Welcome! Very awesome and cool setup you have there, amazing setup to start with! Congrats! Although I do have some concerns which I will list below. A single arrow dripper per 20L pot I fear will not be sufficient, it will not saturate the entire medium. Also is this on a timer? The lights do not have proper heatsinks and with the power supply being mounted on there, it will get very hot and reduce the lifespan of the diodes. Remove the power supplies from the top of the lights and make sure to have a fan blowing down directly over the light to keep them cool and help prolong the life of the diodes. 440W / 480W of lighting for that that size tent isn't optimum when it comes to flowering, you will want to look at an additional 2x 240W lights for optimum output. This can be added at a later stage though, perhaps consider lights with some heatsinks when you do get additional lights. Air circulation, a single clip on rotational fan won't sufficient - especially once the plants get bigger. Maybe take a look at my grow diary (links in my signature) to see how I setup my 2.4 x 1.2 tent - I have 2x 30cm box fans which are mounted at the top of the tent and blow down over the lights as well as plants and the lurve helps rotate the airflow direction to really get the air circulating well inside the tent. You want to avoid moisture build up or stale air in certain sections of the tent. With the above being said, nothing to worry about right away especially considering the plants are still quite small. I'd say keep an eye out for an additional fan to add to the tent in the near future, shouldn't cost more than R400 give or take for a decent fan. It does not need to be a clip on fan. As for the lighting, this is expensive - I know. If funds do not allow for additional lighting at the moment, then do not worry and continue with the grow and look at adding the additional lighting once budget allows. The additional lighting can lead to better yields as well if everything else is dialed in with your grow. The additional Arrow drippers should not be difficult or expensive to add so you can have multiple drippers per 20L pots. I'd say you want a minimum of 2 drippers and ideally 4 per pot for a nice even coverage. I have never used that soil, so cannot comment there although for your next grow perhaps consider trying coco instead of soil - with the setup you have it makes sense to move over to coco and you will likely benefit from faster growth as well and you can often get coco for less than the price of soil. If you wanted to, you could also squeeze more pots inside the tent. 10 pots leaves a lot of space in the tent still. Not bad thing, but just know that you can fit more plants inside the tent without issue if you ever wanted to The GHE Tri Part nutrients are awesome! Very simple to use as well. Please do keep us updated with your grow and progress and if you get stuck or have any questions let us know and we will happily assist! Welcome to the forum!5 points

Week 2 - Day 10(17/05/2021) The plants have been growing steadily. The first signs of the second set of leaves are starting to show and the roots are slowly starting to pop out of the netpod. As i dont want the roots to get tangled in the holes of the net pod, transplanting will have to be done soon.4 points

This is always a power poll. Freedom Farms Premium Classic (green bag) has served me very well in my outdoor grows. I have had many jalapeño poppers this year! The outdoor cannabis that I use for my tinctures also have FF to thank.4 points

If they are under a 240 QB from Light it up, then you should have your lights dimmed to 160-180, at a height of 70-80cm for this early veg stage4 points

i think you may be doing it the wrong way around. (should have gone longer dark cycle over a longer light cycle at the end) i have heard a lot of people try different light methods with limited success, but the one which showed the greatest promise, was the following. so in natures grow cycle, spring and summer have loooong day light hours and shorter night time hours, which is how we grow our veg plants... with longer light hours, and then when the nights get longer and the days get shorter, the outdoor plants start to flower. and by the end of flower, night times are very long and day times are shorter. so if you were to mimic natures cycle you would go from high light veg cycle of 15 hours plus, to the flip day where you go to 12\12, and then what i have heard does wonders is if you change the light cycle to 14h dark, and 10 hours light, and you do this 2-3 weeks before you harvest during the last 2 weeks of a plants flowering to ripeness, the longer dark period makes the plant think that the end of the season is here, and what this means for indoor plants that have not been pollinated, is that they must now try even harder to find a mate, which is where they bulk up and supposedly become ultra resinous. so in your write up, its more of a - you go from veg, straight to the cycles you mentioned which i dont think would be the best way to try it4 points

