Day 34 #2 and #3 have really put on a stretch and I don't really know why to be honest. The top coincided with a change of bulb from 250w to 400w so perhaps the 400w bulb isn't so lekker. I'm in 2 minds on whether to change back to the 250w or not Decided to do a bit of supercropping on the stretched plants to help manage the stretch This is another hobby of mine. Homebrewing beer. Below is an Irish Stout I've been working on. Much like with weed, once you enjoy a well made homebrew, very few commercial examples can compare I must say I've seen some really good looking plants in the other diaries. Really looking forward to seeing what happens in the next chapter of this growoff!9 points

@PsyCLown thanx for the heads up man. It's been a couple of crazy weeks. So currently we are on day 14 since the flip to flower. Some of the ladies have started stretching real nice. I made some notes on the height prior to flip so will be interesting to see which lady wins the race. Some of the ladies are already starting to show some nice bud sites and starting to push pistils while others are taking their time. I did a minor defoliation on the mothers and this should be enough for the final flowering stage (might trim a little here and there as the stretch settles) I also didn't defoliate the Bubblegum again as I like the current look.. All and all happy with the current situation and hoping that the rest of the flowering period will go on incident free. Twisted Helix GSC Palomino Tortoni #1 Tortoni #2 Bubblegum Tent View8 points

Goooood morning Tortoni caretakers. After top and fun I got rid of some fan leaves to promote growth lower down , pinched just below top node also . Girls got 1 feeding and a SST in the last week . Transplanted into 15L pots with amended old soil, mixed FF Premium/Amended soil and just FF Premium Classic (Green bag) last night . Another 2-3 weeks to settle and of we go .6 points

Hello Family, The time has come... Finally putting down the details, and logging the grow from the go. June 14th (18:00pm) Just planted, straight into the Glue Plugs, holding thumbs. Plain water, and into the dome with a heat mat and thermostat, set at 25deg. Pictured here are the strains as they appear below. Left to Right, then Back to Front. The Plug: Baklava Barney's Farm: Gorilla Zkittlez Sannies: Sugarpunch OSG: Cheese (from @Golden-Goose) Sannies: Herijuana Royal Queen: Critical I sure hope that you will follow along, and that I can do these strains proud, as well as make some entertaining reading and pretty pictures. Hey Family, So some of you may know I have dabbled in breeding before, albeit very small and private. Time has come, for me to do it full on I'll be Crossing, an Amnesia Cookies, that my partner and I have just Crossed and we have a male ready to go, which was an Amnesia Haze and Ethos Cookies Cross we did. I will update the list tomorrow of the girls that are currently having an orgy with our strain that we have named DonAsh, which is a dedication to someone who passed. These seeds, from this Cross and Breeding, will be given out as gifts on the forum for members to grow out, free. Trooper5 points

Opened the tent after 2 days away and I could see I had some work to do. It was apparent that my res solution needed to be changed and upp'ed a level and that Ms Organic needed a bigger pot. Hungry ladies: I also noticed some funky growth on some of the leaves. T1 (right) had a an extra blade on one of the 5 finger leaves giving her 6 fingers and T2 (left) had a webbed duckfoot on one of her 3 finger leaves. T1's extra finger: T2's webbed duck foot: Things escalated from there pretty quickly , when I looked again I had topped T2, removed the weird growth and cleaned her up. This is an early topping for me but she looks vigorous enough to pull through quickly. Transplanted Ms Organic into her final pot: After a few hours, the girls got their colour back and were looking much happier: I'm still not too sure how I'm going to approach the training but if I stare at them long enough I'm sure it'll come to me5 points

Calcium and sulphur fall out of suspension when you mix them. The white precipitate is gypsum. Cal mag is mixture of calcium nitrate and magnesium nitrate. There's no Epsom salts in calmag.3 points

Cool that someone actually did this, although as you said results can be skewed on purpose or accidentally. We all know THC is affected by how mature the trichomes are, leaving the plant for longer means more time for the trichomes to mature. I also wonder how much THC would differ between different buds from the same plant where it was all harvested at the same time? To do a test like this and do it accurately would be a bit tricky and require lots of lab tests to look for consistency I feel. As you said, multiple of the same cuttings grown together and simply harvested at different times and with multiple strains and then multiple buds from each plant harvested at different times. Wouldn't be a cheap test to do either - depending on what lab tests you do. The terps seem to consistently drop though with the dark period. So if one is after terps, the darkness period isn't for you it seems.3 points

