Popped the seeds just now at 11:15AM in room temperature mineral water to leave to soak overnight.

Dropped the 3 seeds at 07.30 into filtered water around 27 degrees. Good Luck to all into the competition! Hope you have a blast...

Morning I've got a beautiful Double Krush female that I've had for about 2 years now. She ticks all the boxes. She puts out big greasy buds of pure chem goodness. She smells and tastes like sprite and tiger balm, and packs a massive punch. I've been dreaming of doing a cross between Pineapple Fields and my Double Krush girl. We've selected a beautiful PF male, and I now have the pollen in my hands. On Monday I will pollinate my DK. From those seeds I will select a mother. Then I will try to establish that cut within the community. Once that is done, I will pollinate the mother with the same PF male and work the line from there. At this point, it is just a fun project, but I will attempt to document it here. I also have to reach out to Skunk_VA and Dynasty Genetics to get their blessing.

First post in Growoff Diary (2021 Indoor Grow Off)

19.15 i checked the seeds (11 hours 45 mins passed) and plated them. 1 swimmer, 2 sinkers Used filtered (carbon and UV) water for plating.. normal kitchen paper towels and a little medical scoop to fish out the seeds and place them. Then cover with another paper towel. Warmed the water to 26 degrees, so the new home is nice and warm. Decided to keep the plates in the veg tent, is rather warm 24/7. Lets see tomorrow morning were we stand. I put the kitchen towel around not to keep it more warm ^^ but to be sure is dark where the seeds are.

Seeing that very body is saying how they will grow here goes. Soil: I have been mixing my own soil for a while now. Base is Peat moss, perlite, worm castings and leaf mold. Amended with Rock Phosphate, vulcanic rock dust, bone meal, gardeners gold dust, kelp meal, alfalfa meal, vitagrow fertilizer, cow manure, insect frass and malted barley. (I might have missed some things) Watering: Blumat system Feeding: Teas if necessary. Foliar feeds. Lighting: Fluence vyprx.

I will run a full video diary with all the values.. even do the Ph/ppm with a pen for each feeding solution.. as I know Gelatos like my pocket.. I might have a slight advantage. So I post every detail.. and do that every day. As I never did that.. I might learn some myself for this strain. Just, please, i fuckup like all the rest, never grew Tortoni before, just Gelatos from 42FastBuds in Auto and Photo (100+ total) version.. if you run into troubles, use my pictures.. if they are healthy plants.. check the numbers i post, should bring you back on track if needed. The Gelato doesn't like over feeding, will show you this one , very quick. Watch your tips, react with pure water when you see them discolor. Once they flower, you can actually go a bit over the average.. they form very nice and dense flowers (they want light go preferred 1200 micromol).. that needs feeding, increase your flower fertilizer depending on thickness of the buds. Watch those leaves. Is about all input I can give... and yes.. EASY with the youngsters.. they grow fast.. no need to push em. addon don't go over the edge during veg with light or they don't stretch enough. 500 micromol really fits. as soon as you swap light cycle, bring it up in steps! No need to blast 1200 on right away...

From what I remember during the last grow off, was that everyone was on everyone's team - advice and suggestions flowed freely For real the biggest challenge in the last comp was the updating of the diaries... I think more than half the entries were dqf because of it. This is a challenge not just to grow weed the best, but to adhere to the rules in a competition format.

Collecting and saving as much pollen as possible from the males daily. The Russian fuel female in the back corner in the big black pot just started to flower. Strawberry cola by exotic is in the fabric pot. 2 smallest babies are fastbuds's pineapple express and the rest is all purple glam kush auto's.

The deep candy took the tranplant hard. Still waiting for her to recover. The Cloudwalker is really impressive. Hybrid vigour is strong. The seedlings are coming along nicely.

Where can I buy regular seeds? Nope, never tried that one... actually hear the first time of it. As long as I take a paff and think i drink a pina colada, is sold

I've never grown out pineapple fields before. First batch of clones will be ready in the next few days though. I can tell you, that I've been lusting after pineapple fields for about 7 years now. I've followed many journals on the strain, and some of those were by growers that I respect and trust. Pineapple Fields is lauded as the most pineapple of pineapple strains, with over the top terps. We will see, but I have high hopes and Christopher Rex is also a breeder I admire.