Depends a bit on the strain, how they can handle light.. so might also be some strains having no issue with 13/11. If I would have 2 flower tents.. might try it ^^ but I stick to 12/12 till then. Thanks for posting4 points

So I have recently received a loan light with the option to buy for the @420SA grow off courtesy of @Light It Up with no strings attached. The generosity and kindness on this forum is second to none. I'm what you can consider a lockdown grower so i am pretty new to the indoor game. It started off with a jug of homebrew moonshine, a cabinet and a 9w LED lead light. Next step was 200 odd watts of CFL's and 3 shelving units converted into a grow cabinet. Needless to say the hunt was soon on for LED's but lockdown and no money proved a bit of a challenge. Saving the pennies and MW driver I happened to have it wasn't long before I had a decent light. And now I have a light that is ideal for my flower cabinet thanks to @Light It Up. So I started my research. This is the image available and info given on the website. Description The 240W Quantum Board LED Grow Light lets you grow what you love all year round. This product ensures that your seedlings and plants receive all the necessary light they require to perform photosynthesis regardless of the season, converting the light they capture into sugars necessary for growth. Do not exceed 240W as this may cause damage to the light. TOP FEATURES High efficiency warm white light quantum board Full-spectrum for better yield and results Reliable passive-cooled design Better canopy light penetration with diffused light Ideal for veg and bloom Dimmable power supply included High intensity and even coverage in a grow tent or room Less energy consumption Lifespan of 50 000 hours plus Warranty: 1 year on board | 5 years on driver PRODUCT SPECIFICATIONS Samsung LED LM301B | 2 x QB288 V2 Power: 240W South African three-point plug Spectrum: 3500K Voltage Range: 90-277VAC Meanwell Driver XLG-240-H-AB Flowering footprint: 0.81㎡ Veg footprint: 1,44㎡ CRI: 80 Dimensions: 64cm x 19.5cm x 1.5cm Mounting Height: 35cm – 70cm above canopy WHY GO QUANTUM BOARD? Introducing the latest LED technology to arrive on the grow scene. Samsung’s LM301B diodes are top of the range and include full spectrum warm white LED’s, perfect for veg and flowering stages. The 240W Quantum Board LED Grow Light produces more light than a single ended 400W HPS, while using way less power. A large aluminum heat sink keeps the diodes cool, reducing dust buildup and eliminating noise. The low profile design gives you freedom of placement, while coverage is excellent. A separate Meanwell XLG-240-H-AB driver powers the unit, which can be wall mounted, mounted to the tent poles or placed outside the tent. You have the benefits of a cooler room, less energy consumption, higher yields and more savings in your wallet! WHATS IN THE BOX? 120W QB288 with Heatsink x2 Meanwell XLG-240-H-AB x1 Dimmer x1 Mounting wire & Rope Ratchets x1 Power Meter x1 Wires and connectors x1 I'm just finding my way around on how to post pic then text so you guys might have to put 2 and 2 together yourselves every now and again. More to follow soon.3 points

