A quick update. Think I can say the ladies (early signs of being female) are healthy and happy. Plants in the 20l pots have topped out at 1.3m and the 10l pots are at 700mm.4 points

I'm silently optimistic. This flower, while there have been three females to the cross, is also 5 generations worth of my own male selections.2 points

Hello 420SA, Great to be here and very happy to have found a strong local community with buckets of knowledge and expertise on this amazing plant. I'm a Uni student located in the Southern Suburbs region of Cape Town. I've been an on-and-off outdoor grower for a few years and definitely consider myself a novice still. I would like to improve my growing skills by engaging with the wealth of knowledge this forum hosts. I currently have 7 outdoor photoperiods going; 2 being in the ground, the rest in pots. Most are bag seed of decent genetics I've collected and then I have 1 Wedding Cake and 1 Grande Crack in pots, bought from Biltong & Budz. 2 of the bag seed has gone through some terrible re-veg due to early planting schedule. Proper rookie mistake. I've also already harvested an Amnezia Haze auto flower this season, with a harvest of around 50 grams dry with no training, not much amendments and water with a pH of 8.6. So was far from ideal, but still gave me some decent flower considering the less than ideal grow. I have since started pH balancing my water and feed, I am seeing improvements, but my plants are telling me there is still much to learn. I have recently got a 4x4 grow tent and Mars TS-3000 LED light and will be starting my first indoor journey in 2021. I love Outdoor cultivation and will always keep it around. I would like to improve both indoor and outdoor techniques and practices and know this community is loaded with experienced heads that can assist my journey! Will start a grow diary in due time as well. Look forward to being a part of and engaging with this community! Bless.1 point

Two tracks I been listening to heavily. Reminds me of when I was a kid watching a bakkie drive past in JHB with guys on the back, they whipped out AK's and robbed a bank, then started firing randomly. Took me sometime to find out the song at the end of the first video. It was worth it.1 point

I understood the technique to still be a passive-hydro style, but would introduce an airstone in a much bigger water reservoir to accomodate two plants each. I was initially given 23 regular seeds to begin with, and still somewhere down the line - due to my lack of experience or simply genetics - every single one "male'd" out in the end. A great disappointment indeed but again the learning experience was worth it. It is my goal to introduce this technique to my tent after completing my first HPS run, and still go the route of nylon rope but into fabric pots this time. The idea was to assist me with the lack of time I really want to dedicate to my grow, and dedicate the few minutes I can to other duties and maintenance. Depending on the reservoir size, I'm thinking four plants in 15L fabric pots, my same DIY "hybrid" soil/coco and perlite mix with ammendment running under the HPS again if I get the current run done right and on track. All in a 120x120x200 tent. Going to keep harping on about vegging under HPS in Durban but let's hope for the best!1 point

Hmm, interesting way of watering. Similar to how the blumat carrots work in a way. 20 seeds and all were male? Like what are the chances. Super unlucky and unfortunate. What's your plan for the next grow? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

@CreX thanks for bringing the upload limit up again. Used duckduckgo and hey presto. Don't know what I did but hey, success. Maybe it's because I haven't had a puff in 2 days. Maybe I should change my name to goofballdave.1 point

Hey all. I spotted the beginning of spider mites on my outdoors. Clipped the affected leaves and everytime I water I give the whole plant a light spray when watering. As backup I crushed 2 garlic cloves, 2 chillies, half an onion and let it sit in 3l of water for 3 days then sieve. Usually use (spray the leaves and stem) this for mealybugs on our palm trees. Was gonna try it on the plants but Murphy's Law, the light spraying seems to have worked for me as plants are tip top now. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

So I finally finished setting up the flower tent properly last night as my fans arrived and I had cable ties (I use a looot of cable ties in my tents, seriously useful things they are!). Took some pics as a quick update. This is what my flower tent currently looks like, still got space to move over a few more plants once they are ready The top of my flower tent, as you can see its 4x 240W QB's and 2x 30cm box fans and lots of rope ratchets and cable ties. lol Veg tent, with the autos and cuttings. The baby plants at the back of the veg tent, still a few weeks before they will be going into flower.1 point

@Chris Jay hey bro. Thanx again for sharing the information. I was able to support and get myself a copy. Looks like one hell of a read with its basis in science and fact and the courtesy of a local flavour to tie it all together. Again thank you1 point

Nothing to report other than the plants are happy. Left is x Ghost Train Haze and the right is the x Slurricane. Front 2 are from indoors. Then a couple more from indoors out of shot. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

Pic #1 x Slurricane. Pic #2 x Ghost Train Haze. Looking healthy and standing at 1300mm including pot. 1000mm from the soil. Water every 2nd day and none watering days I give all the plants in the shade house a good sprinkling. Temperature is rising and pumping wind is hot and dry. Pic 1&2 outdoor x Ghost Train Haze looking healthy. Pic 3 x Slurricane looking healthy. Got some more germinated for indoor but those are been moved to a combined diary. Keep those eyes peeled. @Totemic I'm looking forward to the outdoor end result as this has been a straight forward hassle free grow so far. [emoji109][emoji1690] Next year Peeps, keep it safe. Pic #1 the Ghost Train Haze cross. Pic #2 the Slurricane cross. Both plants loving the shade house and as with the other plants these will not be moved again. The roots will be punching their way through the bottom of the pot into the earth soon. Standing about a meter tall at approximately 6 weeks with only sunshine and water. Got some more germinated for the indoor grow but those have found themselves in the queue for a combined grow so there may be a duplicate diary now and again. Mmm some sort of problem loading pics again. I'll try again later. Believe me when I say ballistic. Been walking around with this huge grin since I saw them this morning. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

What can I say. These babes are going ballistic. About a month old and nothing but water. [emoji1690][emoji12]@Totemic. Do you perhaps have one or two of these beans left over@Totemic? Want to add it to my library of local breeder's. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

Pic #1 Choc Gelato x Ghost Train Haze. Pic #2 Choc Gelato x Slurricane. These two are loving the shade house. Doing their own thing and getting water Monday, Wednesday and Fridays. I'll be leaving the indoor seedling in it's tray for now. To scared to transplant to be honest. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point