The Pineapple Fields... does it taste like Pineapple or is it just a fancy fake name? I look for Pineapple smoking taste.. pheno hunting some Express at the moment.. last 15 Express I tested had fruity but no Pineapple taste. I know there is, as I smoked some very exquisite Pineapple flavored Express 6 years ago.. I want that again ^^ Worth to have a look into Fields?

Howsit goin... New to the grow scene, jus finish my 1st harvest, Autos... This is exactly the right place I need to be to take my growing experience to Higher levels

The Grow bed has arrived ahead of schedule. I will do the 3 plants in one bed. 100l

I see just to many posting single Bio Bizz components they use.. is a fertilizer system and should be used like that. So here is my guide to Bio Bizz to use in soil (recommended soil: Freedom Farms Green Bag, Premium Classic). For Autoflower, follow the light-mix / coco mix table as good as you can, with 2 changes to be more on the save side, if you start with the fertilizer. You need 4 products for soil: Fish-Mix, Grow, Bloom and Top-Max First change to the table: Start giving Fish-Mix when you got your first 5 finger leaf growing, not before! Second change: Only start with Top-Max, when your flowers are finger thick. And no guessing how much you put into your water, be as accurate as you can be! 1ml is 1ml.. not 1.5 or 0.7.. is 1! Lets make a theory run: You start the germination process with sterile water and let them pop and grow to about 2cm root. Plant in your grow medium. As soon as the plants show their 5 finger leaf (end week 2, if slow week three), you add 2ml Fish-Mix to each liter of water you feed. (I syringe feed till they have occupied the 11 liter pot, is my max pot size for Autos) If you run feminized seeds, the time table is not for you. But till now, you did the same.. go on feeding 2ml till they reach about 100cm, go up to 3ml per liter Fish-Mix. When your plants show the first signs, that they go into flowering, swap from Fish-Mix to Grow and bloom. Autos follow the table, feminized go 2ml/2ml of each. When the flowers are easy to see by eye, I have the next shift and go 3/3 of Grow and Bloom. As soon as the flowers reach finger thickness, time to add Top-Max to the party (1ml). This is not nutrition, is a enzyme forcing flower production.. and rather expensive ^^ So easy with it. You stay on 3/3 grow and bloom per liter from now on till end, you just add 2 more stages of Top-Max depending how your flowers grow. So the final weeks you run 3 Grow, 3 Bloom, 3 Top-Max per liter of water. Every 2 weeks, put a flush day. Water the pots with pure water till you have a very good run off! Is to eliminate concentrated fertilizer pockets in the soil. If you use saucers, never ever let the plants stand in water for longer as 5 hours. Empty by hand if needed. 2 weeks before harvest you drop the Grow and Bloom.. if you feel freaky and your wallet is filled, stay on adding 2ml Top-Max only for the next 4-5 days, then pure water till the end. (I recommend a 2 day total darkness stress and no water before you cut and hang to dry.. if you haven't tried, try, curing time drops quite a bit with that method, smoke is way smoother from the start) Autoflower, you can follow that table really 1:1.. but plants not following their grow schedule you will kill. So always use your brain.. giving a not yet flowering plant bloom.. will hurt her over time. She just doesn't need the P yet in those amounts. The sole difference between Fish-Mix and Grow is that Grow is 75% Fish-Mix and 25% molasses. So when you swap from Fish to Grow, you reduce N and add sugar.. just that you understand. The additional sugar is also a way to push the plants into flowering.. what means.. do not use Grow on early Autos!!!!!! You can use Grow from time to time on your feminized in Veg state.. but I personal stick to Fish-Mix only during the growing phase. And a last little add on.. for Autoflowers I recommend to use Root Juice from Bio Bizz.. you can already dump the seeds in a glass with Root Juice mix (4ml) and also wet the paper towels with it. It improves the grow of your roots a lot.. and bigger roots mean faster grow.. Autoflower depend on being fast in the first 3 weeks or your plant will stay rather small. Is additional cost.. and not needed for Fems.. they have enough time ^^ Hope that helped.. any questions.. just ask.. and I wouldn't use Bio Bizz for Hydro... Fish-Mix has about the same smell as fresh diarrhea after a day when you let the water stand.. soil you smell nothing at all from the plants.. never used it on Coco.. so can't say. Hope that helped a little NPK ratios: Fish-Mix: 5-1-4 Grow: 4-3-6 Bloom: 2-7-4 Always give it a good shake before you use it!!!!!!!

