Hi folks. So after some tedious and time consuming trimming all the buds are jarred and curing away nicely with some 62% boveda packs. To be honest I love growing but trimming ain't one of my favourites yet it is the second last step after all that effort to grow the plants out. So I tried to trim as nicely as possible given the volume that needed to be trimmed. So the flower and drying times worked out as follows: All the clones (except Wedding Gelato) went for a 65 day flower with between 7 to 12 days drying time. Less plant matter quicker dry time.. The mother plants and Wedding Gelato clones went for a 69 day flower (except Crescendo RBXV2 - 71 day flower). The dry time on the mothers averaged between 10 to 13 days. Here are some of the bud pics post trim. I will do a smoke report in a week or so. But from the tasters I've had there seems to be some interesting aromas and flavours that shine through. Aweh The time is upon us. The flowers are doing lekker. 1-2.Purple Stilton fading nicely. Colours are good, 2 days to the chop. 3-4. Fruitpunch f4, she's bulked up well fade kicking in, looks like autum in the forest. 5. Another Fruitpunch, the more sativa'ish pheno, still has a ways to go. 6. One of the Bubblegum twins. Strain is slow to flower and develop, but they were worth the wait last round. 7. Purple Pineapple cut that is slowly getting good.5 points

Hey, so been asked to assist a manufacturer to source some hemp hurd and thought of sharing this fairly easy product/resource to make. The hurd is the core of the cannabis plant, if you remove outer bark and fibre, you get to the hurd. Although a pain in the ass to remove all the bark, the old school method is done by retting the cannabis stems in water, after that it is easy just to pull it off. The manufacturer wants to use the hurd to make a sample of hemp bison boards. Since its harvest season, you might be wondering what to do with all your stems, if you have grown 1 Hectare of cannabis, you should be able to build a house with your stems and a bit of lime!! This is a nice article about the uses of hemp hurd by Hemporium.3 points

So I had a bit of a fuck up, due to the height of the plants and the weight of the colas... some plants fell down at the back of the tent and then some move fell over onto the other plants which pushed more plants over... a lot of plants had colas falling over so I had to get in there and try hang the colas up to keep them up until harvest which is not that long from now for some of the strains as some are very quick strains I believe. If I could get to the back of the tent, I could post pics of some other strains but you guys will have to wait a while. French Cookies, not sure I will grow this again: Frosted Apricots (I really really like this strain so far, hopefully the yield is good and smoke is good too): Exodus Cheese - big buds but lacking frost... This strain needs no introduction, the frost tells you what it is... Sugar cane: Blunicorn:3 points

We launched out new look and feel and totally re-did our site. We had some funnies with duplicate orders and silly things so thought it would be best to migrate the products, clients and orders on to a fresh install. We have tried to put local seeds upfront and will be loading stock for the rest of the day. We have also dropped all the marketing and analytics tools so we are just focusing on word of mouth and a happy client base. No one likes to be tracked However will still use email marketing. Would really love some feedback, the good and the bad - In return will be giving away some local seeds to 3 randomly selected folk that give feedback. Will also be running a local seeds special next week.2 points

Also saw this post from @Futurama Hydroponicswith some products not mentioned above: Treatments such as the EcoBuz Disease Pro Preventative Bio-Fungicide are also a safe and natural treatment for fungal disease and are safe to use during flowering. We have also just got in the Buddi range of pest control sprays!2 points

So for many years I've been growing in soil and using mixes and matches of nutrients experimenting with good results. Decided a year ago to give biobizz a go and been doing well with the range. Last week though, the sobering reality that Biobizz, the bloom specifically is sold out and fast selling out across the country. What a bummer... There are issues at DAFF and the re-registration is causing an import delay I guess. This puts me back where I'm going to be using a blend of products again once I run out of Biobizz. With so many that are going to be facing the same issues I thought I'd share the blend here so you can also mix your own should you want to. But first... All the disclaimers This is not an all organic fertilizer blend. The bulk of the phosphates and potassium are derived from MKP. (I know all the strictly vegan okes are screaming now... I don't have time to ferment bones and fruits etc... P is P, and K is K to me, and using MKP in very low doses works in organics.) This is a blend of already registered and readily available products. It's going to set you back about R400, and will last a long time. There is nothing special about this blend. I have literally taken each of the suppliers recommended dosages for 1000l, and combined them with 830ml distilled water. So this 1l treats 1000l water, or 1ml/1l. What you need: 20ml Amino mix 40ml Elixer humates 40ml Elixer fulvates 40ml Sea Rock 30g MKP 830ml Distilled water All of the above blends to a dark liquid, with no precipitation reactions, and provides roughly (based on supplier supplied data) 0.3g/kg N 10.7g/kg P 10g/kg K Plus the aminos, humates, fulvates, hormones and other micros. I have used this blend in conjunction with any fish hydrolysate and mollasses with great results. Edit: After recently getting feedback from a grower who measures his input EC to his organics, found his EC reading was lower than usual so he bumped up the EC using only the bloom blend. That quite simply locked his plants up. This bloom blend does not work on its own. You have to use a fish hydrolysate and mollases. This blend being partly salts, is meant to be used as follows: 1ml fish hydrolysate, 1ml molasses, and 1ml of this bloom blend per 1l of water, with every watering. It's a matter of constant micro fertigation to sustain a healthy plant.... Being over eager and over feeding does not mean a yield increase.1 point

