  2. Also did a bit of harvesting of another kind. Been dabbling in chilli sauces, smokey jalapeno and cayenne and very soon a batch of hot habanero. The last of our tomatoe harvest, getting too hot on the north coast for them now. Sweetest sweet potatoes we ever tasted, grew in 50/50 canabis soil and sand mix in a 75lt tub.

  6. Hey, that's your first grow, right? I am sure you'll get some good smoke from that harvest. And you learned how to meet precautions against bud rott and avoid it during your next grows. I grow outdoors and let me tell you there are so many lessons to be learned and some of them can hurt a lot. As for the seeds you found being autoflowers... It depends on where the pollen comes from. If you neighbour grew a male photoperiod plant and your plant has been pollinated by that one, it's difficult to say what genetic traits will be expressed. I found a seed in one of my autos last year a grew it out for fun as I wondered about the same thing. It turned out to be automatic, but it also turned out to be male. Just give it a try.

  7. Chopped them over the weekend. Rot was spreading. Ended up losing the main cola of the Ww3 and the Sour Diesel. I think so far around 15-20% of the buds have been thrown away. Cutting them was a rather sombre rather than happy affair as I found more and more soft brown patches in between the bud. For a while I actually contemplated throwing in the proverbial towel and sticking to outsourcing my smoke[emoji1787] They in the garage drying with a small fan moving nearby. Hoping to salvage some thing yet. I got 2 seeds out of the Diesel... what are the chances of these being autoflowering? [emoji848] soaked them and planted one yesterday. 9. Hi First post. First grow. Apologies for the long post I decided to plant some bag seed on the 1st Jan. The plan was for the bag seeds to be a pilot grow, to practice all the research I've been doing online (420sa was/is a big part of my research, you are all amazing!). I wanted to convert my cupboard into a grow room slowly, just a fan and lights to veg for February, then complete the setup with an exhaust system for flower in March. It's a small space, 96x50x155cm (0.48sqm), but I want a carbon filter and noise as low as possible, so balancing size, cost and noise is where my planning is currently. I planted more seeds than I needed because I expected less of these old bag seeds to be honest, some over 2 years old, but they all sprouted. They're growing well now, almost 5 weeks in. I'm enjoying training them and seeing the different ways they recover. The hardest thing has been getting watering right, probably due to my OCD 'helicopter parenting' special growing technique, which I have now mastered. I borrowed 2x30W flood lights from a friend for the start of the grow, then bought a 120W quantum board from @Light It Up this week, which came with 3 Tortoni feminised seeds from @Totemic. I put 2 of them in a glass of water till they sank, then into small plastic pots with half FF premium classic, half worm castings and a few teaspoons of kelp meal and mycoroot. Been 2 days so far, waiting (im)patiently... Here are a lot of pics lol. If anyone has comments, especially if you have experience with a similar setup, I'd love to get some ideas and suggestions from locals on a budget. I think I've read enough articles online for a while... Started taking pics at 14 days. Wet cotton pads into FF soil was super easy and went from dry seed to breaking soil in 48 hours, should've maybe stuck with this method for Totemic seeds, any thoughts? Just grew out like this, like it topped itself, with some other weird growth too First day under lights. 21 days old. Growing the weirdest and fastest of them all. I haven't trained or topped this plant. I kept looking for roots through the side slits, then saw this. New 5 litre fabric homes. Gave 2 away, not enough space. Started topping 3 of them. The Runt @ 4 weeks, a few days after some LST and before some pruning. Adding the new light. First 3 days under 120W. Noticed better growth on topped plants compared to LST, so topped the rest of them. Praying to JAH these Tortonis pop!

  10. During my high school year's all I wanted to do was go travel. My grandfather who had been round the world a few times said to me one day ' travel your own country first before you go travel the world '. I did just that. In the days when hitchhiking was still safe'ish, my thumb took me from the East coast to the West coast, Cape Town to Harare. I hit the road to the airport with 180 pounds in my pocket and returned 10 years later. It's kinda hard to explain but visiting those small dorpies and farm towns in SA prepared me for a lot overseas. I got into indoor growing beginning of lockdown thanks to reservation moonshine and the bug has bitten. I've decided to travel SA once again before I venture overseas but this time it is for the quality and service I believe is available in this country. Everything about this grow is Proudly South African. The setup: CABINET. Wife's custom shelving converted into a cabinet. LIGHT'S. @growopz QB75'S. 1 x QB 3000k/4000k. 1 x QB 3333k. 2 x 15w Osram led strips 4000k. Rigged and ready. Once again@growopz came to the rescue. Approached him with a budget and what I had and a plan was made. SOIL. JouMaSeSoil. Coco - Peat Perlite Vermiculite Basalt Rock Dust Michorizzae Diatomaceous Earth Bone Meal Dolomite Lime Worm Castings Kelp Meal Microbial Tea Ph tested at 6.5. Soil is made by a Cape Town local and so far so good. SEEDS. @Bay Seeds. Bruce Banner 3 x TNR F1. Glamberry x Lemon Jedi OG. Master Lester ( Dr Grinspoon x Lemon Jedi OG ). @Totemic. Choc Gelato x Ghost Train Haze. Choc Gelato x Slurricane. @Daggafontein Genetics. African Buddha. Big shout out to all of the above for making this possible and look forward to the journey of finding those South African breeder's and gem's. Next year bud's.[emoji109] Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  11. A bit of a stretch I'd say. [emoji16] I've decided my next few grows the plants are gonna be left to do their own thing. I'm quick to jump into something and my grows up to now have been multi strains in one cabinet and me snipping left right and center not knowing what I'm doing. You can imagine the outcome. So for now one strain in the cabinet and no training until I've learnt a bit more about the plant in general. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  14. And then as for the control, you gotta use a 2 way humidity something to make sure your bud stays at the right RH. Whether you grew 20g or 2000g...RH control in cure is vital

