  1. So these two where gifted to a buddy of mine that makes oil for cancer patients that have no financial means of getting medication for themselves.. I will germinate another two for myself to take cuttings from..

  2. Another week. THC Bomb Bubbleberry Then the 4 pots between the 2 are 4 x Strawberry Fields(Crockett Family Farms/DNA Genetics), that I'm expecting above ground tomorrow. A few of us in CT pitched together to get a 12 pack. Really excited to be adding these to the hunt.

  3. Morning folks. So at the start of week 6 of flower I can already start seeing the buds fattening up real nicely. Tricome development is also on the increase. The smell is also quite distinct and leaves me with a smile.. It is clear for the flowering progress that I will most probably do a staggered harvest. Purple Queen has a recommended flowering time of 56 days/8 weeks but I will keep an eye and probably take her to 9 weeks. And my special clone might go up to 11 weeks. Upper Cut seems to be setting the pace with Tricome, smell and bud development. Oni hit it out of the park with this strain. I am quite excited to wrap up this grow and savour all the different flavours (and truth be told I am itching for my next grow) Wedding Gelato Old School Purple Queen Special Clone Chocolate Haze Upper Cut Glookies Clones Top View Tent Front View Tent Side View

  4. Yeah thnx bud.. I am still verry nervous for some reason.. Awaiting the test subjects to place in the tent. None have shown sex yet and the next CA CBDs I've only put in a tot glass today.. I will update that thread as soon as I get going.. Might just finish up the two Autos in the tent from tomorrow morning.. I am still very un decided.. I also have some test seeds from @Totemic I want to start but that will have to wait until I finish up the net house. Below a picture of the spot currently.. Need to start but the cash flow at this stage is hampering the progress.. I am not in a hurry though.. want to do it slow and propper.. The whole area will become a nethouse. This will house a aquaponics setup some Hydro and my normal outdoor grow. Vegetables and companion plants will take up a large part of the area. It's about a 4m x 6m in total..

