Hi to all my family, I'm new / back, and want to firstly apologize for suddenly going dark and after gaining such momentum and friends and family, went silent. It's not an excuse, but I lost my job before C19 and then that hit, and unfortunately I was weak and not finding work, put me into a mild depression, and it's been hard but I have slowly picked myself out of the hole and starting to pick up the tools and pieces again. This place was one of the only places that made me feel at home and I have really missed you all, those I made close friends with and the conversations and adventures with the new members who came after me that I've missed out on, has been the hardest part of this all for me. Time has come for me to put my full attention behind cannabis and this community, and that is what this time has taught me, it's my passion and dream to grow, meet like minded people, get educated and help educate, all for the love of Cannabis. Thank you for reading, blessings. StickyD4203 points

Thank you for the support, and I have a grow on the go now, Autos as @Promalready convinced me previously to try them, and oh wow. I have also started my seeds I won in the competition from GSR, the Juggling Canon Balls and Rooi Baard, along with the 3 Humboldt Blue Dream Auto, about a month ago, and its helped build by confidence again. These will be a so so run, but maybe will turn out to be something as they seem to be really taking off now, and put it down to being more positive and happy myself. The next grow, oh yes, that will have the full from start to finish log, and you'll all get to enjoy that along with me. Soon, I will be popping a lineup of Nirvana strains, which will be in the above log, and as mentioned before, this time I'm going to go full send, and will be making a few moves into setting up relationships with people and companies, and excited to have already started this with @Marijuana Seeds SA and big things are to come, and as most of you know me already, I'm here to give back and will with @420SA consent, leave my new Affiliate link to purchase your very own Nirvana seeds, and through the Affiliate program, would happily, aand again with consent, add those to the monthly prizes and or how 420SA would agree upon. That would be the start, and much more to come, with my own page growing on social media, where I will run separate competitions and such, with the same logs and pictures, and share more of the adventure in general. Peace to you all and thank you for the warm welcome back family.3 points

Bro choose fish or grow.... Not both. You are heading for N toxicity and lockout if you continue with both. Bloom only gets used from week 3 of flower... Are you using it already? The biobizz chart assumes a flip to 12/12 with first 2 weeks on chart equal first 2 weeks of preflower, and from week 3 on chart is day 14 of flower If these are photoperiod plants, then you stick to the week 2 part of the schedule throughout veg, but choose one of the veg nutes not both. Then from the start of your 3rd week of flower.. Day 14, then you start with bloom.. The chart also doesn't stop with the veg nutes, while I personally drop them from the start of the 6th or 7th week3 points

I've noticed the same. Pistils disappear into the bud then go brown, wait a bit longer and then harvest. But I always check trichomes. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk2 points

I'd leave the leaves until they really need to be removed. How long has it been in flower for? Bud doesn't look very big, remember it shrinks in size a lot once dry. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk2 points

If you have no magnifier... My rule is to wait until All the pistols have turned brown...and before the leaves turn brown as well... That will get you a good smoke... My experience tells me that I only harvest after all the pistols are brown....maybe one or 2 new pistols, but that's the time... I actually only start checking trichomes when my pistols are almost all brown and still end up leaving the lady a bit longer2 points

In my experience it's pritty hard to tell when the ladies are read to the naked as a new grower. I first started with a magnifying glass and zommed in alil with my camera. And depending on what type of high quality you require depending on when u harvest. The Trichomes appear clear, then milky, then a kind of yellow tips. Clear means she's still got some time left. From word of mouth most growers wait until 80%of Trichomes are. Milky. Iv found my best harvest was when almost all the Trichomes are milky. Yellow tips make a sleepy smoke. Knock a MF out [emoji28] But as a grower who just loves the physics of this plant I recommend that u try all 3 and even leave one plant to over ripen if u can. So you know first had the differences I never take anyone's word at first. Id take the information given and put it in the lad see the results and then decide what to do or what not to do. I always check the trichomes and harvest based on the trichomes alone. I tried florakleen before and simulated something similar to ripen, didn't notice a difference. I do not flush anymore, waste of time. If you want to try them go for it. The trichomes on the sugar leaves do mature quicker than the trichomes on the bud itself. Those plants look as if they may require a bit longer to mature. Based on my experience, which is limited with autos, they still require the same amount of time as a photoperiod to flower and mature. They just go into flower by themselves. I'd give it a week or 2 then check with microscope, I too use a microscope and cut small pieces of the bud off and check the trichomes that way. So for many years I've been growing in soil and using mixes and matches of nutrients experimenting with good results. Decided a year ago to give biobizz a go and been doing well with the range. Last week though, the sobering reality that Biobizz, the bloom specifically is sold out and fast selling out across the country. What a bummer... There are issues at DAFF and the re-registration is causing an import delay I guess. This puts me back where I'm going to be using a blend of products again once I run out of Biobizz. With so many that are going to be facing the same issues I thought I'd share the blend here so you can also mix your own should you want to. But first... All the disclaimers This is not an all organic fertilizer blend. The bulk of the phosphates and potassium are derived from MKP. (I know all the strictly vegan okes are screaming now... I don't have time to ferment bones and fruits etc... P is P, and K is K to me, and using MKP in very low doses works in organics.) This is a blend of already registered and readily available products. It's going to set you back about R400, and will last a long time. There is nothing special about this blend. I have literally taken each of the suppliers recommended dosages for 1000l, and combined them with 830ml distilled water. So this 1l treats 1000l water, or 1ml/1l. What you need: 20ml Amino mix 40ml Elixer humates 40ml Elixer fulvates 40ml Sea Rock 30g MKP 830ml Distilled water All of the above blends to a dark liquid, with no precipitation reactions, and provides roughly (based on supplier supplied data) 0.3g/kg N 10.7g/kg P 10g/kg K Plus the aminos, humates, fulvates, hormones and other micros. I have used this blend in conjunction with any fish hydrolysate and mollasses with great results. Edit: After recently getting feedback from a grower who measures his input EC to his organics, found his EC reading was lower than usual so he bumped up the EC using only the bloom blend. That quite simply locked his plants up. This bloom blend does not work on its own. You have to use a fish hydrolysate and mollases. This blend being partly salts, is meant to be used as follows: 1ml fish hydrolysate, 1ml molasses, and 1ml of this bloom blend per 1l of water, with every watering. It's a matter of constant micro fertigation to sustain a healthy plant.... Being over eager and over feeding does not mean a yield increase.1 point

