Day 31 Pics taken last night Pace of growth picking up nicely. Bit of a stretch going on for #2.... Otherwise growth is nice and healthy at the moment. The plants tend to come out more yellow in the pics. They are greener to the naked eye. The spectrum of the bulb and colour correction on the phone seems to cause this7 points

Good morning Lettuce get to business. No need to dawdle with seedlings and veg, we're going straight into preflower on this one. To fillup the tent, I am also running 1x Wedding Cake [ @1000Hills Nursery] and 1x Choc Gelato thanks to @Cannabist I also have 5x Zkittlez x Purple Punch clones from a mother from a previous run like this one, these are to fill the tent further and provide a reference to the height I've been choosing my plant. Thus far with the clones I've managed to get them pretty consistent in height. 18 April the seedlings were repotted into their initial pots and went into veg. Flip was done on the 1st June, so we are a week+ into preflower currently. Pistols are blooming nicely on the daily. The aromas are just beginning to change to that familiar skunky funky. I began with 10 Regular Tortoni beans and ended with 4 males, 1 weak sauce Betty, and 5 sturdy females. The objective at this point is to choose one based off of whatever is the ultimate consensus of this thread. This will then be my latest addition to what will be my stable of strains. Seeing as we are doing the growoff with the feminised beans it will be shap to see the result of the regular females. Also, I want the blessings and knowledge of our papa @Totemic The plants are in order of the Tortoni's from left to right, then the additional plants. I have also taken the current heights of the plants from the base of the medium to the top of the plant. I've attempted my best to keep all the pots at the same level T#10 - 70cm T#5 - 51cm T#10+5 T#9 - 90cm T#5+9 T#6 - 87cm T#8 - 95cm ZxP - 78cm Wedding Cake + Choc Gelato - Realised I didn't measure lawl Overview I've kept everything pretty vanilla. I am slowly increasing on the light power as the plants begin to progress through preflower. Coco/Perlite 70/30 Gold Label in 17L Dirt Pots (basically thin ass fabric pots. Results vary). Terra (GHE) Aquatica nutrients. I've kept to the standard dosage as described on the bottle. I have also added a Silicon product for the duration of veg. I had a small scare with thrips but after looking around I had only found one little bugger. Three leaves had the usual silver streaky lines but it appears nothing is yikes, all lower leaves. I'm keeping a lookout. I went for a pretty standard trim on the majority of the plants. I took much of the early stems off by the flip but they just blasted in the last week and a half. I have kept conditions at a toasty 22C using a automated panel heater. It's been kak cold outside, jirre. The Wedding Cake has presented itself as quite a thirsty one, it's either a light green plant by nature or she's thirsty. I have her cloned so we can give that one another proper go with some more juice. Otherwise all the other plants are powering on. It's yo boi6 points

It's true, I did call this person "a know it all aggressive cunt" right after he called me a "dense fuck" in an exchange we had at the end of April 2021. I've done my best to steer clear of his mushroom topic and pretty much every bit of information he gives because of that exchange. If further information pertaining to that exchange is needed we can discuss this with the greatest pleasure. I will happily play open cards, I don't feel it's necessary though as it's unrelated, and not even about cannabis. My information source for this grow all came from Greg Greens Cannabis grow Bible 3rd edition. The sole purpose of this was to get away from the nets plethora of conflicting views and opinions, and have a single reputed source as guidance. The Bible is very comprehensive and as a 3rd edition one would think the information is legit. After all, the author has put himself on the line by publishing hard copy content years before legalization. I understand there is a fourth edition, but it was not available in South Africa when I was looking for a book. Page 305 discusses SOG(sea of green) "A SOG can be any size but must maintain the same basic shape and follow certain SOG rules. In SOG grows you want to have one plant per square foot maximum, or even one plant per 0.1 square feet in a very compact set ups..." Please see below, I don't want to type the whole paragraph out. My grow was 1m² floor space(10.73ft²) with 16 plants which fits the above parameters outlined in the text. I am aware that more plants would have given more yield, but yield was never priority. The objective was to use a different style of grow and test my ability to propagate healthy young plants in the same fashion as a commercial grow(see my post on 22 April). I don't believe a SOG has been documented to this extent on the forum. If you can find one, please post a link. This person has manipulated and omitted facts of what went on in the dm's of 29th April in an attempt to take the moral high ground. He has displayed the classic narcissistic behavior traits, and then enforced the fact with his continued posting on this thread(last post, LOL!), as well as the thread about hardening off clones. I hope you are all seeing what's being hidden behind this persons mask. Incase you are not aware of what an NPD is about, here's a little google copy pasta, and a link for further reading. Narcissistic personality disorder involves a pattern of self-centered, arrogant thinking and behavior, a lack of empathy and consideration for other people, and an excessive need for admiration. Others often describe people with NPD as cocky, manipulative, selfish, patronizing, and demanding. Further reading https://www.helpguide.org/articles/mental-disorders/narcissistic-personality-disorder.htm#:~:text=Narcissistic personality disorder involves a,selfish%2C patronizing%2C and demanding. Thanks to those of you who followed my grow and gave input along the way. Not the ending I was hoping for, but I think there is value in what has gone down, even if its only NPD awareness. Plants were harvested last night, Dry bud shots and the final trimmed yield will be shared when the time comes. Now I'm going to smoke a fat Slurricane bat, and run 21km in the dark. Till the next grow, peas.4 points

