So I enjoyed working with the Slurricane cut last year, and my small sample grow of the chocolate Gelato x Slurricane gave me really good phenos. Made me decide to do another run and hunt out a few male and female phenos to push the F2 generation. Going to be running them in a mix of 1l to 5l pots, FF premium, and Biobizz.7 points

Ahoy fellow growmies. I've decided to start a tent thread... I'll randomly post current grow pics. It's not a journal, I suck at those. This grow started in mid Jan, but because I tried something new, my girls took very long to take off and thrive. DON'T EVER TRY TO START SEEDS IN TEA BAGS! The last pics is where I'm at now.7 points

Hi Guys Please see link if you are looking for insects. This is a good site to start. Stop spraying you plants woth chemicals. You will smoke it one day and you need it to be clean. Also remember if you extract your plants you concentrate those chemicals and they are not good for you. I am only posting this here cause sometimes you feel its to expensive to buy them. Please buy together and share delivery costs. https://livingseeds.co.za/garden-supplies/ipm-intergrated-pest-managment5 points

Greetings everyone. Im excited to join the family, I've been around the grow scene for some time, grew my first plant about 16 years ago, had a YouTube grow series which has been taken down by YouTube a couple of times, also been involved in the international forums, moderatored a few, but I thought it was time to make a move on local scene since it makes more sense especially when discussing local products. I enjoy helping and giving advise as well as receiving it and discussing methods and techniques with others. Im not sure if i can add one of my YouTube videos on the forum so I ll leave a couple of pics of my grows4 points

Flower week 5. They seem happy except for the one on the right, showing burnt tips and black spots. I'm not too worried though, that one was always fussy. The next grow is in a veg cupboard next door, 5 days old, in 2 x 1.5 litre pots. After I harvest in 3-5 weeks, I will transplant them to 15 litre fabric pots and flip to flower.4 points

SO this is my first grow diary on the forum, Ive actually been documenting this grow for my return Youtube series (After Youtube Kindly flagged me) so i will use the still images for this grow diary. At the current stage I'm about a week away from switching my girls to 12/12. The strains are tall plants, Blue Dream, Durban Poison & Pure Power Plant, in limited space, for that reason I've trained them and decided to do a 6 week veg. For this grow I'm testing 2x "1000w" LEDs which was gifted to me by a friends company. For this run I decided to test a theory that's been circulating around the net (especially with a certain YouTube grower) that you can grow in amended coco, i've grown in coco & perlite for years, measuring EC & PH, we know its an insert medium, and understanding how coco works and is used we can understand why adding amendments to it might rise a few eyebrows. We ll find out if it's possible. With that said I will also be growing in organic soil & we will do a side by side. First I washed and buffered a brick of coco with a solution of cal-mag for 16hrs The Amendments Alfafa Meal Aloe Meal Basalt Rock Dust Bio-Char Canna-Kashi Calcitic Lime Diatomaceous Earth Dolomite Lime Fulvic Acid Frass Guano (Sea Bird) Gypsum Humic Acid Kelp Meal Malted Barley Manganese Oxide Montmorillonite Clay Soft Rock Phosphate Zeolite Mycorrhizal Fungi 2weeks old At this point i had to leave town for awhile and had someone do a bad job of looking after the seedlings Abit of yellowing especially in the coco, I would think it was a lack of cal-mag and bad watering Veg Stage After a month I transplanted them and they were able to bounce back At this point I had also given them some compost tea 3 weeks into Veg I ran into a problem with fungus gnats Sprayed them with some neem oil & I setup some sticky traps. The fungus gnats were sorted out Where Are We At Now? We at day 34 of veg, some of the plants have very small growth in soil, cocos are growing well, as for the lights I'm eager to see how they do in flower, worse case i swap them out for my quantum's. Space is also a concern so I've done a bit of training before I switch them. Will Update in a week or 2, I plan to defoliate some plants and send them into flower3 points

Image from last Sunday. One clone still looks like its fallen behind slightly. If it doesn't improve over the coming days, it will be moved to the edge and replaced with a plant of the same height. I'm considering taking out the drip trays so the herd can be packed tighter together and create some space on the sides of the tent. Not sure if this is the way, I will probably seek the sage advise of the magic 8ball. LOL! Fertigation has proved to be troublesome, We are using a 20ltr backpack sprayer in the mean time while components for an automated fertigation system are gathered. I'm away for the whole week so my Special Lady Friend is holding it down. I'm super lucky to have a partner who loves cultivation as much as me. Play together, stay together. Crit, opinion, advise, be it positive or negative is always welcome. Thanks for looking, peas!3 points