Hey guys and girls, I’m on my second grow and it’s gone a lot smoother than the first one for sure. I’m hoping my harvest timing is right this time, I suspect the first time I harvested early. So I’ve decided to use the “days” quoted by the seed banks (in this case Dinafem) who give 75 days and 80 days respectively for the two different Auto’s. Is this number of days from seed, from germination or from first pistols? How accurate are these quoted days (what is the range of early vs later, or are they mostly on time, or late? (I realise many factors come into it to influence the harvest date) I have been taking minute snips off the sugar leaves close to the top of the bud to check trichomes with a microscope, but evidently the check is meant to be on the bud itself (calyxes?) is that correct? I tried this and found that the trichomes on the bud were less mature than the ones on the sugar leaves, is that observation correct? I am determined to try timing the harvest properly, with Final Part, Flora Kleen, pH neutral water and 3 days of darkness. I started the Final Part (GHE Ripen) at 2 weeks before the quoted number of days by the seed bank, assuming the count was from germination, In other words 75 days minus 14, day 61. If this period comes to an end and the correct clear /milky/amber ratio is still not there, do I continue with Final Part or simply Flora Kleen then water? They talk of using pH neutral water for final flush, I assume this means pH7? I am growing in Autopots, F1 soil (coco) and have used GHE tri part nutes. This tent has Blue Amnesia XXL Autoflowers. I’m going to post a pic of a plant which I thought was ready, but trichomes are mostly clear to slightly milky on the bud, and it looks like new bud is still growing, looking at the light green bud and white pistols. Some of the branches need support because they are lolling over from the weight I assume. According to the 75 day harvest, these are in day 65, so theoretically they have 10 days left... This is my first effort at LST, and I have done some defol. These are like Bonzai plants, super small. Never got to the bottom of it but I assume maybe they should have stretched more in the beginning? So probably too much light too soon. Can anyone comment on that? I also made the mistake of leaving a 5cm space between the coco and the top of the pot... when watered and settled it dropped even lower, so the bottom fan leaves just just made it out of the pot. Anyway there are 5 ladies here, four Moby Dick (Dinafem) and one Blue Amnesia XXL in the smaller green pot. I had to put the AH into this tent’s Autopot res because it was such a late developer compared to the other three. It was quite a lot of work getting them into an more or less LST canopy, once they were into flower a week or two I backed off and just let them do their own thing. The main cola still dominates as the biggest bud on each plant. A short while ago I did another defol to open up the airflow and get light lower in the grow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

I've still got a week or two I think as she's been in flower 9 weeks now. Glamberry from @Bay Seeds. Gonna have to invest in a looking gadget of sorts. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

If you have no magnifiers.. get some 40x - 60x. If you have a photo camera and a macro lens, can use that too and zoom in on the computer. I prefer this method these days.. can also check plants in the back row ^^ I let my flowers ripen as long as I possibly can ... (endure) The sugar leaves don't count, they get amber in any case, before I harvest.. and as you dress your buds by removing every single leaf bits on it with scissors or brush.. those go into the leftovers to hash anyhow. So you check your calyxes, as those you keep to smoke When your sugar leaves are 100% amber, you usually also have color starting on the calyxes. Best tasty and most couchy weed you get when you have 50/50 milky/amber on your flowers.. also takes the longest.. patience is a bitch but with all you grow, the longer you let it ripen, the more flavors go inside.1 point

Perhaps@Chris Jay would know. I know he likes his local land races. I think majority of us do not grow land races. They often need quite a bit of work in terms of breeding and how pure as they really? Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

It's a pleasure joining you guys! I am fairly new to the scene... My growing adventures started just before legalization, and I have not looked back since. Have recently gained a profound interest in breeding and genetics preservation. Currently growing: Autoflowers: Gelat OG (Seedsman) and Fastberry (Fastbuds) Feminized: Laughing Buddha (Barney's Farm) and Charlotte's Angel (Dutch Passion) Looking forward to learn and grow! ; )1 point