  8. I said I write a little guide, so here it comes. How much is to much and how do I check it? If you checked into lights to grow indoor, you will run into some fun diagrams of light foot prints. Those help you to put the lights at the right distance. All good lamps provide you with the hanging distances for each stage Germination, Vegetative and Flower. If you build your own lights, you run into the issue, that you are a bit clueless, how to hang your lamps. Best to get that sorted is a Quantum Flux Meter. It measures the PAR (the light relevant to plants) light arriving at the sensor and hang accordingly. I am in the lucky position, that a friend bought one. Expensive toys You have one.. not telling you anything new.. Aim around 250 mmol for germination, around 500 mmol for Veg and 800-1200 mmol on flower. If you do not have a Quantum Flux meter.. I made some tests with normal Lux meters for your phone.. lets call them mixed results. But... Germination and Veg it seems to work. I have issues reproducing my results on different lamp configurations for the high readings. Varies up to 20%, what is to off to get clear results. Strangely, the low reading were spot on.. we talk 2-4% variation. I used Android tablet and phone, had the same readings .. using this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pardel.photometer&hl=en_US&gl=US Put the phone/Tablet horizontal for all readings. 250 mmol should read 20k Lux 500 mmol 40k Lux Everything above that was just going different readings depending on lamp configuration. But as it look rather linear to 500.. you could use that to put your plants at the right light. Yes, the lamps are really that far away during germination ^^ My single QBs and TS3 gave me the 80k Lux at 1000 mmol.. but 2 other lamps gave way weaker readings 60k Lux. And I used 5 different lamps, 3 different diodes. The Germination and Veg results were spot on. Try, let me know if your plants grow bigger now. Now, you want to buy a good lamp.. -> store! You get help to select and a warranty on it, plus the instruction how to use the lamp.. so skip the Quantum Flux Thingy right away. Are those lamps really that good at 30k Rand? Yes, they are that good. Do I need one of those to grow awesome dank? Nope... ^^ Is no rocket science to build a good decent lamp doing the job.. but if you are not in the mood.. buy one from the grow store.. LED!!!! nothing else they wanna sell you. Size of the lamp is given by grow space. Don't go the other way around or you end up with a lamp way to big for your space. Why is that bad? What generates light these days, also generates heat. And as soon as you put a dimmer on.. you are back in the guessing game how far to hang now. Yes, light is way more tricky as fertilizer.. fertilizer come with clear instructions. Lights are more pointing in the right direction. Why LED? For a home grower it is the best choice these days. Very reliable and low heat light source. The times for HID systems are over in the home grower circle. There are still good reasons to go MH/HPS, but not for any new starting person. No Sir, hands off! LED are expensive! Really? I just build myself a 4QB setup for a 1.2mx1.2m tent.. 280$ with shipping. If that is to much.. thank god, you didn't started growing 30 years ago Buy or build.. but stick to LED.. very short section.. nothing to add really. What type of LED lamp? The right selection will make your life way easier. Remember, light produces heat.. and to much heat is not good for your plants. We used a few lamps and come to certain conclusions The no go Zone Those lamps just "gather" the heat below and if you use such a setup in a single tent.. your airflow will suffer one SHITLOAD. I wouldn't go this way.. we have one of those.. and is the worst lamp of all for climate control. Other disadvantage, any uneven canape is very hard to handle. Bar lights Lets bring the disadvantage up, is the same like the lamp before.. if your canape goes very uneven.. will get more work. BUT.. airflow wise, they are awesome. Put the fan over the light and point down to cook up a storm.. cools light and plants and you lose no space to a ground standing fan. If I would have 2-3 sections to grow, the one for the big ones, I would use a bar light and just sort the canape to fit. Those lamps are doing a better light distribution and little resistance to your climate control. Central configuration Still monsters but at least compact and offer not as much airflow resistance like the ones with build in non lighting surface. You lose a lot more light strength to the side and they bring some heat to the center plants. My second last choice. Single QB Build Lets start with the disadvantage, you have to adapt more ratchets.. 4 instead of 2. Advantages are airflow and dynamic handling in regards to canape. The 150mm duct brings the fresh air and the oscillating one is top mounted. The QBs run without any heat sink, 2 per 240watt driver. I used 3mm tread rod to build the hangers. For one grow section, you don't care how the canape grows, you can handle dwarfs and bean stalks. Hope it gave some ideas what to look for and what not to look for. Always remember.. light produces heat and heat needs to get removed. If your lights hinder you, they might be the reason why your plants stay on the smaller side. DIY tips You want to order and build? Read up! You need to read a bit and decide where to go.. and we mean spectrum frequencies ^^ All the LED light producers offer different frequencies for the diodes. For a grow light, my personal suggestion is to go with a 3000k 660nm board or a 3500k 660nm board. I avoid anything having more on it, like UV. The IR you want, that is a sexy wave length for flowering. There are 301B and 301H diodes out. B gets sold as V2 and H as V3.. both work. The difference is the hardening layer on the diode, the rest is the same. H stands for Samsung's Horticulture range, better environmental resistance.. buh hu hehe go for the cheaper one if money is a issue and the expensive if you like to waste it a bit QBs you get around 30-40$.. getting cheaper each year. Driver you can pick up anywhere you find it cheap.. i get mine from digi-key. If you are not in a rush, look for the free world wide express shipping they do from time to time. You build such a lamp system in an hour in very stoned conditions or 30 mins sober Hope it helped somebody.. or I wasted quite a bit of time

  9. Good day Growmies A few of us was blessed with some Charlotte's Angel CBD from @PsyCLown Thanx again bud.. I germinated 2 beans and these two will form part of my very first Indoor grow.. Quite nervous and excited at the same time.. Thnx to @zairek and @Wulf who had a big hand in the grow setup.. I will put up the setup the weekend.. The first seedling started pushing soil Monday morning and by 12 she was showing face all ready.. Both were potted up and will be grown outdoors for the first 2 weeks to strengthen them up.. Not sure how the move indoors will effect them..? Will keep you all updated weekly and thanx again Psyclown.. Cuttings will be available to Forum Members in the CPT area and Garden Route.. For free..

  11. Ok so I'm biting the bullet and just doing it.. Put a extra fan on the tent and the temp hovers around 28°C.. RH now stands at around 42.. put a bowl of water in the tent and that seems to help.. I put the autos in there so should know by tomorrow if it was a bad mistake...