This is a Pineapple Express that was accidently pollinated by a Purple Haze male in an indoor setup. It was pure chance that she ended up with me. Planning to run the f1's this winter.1 point

We pulled 3 males today, i know the feeling. The chickens loved it. Its always the nice one.1 point

I would buy any seeds from this mother if she got pollinated. Thats a beauty.1 point

Hey, It's actually a product I'm working on bringing to market under my own brand. 60cmx54cm - 240W - Samsung LM301B SK bin 3500K + 5000K + Osram Oslon 120 660nm - 92% efficiency driver etc. So many beaurocratic hoops to jump through, it's a nightmare. This is the first sample of the finalised custom spectrum. Feel free to DM for info. Edit: If anyone in CT has an Apogee Quantum sensor and is interested in doing a usable PPFD map for the light? I only have integrating sphere data atm.1 point

Allrighty then... the deed was done.. The first girl is pollinated and I will dust her every day for a few days... not sure how the process works but I am sure it'll work..1 point

As lockdown hit, I saw that prices may be going to go up and stock will be short soon, so I bought a 10L of each product, so hopefully things are sorted by the end of my stock. Would help guys out if local to me, but most of the guys are in jhb or CT.1 point

Thank you and bless you @Marijuana Seeds SA for posting my grow on Instagram If youd like, you are welcome to request these pictures in full detail and quality, and I'll make sure to forward them on email or attach a dropbox link Again, you guys are amazing and hope you all have a lovely day ahead.1 point

agreed, i have seen these first hand... they really are lovely - and the filter system you have, makes sure they stay clean. love it1 point

it is very easy to over fertilize your ladies as is with the already tested nutrient solutions on the market. so as mentioned above, it would be better if you knew the ratios of the nutrients in the mix that you make so that you can adjust and improve on the stuff... but not knowing each product and mixing them together could produce much worse results than you were expecting. but if you do have a good understanding, you are likely going to mix something that will work well1 point

Yip that's how I got my Nirvana seeds as well from Marijuana SA. I was admittedly kinda worried initially because it's usually a red flag if a seed bank removes seeds from original packaging and then repackages. The worry is that the original seeds are either swapped out for some random jutt or the off chance that a packer accidentally repacks the wrong seed and sends you something else. However after having grown the seeds, they were obviously the strains I purchased so I was chilled. My assumption is that this is Marijuana SA's solution to the problem of selling packs of 1, 3, 5 etc and stock management. What happens when you have two packs of 3 seeds but you have 3 customers that would take 2 seeds each, what do you do? There are plenty of seed banks sitting with single seed packs all over the place. For me I could work with a single seed especially if it's a strain I've really been looking for, but how many of me are there? Most often that seed is probably just going to sit there for a long time. For a newbie it shouldn't really matter getting original packaging, it's nice, but for me it really gives me confidence that what I've got is genuine and that I am not going to be wasting my time. TLDR; You can trust Marijuana SA that the seeds you are ordering are the real deal regardless of the packaging. Edit: Ironically was smoking some Aurora Indica while typing this, grown from a seed purchased from Marijuana SA so there you have it, full circle1 point

Here is a little smoke report on the strains I had harvested in this grow. I will go through them in order of personal preference; Criminal + Most certainly the best all-rounder. Dense buds, not too much outer trichomes but the potency was great. Day or night, it could be smoked and enjoyed, but not too much as it would render any tasks for the day as non-existent. Smoke was peppery and the taste was spicy. Not a lot of terpenes in particular, quite a sneaky bud actually. Aurora Indica The weakest of the strains, but this is not to say that it is not potent very fruity aroma and very smooth smoke. This strain is a delight to smoke, light smoke and easy to crush in the grinder. This strain is also the most popular amongst the friend group. Zkittlez x Purple Punch This strain is bag appeal! Most frosty and most fruity of all the strains. The smoke is a tad harsh but after a cure it really balanced out, so make sure to focus on the dry/cure for this one. Grand Daddy Purple Super gassy bud, when the jar opens you know what time it is. Diesel mixed with raspberries are what to be smelt after grinding some of this bud. Average smoke and high potency, this bud is smoked on occasion and has been made into medicinal tincture. Royal Gorilla Airy buds, very odd smell to it too. Used all of this bud for practicing making tinctures/oils. Jock Horror This strain turned out to hermie so most of the buds had seeds in them a turn of events indeed for this one as the buds were looking pretty super. I had zero idea that they were growing seeds. Have mostly just given away this bud for people to do their own experiments on for butters and tinctures.1 point

Haven't used a pen or any Ph up or down for a very loooong time and not planning on making my life more complicated. I like things easy and simple Have a stock of 12 liter each.. Grow and Bloom.. I hope they re-register before I run out1 point
-
I do not even own a pH pen anymore, and I haven't checked my pH ever using organics. A properly buffered medium works in synergy with the microbes to regulate pH1 point
-
Perhaps this is a good opportunity for some home growers to scrap the organics and move over to the dark side with some fully synthetic nutes1 point

Bloom and Grow got declared as not biological by the SA authorities.. even the rest of the world says.. it is bio fertilizer. I think is one substance inside the mix, that caused the question. One of those issues where you just shake your head.. ^^ I stocked up.. and Bloom you still find at Aeres Starke (hope I wrote it correct.. the most expensive nursery you can go, should indicate the same hehehe).. is just very expensive Bloom.1 point
