  1. So the couriers just dropped my seeds off which means I'm the official "laat lammetjie" . Thanks for the weekend's grace @420SA and community In light of this I'll start my diary off with my planned approach and then figure out how to deal with losing about 2 weeks of veg . My thinking here is to cause as little stress as possible, meaning final pots with LST and no topping. My germination strategy would be dropping the seeds into luke warm water until the morning after which all 3 will go straight into peat pellets. I'm going to use my 3D printer bed and set it to 30deg for a makeshift heat mat to give them a cozy welcoming. Once they've sprouted and roots have shown they'll go directly into their respective final pots. My normal growing method is hydro and I'm going to free up 2 slots by potting my current grow into fabric pots and then try my hand at organic with the last bean (successful germination permitting). My current grow is only 4 weeks into veg now so they should recover... right? For my hydro I'll be using my usual T.A. (GHE) Tri-Series regime but this time including Environoc 401. I'll be keeping... loosely... to the feeding charts minus about 25% and then adjusting thereafter according to their needs. A comment by @CreX somewhere in my travels here got me interested in "bioponics" and I've since started incorporating Environoc 401 in my other tent with some positive results. Definitely think this is my hydro route I'm following here. As for my organic grow I'll be using T.A Pro Organic along with Environoc 401 and MycoRoot in Freedom Farms soil and fabric pots. My set up for this grow will be a 120x70x165cm tent with an old style BestVA LED drawing about 240W at the wall, hopefully I'll be able to invest in a QB before flower . For vent I have a 6" inline exhaust fan and a 4" inline intake fan pulling air in from outside. I'm excited for the opportunity to grow alongside and learn from the veteran horticulturists here Let's do this!

  6. Well, the little ones seem to be stunted when compared to some of the other monsters in the grow off.. Only giving them declorinated water and they received a light dose of kelp foliar feed this morning.

  7. Hey All, I know that I hardly post my grows (logs), and this I want to change. So I've started this thread on room 2, and this will be where I bring my clones and seeds to life. Getting them ready for room 1, the flowering tent. There are a few strains in here at the moment, and some fancy clones from all over, and will keep you up dates on this thread as time grows. My next line up to come Soon as some of these plants and clones are at their new homes, room 1, 3 and 4. Thank you and hope that everyone will enjoy the grows and learning with me.

  8. And last night I opened up my tent and saw the pistols and something else! I am used to any sort of colour only cooling through towards the end of flower.... Not this strain... I have 2 phenos that are already going red tones to the calyx and it shows! Keen to see the plants in a week!

  9. Hey Fam, @ORGANinc. @iGrowDagga @Marzcanna @Ill_Evan As the title suggests, a debate on silicon used in either method of growing. Do you use it, why, and how do you use it? Have you found it to work, hamper or cause more issues? Which form of it do you use if so and why? Thank you

  10. Yo guys! i have been gifted some seeds from @Prom a while back and promised to do a grow diary with them. so this is my bash at it! ill try keep it going and do a smoke report i have been a little slack with the diary entries, but am ready to post a small journey with them. i do not have their baby photos anymore since my old phone decided to pack up, but i do have a pic or 2 of their adolescent stage and now that they are flowering i am gonna be adding more updates. what a pleasure to grow this plant though... i didn't have much space for the 4 girls at first, and so they grew well into their pots before they went into their final home, never complained and actually looked better than half my other plants in larger homes most of the time. they all grew quite large leaves with a subtle blue undertone from their happy growth. i potted them up into the tote and let them stretch their legs for some time before flipping, making sure i can get an even canopy was a bit tricky with the 4 phenos, as there are 2 above average stretchers. as soon as i flipped the tote, the ladies coudlnt stop thanking me with lovely green growth and fast growth. i have taken cuttings of each pheno and man am i glad i did! the one pheno is already going red and its only the 2nd week of flower! iv never seen anything like this before haha!! please enjoy and come along for the ride.