  12. So I have the light connected the way @CreX suggested.. Still have heat and RH issues.. not as bad but almost the same.. Currently trying different configurations to try and see if I can find the sweet spot. The fan plays a major roll I would assume and the one I have in there now is not causing enough airflow.. The humidity in Kuilsriver seem to much lower than I was expecting.. With one test it went down to 35... What would be the lowest reading to have it acceptable? The best I could get it at was 55..

  14. Evening Growmies. Just to give some feedback.. The CBD oil is most definately improving his mood and he is far more active.. He is still going more and more blind as the days go by... But today I noticed the the white in the eye is not enlarging but subsiding.. Although this is happening he is still blind as a bat... 11 years old..

  15. I'd say have the ducting for the extraction fan connected to the HID reflector and then blow the air out the tent - that way the air inside the tent will get sucked up towards the HID bulb and help remove the heat generated by the bulb out of the tent. I'd also rather save that R200 and put it towards your Quantum Board fund.

  16. I've only done bud washing on my outdoor plants as the wind blows sand and dog hair all over. What I found very handy is to use a salad dryer spinner after my wash to get most of the water out before I hang to dry.

  18. I only use this on my indoor plants. Outdoors I have 40~70l pots and they have irrigation so I want them to dry out before the next watering cycle. They get water multiple times a day. My indoor plants get water once a day so they need some assistance. But hopefulle I will just do grow beds in future.

  19. Okay so small update... I have stripped most of the big leaves off and I have topped all of them. I am trying to encourage the 4 main colas this way and so far so good I am okay with them potentially growing slower due to this as I actually have no space for them... So here they are!

  20. Hi guys I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a cmh 630w DE complete fixture . I have been researching these lights for a long time but could never bring myself to pay the huge import duties on these lights. Finally I have started on what I hope will be an amazing set of lights. It's a very simple light weight design and I was a bit nervous at the size of the reflector as I have always been a fan if oversized reflectors. Setup was quick and easy , it was just a matter of hanging it and plugging in . One thing I must say to anyone that may get one , make sure you clip your bulb in properly it takes a little force but as you will see in the pic below you need to pinch that cable properly with the clip . I have used a lot of different lighting , the only light I haven't really tested is LEP , I was blown away by this light . I was left speechless at how much light this little fixture was producing . This light was putting out almost double what my 600w MH was putting out and only 5% less than my 1000w hps ( see pics below ). Now i know plants use Par and not Lux but I put up the readings are a reference as cmh is known for putting out incredibly High Par readings . While there is slightly less Lux than On a 1000w hps I can't test Par and have no idea what the added spectrum will add yet. I have put one 630w cmh into My veg side so the plants can get use to the extra UV and the lights themselves as I like to minimize light shock when going from veg to flower . I will then run 2 x 630w in flower to test run. What I will do on this post is update once a week following one plant that will live under the cmh for 3 weeks in veg the the complete flower cycle .I am not going to be completely separating things so there will be other light mixing with the cmh but the main light o this plant will be cmh. I will be running a strain I have run for years and know inside out . I will know as soon or if there is any change to it at all. So far my first impressions of this lighting system is very good and from what I have read and researched this light should perform well. So far it's lived up to everything I had hoped . If anyone is in the market for a new light I would suggest you give cmh serious consideration Cheers

  21. 14 days in and a light Frost is forming , she seems to be keeping up with the hps nicely at this stage.

  22. Not much to report , pics taken 6 days into flower and first bud sites are forming fast but about the same as my ladies under hps.

  23. Been about a week now so update time... Took about 4 days for the plant to adjust to the new light , think I had it to low to start so have her a bit of a shock. She is drinking and eating roughly 22% more than her siblings , she lost a little colour dew to the fact I didn't realize at the start she would want more food . The leave are slightly more leathery than her siblings as well , this can be expected with the added uv. Not much to see at the moment , she will start flowering in 2 weeks . Cheers

  24. @alemo I don't expect anyone to give me anything , I paid for my light like everyone else lol and I think it was worth every cent . You also know as well as I do that 10k for proper lighting is not a lot @Thatoneguy no idea yet to early to tell , you have probably read the same stuff I have about cmh now it's the practical test. So far I am well impressed with this light but it's still early days , the ladies are loving life u see it.
