It does feel to me that they are still asleep at the wheel. This document treats our pre existing cannabis economy that's been developing faster than a wildfire asif it simply doesn't exist yet. They also seem to be quite clueless as to where our seeds are coming from...apparently the 1000 plus breeders across the globe don't know what they are doing... I can see the next chapter in the SA cannabis industry remaining a largely underground one8 points

Hi folks. So 6 months later, from seed to smoke, I have been able to enjoy all the strains and the tastes and smells they offer. So this is the last entry to close of the diary. Purple Queen: Kush hybrid so the smoke leaned towards a lemon/pine mixture and surprisingly actually worked very well as a day time smoke. Chocolate Haze: Very nice fruit flavours and smells with limited chocolate undertones. Very nice head high leaving you nice and energetic. A mate of mine noted her smell as beef stock Crescendo RBXV2: A very unique spicy smelling plant with a linger of mango on the smell. Taste was pronounced with a very nice orange marmalade on the exhale Wedding Gelato: This one hits you to the fences.. buds looked amazing and the smoke reciprocated with nice pepper and spearmint profiles. Old School: It was obvious that this was an Exo Cheese cross with both the smell and taste of the exo shining through. Glookies: This is the plant with the most pronounced smell and flavour profile. An exceptionally heavy citrus smell and taste leaning towards grapefruit and lime. During flower her smell was so pronounced it bordered on rancid. Also very energetic high. Uppercut: This was the most beautiful plant in the collection and most probably my favourite smoke. Her exhale smoke smells as loud as a Holland coffee shop next to a chemical factory she has a super soft on the palate taste leaning towards grape sherbet fuel mixture. Once she is smoked in a room you do not want to leave the room as the smell is so entrancing... Next grow is already up and running so keep an eye out for my next grow diary which will aptly be named Palomino and Friends. Giving some Totemic fire a run.. here is a sneak peak.. Happy growing folks and thanx for reading my grow diary.. hope it was as fun to read as it was to grow.. Peace6 points

I agree, is a easy read to understand... they have no clue how to actually tackle the topic. 2018 we got told in October 2020 the law for personal use must be ratified. In the timeframe now they have 2022/23 as date... so we can experience police confiscating seeds with customs for the next 2 years. You get a bit the idea, who ever wrote that document, is very hard thinking how to delay all, as he/she isnt sure how to pull their own profit... yet. Just let me open a coffee shop i guess you guys saw while reading, Amsterdam is in the list of countries.. who ever wrote the document, you find coffee shops also in de haag and other dutch cities. Netherlands... not Amsterdam, dude3 points

Hmmm, sounds like someone wants a state-organised seed supplier The rest of the document is pretty spot on until I got to this part about the seeds. They are thoughtful enough to mention all the socio-economic implications and the high barrier to entry for small scale farmers but couldn't do a quick Google search to check all the many seed e-stores we have currently available? Fishy. I am happy and sad if this document is legit and being considered by members of parliament; because it is pretty solid but probably also being ignored by the ones that in the end need to make the decisions on the actual regulations Hear that @Cannabist@Marijuana Seeds SA, Government thinks you're informal markets/networks. Same like for a bottle store... They just havent done anything on the private consumers act for 2.5 years... so not expecting a lot to move in 2021. Declare, like the WHO did in January, Cannabis is not a dangerous drug anymore. Clean out the laws with Cannabis as hard drug and go with the European traffic rules in regard to THC. Why complicated? Work needs to get done and you get somewhere. Sitting and waiting... wont change anything. Right now... they sit and wait since 2018. But... at least full legelization seems very plausible.2 points

So I am still alive. Flowering some Zurple Punch from Inhouse Genetics and All Gas OG from Humboldt seed Co. Not to be confused with HSO. Both Purple, not my favorite. But it just turned out this way for this run. Next run Wedding Cake actual Seedjunky genetics and zweet Inzanity from ethos. They are about 2 weeks into flower and the zweet is the stand out structure wise. I like solid plants like the All Gas and the zweet. I will post pics after I sort the spider mites.2 points

Sorry about the seeds brother, that other TK looked something hectic and lekker, you can use the seeds maybe, try again. I'm growing a RooiBaard now, so we can compare soon, pictures wise. Otherwise, great grow and awesome log.1 point

Try through a web browser. Tapatalk struggles with files sometimes on this site. I have a feeling the government is going to make the sale of seeds by local breeders/seed banks only possible via registration and adherence to whatever made-up standards they come up with. Kinda like what they do with organic fertilisers, they will now just do with seeds. This.1 point

for the veg tent i do those stunts The flower tent space is for even canape and all lights more or less same heights, my ladies are all shaved indoors, no reason to have light below the main canape. Friend works with 600 on a 1.2x1.2, bar lamps... very great results. He gets a little more per plant.. but never reaches 2g per watt, where i reached 2.34g per watt with 420 watts. i might get me a 600w bar lamp, just to have a bit more punch for the more light hungry strains. When my ts3's give up, i will replace them with bar lamps. Just better concept for a even canape.1 point