@CreX Just for you brother The leaves gets tucked each morning before work and again after work, I tuck in such a way that the bottom nodes are exposed to light. Tried taking this shot best I could, but you can more or less follow each branch and see they are happily climbing to the top. Also turning the pots every few days to try and keep uniformity.3 points

Hi My lady looks healthy, not fed her again this week, my grow bag is still heavy and moisty. I've kept my temp between 22.5 and 26.5 and the humidity between 50 and 80% and the light cycle 20 on and 4 off, the 4 hours off is between 10h00 and 14h00.3 points

We know this topic all too well, it has always been a back and forth and never really coming to any conclusion as there has never been any real big time studies done on it... so I found this video. click on the link it will take you to the YT page. If you're not redirected to the video, it's by Lost Leaf and it's called Darkness Before Harvest Lab Results. One thing I find note worthy, if you harvest a plant in sections you're potentially just giving parts of the plant longer life than the rest and you will obviously have different results. A more accurate analysis would be data from seperate plants, clones from same mother and all with same profiles, all harvested on the same day, but with one recieving normal 12/12 till harvest day. one with 24hr darkness. one with 48hr darkness and one with 72hr darkness. and this needs to be done with atleast a few different genetics2 points

Most certainly is the bulb, 2 years is a long time for an HPS bulb. As @Pants said typically a bulb would be changed out after 12 months at the most. Another reason to consider LED.2 points

"Exodus Collective was a community collective and sound system formed in 1992" I think he's giving you a story, because the cuttings given out from exodus were all crosses they made with the cheese. "Nelly" was their NL/Cheese cross, for example. They are fantastic breeders and Nibiru is a lucky guy. I'm excited about the big Buddha plants I have, but time will tell. I know that the cheese that came to Cape Town, way back when, was in seed form. The grower had 2 seeds and the one female was what spread like wildfire around town. There were already 2 seedbanks selling cheese pips, before it came down this way. Homegrown fantaseeds were the first and then Big Buddha won a prize at the cannabis cup, in 2005. Any stories of original exodus clones in Cape Town should be taken with a massive pinch of salt.2 points

I'm not a huge fan of cheese, although I do like super skunk and one of my all time favourite crosses is Exodus Kush from DNA. My cut leans more to the OG side though. I once sampled some cheese that smelt like stale feet and cheese curls. It was rank! So unfortunately I'm no expert on a proper cheese. I know it should be smelly, and not sweet. I'm confident in OSG though. If he says he used an 87 Exo cut then I believe him. Happy hunting bro!2 points

@MrE Argh so annoying. I let mine rest on the Scrog so that the pieces were still touching and left it. It recovered within a week. @GGG2 points

Correct, my understanding is that he is adding Epsom, for the benefit of the Magnesium, not the sulfate. Thanks for adding to the explanation and helping the understanding.2 points
-
Just a question, not knocking. Why would you mix Epsom salts, with CalMag? Since the latter is a mix of the 2, you already have Magnesium in the Calcium mix. Though I agree with your comment of them causing precipitation, there seems to be some missing information and a good discussion possibly.2 points

I also agree tucking fans is the best approach if you are pushed for time. Plants take 3 ti 4 days to recover from removing fans.2 points

I decided to test the sts pray out on that middle purple glam kush and she really did not like it. It burned her pretty badly. I'm reconsidering going in that direction. I sprayed her away from the others and waited till she was dry before putting her back. Maybe reduce the sts dose? Im also running low on pollen, removing the males that early was a mistake. If i see her reversing i will remove her from this tent. Seeds forming on every plant except the 2 pineapple expresses and the middle pgk.2 points

So these lovely ladies were transplanted on Friday They had a nice feeding and then I topped them a day later. So some decent stress on them. I am going to give them a nice feeding again shortly. I transplanted two of them into the 2 odd litre pot. And then another into a 10l fabric. The roots looked great, bit of spinning already, but a healthy system none the less. The 2l pots I am hoping will last until it is time to flip. But it should work out nicely to transplant in 2 weeks, give a week to recover and then flip to flower. The reason for putting one in a different pot is purely experimental. I will most likely not repot it before flower (I usually ALWAYS repot before flower). It will be interesting to see the growth difference.2 points

i have a dislike for the granule calmag mixes... they are mixed not mixed in a 1:1 ratio more like a 5:3 ratio, but using the scoop to measure out always leads to the incorrect ratio of calmag. that's why i prefer the liquid calmag... but it is a lot pricier than the granules. or even a hybrid approach where the calcuim nitrate is separate from the magnesium sulphate and you can add them separately or together in the correct ratios which is 2:1, two parts calcuim nitrate, one part magnesium sulphate1 point
