Sorry. I have been quite slack with the updates here as well. Plants are all going like boeings. Some really nice heads forming up. I am really impressed and quite surprised how nice these look for a first timer. We are in week 10 now I believe. FastBuds Sour Diesel: President seeds WW3: Not sure how much longer. Funny they seem to be around the same stage even though they are supposed to be quite different flowering times. Got a loupe for my birthday, gonna start playing with that in the next few days and see what I see. Finally the FastBuds Green Crack CBD jumping into flower quick as hell: So that's what's happening on the ganga front in my garden at the moment. Welcome any tips tricks observations or comments as always. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk3 points

whats up man!! so it would seem you have 2 technologies in the above pics...electronic ballast and magnetic ballasts. you are going to only use the digital electronic ballast. you plug it in with a kettle cord/pc power cable, and the other side of the ballast goes to the light fitting. either wire can go to either point on the ceramic globe connector. and then bobs your aunty, it should work.3 points

Morning growmies.. So I am setting up my first ever Indoor Grow. As a outdoor grower this is a daunting task and as exited as I am... I am quite nervous... @zairek Bud it seems assif you had n mother of an infestation.... I do not think I ever had such an infestation in my outdoor grows ever... Bloody hell.. The tent and all accessories was nuked and afterwards drenched in a strong peroxide solution.. Hope there is no eggs hiding somewhere... The only thing I am not to sure about is the light settup. I have the following and is not sure how to proceed.. Please give me some guidance in how to connect the following. Thnx in advance buds... Keen to get going as the plants are days away from showing sex and would like to put the CBD Charlotte's Angel inside to prevent them from getting spoilt by the ultimate light source.. There's a power cable from the light to the dimmable 600w electronic ballast.. There is a few extra ballasts. I'm not to sure why and how to connect these.. As I said... Indoor is a new world to me and I am not going to try this myself as I know my stoner ass is going to screw something up... I feel that it might be a simple thing but would rather have the experts guide me through this.. These are the extras I received and what is causing the confusion..2 points

The harvest has been concluded. Apart from the one Criminal + cola that got some mold, another cola from one Jock Horror also started to get some mold, so I decided to start chopping the whole grow. Some plants could have gone another one or two weeks, in particular the Jock Horror and Royal Gorilla, but this is in my opinion specific to just these strains as they do have quite long flowering times as opposed to the others as they are supposedly more sativa dominant. While trimming I did not find any more mold which was a relief. Took me roughly three days to get it all done, it felt like a time warp trimming tree after tree. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I've taken the veg plants from the small veg tent and now placed them in the flower tent, and placed the drying net with the harvest into the small tent to continue drying. I find the smaller tent with the drying net creates the ideal drying environment. The drying process in this stage has in the past lasted up to 10 days which I feel is a nice slow dry. I think I am going to be pretty stacked for a while... So let's just go ahead and start up the next one2 points

I have harvested one of the Criminal + and the Grand Daddy Purple. Looking at them again tonight I decided they were ready. I found a temporary place to hang my drying net, only two levels though. I'll need to wait until I am ready to harvest the other plants before I will be able to use the inside of the tent for the entirety of the drying net. I might actually need another drying net The Grand Daddy Purple really came back for a vengeance. A terrible first two runs but wowi did this plant come out quite nicely this time. I am glad I gave it one more chance.2 points

Then you only want to be running the 600w in that space. All those extra ballast spares can be put together for a separate veg area etc. 1m2 is a very workable space, and with some training can get you a more than decent yield.1 point

Howsit guys, I'm new to the forum and an ameture grower. I've got about 6 plants in the go, all different strains and some of them are doing great, others not so much. I'll include a few pics, hopefully you can assist me with what's going on with the problematic ones. Thanks, Matty1 point

