  2. Hi folks. So I flipped to flower on the 31st of May. I was satisfied with the sizes of the plants taking into consideration the clones in the middle of the tent that will also add to the total yield. I have cleaned up the 6 mother plants and will clean up the clones by the weekend. Then maybe one final clean up at the end of week 2 of flower. Struggling a bit with colder temps and Eskom fucking around but other than that not a lot to complain about. Cleaning up the plants have also introduced me to their unique smells. It's really nice to start to smell the ladies and what they might represent going into flower. Please mind the drooping Twisted Helix.. it turns out she drinks a lot and only got a feed after the clean up. Here are some before and after pics... 4. Donor/mother plants were harvested on Sunday. Quite stoked with how they came out, but I think they would have done better if the lower growth was removed so the plants could focus on the top colas. guess that's comes with more experience, this is only my 3rd proper grow. I will probably wash both of them through bags and press the hash. Tent ladies... First thing I noticed when I opened the building door was acrid burned electrical smell. 1 of the RAM circulation fans had burned out during the evening. Quite fucked off with that, these fans were a new addition for this grow. Less than 3 months old!! I have no idea what the dry yield is going to be. Anyone keen to hazard a guess? I'd love hear from the seasoned growers. Front View Canopy view Thanks for looking. Your opinion, negative or positive is most valued.

  6. Midweek update: So gave a little watering. They seem to be trucking along just fine. The leaves on these plants are seriously large as well as thick The temps are sitting in the mid to low 20's at times. But all in all doing well.

  7. Update: Week 3 of veg - doh! This is probably an upsetting image, my apologies Repotted Probably worth talking about how I screwed up so far. I almost always grow from clones so my seedling stage growing clearly needs work. The ferts I was using for the seedlings had much too high an EC. I was diluting my veg ferts but was not diluting it nearly enough (or testing the EC ) That and being a bit distracted by non-cannabis things the last couple of weeks was enough to cause what looks like N toxicity. I've given the coco a flush and have have started using ferts with a (tested) much lower EC. The new growth is already looking better, so I'm hopeful. As I understand with N toxicity the old leaves don't recover fully/quickly. T1 and T2 have pretty good root systems and despite the horror that is the drooping there, the leaves look ok. So I'm hopeful. I'm estimating that I've lost a good week, maybe more, due to stunting. Its going to be really interesting to see how they do from this point on. Pretty silly mistake, but I'm happy. Just learned something valuable for next time. Also I'm really glad I'm growing in coco, it make the testing and correction very easy

  8. Documenting every step is actually quite a mission As the pots got bigger... remembered that I have to set the light new too. Distance to the canape is 61cm (288 QB 3000k 660nm, all 4 used in the tent) Tarryn Sisa

  10. So.. this escalated quickly lol. I bought a second tent, Mars Hydro 60x60x140cm. This will be for the mother. Then I'll take clones and veg them a bit in my main tent then flip to flower. Not sure if I should lollipop yet or not but I'll get to that when the time comes. Then for now while I'm still looking for a strain that's perfect for me I'll give the mother to a mate so he can flower it and then I'll start growing the mother for the next strain I want to try out. Thanks for all the help guys!! @Adansonia digitata @Prom @CreX @PsyCLown @GGG @Twix Aphen

  11. Week 2 Mini Update Things are looking good still, I haven’t changed anything really. The hydro girls have dropped little roots so things should be happening soon. Organic girl is also just chillin' doing her thing.

  12. yeah I read up alot on it and it has some amazing results in the farming sector. So i thought why not try. And all I can say is Wow!!

  13. A perpetual grow with dedicated veg and flower, then using cuttings will always be the quickest way to get multiple harvests and has the potential to lead to the biggest harvests per tent as you are running the exact same plant again - so if its a plant which yields well it should be consistently yielding well. Growing from seed will open you up to the lucky packet of phenos and variances, so yield may not always be the same. I prefer working with cuttings as opposed to seeds, by the time the seed has grown to the size of a rooted cutting, it's about the same period of time (if not more) than it would to have taken the cutting and had it root. It is possible for a cutting to provide a larger plant in a shorter period of time but this would vary a bit as well. Make a DIY grow area to keep a mother for now, take cuttings, root them and grow them out.

  14. Thanks for the tag @John A My foliar intervals is daily Monday- Friday. Weekend they get no spray as I'm so busy I hardly enter the grow room. My experience with Epsom only came about January this year. After having a friend battle with yellow plants, he tried epsom, and in 5days his plants looked brand new. I tested it on my healthy plants and holy moses of treetrucks was I shocked. - Whoever hasn't tried it, don't be skrik just read the box and you'll be sold. For sprays I use the following, at absolutely random intervals, they all do good and I don't claim to have a scientific recipe for success. I also spray to a soaking wet degree. - Cannaleaf FPJ - Indigenous Micro Organism (self made) - Banana/Mango FPJ - Fulvic (no idea what it does, just that plants love it) - Epsom obvs - ExploGrow, added into every single mix. - Plain water some days to "clean" the leaves off For IPM - Neem Oil - Gets Sprayed every 2nd or 3rd mix I spray after work as I've learnt spraying in the morning makes the leaves burn. Lights needs to be on for a good couple of hours before spraying. My spraycan of preference is the 750ml types, lekker small and easy to get in all nooks and crannys. One full can lasts about 2-3days of spray. *I don't measure PPM, Dosages or anything. Breaking head over Dilution ratios and milliliters is not my type of disco. I feel the room, be the room, vibe the room.