Its not surprise to any veteran & new grower that we switch our plants from veg to flower by switching the light cycle to 12/12 The light cycle is important because plants need light to photosynthesize. The more light we can give them, the better they are. With photoperiod plants, we are limited to only 12 hours of light during the flowering stage. However, there is confusion in the growing community about the duration of lighting that works best for flowering 11/13 Flowering Light Cycle: Can it Improve Your Grow? When growing photoperiod marijuana, it’s a standard practice to give it 18/6 in veg and 12/12 in flower. However, there are growers who use a shorter photoperiod and swear by it. Let’s review the existing studies and anecdotal evidence and see if 11/13 flowering light cycle and similar light schedules really work. What Does Science Say on Flowering Under 13/11? It’s notoriously difficult to find any peer-reviewed scientific publications on the subject of cannabis cultivation. The question of using 11/13 for flowering is no exception. There’s one major paper that studied the effects of light (intensity, spectrum etc.) on cannabis production. It only briefly states that shorter photoperiod potentially leads to smaller yields*. Well, it’s expected, and this is the same thing as growers on forums say. Another study actually focused not on medical marijuana, but on hemp grown for fiber. It also noted that shorter photoperiod causes earlier flowering**. The researchers observed little difference in flowering times if days lasted 13 h 40 min or less. However, if light hours were at 14 h 40 min or more, this significantly delayed the beginning of flowering (and the harvest time). Well, hardly any real-life grower has ever experimented with a 14/10 cycle, so this doesn’t give us much insight. It’s interesting that both 12/12 and 13/11 fall into the “13 h 40 min or less” category, and the scientists didn’t find the difference statistically significant. And in case you’re wondering what’s the maximum length of day at which most cannabis plants start to flower indoors, it’s 13.2 hours (and 10.8 h of dark)***. So not only the ‘11 on 13 off flowering’ light schedule, but also the opposite (13 on 11 off) can be used for flowering. At least, for indicas and indica-dominant strains. And that’s it in terms of reliable scientific data. Let’s hope we get more in the future More Controversial Findings on 11/13 Flowering Light Cycle Perhaps, the list above didn’t inspire you to try less than 12 hours of light during flowering? Well, here are a few extra points that’ll probably change your mind. At least two celebrity breeders—the legendary DJ Short of the Blueberry fame and Swerve from Cali Connection—recommend to shorten the day during flowering. DJ Short believes that this method is great for breeding. It’s because it increases the expression of sativa genes in a hybrid. This affects the plant structure and the shape and the texture of buds (e.g. foxtailing). More importantly, it also influences the high. Presumably, the standard 12/12 cycle makes the effect more couch-locky. And if you want more of the cerebral sativa energy, you better make light hours shorter and darkness longer. The effect of 11/13 grown buds also tends to be a creeper, according to anecdotal reports. Some people say that they’ve noticed less stretch on 11/13 during flowering. Which means that you should give your plants a longer veg than normal if you want the same final height. There’s much controversy about whether the 13/11 flowering time produces more trichomes or less. Some think less light equals less THC. Others say THC gets degraded by light, so more hours of darkness means more potency. Anyway, if you want more resinous buds, the 11/13 method doesn’t seem like a good idea. You may want to try the extended dark period before harvest instead. The same goes for 13/11, the logic behind it is that cannabis can flower with more than 12 hours of light and less darkness but to a certain point. Buy maxing the amount of light you can give during flower (which is believed to be 13) You can potentially increase your yields. I have tried both 11/13 & 13/11. I didn't see much of a difference except a slight bigger bud on 13/11 and more resin in 11/13, but not that much. What i have adapted from the above test and article is a 13/11 for the first 2 weeks of flower, 12/12 during mid flower & 11/13 during the last weeks followed by 6/18 and 36hrs of complete darkness on the last week of flower. I'm keen to hear everyone s take on this. ARTICLE SOURCES: 11/13 Flowering Light Cycle: Can it Improve Your Grow? Benefits of 13/11 13/11? Or 14/10?3 points

I didn't see him mention that so ya definitely not Ca def then. To throw another spanner in the works, someone suggested he spray for mites... which could lead to more burn and even more confusion. So @Keegan I would really hold back on the pesticide spray for now until you've addressed the current issue, which definitely isn't caused by mites3 points

Glad everyone is enjoying their lights from us - we have been making some slight improvements to the overall light, such as switching over to a new dimmer, changing the way the wiring runs to help keep the wiring a bit neater, ensuring the power supply is setup to prevent someone from giving their light more power than recommended and we will continue to improve where possible. If anyone ever has any questions, please feel free to reach out to us - either here on the forum (can tag us in a post or drop us a PM, can even create a post under our vendor section on the forum) or via email or our website's contact us page. We are happy to assist and give honest advice, our aim is to try and help the community and fellow growers.3 points

Just another issue you might sit with. Running salts through those drippers is not the best of ideas. They will become clogged. Some plants might not get fed.3 points