  15. Glass is generally the go to gold standard in terms of storage. And it works well for small to meduim crops... But bigger than that I would buy bpa free food grade black plastic buckets as they seal air tight, and can be dropped haha

  17. Good call bud.. I had the same last season with a real lucky strike with a great Swazi Pheno on Bag seed I've had for more than 10 years.. Picked the wrong spot and she did not get enough sun... Could kick myself... Will not plant straight into soil if I'm not certain she'll get full sun all day.. But I also harvested early and had a good amount of some real surprisingly good buds.. You saved a good amount and that will keep you bussy at least for a while.. Enjoy.. looking forward to the next one..

  21. Appreciate the feedback and kind words! May move the seedling into the ground then and see what happens... fabric bags are prime real estate around here [emoji1787] When payday arrives will reload on Freedom Farms soil and drop the next batch of autos. Will hope for a less rainy next 3 months! Got some lovely Fastbuds from black Friday to pop [emoji16] Sent from my SM-N960F using Tapatalk

  23. Looks good, with the 5L pots they're going to be small plants. I'd have tried maybe 10L pots and fewer plants 20L may be a bit too tall in terms of pot size as you only have 1.5m of height. Perhaps around 2 to 4 plants inside the cupboard, flip them relatively early as you do not want them to get too tall and LST will certainly help in terms of height and size.

  24. What's in these seeds @Bay Seeds? 1.6m from soil and they just keep on growing. Have to look up to these ladies now. Short chubby one at the back left came from the indoor grow and had a bit of a chop a while back. Very happy plants.

  26. Wet paper toweled 2 of the seeds 4 days ago. One of them popped on the 3rd day in the morning and i decided to wait another day in the hope that the other one popped too. Waking up today the other hasn't popped so I'm thinking of putting it in water for about 12 hours then paper towel it again and see. The one that popped: tap root grew just a little but more from the 3rd day,so I'm definitely about to put it in my medium, which I will post a pic of below will update

  31. So the tent evolved somewhat and is now populated to the rim... I think I have the fluctuations under control.. Temps range between 27 and 32 and RH 48-64. The Autos are almost done.. I would say about a week for CM and 3 weeks for the MA.. The Totemic babies are almost size to flip and I can not wait.. CA MA

  33. I pop the seeds straight into jiffies, which are on a saucer with a few mm of water in it... Make sure the water never dries up... And presto... So far I have had near 100% over the past 50 seeds or so iv popped. As you can see... I have 3 OG Kush seeds that popped, and behind them I have 4 Red Mandirine seeds that I have just transplanted into their first pots. No humidity dome... No temperature mats... Just straight up jiffy and tap water lol

  34. Got stuck in with a little defoliation this morning. Opened up plenty bud sites that never really made it past the net. A lot more light penetrating now, but still have a pretty solid canopy left.

  35. Not the best pics but here we are. First pic is CG x GTH in 10l pots. Short but bushy. Should be showing its sex soon by the looks of things. Pic 2 & 3 is the CG x Slurricane in the 20l pot. Tried taking a pic of the one in the 10l but the damn plant just blends into the plants behind it. Nice and bushy it is though. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk

  41. Time for an update. Lesson #1 for 2021 is stick to one strain in the cabinet. I did a Damnit Dave and planted what I came to realize are very different growing strain's. Everything has been moved to the shade house and I'll be running individual strain's one at a time. Everything almost set, just waiting on soil then I'll start off with a@Totemic grow. Pic #1 the African Buddha from @Daggafontein Genetics. Pic #2 Choc Gelato x Slurricane on the right and Choc Gelato x Ghost Train Haze from@Totemic on the left. Front one's came from indoors. Pic #3 Master Lester from @Bay Seeds. Pic #4 Glamberry x Lemon Jedi OG from @Bay Seeds. Two on the right started outdoors. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk
