  2. Day 41 Plants are starting to get a bit miffy with me and starting to droop somewhat. Usually a sign for me that they want their new pot which puts me in a bit of a predicament.... I've been trying to source Lithuanian peat moss in bulk since early May for the soil mix that will see these plants through flower but the supplier has been delaying with excuse after excuse for non delivery. After a combination of waiting too long and procrastination, I decided to use a blend of coco and protek peat moss from builders and only mixed the soil last Wednesday. Which means this soil is undercooked and I'm worried about getting these plants into the soil even sooner than anticipated. This soil needs a month to cook, which I obviously wouldn't have had enough time for anyway. On the other hand I have been okay in the past when getting plants into the soil too soon, so we'll see.... Gonna try push transplant till Wednesday or Thursday. Otherwise I'm happy with the progress of growth coming up to the flip deadline Base of the soil mix pictured below ( Perlite, EWC, Coco & Protek Peat Moss) This got mixed together and then amendments were added. .

  4. Update, survivor is going great now that the medium has been rinsed well, and I also tied her down. Ec is set at 0.7 and Ph 5.5. A bit miffed that I messed this grow up to be honest, but she is pulling along. Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk

  6. Day 37 Plants seem to be enjoying it in their new and final home. 2 weeks of veg left, grow grow grow! I was going to use neem oil but decided to opt for Buddi All rounder spray as a preventative measure for bugs+fungi- can't say I've used it before but wanted something where I don't risk getting ratios wrong as I only need a small quantity per application. I have also sprinkled a bit of diatomaceous earth around the base of the plant. Temp+Humidity sensor moved with the plants to this tent, you can see how this tent is warmer (presumably mostly due to the bigger light) since the move on 16 June. @iGrowDagga there's the divergence you were talking about #1 and #3 pulling ahead of #2

  7. Good day folks. So the flowering cycle is now in full swing and I can see several bud sites popping up all over the place. Currently sitting on day 20. I really do like the flowering stage so much as you can see a lot of progression within the space of a week. All the ladies have shown quite a good stretch and I am sure there is still more stretch left in them. Between the 2 Tortoni's the one I popped last is actually stretching and growing bigger than the 1st Tortoni seed that was popped. So Tortoni #2 is actually catching up to the tallest lady in the tent, the Twisted Helix... The one thing that REALLY excites me at the moment is the Twisted Helix.. I am already starting to see sprinkles of tricome on the bud sites. I haven't had a strain before that expressed such early tricome development so this is getting me real giddy. All the other ladies are also looking stellar and will soon start introducing TopMax to the feeding regiment. Palomino GSC Twisted Helix Bubblegum Tortoni #2 Tortoni #1 Tent front view Tent side view

  8. I took all that was on the cam and cut it together. Rest of 18/6. Next movies are 12/12 light cycle. As usual... Youtube will age restrict the long version.. but they don't age restrict the short versions.. selective GESTAPO behavior. I wrote them that home growing is legal in South Africa. And as long as you do not consume the plant, you can for sure watch the plant grow, even you are under age.. ehhh.. annoying. So sorry for the black page of the unlisted video.. only visible over this link here. @420SA no option to add a video addon to the running software? ^^ Or you have a different option to add videos, not using Youtube?

  9. Hi everyone My update for the last week: Topping done on 16/6, ON 18/6 I found her the morning with drooping/hanging leaves, fed her later that day at 400ppm and she looked much better on 20/6. Bend the main stem 20/6 and she is already up/ straight this morning 22/6 but a bit light in color ?? . Good luck for the week!!

  12. What an interesting few months it has been. The culmination of 1 year of pushing totemic as an official brand in SA, I have distributed a little over 45 000 seeds, 15 000 regulars and 30 000 feminized seeds. I feel it is important for me to share this with other local breeders not at all to flex as some are assuming, but to illustrate how big the local industry is, how big the need is, and how much of our economy is still flowing out to the international market. I feel I'm drowning and can't keep up with the market! I'm not here to compete with other local breeders. Breed your fire. Let's grow this industry together.

  16. This is awesome news to read and many congratulations. I went to a nursery the other day which was recommended by@Stinger96 , just went to browse and see what they stock. Apart from the wonderful guy and lady that owns / works at the place, the abundance of amendments and nutrients etc I also saw a cabinet with your seeds in which could be bought right there and then. Was really refreshing to see. Keep up the good work and thanks for always sharing your knowledge.