Hi 420SA members. There was interest in the work that I've been getting at for the last few weeks, so I agreed to do a diary. Any guidance, advise or opinions welcome. Grow Specs Mamoth Classic 100 tent (1m² total floor space, 2m³ total). 1 x 240w quantum board. I don't think this is enough light, I'm considering adding another once I beat SARS in an ongoing cluster fuck from 2018. 2 x Ram Oscillating fans. 2 x HIT150 inline fans. One drawing filtered air from outside, the second exhausts outside to. Substrate - 40% Coir, 40%Perlite, 20% Washed silica(I like the additional weight the silica adds to the bags/pots). 5ltr Letaba plastic grow bags because the dimensions of the bag was quite appealing due to space issues. This will be my last grow using Nutriplex fertiliser program. I have a pest management program in place which consists of yellow sticky traps and a neem application every 10-14 days(not during flower). Beans were germinated at the end of Jan 2021. I selected only 2 mothers roughly 18 days later. Moms at 18 days Moms were topped and grown on for a further 20 days, then cuttings were taken. There is only one really sleg image I'm to embarrassed to share of the moms before they were mutilated. Brand new cuts Total of 12 cuts per plant were taken from each mother. l Rooted cuts 100% strike rate. The cuttings had a 50% dilution of the Nutriplex veg formulation from day 1 and received a fluvic foliar every other day. Looks like it worked. Bagged/potted cuts 4 days after the above image the plants were bagged and put into the tent. They received full strength Nutriplex veg formulation for 1 week, no issues. Which brings us round to 6 April when the below image was snapped. Plants are looking good and new growth can be seen. Thanks for looking, I really hope this grow ends well. CRIT, ADVISE and OPINION is always encouraged. Negative or positive, your feedback is valued... Particularly light and nutrition department.2 points

Pluto Cut Ja no I wouldn't do this strain outdoors again I heard Ethos could be finicky and that only the most perfect environments will do and I can see why. Out of all the outdoor plants I've grown this Pluto Cut has come out the worst. A lot of the plant is littered with powdery mildew, while the other outdoor plants I have are all sitting pretty. I will say though, the actual buds are very sticky and smells very pleasing. I am going to have to give the buds a proper wash at harvest. (sorry about the sideways pics, they are being automatically rotated as I upload and I've tried long enough to fix it )2 points

Yes. Yes. Yes. This has been part of my whole mission all along. To get more people interested in giving the plant a gap to evolve! Straight up...the likelyhood of good progeny from previously known/worked genetics is high. It starts becoming less successful when you start trying to use our land races. The thing about breeding, even if only to produce more seeds, is the chance at another generation, and another chance at improvement. Cannabis has evolved to such a point that its no longer just about the highest cannabinoid content. The relaxing of laws has changed breeding into a terpene hunt. The louder the better nowadays. In short, there is space for all kinds of cannabis, to suit all kinds of tastes.2 points

I believe the reason you do it in a certain order is to ensure you do not have the calcium react with other nutes (I think the potassium, stand to be corrected). They can end up binding to one another and precipitating out of the solution I believe. If the calcium is chelated (such as calcium edta) then it should not be an issue. I recall reading somewhere that kelpak works better as a foliar spray though? Also the benefits are only on new / young plants, as they get older it is pointless continuing with the Kelpak. I do not think it will cause issues, I use GHE nutes and personally I'd just add it to my nute mixture when watering.1 point

Tropic Banana #2 outdoor grown nuggies, tight trim vs loose trim. Not much Banana in the no2, she is very nice tho, smells like a old rag in a mechanics workshop, lol. Smokes is nice, potent erb, very gassy and earthy, but more like a diesel gas.1 point

That would be correct. I imported mine from the factory though.1 point

I had to fight to use this space, as it's communal to some degree. It's a long, boring story. It's actually just a space utilisation issue. I can store stuff underneath, tending to the plants is easier, less bending down, it's sort of less underfoot for people using the rest of the garage. Driver etc. on top of tent, keep extra heat furthest away from fresh air intake. Actually, theoretically, having the tent on the ground would place intake vents where the coldest air in most rooms is, at the bottom. Although, how much of a difference, depends on various factors I guess. Probably negligible if it's only a short distance. It's so much more of a pleasure to work in, personally. I love it!1 point

So a quick update, I have had to put the autos into the flower tent so they are on a 12 / 12 light cycle too. OG Kush - I really like this plant so far, the way it grows, the frost is decent (for an auto), the darker coloured bud looks great and makes the trichs pop. Even has a nice fade going. Gelato - it takes it's time, at least this pheno does. Looking much better but I am hoping the buds will swell still and gain a bit of fatness. Pluto cut - the leaves are quite peculiar in terms of their colour and the way they're dieing off. Seems alright but not quite exceptional, one of the larger autos out of this run. LSD 25 - I like the colour. Quite leafy though. The other smaller two auto's I ended up giving away. @Ill_Evan how is your auto looking?1 point

So upstairs we planted red clover and alfalfa to let the soil rest and recover after the lemon jedi cycle. A few random seeds germinated and we just let them go. We harvested the skunk1 and a few others. I lose less seeds if i dont trim.1 point

it was time I had enough of the blurple, I keep getting busy for like 5 min before remembering to switch it off, then I look out the tent and everythings dark and it's an instant headache. anyway, think the girls recovered well from the stress put the scrog net up, might do another layer depending on how they grow out in the next few weeks put the flower light in, still on 18/6 maybe 3 weeks I'll flip to 12/12 wire management here helps me sleep like a baby at night1 point

whats up man! are you going to be growing indoor or outdoors? Reason i ask, is that it is well into the flowering period for outdoor plants, and winter is approaching. That means if you want to try first outdoors, then your first grow may be somewhat of a let down. and indoor growing isnt exactly cheap to get going. Dont be disheartened though!! use this time to prepare your area for growing. Autos do not enjoy transplanting, so starting them in their final pot is best. 20l pots should be perfect. Either of those soils should suffice, maybe a mix of them both will good as well. the soild should have most of what the plant needs to get it through to harvest, but do yourself a favour and get some veg nutes and some flower nutes. Biobizz has a good range of nutrients for every part of your grow needs. End of august is the right time to plant outdoor seeds that will turn into massive trees without much care haha1 point
