I agree 100% with Totemic. Flush, darkness and products such as ripen I feel are a waste of time and money. You're welcome to try it yourself and make that decision yourself though, but many others have already been there and done that. Learnt thr hard way after much trial and error. In its natural habitat it will experience a "flush". The biological activity in summer vs late autumn/winter. There is more biological activity in the hotter months which means more available nutrients. Flushing though is something you do when you have pH issues or salt buildup. The flush is to clear the soil. Flushing as a before harvest thing does nothing to improve the bud imo. 2 or more days of darkness also doesn't make any huge impact. At best this treatment may or may not push the last of the trichomes milky, but it isn't a vastly noticible change. I don't flush. I don't do the darkness thing, and I continue to feed right up to harvest, but you'll have a 100 others tell you to flush etc. There are about as many ways to grow as there are growers. Best way is to find what works for you. You are going to be doing a test to compare so you already heading in the right direction.

Hi to all my family, I'm new / back, and want to firstly apologize for suddenly going dark and after gaining such momentum and friends and family, went silent. It's not an excuse, but I lost my job before C19 and then that hit, and unfortunately I was weak and not finding work, put me into a mild depression, and it's been hard but I have slowly picked myself out of the hole and starting to pick up the tools and pieces again. This place was one of the only places that made me feel at home and I have really missed you all, those I made close friends with and the conversations and adventures with the new members who came after me that I've missed out on, has been the hardest part of this all for me. Time has come for me to put my full attention behind cannabis and this community, and that is what this time has taught me, it's my passion and dream to grow, meet like minded people, get educated and help educate, all for the love of Cannabis. 1st pic. You can see pistils and male pollen sac's which would identify the plant as a hermaphrodite. 2nd pic is too blurry. Pls post more pics, but clearer. If it is a hermie, it would be best to chop it.

That is most certainly always the case. And you really don’t want to under do it. Because that’s possible as well. Theres new studies done regarding the bud formation phase and fruit fill stage. That’s making headway’s in Agri at the moment. These are 2 different phases in the reproductive stage that make all the difference in yeild, from a commercial stand point. The way nutritional needs and hormone influences switch all during the flowering stage. Imperative information I would imagine. I think the plants will tell you, I havnt looked at a nutrient dosages on bottles, but I hear it works best to start at half dose and work your up up to full? They put just the right amount of micro nutrient chelates. These vital nutrients are responsible for the higher that usual uptake of macros, mn and fe primarily, they will make sure your plant is photosynthesizing till the very end. These Micro nutrients are very rarely available in your traditional living soil.

But then what is classified as just enough? Each plant will consumes nutes differently and use different ratios of nutes, some may use more N and Ca than others. Give too little, plant won't flourish as well as it possibly could have. Typically when feeding nutes continuously , they will build up with time. We generally feed plants far more than they need, it's easier to monitor the amount of nutes plants use when doing hydro - nutes are suspended in the water. I flush in general and.. if I have the space, put them dark for 3 days At the end you put the efforts in you are willed to do and endure. Flushing in Hydro is a must... at least that is my stand of knowledge. And as there is no build up in the medium, is mainly done to force the plants to use their storage.. result should be a less 'harsh' smoke. I agree that soil is tricky.. but mediums carrying no nutrition itself.. I would flush to enhance taste. I know every single pro grower in Europe, i know and have contact with, flushes his plants. But again, your plants.. do what you think is right and correct.

It’s some of John Kempf’s regenerative agricultural works. They have a academy called advancing eco agriculture... that quite informative. They’ve done remarkable things on farms across America. Its not all die hard organic, they understand the farm, soil analysis and if necessary supplement a foliar to bring nutritional balance up to scratch while remediating the soil which can take some time, but not terribly. the most interesting of all is that he suggest that plants generally only photosynthesize at 15-20% of their potential, this is field test, no way applies to our indoor plants. But surely we still only scratching the surface. He pulls at strings that suggest plants that are able to photosynthesize 60% or more produce such an amount of secondary metabolites that the plants acquires complete immunity - this is another discussion amongst doctors and professors high up in the food chain, proving pest/disease resistant can be 100% overcome by holistic nutritional management. Most interesting. Brix overload!

What a beautiful plant in a beautiful place. Is this the plant that is now suffering phytotoxicity? That is such a shame.

So to conclude - all depends on how much you feed, if you feed just enough, there would obviously be no reason.

