Welcome @Brain where is Pinky at? Outdoor season is starting to come to an end with plants going into flower now, starting now will likely be rather disappointing as previously mentioned. Your best bet if you want to get some bud this year still would be to try an auto or two, look at doing a grow indoors (not greenhouse, that is still outdoors - in the elements... The cold fronts in winter will still be felt and good luck trying to heat up the greenhouse). So indoors in a room, cupboard or grow tent with a light and fans and so forth. Will be relatively costly to setup in comparison to an outdoor grow - alternatively this gives you lots of time to do research, play around a bit and get a game plan going. Then you can get your outdoor going towards the end of the year and have a nice harvest in 2022.

Soo many variables and factors which come into play, soo much we do not really know and are unable to measure. Climate certainly plays a big role, excess heat can certainly lead to terpene degradation. I must say I disagree with flushing before harvest, it is a myth and does not benefit the plant whatsoever - a recent study I saw and posted somewhere on the forum actually seems to point in the direction that no flush may end up with better tasting weed if anything. Stressing a plant is not always a bad thing, it can trigger various defense mechanisms in the plant and boost yield, trichomes and terpenes. Too much stress or the wrong type of stress on the other hand can be bad and lead to undesired affects. While the article is a nice read, it is not always very precise. A lot of what we do is still guess work and following charts and there is still legacy information going around from who knows how many decades ago when growers needed to figure shit out via trial and error and make use of what they were able to get their hands on. In agriculture, companies are able to tell you what nutes to give and what quantity to give for each week of the plants lifecycle based on your specific soil and so forth to ensure you are able to maximize yields and so forth. This does not happen with cannabis, we do not know for example that perhaps during week 3 and 4 we should actually lower all nutes to increase growth as a random example an then perhaps during the 2nd week of flowering / pre-flowering we should just feed P and K or whatever may be the case. The approach is a broad one, generalized nutrients, follow a chart and it should work out quite well and your plants should yield decently and get a good end result. You can add these things to possibly help the plant along the way and make it more resistant to this and that but it's still quite vague I feel and a lot more testing needs to be done and I am sure is being done and will continue to be done now that it's a lot easier for this to take place and happen.

Hi @CreX Ok, Planning on moving forward, I would love to be able to grow outdoor and indoor(greenhouse). I wish I could tell you what type of soil I have in my garden, but I really have no idea. I think its sandy but really cannot tell you for sure. I do know that so far it has grown, Butternut, Eggplant, Squash, Chilli, Tomato, Beans & one year, 2 or 3 watermelons. I have taken some pics, I hope these indicate something of use so you would be able to tell me which direction from here? Thanks

The only reason I moved away from acdc lights is because I could afford the quantam boards lol. But I do like the more spaced out panel. I have a 3rd design, where it is 4 mini led panels but in one fitting... It gives a greater spread than the newer acdc models... And I feel it also puts out more light... Even though the draw is still 150!! So I think you got a deal with the slightly larger panel footprint. Another note is that I also find them fuck hot... But if I put a fan on it... Little pc fan... I gained 20% luminous intensity. Went from 9k lux to close to 11k without adjusting the distance of the light or plants. So definitely add a system to cool them a bit to get more out of them

Welcome.. You stumbled upon the correct forum to get you going and with very knowledgeable members, you will be well on your way to becoming a green thumb of note.. I would suggest to read as much as you can of the threads on the forum and then decide on the way forward.. This time of the year outdoors could be tricky.. Your plants will go into flower late in the season and will flower into winter.. If you do not have the right spot in the Garden you will be stuck with all sorts of problems.. But just do it and see what happens.. You'll be well knowledgeable for the next season. Ensure that you choose the correct medium to grow in and ensure that you have good seeds to start off with.. Starting with Autos might be disappointing to a beginner as they are very sensitive. The best learning experience would be bag seed. When you have honed your skills a bit then you could spend some green on good seeds.. Practice germination first.. Enjoy and welcome to the best comunity ever..

I was reading over terpenes once more to see what new is out there. You find about 200 terpenes and 100 cannabinoids in one plant. My simple calculation was, the bigger my plant, the healthier, the better. So main focus was fertilizer. I will most likely redo my Biobizz tables and make a monstrous change.. but that has strangely not much to do with terpenes, just more yield. It wasn't hard to recognize, that my weed quality went up, as long as I kept my climate in the perfect range. The Quantum Flux Meter gave the next huge increase in quality. Aweh @Brain Welcome to the forum, best place to ask questions and learn. Seems you allready got some greenfingers there, nice yield. Good advice in the above posts, bit late in the season now for planting photo periods. You could go the autoflower route if you want to start now, but as mentioned they can be finicky. Your soil doesnt look bad at all. (We have pure sand here on the northcoast). For growing cannabis it would benefit from some aeration and more organics as mentioned. You could for example add coco, perlite and wormcastings and build your own soil or you can buy prepackaged soil such as Freedom farms. You say you have space, why not start a compost pile for next year, then all your plants will benefit. A greenhouse or nethouse will help a lot with weather, wind and vegetarian pests of which there are many to contend with. Make sure about location! We have a 18m2 tunnel where our flowering plants finish up to avoid weather, butterflies, worms and hoppers, cause you cant spray much on your plants while they are in flower. Enjoy the journey.

