutant veggies growing in the land, the were quadrupal in size to anything i had seen before, my gran always said rice water and all the farmers i met siad the same.... folks tale probally , that islands volcanic ,mineral and nutrient rich soil was probally the answer hahah