Agree with that sentiment, from what I understand the other nutrients get stuck in the vacuoles and chlorophylls get replace with anthocyianins (red,purple, pinkish colours). The excess doesn’t usually leave the plant, organic or synthetic. Pump enough sulfur in the plant and it will smell, Epsom salts can work given there’s not a huge surplus of magnesium. Depending on the type of growing style, I would say majority of grower need to flush, but what is flushing? Pouring liters and liters of water through your mediums? Or just watering instead of feeding, I think the benefits of just plain watering in mediums like soil, or slightly organic input which would happen to be using microbes would be the best. Reason I say is because you tryin to get majority of those nutrient used up. Redox potential is much better for reduction of built up minerals with regular water than super drenching. If is all synthetic hydro, coco and salts, super drenching would work best

Haha, the life long debate as to whether you should flush cannabis or not. Recently study showed that flushing makes little to no difference, if anything thr data points towards a tastier and smoother smoke from bud which has not had a flush. But differences were small. I have not noticed any difference in terms of smoothness or taste between a flush or no flush. I have noticed a far bigger difference depending on how well the plants were trimmed and how well they were cured. Bud which dried too quickly, even after being out into a jar with boveda to add humidity and left for weeks remained a harsh smoke. Leafy bud is often a harsher smoke too. I'm all for a debate on a Sunday? I'm on the fence personally... I have had some ultra tasty outdoor that was smoother than a baby's backside, and there is no flushing outdoor, nor a 3 day darkness before harvest. From what I have understand, the plant has macro and micro nutrients uptake from the roots, and most of those nutrients are immobile, so a flush won't help remove any of the immobile nutes, you gonna have to manage that and not over feed on your own tho during flower. chlorophyll, being mostly nitrogen, which is a mobile nutrient is often blamed for the harshness of a smoke... And again you should be feeding less nitrogen toward harvest anyways so that you don't get a nitrogen tox which leads to much smaller buds in general. And then there's the cure... Flush or no flush... If you have a poor dry or cure method... It really won't make a difference to the end product. And as for higher terpines and floral smells, maintaining lower Temps throughout the grow leads to much stronger and complex terpine flavours. So does it make a difference... And if so what are the other potential benifits

Thank you for the support, and I have a grow on the go now, Autos as @Promalready convinced me previously to try them, and oh wow. I have also started my seeds I won in the competition from GSR, the Juggling Canon Balls and Rooi Baard, along with the 3 Humboldt Blue Dream Auto, about a month ago, and its helped build by confidence again. These will be a so so run, but maybe will turn out to be something as they seem to be really taking off now, and put it down to being more positive and happy myself. The next grow, oh yes, that will have the full from start to finish log, and you'll all get to enjoy that along with me. This is my first effort at LST, and I have done some defol. These are like Bonzai plants, super small. Never got to the bottom of it but I assume maybe they should have stretched more in the beginning? So probably too much light too soon. Can anyone comment on that? I also made the mistake of leaving a 5cm space between the coco and the top of the pot... when watered and settled it dropped even lower, so the bottom fan leaves just just made it out of the pot. Anyway there are 5 ladies here, four Moby Dick (Dinafem) and one Blue Amnesia XXL in the smaller green pot. I had to put the AH into this tent’s Autopot res because it was such a late developer compared to the other three. It was quite a lot of work getting them into an more or less LST canopy, once they were into flower a week or two I backed off and just let them do their own thing. The main cola still dominates as the biggest bud on each plant. A short while ago I did another defol to open up the airflow and get light lower in the grow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So flower is going well, some plants already seem to be performing really well, others not so much. Some are merely average at this point, hopefully they improve but not convinced. LSP, so far appears to be a very poor performer. Possibly a very long flower strain considering it went into flower same time as the others but still loads of pistils and not a lot of bud, not much frost either. Sugarcane, looking superb as expected. Frosty AF! Time will tell how quick she ripens and how well she yields. Frosted Apricots, not bad but does not look anything too special to be honest. Looks more or less like the average quality bud. Not in the most prime position in terms of lighting though but doing well. I did not take pics of the others, some are a bit difficult to get to. Jelly breath looks similar to the Frosted Apircots, Slurricane seems to be a bit frostier but its really in there and I cannot quite get to it at the moment. lol All the above strains are around 37 days / just over 5 weeks into flower.

Probably safer and cheaper driving it here. I am in Ec, been driving legally on the roads since the 3rd of January and not one roadblock, plus its your right, you can even legally drive a plant here( only for the brave with balls though ) . Just had a huge honour thrown at me. I will be judging you growers in July/August when this event place takes place. Just met the brothers and had a lovely time with them at their awesome venue. They have one of the most organised gardens I have ever seen, welcoming, knowledgeable with some top strains.