  15. Now that I see an actual reading on the temps in the cabinet all I can say is if you don't have a thermometer, get one. Realizing my main reasons for not having successful indoor grows was not understanding the environment control. Learning very fast. Thanks dudes. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk

  16. fastest to the next harvest yes...but not at all faster and more efficient than using cuttings... sure...the initial work will take longer... but subsequent harvests will be much much faster... first harvest may take 6 months to get to... but thereafter you are set up to do a harvest every 2.5 months when you say 9 clones at the end of flower, do you mean to only take cuttings at the end of flower? because that will cost you months of work with revegging and training effort. take cuttings before the plants go into flower, not during

  18. What helps in the winter is sucking air in from the top and catching the hot air from the lights and then the outlet at the bottom , I usually change intake from bottom (summer) and then top in winter 2-5 degrees helps with no extra cost Sent from my Hisense Infinity H50 using Tapatalk

  19. that spontaneous moves are always exciting hahaha..... ill be staring at my plants for 30 min, and then BAM i have topped everything in a wild flurry in a matter of minutes hahaha i have topped both my ladies so far a few days ago, i should have 4 nice colas shortly hehe

  20. I don't want them to waste energy on branches I remove anyhow ^^ But yes, I actually wanted to just cut the new grown branches.. next snip will be the main.. thinking when to do it... might just be a spontaneous action I still have 3 weeks veg.. I might go full mainlining on Sisa. No risk, no fun

  21. Harvest in total more, yes.. but time you used to get to that harvest is a lot longer. Raising the mother, then take 9 clones and finish those clones.. takes a few weeks on top of the seed grown plant. If you want to increase harvest, learn the strain you want to grow on regular interval. It isn't to difficult to reach over 2g/watt even with LED lights. You just need to learn what the plants like and what they hate. If you do not care about phenos, get Regular seeds, make your own seeds, feminize them.. and drop 9 each time to fill your tent. That is the fastest way to produce loads with one tent.

  22. Use the 5lt pump sprayers, works better outdoors and is more versatile than the smaller handheld ones. The wand helps getting in everywhere. My GM is almost 3yrs old and going strong. Mostly using my sprayer for IPM but have Calmag and Epsom for defs, monthly maintenance via the roots. Chilli garlic onion for aphids/whitefly Tomato leaf alkaloid for spidermites Margaret R for worms Couldnt find coppersoap locally, got sorted online. Noticed a few spots of wpm during defol. Next on the cards.

  23. This is quite a nugget. The amount of scientist who have done this study never seizes to amaze me... Just the dosage and frequency of application was the big ticket in many cases. First obviously nutritional integrity needed to be upheld in all plants. The ratios are all very similar it seems, Humic and fulvic for the intermediate chelation of all elements, and then kelp offering all the essential trace and some macro minerals, not forgetting all of the plant hormones. So many of cases found lower doses and higher frequencies worked best, but i'm in 2 minds about this, and quite intrigued at the fortnightly example you gave. Definitely worth trying. I feel like there is something to it.

  36. Looking very cool man. I see you did a full on lollipop on all the ladies. I would throw a number out of between 10 to 15 grams dry trim weight per plant. So all in all between 160 and 200 grams I would guestimate... I enjoyed following your grow. Went a lot faster than a Baobab

  39. It might have been caused by tension on the cable, causing the terminals to “arc” and build up heat, melting the plastic. Once the plastic looses shape, as it melts, the terminals can move apart to the point where the distance is too far for the power to arc and it just breaks contact. If you are buying a new IEC (Kettle Plug cable) you can get really long ones, like two meters or more. You can also make one up with components from a radio shop. Some pro audio equipment makes use of “Powercon” connectors which twist and click so they can’t pull out (just some useless info) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  42. For the bugs I use neem oil and garlic alternately. I have that Spinosad too, but I only use it if there are thrips around. Clones get two seperate sprays of kelpak 0.5 ml and amino mix 0.25 ml while they are rooting. The bigger plants have had a single spray of fish mix and that was 2 ml per litre.

  43. I don't like to spray my plants with anything as it makes my tent dirty. They get a spray of pyrol when they done in the veg tent before they go into the flower tent but hey that's just me

  45. +1 for the soil being too hot Bit of a tricky situation as those plants don't look like they'll handle the heavy moisture from a flush well but on the other hand the moisture will help the soil break down better. Just cannabis is meant to be a "soil" so flushing it isn't guaranteed to solve the issue. Not as straight forward as flushing salts out. I would seriously consider getting those plants out of that soil into something more reliable like FF soil. It's drastic, but could save your plants

  46. LOL if only everything was fixed with MGSO4. @DamDavei dont think thats the case this time... the plants are tiny and should still be able to feed themselves still if no other nutes were added yet... i think there are issues with the root zone... potentially too hot soil. the Jo Ma se soil right? the pics of other plants on 17 days show growing ladies so i do think you need to fix this, and soon unfortunately, i dont think any amount of epsom will fix this problem
    2 points
  47. If your soil is wet and the plants are still building a root zone, I really wouldn't suggest flushing the soil bud. I'm having the same problem in such a big container, the soil does not dry up easy so overwatering is always a risk. Only once a the plants have a nicely developed root system will they be able to take a flushing, or further stunting could be on the cards.

  48. My number 1 goal is to get more yield per seed, so surely 9 clones at the end of flower would harvest more than 1 plant from seed?