  16. Quick Garden Update. The girls are at start of week 6 and not looking too bad. But I thought the time for experimenting and reviewing was over and so it was time to remove the burples that weren't too bad until now but honestly..they have served their purpose. it was time to bring out the Mars Hydro SP to help out the Leon 200 finish up this grow

  17. Hi folks. So this weekend saw the transplant of the clone ladies from 15cm to 20cm pots. The root systems looked super happy and healthy with a nice shade of white. Mind the droopy leaves they got a feed straight after the transplant.. I will probably flip to flower this coming weekend as the height of the ladies should be sufficient enough to ensure nice big and tall main colas. Will post some close up pics with my first post flip post

  26. Hi guys Hoping for an opportunity to learn from the gurus! Been growing for a few months. I converted a garden shed into a grow room. Built my new 2nd shed and fitted out the internals after a lot of lessons learnt from mistakes with shed 1. Learning every day but struggling with WPM (I suspect set up issues) New shed: Timber structure Sealed top to bottom Rockwool cavity batts in walls Drywall Chipboard 2x Samsung 220W LED’S 8x LED T5’s 8” Extraction Fan 2x 6” active intake 6” Carbon Filter 4x 300mm Oscillating fans 2x RAM 180mm fans 2x 230mm floor standing oscillating fans 1x Meaco 12L Humidifier 1x Jetair 9000 BTU Aircon I recently messed up timing with a perpetual grow & landed up having to flip to flower in the new shed. Long story short, leaves are all over each other and a most likely cause of the current PM issue (beginning stage) Does anyone have any proven method of 1. Stopping PM in progress. 2, changes they made to the environment to prevent PM? Sorry for the lengthy post Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  31. yea man it was a life saver for me as well... i was going the sterile route, but i knew very little about how to keep things sterile, and its not at all easy for a home grower, growing on the home growers budget ...and so i fucked it up and got the dreaded brown snot slime (cyanobacteria) and literally nearly packed up my grow shit and stopped growing, i was 3 days from quitting when i came across a tea recipe called Heisenberg's compost tea... sourced all the ingredients locally, made the tea,...and in 3 days after application into my res, i had new white happy roots growing in my water...i couldnt believe my eyes!! and so my growing vigor and enthusiasm resumed! the 2 most important ingredients in the tea were the mycos(great white) and the bacilli's bacteria genes(ancient forest compost) ...the rest were just additional sources for diversity or foods for the microbes. so eventually i made teas less frequently and just added regular doses of those 2 main ingredients and shit seemd great haha.

  33. the concentration is hectic strong according to the internet... 2% of the volume, so like 200ml in 10l mix.... but dont go that strong... you dont need to worry about it burning your plants, but have had good results with teaspoon or 2 per 10l. do you have a powder or the black balls?

  34. I was wondering about adding the mycoroot to the res, didn't want to take a chance but I'll definitely give that a bash now. I normally change every +/-10 days so stretching that to 14 days would be easy. Thanks for that

  36. I do use silica, off the top of my head, Basalt, and barley would be a substantial part of my input, then Diatoms I used to add in the beginning, and have since stopped as I feel it may inhibit microbial activity if over used, similiar situation with the neem... However the two are known for creating a overall healthier rhizoshpere due to its ability to keep pathogens in check. Works well in both forms. I've recently added more than the usual basalt into my mix and happy with the results. Dou you use it... not a question, its quite an essential element, but only one of the many many pieces of the puzzle.

  37. I started with an international product called "Silica Blast" and than after doing some research and gathering some homemade recipes and tweaking it I moved away from the product. At the time I was hugely into coco and synthetics (hydro style) so I would mix silica in water and let it set for about 2 hrs with no added chemicals except for phing solution (no base nutes or anything else added) I would feed it once a week with no issues. Stems became stronger and "bendy" which allowed me to LST even to some "extreme" angles, which also helped me to avoid "Topping" and focuss more on LST and Supercropping. Yields did increase but I can't say it a direct effect of silica or more likely the ability to train the plant more effectively