She is measuring 85cm in height, beginning to get a very slight smell as well...according to the sellers site there should still be another 7 to 9 weeks??? (From pistils to flower).

Hi guys, Just wanted to give a quick update. This is the only survivor. Super lemon haze. Would you guys recommend doing LST? (This plant is been grown on my balcony) PS I'm am using biobizz for nutes Will be watered and fed tomorrow. Have some chilli 🌶 plants growing in the back as well as some mint, lovely with tea.

Hi guys, Just a quick update. So the Girl scout cookies seems to be catching up now,while the Super Lemon Haze seems to be doing very well. On a sad note one of the Girl scout cookies didn't make it. she just wouldn't grow and finally dried out and died. (Image one the SLH and image two is of the GSC) On that note, I decided to get another batch of seeds and on the recommendation of @Bakstein420 I went with sacred seeds. Thank you @Bakstein420! @Sacred Seeds, The service I got from Merlin and the team at sacred seeds was top class. I am very happy with the service and will reuse them again in the future. (PS: Thanks for all the freebies) I ordered some Durban poison as I really wanted a Sativa plant, this is a normal photo strain but I also ordered some autos as well. I will maybe start a grow diary for those seeds. Super excited by the DP, can't wait! Happy weekend everyone!

in my opinion... i would give each of those pots about a litre of water each, no nutes... and literally forget about them for a week the poor things arent even a few days old and you are over stressing haha. the baby has just been born, you dont need to worry about college for a while my bru! take it easy... the sun will do its job the sun also provides about the same amount of energy to your plant in a few min, as those lights will in the whole night. they are Autos so you dont need to worry about a light cycle. and if your tems are not dipping below 15 degrees, you can leave them outside the whole time, they will grow big and strong! bottom line, what i am trying to say is... right now, you are the danger to your babies. they are looking good man dont be so worried! Hi guys Just a quick update, as I said I put the seeds into water on Saturday 3pm, by Monday, one of the seeds popped, the super lemon haze, pic below, the rest had not yet popped. This evening I decided to give them a quick look, 3 of the 6 had now popped, 2 of the girl scout cookies, (last pics below) and to my surprise the super lemon haze has shed its husked. I totally freaked out and spoke to @Stinger96 who advised to plant it leaving the leaves above the soil which is what I did. Seems like the super lemon haze is in a hurry, lol! Do you guys suggest I plant the ones that have popped and leave the rest in the paper towels until they pop? I used the paper towel method of germinating...soaked seeds for +/- 24 hours, than placed in a wet paper towel, put in a zip lock bag, placed between a towel and put on my dstv box for heat...

Aweh 420SA. Been scoping this thread and thought I'd chime in with my 2c. Pardon the disjointedness and my French pls. I believe in the bigger scheme of life there is a price to pay, bigger for some and smaller for others. Economically some can weather this better than others. There are some really sad things happening all over. General. The thing that irks me is that there are some really ''special'' people who have no inkling of the concept of ''unity'' or ''community''. They languidly browse around in stores or stand in groups at the malls talking shit - justpossibly spreading this life threatening pathogen. The lockdown isn't lekker but its there to protect everyone, stay the fuck at home, you could infect others because you can't control yourself or your boredom. Hello....!!! Where is natural selection or karma, can I nominate those mofos pls. Work related. We are on the other side of the coin...the ugly side.... Our industry never stopped working, (blessing in disguise maybe) but the usual high stress environment has evolved into something else, it has become a monster of a thing. Stress, worry, fear, but we do the best we can under very trying circumstances. I can see it in my colleagues' faces after shift, the nervous laughs, the unfunny jokes, its awfull. Shit man, we have ''control measures'' coming out our ears, the shitty smell of IPA hanging in the air- too scared to light a smoke for fear of an explosion..hahaha.[emoji3]. Never want to see or smell sanitizer ever again in my life. Then there's this shit....Last week in an ops meet we discuss some concerning issues with the client, we were frankly told ''do you job, you are just service providers''.....cold hearted pos, never wanted to fuck someone up so bad. On the personal side. My children stay with my ex, being involved in a high risk industry it was decided that they shouldn't visit weekends or the holiday, to mitigate any infection risk. Whattsapp and phonecalls only go so far. Last week I sat outside the gate at their house and chatted to my sons through the bars like a convict, because I would not be able to forgive myself if I possibly infected them. I understand that sacrifices have to be made, we all have to make them, but it's Fuckedup and I don't have to like it. We all have our part to play with this common threat.