I've done snowboarding and skiing when I was in Europe and more recently I got into muay thai but since the gyms can't really do any contact sports I haven't done much apart from hitting the bag. As soon as the gyms are allowed to operate fully again I'd like to do BJJ and get back into muay thai properly. In future when I have hundreds of thousands of Rand to blow I'll get into paramotors especially when they figure out the electric versions.1 point

I have never used that soil before, I have used Explogrow but I do not do full organic grows - I like my salt based nutes and coco. I quite like using explogrow for when I germinate seeds actually, I do not think it is a true microbe inoculant but it does contain trichoderma and a few other goodies. I'd personally still use it in combination with an inoculant such as Environoc 401 or EM Pro Soil. I'd lean towards adding some extra amendments for flower as not much nitrogen will be needed during flower and larger amounts of phosphate will be wanted for sure.1 point

Awesome man thanks for sharing How old are your plants dude, and are they photo periods or autos?1 point

Hi man, exciting times ahead! Im currently growing 4 plants 1 with Orgasoilux, 1 with FF, 1 with half Orgasoilux and half Bio Leaf and another half FF and Bio Leaf. I haven't had to feed anything besides water and some ExploGrow and Cal-mag. The plant in the top right bucket is in Orgasoilux and I haven't had any problems yet. I'm going to start feeding some Bio Bizz for Flower and see how it goes and how the plant reacts. IMG_20210112_093508.jpg1 point

Thanks guys, it is in an auto pot with air dome, so the amount of water is theoretically up to the plant’s demand. However I think they potentially can over-water when plants are still young which is why I suspect they introduced the air dome... Good idea to place them diagonally on their trays to allow them to dry out. Every second day till their roots are more established I guess. At least this way there is individual control on each pot vs cutting the reservoir supply to all plants. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I feel you proved my point in your response. You know what you are doing and you know what you want to do and how to go about doing it. With growing in general, there are soo many uncertainties and inconsistencies and I more research certainly needs to be done. It is not yet on the same level as typical commercial farming where the research has been done to the point where people will come out, test your soil and then be able to tell you how much fertiliser to give, when to give it, when to do this and when to do that to maximize yield. There are products which are designed to increase plant health, growth and yield but if given to your crop say in weeks 3 and 4 then it actually has the opposite effect although before and after is fine and increases yield. Cannabis I do not feel is at that level yet, some are still debating whether to flush or not. lol Different strains and phenos can have different requirements. Lots of talk about products which can assist with increasing yield, frost, terpenes etc. but how much research has been done as to how well these products work and the best way to make use of them? Research as to how safe certain substances are to use on cannabis as we smoke it and do not eat it like a lot of other crops. So I feel there is still a lot of unknowns with cannabis in general. You have not done any big "no no's" with your grow, so I guess it comes down to trial and error, testing, research and dialing everything in. If I have a suggestion or thought, I generally mention it. I think that is the best one can do at the moment. After dialing in the basics and such, I think one ends up in the unknown territory with a lot of speculation, personal preference and trying to find various ways and things to help improve ones grow. Maybe I am wrong though.1 point

I want a perpetual system between two tents. One tent with mothers and clones/seedlings and the other tent for flower. I have the mothers and clones/seedlings already going in the smaller tent. I have two mothers, two different strains and I will have another two mothers also two different strains by the end of the next run. So by July I should have 4 mothers of 4 strains that I really like and will grow perpetually for as long as desired and swap out a strain from time to time. The flower tent I want to be more uniform in terms of canopy height. The plants I took mothers from grew at the same speed and finished at pretty much the same heights, so that will help. I also want to play around with some SCRoG nets and maybe do some topping to get that spread nice and wide. I discovered that one Criminal + cola got bud rot which I swiftly removed the entirety of. Humidity has been a problem, sitting at 70% for long stretches. I made preventatives early on by adding additional silica to my feeds to help the plants fight off any mold and disease on their own. I suspect the cola was simply too big and held too much moisture (it was the size of a coke can). No other time would I complain about the size of a cola. I could be that guy that goes and blows cash on a dehumidifier or AC but mama didn't raise no sissy so I shall use alternative methods. Topping will prevent such massive colas from developing and getting a more even canopy will allow my fans to blow across all the flowers more evenly. The strains themselves for the majority appear quite resistant to any problems, also I didn't clone the Criminal +. Apart from that I'll need to figure out a way to hang my drying net because the tent I used to do that in is now occupied by the mothers and clones/seedlings. Lastly, I am considering some autopots so I can give my self some time away at some point too in the future But ja awe @PsyCLown lekker tune1 point