Snipped the ladies last night. Wasn't sure how to upload a video here so forgive me for this but it shows how I did it. The first 8 hours post-snip: Behind the scenes of a grow journal:3 points

Ah man seems my driver reached end of it's life, now I can't flower with my 3x vero setup which is v concerning. Will need to borrow one from a friend but they are not friendly when comes to loaning drivers! Ended up connecting the blue and red spectrum with a small driver I have here.... Will see how plants react to the new spectrum, if they smaak I leave it.1 point

honestly I can already say I will never have anything "nice" to say to this guy, so I will do him a favour and not let his words get to me anymore. I am done wasting time and energy on this1 point

I can sort of understand how things may have gone pear shaped. Me for example have difficulty explaining myself in writing. I come across as a blunt prick which I am some times but if you know me you would not be offended. Most of the heated threads I've read on this forum have started from one person's understanding versus the next and hey, debate is good but people need to live and learn and move forward with positivity and knowledge. Saying that, I have also seen members arguing come to a consensus by the end of most threads. Keep the good vibes going all. Fuck, we need it during these tough times. To give someone advice is one thing.. Raining on their parade, a whole diferent story.. Give advice in a manner that's not offending.. If you want to be a ass about it go do it on face book.. Maybe get a club for wize asses and know it alls and keep the snotty and degrading remarks for your club.. If you have issues with frustration or you are just unable to mind your manners, maybe smoke more of the dank ass shit you grow and chill the fuck out...1 point

Dude! This is one of the reasons I joined this forum over others. I spent close onto a year silently following. I would Google shite, cross reference shite, look for other sites to cross reference shite and then 420 search for opinions and actual experience. If someone doesn't want advice and claims the sky is clear when it's overcast, their loss. Look, listen, steal with your eyes and take in all info even if you don't agree, catalogue then decide on your next move, that's my approach. Keep up the good threads man, I for one am learning tons. Evening growmies. Hope you staying safe and coping with eishkom.. Nr 1 got topped and 2 fimmed today and they received their first feed. From now on only a weekly update will be given. I think most of the seedling worries is behind us and vege stage is well under way.. I just hope I get the growth I want before the flip.. Have a blazed weekend and stay safe..1 point

An email was sent to you on on Tuesday.... however it's not up to us to chase up on you to update your diaries bud. You enter this competition acknowledging the rules and what is expected of you in terms of diary updates. We'll only reach out to you by email if we receive no communication from you before disqualification. Warnings are only provided here in your diaries. Did you read the rules before entering or at any point? You may, big emphasis on "may", be allowed back into this competion based on lack of awareness of rules but we'd need to get a consensus from the other contestants. Your diary leaves a lot of questions to be answered at the moment and I'm sorry but a dodgy internet connection really isn't a decent enough excuse when you're talking about updating us once a week, as is required. You have to let us know in some way. You're coming back to us 2 weeks after your previous update. Not trying to be harsh on you for the sake of it, these are the rules that everyone else has accepted.1 point

Here is some of the plants I still have going. First one is White Wedding from Ethos. Then there is 2 pics of the Strawpicana from Oni Seeds and the last pic is of the Deluxe Sugarcane pheno I found and liked. First day of flower today. I like her flowering time and minty terps. She was severely topped and got a bit to big.1 point

Kicking out the runt can't deal looking at it anymore, I've thrown her into my mothering tent so she can continue growing, just out of sight. *This grow off is v well structured and fair compared to other jut ones I've seen being launched around. 420SA shall stay the only cannabis cup worth competing in in my books! @TotemicThere's a lekker difference in the plants now vs round 1, really keen to flip these lady's!1 point

Looks like the 3rd seed never popped. So only 2 beautiful ones are growing.1 point

Didn't document the runt being transplanted as she's not gonna be receiving too much spotlight. - Skieming to spray het with a dunkload of Epsom what your reckon? Purple Aunt is going very short & busy, not sure if I approve or not. Green Aunty is going luscious, but also a bit stocky. Will be setting up the actual light this weekend, it'll bring the stretch I'm looking for.1 point

Slight adjustments made thus the early update. I've tucked some of the top big leaves underneath the bottom leaves, this way the plant doesn't lose any solar panels and still has the ability to get light on the shady areas. Started doing the tuck as plucking a girl naked just doesn't resonate with me. I like my branches full of solar panels, I'll move and tuck em as need be. *check my humidity ranges, gotta love Richards-bay!1 point

LM281 - Around 80% of the efficiency compared to the LM301 diodes apparently. LM561C - old, a little less efficient compared to the LM301 but still a good diode. Probably won't find stock anymore due to its age. (5.6mm x 3.6mm) LM301B/H - Great, this is the standard for grow light diodes now. A little more efficient compared to the LM561C and the LM281.1 point

Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you, the twins, the stunners the growing goddesses themselves! Will be naming them after work when each has their own pot. 25liter Pots from Afribloom, Richards-bay's best Agricultural Shop. Soil: Aqua Terra from GHE mixed with Earth Worm Castings. (yes, I previously said I'm not adding EWC and look at me now)1 point

it appears that to some "growing a plant" is WAAAAAAAAYYYY less cooler and damaging to ones ego than doing a SOG.0 points