So here we go.. not sure if I'm early to the party but what the hel.. Will have some space in the tent soon and by the time these girls get flipped they should have the tent to themselves... Grow nitty gritties: 1x1 Mammoth Pro 100 Tent 600w HID Extractor fan and two fans for air flow.. The plan: Will be starting the seeds in a tin with paper towel on top of the decoder. From there straight into Freedom Farms Seed Starter. I Have not used it before and is quite excited to try it out.. After the girls have been Veged to reach the required size, they'll be potted up into 5L pots. Here is where I wil be testing a different soil mix for each.. #1 Will be grown in Freedom Farm Premium Classic & Diotomatious Earth.. #2 Will be grown in FF PC, DE and Super Frass 3# Will be grown in FF PC & DE Mixed with worm castings, Organic Mulch potting soil and extra Perlite.. None of the plants will get anything else. Normal declorinated tap water only. This grow off will determine my soil mix for further grows. It also serves as a bit of a test on the Super Frass and FF Seed Starter.. With these mixes I am sure to have 3 way different results.. @Live Canna thanks for the tip. I'm down in the Cape Town area and the only time I used Lucerne it came in a big bale for horses. We put it into the compost pile and it made it really heat up. It's good to know that you can also use it indoors too. @The_StonedTrooperthe bricks I buy are supposed to be Pre washed and buffered but the EC starts off at 2.2 and it's only after soaking and rinsing it out twice that I bring it down to 0.7 Its a lot of effort it takes a long time to get it ready to use.

Where did you source yours from in those days? You could only really get it in small quantities in Spar/PnP etc and fairly expensive. Its the reason I started buying/selling epsoms to some garden shops in JHB and used to supply Windell/Hortishop epsoms when they first opened up in Randburg. Managed to convince them to put it in their promix soil too. It is amazing stuff that I use for many applications today.

One week later, three waterings with a bit more nutes than usual and they are looking a lot greener, bushier and happier. Growth has also returned. Thanks peeps. That will teach me to ignore my plants for work

Found this really cool report testing CBD against Covid-19 both in vitro trials as well as a small number of patient trials both of which has showed a reduction in infection and replication rates. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7987002/ found this paragraph very interesting: “Given that CBD preparations containing substantial amounts of CBD are taken by a large number of individuals, we examined whether CBD exposure might correlate to a decreased risk of SARS-CoV-2 infection. Analysis of over 93,000 patients tested for SARS-CoV-2 at the University of Chicago Medical Center showed that 10.0% tested positive overall, but only 5.7% of the ~400 who had any cannabinoid in their medical record tested positive (Fig. 6). Patients taking CBD versus other cannabinoids had an even lower rate of testing positive (1.2% in 85 CBD patients versus 7.1% in 113 patients taking other cannabinoids, p=0.08). This finding that patients taking other cannabinoids had less protection against viral infection is consistent with our cell culture studies. Since multiple potential confounding factors could explain these findings, including age, race, clinical morbidities, and sex, we matched 82 patients who were prescribed oral, FDA-approved CBD (Epidiolex®) before COVID-19 testing to patients who had no indication of taking any cannabinoids but had comparable other characteristics including similar demographic characteristics, clinical comorbidities, and records of other medications in the two years before COVID-19 testing (table S1). Of the patients prescribed oral CBD before their COVID-19 test, the most common morbidity categories were hypertension and conditions with immunosuppression. Strikingly, only 1.2% of the patients prescribed CBD contracted SARS-CoV-2 whereas 12.2% of the matched, non-cannabinoid patients tested positive (p=0.009), suggesting a potential reduction in SARS-CoV-2 infection risk of approximately an order of magnitude.”
