Week 5 The pics seemed to have gotten jumbled up. Sure you guys will figure out which is indoor and outdoor. On the indoor 4 plants are a bit smaller. Other than that all plants are looking pretty healthy. Outdoor grow also starting to take shape. It's been interesting watching the two grows although outdoors is a week behind. Development of the plants have been a lot slower. I'm lucky to have the space to run multiple grows at a time so seeing the difference between plants in various soils, pot sizes and environments has been a huge learning curve for me. Found a local soil guy who's product I'm very happy with. Joy Ma Se Soil. R150/30l comes in at the same price as me making my own soil and he delivers. I prefer working smart instead of working hard. Some may say lazy, I say more time available for planting and maintenance.7 points

A quick update on my auto's, the OG Kush has been the fastest growing auto and has now started to go into pre-flower / stretch and is pushing pistils. Below is the Pluto Cut which has also been doing really well! The Gelato below is by far the slowest growing out of all the autos, hopefully it is happy to veg for longer to catch up in size. Could just be a bad seed, I have more Gelato seeds so will see when I run some autos again how it compares then. Last but not least, the LSD-25 is below which is growing slight faster and bigger than the Gelato but not quite at the same rate as the Ethos autos. A picture of all 4 together:4 points

Interesting, prices are all over the place. I think if I had to get soil, I'd go for ff or Organics Matter still over the 420 mix. Perhaps if a few more give it a try, we can get some more info and see how it does Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk3 points

So last night I culled the Cookies & Cream as it turned out to be male. It has since been replaced by 2x Lime Drops (finally) which were put into flower last night and now the flower tent is FULL! .... until harvest. This will be a staggered harvest as I am sure you guys noticed I have been adding plants into flower in batches.2 points

Here and there someone mentions a for sale section in this forum, is that a thing? I’ve looked and can’t find anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I got the 90 / 10 ff coco, so far it seems decent but so does the BioLeaf which is easier to find up here in Gauteng and cheaper. So I'm leaning towards the BioLeaf at the moment, will continue to monitor and see if I experience any issues. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

So the coco which the autos are in is from a 5kg brick and then I just eye balled the amount of perlite, so cannot tell you the ratio. But I've since started trying out BioLeaf and Freedom Farms coco to see how they do as I'm getting tired of the 5kg bricks and effort required to expand and buffer them. Do you guys think I should defol my autos or not? Previously I did and it worked out well I feel. What would you guys like to see? Defol or not? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

I saw now you have them in Coco.. What is the ratio between Coco and Perlite? Apologies if it was mentioned..1 point

Found this.. HydroherbAfrica Sells it for R160.. https://hydroherbafrica.co.za/product/420-mix/ Happy harvest is R110.. https://happyharvest.co.za/product/420-mix/ So with shipment you might get away with it being cheaper than FF.. But I will not change.. Had some fungus kgnat issues but since I mix Diotomatious earth in my mix I have not had anny issues.1 point

For some reason they fascinate me... and I'm a bit skittish for them also... Have you seen their fangs... I always expect them to bite.. When I find them on a plant it is assif I have peace that there will be no pests arround..1 point

I saw this product on Facebook a while ago and wanted to try it, the price was around R100/R120 a bag for the 420 mix 30dm but I couldn't find it in Cape Town. I saw another grower on Instagram use the 3sixty brand compost in their mix, he said it had less chunks of bark in it.1 point

Put them under cover as we had a few drops of rain.. and any more weight would break the plants. Tied them down.. but the top is just getting way to heavy1 point

Is called the classifieds and is pinned to the main ribbon on the site1 point

Howzit bud.. You really reliving the golden oldies.. I remember when we went over from Jays Jumunga Mix and the Techno cene To Rave, Faith Less and the works in the early 90's. When Truth, 330, ESP, DNA and Corona Cafe was the places to be.. I was a bit of a Shaft and The Doors guy... more the alternative cene but I could not resist a candy flip and a good set from DJ Lea.. David Guetha kept me busy manny a night.. The chemicals really screwed with my mind and I retired to weed only.. Good old days those were... King of my castle is still imprinted on my mind1 point

Well probably not hey. I only do soil outdoors and when I do it's usually with Organics Matters Living Soil or the Freedom Farms Classic (Green Bag) with BioBizz nutrients.1 point

Many apologies for the delay in this prize announcement. We had a bit of a hickup waiting for a voting panel member who hasn't logged into the forum for a while. We eventually decided to discount his vote for this month and went with 6 votes from the voting panel, usually there are 7. And the winners are... 2nd Place @Onion This came down to a combination of votes for multiple of his/her pics that got nominated 1st Place @DamDave Well done guys. I'll be contacting you by PM shortly A big thank you to our competition sponsors @PASSTHEDUTCH & @THCSA1 point

Hi folks. So it's almost time for my last update on this diary. I am currently 8 and a half weeks into flower and will most probably start harvesting this weekend. I am using the breeder guideline for flowering time as well as my overall perception of bud development, calyx structure and pistils. Wanna try and do it old school without the microscope and tricome assessment. With the naked eye you can still see a progressive change of colour. On another note I found out that my special clone is an Ethos Crescendo RBXV2 what an amazing score from a great buddy. I saw my gat a few weeks back. Tried germinating in tea bags. Read somewhere that it's great. After 2 weeks my plants still hadn't grown their second set of leaves. Thank goodness i managed to save them. TEA BAG'S ARE A NO GO! DON'T TRY IT!!! They are now 5 weeks in and loving life. As for straight up planting, FF and organics matter living soil is the tits.1 point

Its pretty easy- A 14w Led b22 or e27 bulb has a 14w driver powering 14 x 1w leds. Get the correct spectrums 6500k,4000k,5000k,3000k and enough of each. They are cheap, and they only fail one at a time. Stack enough together and you can beat just about any growlight.1 point
