As I just had a refresh read up, I decided that why not just post it. Auto-Flower and Training In general, this is my personal opinion.. but as I grew a few 100, this is simply my stand of experience. I did both LST and HST on Autos. HST I did topping and FIMing. I prefer LST and I quickly explain why. LST (Light Stress Training) I couldn't really notice any stress on a plant, when I did LST. It helps you get your canape even and you get better air flow and light on your buds, what makes them denser and more tasty. LST is what it says, you disturb the plant on a minimum and bind it to your liking to open it up and use to control how tall you want them. I do not want to post to much information, as it really helps, if you read deeper into training methods before you just 'try'. Knowing what you do comes in all life situations with huge benefits. ScrOG (Screen of Green) uses a net/grid to help you with the spreading With the 4 plants per person, SOG (Sea Of Green) I do not even enter ^^ but my preferred method is also very depending on your climate control. You have so many plants in SOG, to not run into mold, system must work perfect. HST (High Stress Training) I do NOT recommend those methods to anyone having no idea what we talk about. Doing HST on a Auto can have a VERY negative effect on your yield! So if you do not know why and what you do.. don't grab any scissors! When can you do HST? First of all, you did that on Photos and know your strain to perfection. Your auto plant is praying and is a little god damn happy mother f@$%er, environment is perfect. Only then, you can consider it!! One last word: NEVER EVER!!!!!! FIM during flower! That will for sure ruin your harvest. Topping The topping cut is a tick to high to my liking, but is the right area, I usually cut closer to the nodes I keep, like on the first photograph, right side part. FIMming (FCUK I Missed (on purpose^^)) Why FIM? FIM gives you more colas. Instead of 2 mains you get on topping, FIMing can provide you 4 to 6 mains, but is also to my experience the most stressful disturbance you can hit the plant with. Topping seems to be a notch less stressy in my experience. But still.. HST is exactly what is says: HIGH stress for the plant. She will show you the finger for a certain time duration.. how long, that is the question. With limited life time on Autos.. to long and your yield suffers catastrophically. Avoid stress when the plants flower, you will reduce potency for sure. So yeah, grab the scissors and snip at your own risk.. if you never did it, start with a Photo, you can bugger her as much as you want during Veg and keeping her on 18/6. You just waste time and should gain yield. Once you put them 12/12, same rule, keep stress to a minimum. I ran into the pics at fastbuds and as pics explain better as any words, I grabbed them, so the pics are NOT made by me. Quick ADDON ^^ If you grew the autos before and they became 1.50 and taller, strong, fast growing strain, Topping or FIMming becomes way more interesting. If the strain stayed around to 75-90cm tall, just LST. You don't want to disturb them to much. Trained plants never grow taller as untrained... so dwarfs will not go giant with what ever training you do. You train to improve the quality of the colas you grow.5 points

These plants have been in flower since 13 December. I have noticed some of the lower leaves turning yellow, some dying. Could this be fade or a nitrogen deficiency? Im growing in living soil so if its a deficiency, what could I use here? The tallest is sour diesel, middle is GSC and the smaller one is a cannatonic cbd.2 points

@Dank so I see the one product jamies shop sell is this: https://www.jamiesgardenshop.co.za/shop/bio-build-1kg-r60/ Which contains.... salicilic acid, as well as sodium bicarb. Meant to help with PM and increase resistant in the crop.2 points

A remarkable recovery. Holly comes from a Transkei origin seed. At a month old she was fimmed by a red locust so I surrounded all of my seedlings in tulle and dowel tents until they were big enough to withstand pests. Today, Holly is chest high and showing sex. I have pruned and trained and she is nice and bushy. I am hoping for some good bud from her.2 points

Hi all, I'm Jean, just doing the decent thing and introducing myself. I started my first proper grow in October and having a lot of fun watching and learning! What I believed to be three Autos turned out to be two Autos and one Photoperiod fem, harvested the Autos yesterday and will be learning a lot from the Super Lemon Haze still in the ground. Nope, but a very nice set. If you would go to the right from the picture location and a bit further towards the lake (backwards in the picture).. you would get to one of the spots i lived in Zurich I kinda miss the "Oxa".. name of a after hour club, opening at 5am. Good sound, crazy people, I enjoyed my stay in Switzerland very much1 point

And no one has mentioned malted barley. Use as is as ammendment to your soil. Or grind it up and make a tea. Worm tea. Add some worms to your containers.1 point

Cotton and soybean seed meals or 'cake' are also worth mentioning as soil amendments. The byproduct of oil pressing. But...seems finding a supplier is a difficult. RSA is not as clued up on organic amendments/supplements as the US of A.1 point

Yeah that looks like they are fading to the finish.- which is very normal. Just remove the yellow and dying leaves. Those ladies are very 'bushy', preventing decent air movement through the plant, that could possibly lead to conditions for PM, due to no air movement. Depending on your local weather conditions of course. Inland your RH would be lower than here by the coast. I would have done a lekker defoliation before they go into flower. Just my 2c Are you feeding them anything to fatten up?1 point

Hi Charl, Welcome! Tapping into the international / US market, well.... do you want to be able to sell to that market? If so, I feel you are going to struggle to do so from South Africa. People are use to very quick shipping and if you are shipping from SA to the US it will not be quick and it will cost an arm and a leg. I assume you are reselling different breeders seeds and are not a breeder yourself. So competing with the other online stores who can ship to the US for free or very cheaply and do so quickly will be quite a challenge. As for selling cannabis related products online, there are loads of online stores doing this. You need to figure out how you are going to stand out from the others, especially when you are simply reselling products which other online suppliers sell as well. Why should someone purchase from you as opposed to one of the other sites? If you approach the local distributors, you can sign up with them and get access to all of the their stock however you typically have to purchase x amount of products and product to x value. You cannot simply purchase a few bottles or nutes in different sizes type of thing. It is going to be a box of one nute in one size.1 point

Happy 2021 fam The weather has been quite a bit sunnier lately. My plants get a lot of shade throughout the day with the angle of the sun right now. Trimmed the clover groundcover under the BluberryKush #4 cut for the first time, quite stoked how the smartpot is coming along. I started training the DankCheese a bit, cause she wants to outgrow her neighbors. Plan is to go for a Hedge'o'Weed with those three. The Sherbert and BlueberryKush #3 cut are much slower than the Cheese right now. I have a mole that hits the raised bed every now and then, not sure how much root damage is happening. The Tropic Bananas from InHouseGenetics are doing well so far, not many issues. A bug topped the TB #1 so she is starting to bush out nicely.