Implementation of Pillar 1 - Effective regulatory system - signing off of the Private Purposes Bill into law. The Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural development invited a few stakeholders to a virtual meeting at 10am yesterday, they probably outlined the the aspects of the masterplan, seems nothing has changed, and plant counting is a go. Pillar 4 - Producer Support Systems - bla bla bla about education and support for small scale/informal farmers (wonder how they going to support them while putting them in cuffs.) Suit up or be excluded.1 point

Please edit if this is not allowed! The annual Bathurst Agricultural Show has been postponed two years straight. I met with the Agricultural society last week as they still want to run "mini shows", such as the horse show that ran last weekend. They are limited to 250 attendees at any given time and running a mini "informational" show at the end of May and would still like to include cannabis as category. The foot traffic is limited, there wont be many stall holders allowed, so I suggested I sell wall space e.g cannabis companies can rent wall space, place their brand on the wall. I have booked 10 of space already. I think its a huge opportunity for cannabis community to show what we got, so if anyone is interested in purchasing wall space ( the money goes to the societies non-profit ) please let me know. I am meeting with our local cannabis social club in a couple weeks to discuss entering live plants too, hopefully get atleast 10 plants on show, judged and prizes. If you have any ideas, cannabis companies that could be interested, please drop a line. The coverage is huge and hopefully with a bit of luck it will be digital. Cashflow is a little tight, and the first quote for digitizing was 300K!!! Its a big opportunity to get your brand into the farming community.1 point

This is actually an interesting post made by Reeferman on FB about 30 minutes ago, from the perspective of a breeder. Same happened to me here, guys shredding nguni during the massive postal strike several years ago, resent orders twice sometimes, one guy recommending not to buy from nguni and had never bought from nguni himself!!!!! I actually still have a returned seed order, in the envelope, looking forward to opening it one day.1 point

Thats where integrity street cred and past experiences come into play. I personally dont care what packaging my seeds come in. I have received seeds from around the world with alot of difficulty, but I trust the breeders I received from e.g Franco sent me Pure Kush seeds in banky, albeit they were branded bankys. 3 international breeders have used my pictures for their sale sites, no permission asked, absolute honour to me that they chose my pictures and shared them. About 2 months ago I was roadtrippin, went into a store, browsing around, saw a book, picked it up, spent some time flippin through pictures, bang one of my pictures featured. I never received a dime for the work, or even a free book as promised, but it was a good feeling seeing your hard work acknowledged in some way. To have a book publisher or breeder use my pictures, is an absolute honour, go for it. Copy left. Have you guys ever heard the coffee mug story, blah blah, its not the mug but he coffee itself, its in the beans brothers, not the packaging.1 point

Sorry to revive this thread, but I think I promised to post a pic of my plant when it's ready. Today was harvest day. This is the plant stripped of the leaves.1 point

Guys, look at Holly. She is on fire. I know I have been an eager beaver to call Rooibaard, but what do you think? She is Transkei origin, which would probably mean minimal cultivation and open pollination.1 point

Update: - Inzane and Wedding Cake are curing, Holly is nearly there and the other two are filling out and maturing. Testers on the Inzane and Wedding Cake are very promising and the highs are great. One upper, one downer... speedball anyone? Holly (Transkei) Double Wild Durban LC-18 x Transkei1 point

Be careful with Pyrol though. Too much and your plant will go from looking great to looking shite in a matter of days. What I would suggest is: Use half the minimum dosage they suggest Spray as soon as you hit lights off Perhaps unnecessary but something I do myself is just before lights off I spray with Pyrol and then just before lights on I'll spray with water to remove the excess oils from the pyrol. Pyrol can leave oil spots on your leaves which in turn generate heat spots. These heats spots then burn/scorch your leaves. I repeat this process until I'm happy that all the mites are gone.1 point

Then I would say give Pyrol a go. You should have good success with it and its still early into flower, probably only lots of pistils at the moment.1 point

I agree 100% with Totemic. Flush, darkness and products such as ripen I feel are a waste of time and money. You're welcome to try it yourself and make that decision yourself though, but many others have already been there and done that. Learnt thr hard way after much trial and error. We provide this advice in hopes that it might save you some time, effort and money. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

In its natural habitat it will experience a "flush". The biological activity in summer vs late autumn/winter. There is more biological activity in the hotter months which means more available nutrients. Flushing though is something you do when you have pH issues or salt buildup. The flush is to clear the soil. Flushing as a before harvest thing does nothing to improve the bud imo. 2 or more days of darkness also doesn't make any huge impact. At best this treatment may or may not push the last of the trichomes milky, but it isn't a vastly noticible change. I don't flush. I don't do the darkness thing, and I continue to feed right up to harvest, but you'll have a 100 others tell you to flush etc. There are about as many ways to grow as there are growers. Best way is to find what works for you. You are going to be doing a test to compare so you already heading in the right direction.1 point

I have disappointing news on the LC-18 x Transkei. She was looking glorious and then suddenly she faded fast and her leaves and pistils dried up. Initially I thought I had a ph problem or that she was over watered. Today I had a close look at the buds and they are full of seed. I'm really sad about that. Someone didn't chop a male. I am going to see if I can make some oil from the flower when she finishes.0 points