With jut like that, best to sell everything and go back to buying bankies from the dudes at the petrol station. You can grow weed and I am sure you can handle most issues which you may run into, so I guess the thing is - what exactly are you trying to achieve or what do you want to try do better or which aspect of your plants / grow do you want to see improvements on etc? Your plants look good and healthy. Its the first time you are running these strains, if you want to just try and improve overall - perhaps try get a better feel for each strain and adjust what you feed them accordingly... if you want to go into that much effort. I know I personally do not. I'd rather change plants and be able to have each plant receive the same strength of nutes due to time savings, its easier and less effort this way and for me personally would be a better compromise. Environment control one can only go so far without additional equipment such as an Aircon or dehumidifier and not everyone is willing or is able to justify spending the money to purchase the equipment or pay for the electricity they use as it adds up quickly.1 point

Busy looking out for that sign to harvest. I took some more bud shots to survey the trichomes The trichomes all for the most part look super milky and a few still looking kinda glassy on the Jock Horror and Royal Gorilla. End of week 3 for my auto Sour Diesel and WW3. Lots has happened but life has been a little crazy to update much at the moment.. Resolved my bag troubles (sorta) and decided to do the unthinkable and repot both of these autos. Before After They didnt seem stressed at all. Got them at just the point their roots were beginning to reach the bottom of the old 5l pots they were in. On that note... Store agreed I got the wrong bags... definitely 5l and not 10s. Generously offered to replace the 10s free of charge which was the nicest and best outcome I could have hoped for. The problem is... [emoji23] I think this time they gave me 22s instead of 10s. Wtf [emoji23] I guess that settled that for me... 22s it is! Pictured above is the newest addition to my grow journal... *Fast Buds Green Crack CBD*. Potted in a 15l bag from GroHydro. She is end week 1 now. The "10l" replacement bags dwarf the 15l grohydro bag. They also took ALL the soil I had left to fill... so the *WW3* is now in a half FF premium/ half St Clements Nursery special. Even the *SD* has a bit or st Clements on top. Also... biobizz is expensive AF. So have only commenced belatedly (week 2) with root juice. And week 3 with Fishmix. Still have a little of my bioheaven sample so using that as well. Sprayed a few times with neem oil and planted some sacrificial nasturtiums and marigolds to distract the bugs. Seems to be working. Sacrificials getting swamped by the wildlife around these parts. Can I stop for a minute to mention the bugs. Holy Moly the bugs. Lucky none have made it onto the main grow but the pilot grow has been chewed up a bit. Seen some weird critters though. Hows this guy. Well... what was left of this guy after I stabbed him with a long stick from faaarrr away. Only half joking. Also these okes on my nasturtiums These okes are getting pyrol'd asap. Something seems to chow a lot of my flowers often before they can open. When I investigate I find tonnes of lady bird looking critters but not much else. Sprayed all flowers and my tomatoes and strawberries with neem lol. Next week pyrol if it keeps happening. Anyways... They both responded incredibly well to the transplant. Perhaps aided by the velcro sides, they showed no signs of strain at all. So I started LSTing them sommer there and then. You only live once right. I'm not really happy with how I did it this time. Was hoping for more of what I got training my pilot grow... Will work on it. Think that is the highlights reel for you all. Happy holidays yo. Updates will be infrequent till 2021 I am sure. Peace Growmies. Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk1 point