Righty ho. Roots have appeared on #1 & #3 so I think it's soil time. Some of you that have been monitoring my progress since I started growing a year ago will have noticed I have a different light now. A few weeks back when everyone was scrambling to get their beans before the cut off date there was a lot of goodwill and offers of help going about. Was actually a good feeling watching people willing to help strangers. A few of you reached out to help me pay the entrance fee. Thanks to you all for the offer. Then a local guy I support soil wise gave me soil towards the grow, how he found out I don't know. So a big thank you to Jou Ma se Soil although I changed to Just Cannabis at the 11th hour. And the generosity didn't stop there. @Light It Up reached out and asked if I had a decent light and offered me a 240w QB for the duration of the grow. No strings attached, put it back in the box and return to sender after the grow off. Or purchase it if I wanted to. Speechless. I've already quit the pub and smoking next. You know where this is going. Big shout out again to the above, the forum, @Totemic and the sponsor's for such a great opportunity.3 points

Tomorrow I am 3 years away from hitting 50 and I agree.. Keeping it on the lowdown because of the years of persecution.. Must say though that I pretty much fell out the closset the past few years.. and more and more give a shit what people think or what their opinions are .. Below a pic from KNF Gardens Insta page.. Just love what their doing..2 points

I reckon that most guys on here are from the older school, myself included. Klapped the big 40 last year. Don't dig the whole selfie vibe, especially while being in your zen space. It's fkn sacred man! It's been engrained in me to be as incognito as possible when it comes to the herb. The old school way. The conservative way. Things are changing and soon we will pose proud for a selfie while toking on a fat blunt...without being parries about who sees the insta image Bless up guys2 points

The main issue is that they only grow when they have light. So with the right flowering stimulators in the feeding.. you can skip the dark and just go light. I wouldn't get the idea to go 11/13.. that just makes no sense. I still believe that the more light the better the result.. hence, why I prefer autos over all.. but.. you can't pheno hunt autos.. the breeder needs to do a proper job.. and most out there don't do that and just release asap. Checking a strain for the minimum dark period, makes sense.. but also another factor to go wrong. Worst is a re veg.. that hormone change in grow function leaves marks in the plants substance and weakens the plant over all.2 points

I agree but must add@growopz is also doing some great stuff price wise. The one imports, assembles and supplies. I'm happy, takes the hassle out off me having to import. The other imports, builds and supplies. Also happy. Supporting two local suppliers. Happy. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk2 points

its not budrot in this case, but it still doesnt change the answer ima give you.... so, the one plant is like you said...dead... and it looks kinda small and spindly and not that great TBH, the next one that looks like it was dying....was dying lol... but looks like the bud is a bit better... trim all the dead brown leaves and bud off and dry it , then only Jar it. then the last plant that doesnt look so bad, is likely also ready to come down and trimmed up, dried then jarred. you really want to avoid jarring moist bud as it WILL mould and go pretty manky2 points

The Magneto works great.. One needs at least 2 if you want to extend light hrs for vege if you vege outside your tent.. My cuts got half confuzed with only one and hovered between flower and vege.. The intensity with one is just not enough..2 points

I have chucked the two EazyPlugs with the seeds that didn't pop and I have potted The One seedling in a 7.5L pot. I have potted The One with Gold Label 70/30 coco/perlite and the first feeding is the "first true leaves" dosage for GHE nutrients, halved, of 0.5ml per litre of Grow, Micro (soft) and Bloom respectively. I have also added some extra silicon at a strength of 6% SiO2 at a dose of 0.5ml per litre. The One looks so much darker under LED. I'm happy with it's health so far. Now it will establish itself before being finally potted in the 17l fabric pot. I am considering some ideas for how I will be training The One. Thinking of doing a eight-way manifold since I haven't done one since I was still growing in DWC.2 points

Update: Day 2 of veg Not too early to count as veg right? Not a great photo, but also not much to show yet. They were under an old blurple light which explains the stretch. I've now got them under a 120W QB. I'll keep the humidity dome for a while. The temperature in the tent seems to be going from 19-23 so not terrible, but I'll have to watch that as it gets colder here.2 points