I agree... Soil looks fine... It certainly brought you decent looking harvests!! ... But looks like it gets pretty packed... So adding some perlite or even coco to loosen it up a bit would go a long way as cannabis loves easy draining soil/meduims

Your soil looks fine.. Might be good to mix with some Garden master Topsoil mix and ad 40% Perlite. Regarding your bag seed, they should be viable and would be a good option to start with and test the soil mix.. It's hit and mis with soil mixes especially with cannabis. Depending on your budget, I will go with Freedom Farms Premium Classic.. Depending on where you based, start the beans in pots so you can move them arround and get them out of harms way if necessary..

What's up @Brain!! Outdoor season! Starting now would be quite disappointing unfortunately. This is the time of year to start growing massive outdoor dongs on the already large and prepared bushes. Starting now would lead to very small plants with minimal bud unfortunately. How are you planning on going forward? What kind of soil does your garden have in it? Will you be growing in pots or the ground? I am on the fence about the Autos... At this time of year... I would maybe get a few auto seeds and give it a go... Even if you mess up, you will still get more bud from the autos than you will from starting now with photos. Hit us up with some soil pics and maybe give us some insight to your current green experience... Weed or not weed... Can you grow shit in your garden already or are you really new to the whole plants and growing thing?

Outdoor season is in flower now so not really the time to start. Perhaps trying some auto flowers to get started. [mention]Biltong and Budz [/mention] has some cheap auto seeds to try out. I know that @CreX moved away from the ACDC lights in favour of some Quantum Boards. @CreXHow did you find the two lights compared to one another for interest sake? @Batista No clue on the differences or what diodes are being used, I wouldn't recommend you use them for much more than veg though. Sounds super hot, you may even get more output from the light by placing a fan on it, to help keep it cool.

Hi everybody, I just joined 420SA, just popping in to introduce myself. Gone through the rules. Looking forward to getting involved and to chat with other members. If anybody would be so kind as to help me begin my first grow or to point me in the direction of where to find information and people on this forum to ask about this - That would be absolutely great! @Stinger96 Hey bud, I was so sure I posted a update to this thread but dont see it now (???), anyways to answer your question, Yes I did spray her down yesterday afternoon. Got some Bio Neem and Bio Pyrol, mixed up 3 liters of water and hosed the plant down like proper, proper. Also found 2 more much smaller worms. I also tried to manually remove all "webs" and poop using a ear bud as suggested by @SAgrower, (Thanks for the tip bro, it did help), I did wet the ear buds and that seemed to have helped even more. Its a very tiresome process, having to go thru each bud site. After inspecting every single bud site I must say it doesnt look to bad as not asll bud sites had webs/poop/worms,just a few of them. I hope the hosing down sorts out the problem Any other suggestion in as far as pest contrl is concerned will be highly appreciated.

Plenty of space in the yard with loads of light throughout the day. But I will also look at purchasing the light for indoor grow. Speaking of Bag seed(and I hope I know what you mean by this) I have 7 seeds of a bud I had from last year, in fact in March it will be exactly a year that I have these seeds. Will they still be okay for planting? As this will be my first real attempt, perhaps it makes sense for me to use what I have and see what happens? I have germinated seeds before, perhaps I could do so with the seeds I have then transfer them to a few small pots to see from there? Please could you recommend a medium while I have you guys here, I read somewhere on the forum someone mentioned coco and perlite? From what I read this is an ideal medium for growing, Would I use this with some soil from outside? Thanks you guys.

I grew fastbuds auto zkittles. Yield was good, buds were dank, smoke was fantastic. Bought the beans from trophy seeds. Was the easiest grow i've ever done.

You can also buy fem seeds and just put them in 12/12 from the start.

Maybe I just got lucky with that genetics. Split a 10 pack of seeds between 5 people and it looks like I got the only pheno like this. Tall and stretchy like the Slurricane and tastes like kush mints. My other pheno is more indica, like the platimun. But frosty like the slurri.

So this is what this light did for me. Deluxe Sugarcane from Inhouse Genetics.

Man every time I walk into my house I smile, thinking my house is actually allowed to smell like this.

Did some defoliation last night in the flower tent, was much needed for light penetration and air flow. A very mess grow indeed, but this is what happens when you start with lanky plants which need to be trained and are quite tall already. The smaller ones in the front are a bit better as those were a bit smaller when I received them. Tent it starting to smell quite nice and I came out with my arms being a bit sticky after trying to get to the back to get rid of excess leaves. I love the smell of cannabis plants in flower.

Week 3 I really don't know what to say so I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

I'v had great success just letting them float in a glass off water for 2 to 3 days...tap root usually pops on the third day...just let them float dont tap them down.

Agreed.. but if your soil mix is to hot things turn out badly... For beginners this is not advised..? I've gone straight into FF Premium Classic before and they love it.. It's just when you have expensive beans you tend to over think and screw up.. just my opinion.. When you just don't give a shit and JUST DO IT.. it works out fine...

I've found that my seedlings seem are stronger and more vigorous when I plant directly into the medium.

I like soaking then into paper towel - I like being able to see when the tap root is poking out then I put them into coco.