  19. Week 4 Update / Veg Week 3 It's been a week of some seriously explosive growth, each of these ladies have their own personalities. T1 (Alyssa) is explosive, man her growth is insane. T2 (Amy) is short and bushy, although reserved, she's been putting on the weight on those thick stems of hers. T3 (Janis) AKA Ms Organic is elegant and poised growing with perfect structure and spacing, I'm thinking of growing her out naturally with little to no training. The girls in hydro got a res change in the beginning of the week and they are getting the 3 part feed and a weekly inoc of Environoc401. Their EC is at 1.1 and PH is at 5.9. They have both been topped and I'm busy training the branches outwards away from the middle. Ms Organic got a soaking of rainwater mixed with ProOrganic and Environoc and has been responding really well to her new pot. T1 - Alyssa Start of training: Current top view: Internal structure: Massive fan leaves, this fan leaf was the one I thought had an extra finger, turns out the finger was in fact a duck foot (webbed) when it had grown out. I had a similar leaf on the other plant: T2 - Amy Start of training: Current top view: Internal structure: T3 - Janis Top view: Internal structure:

  20. After a few years of absence on the forums i felt I had to come back and give credit where credit is due. Totemic is truely bringing us fire genetics. Plants cultivated outdoors in winter I have had the chance now to test a lot of fem seeds by totemic lately and will bring my review on the other strains once the go into flower . For now I will speak about chocolate Gelato x slurricane Fems which I found contain a 99% successful female rate This cross is extreamly resistant to mildew with 13% showing signs of mildew , bare in mind it's winter. They are also exteamly pest resistant and had no issues with pests. There are roughly 9 phenotypes but that can be expected with them being S1. There's a good mix of sativa and indica dominant phenos . Whilst I do not normally enjoy sativa dominant phenos as a fair majority contain alpha pinene which is one terpine I really dislike flavour wise , I am finding the sativa dominant phenos are carrying high levels of mercene which is my favorite terpine and usually found mainly in indica dominant. Most of the plants are carrying the terpine profile of slurricane .There is one pheno occurring at a 8% rate that is a lower yielder which is the only drawback I found whilst not a big one as quality is on point . I also had a 1% mutant rate. I had a germination rate of 93%. I have spent a lot of money on imported genetics and I can honesly say that totemic brings us fire . I personally won't be cultivating imported genetics for a while . There is a noticeable difference in the way the plants handle our climate over imported genetics . Breede locally for our climate and putting our money back into our local community . Love what you doing totemic and keep it up. Ps I am not a tester for totemic I am just a guy that wanted to give them a go and was extreamly happy and they went way above my expectations

  21. Wel the F1 is definately potent enough for me.. Im exited about the f2 and will concentrate on getting a more smelly pheno to cross with.. It's almost where I would like it but not yet.. The reject f2's are comming allong great and is grown outdoors.. They are purely for testing and only stand outs will be kept. The good seed will be kept for germination end of next month..

  22. Should have seen the plants that i had to throw away. 10 times worse Trimmed affected leaves, then I santized using SAN-O-AGRI. And followed with Efekto Insect Control. Regarding the the silicon. Im doing A in Res, wait 5 mins and then B in Res wait 5 mins and then Adding Silicon drop by drop. I found that if u add more that 5ml silicon at a time theres a residue/precipitate/sediment forming. Also if you adding silicon straight after ph down same thing is happening. So i just do it drop by drop. It takes hella long. So I have extra buckets were i prep the res and then i just swap the plant and lid onto new bucket.

  23. So, these lovely ladies are on their way to recovery. One is doing a little worse than the other two (the smaller one). The topping seems to have gone well. Still dipping a little, but I have been watering a little more. Going to be backing off the next few days. But they are looking green and healthy. 2 photos from Wednesday, and the rest from today.

  24. Took the runt girl out for a picture. Some worthy mentions of her is, she's extremely soft, I hardly touched her and the stem snapped right off. Removed one leaf and felt more like water than stem Anywho, I'm really keen to see her flower as something is just intriguing in her, she's catching my attention.

  26. Day 36. Short of the two week mark until flip to flower I decided what the heck. I entered the comp to learn and learn I will. T1 got a FIMM. T2 got a Topping. T3 got LST bent 90°. Temps min. 18 max. 28 RH min. 29 max. 70 Seem to have sorted out the soil by adding perlite. I have a feeling I need to cut some fan leaves off T1 and T2. Can I get confirmation on this please.

  27. She's been through some trauma, but nothing can stop The One. She should grow quite vigorously from this point on. LST is now in full affect. I want to trim the second nodes on either side and then top again. I want to see how big of a 8 cola manifold I can get. We're doing the Groot hand again y'knowah'mean?

  28. This last year or two has been challenging and interesting. I have been the topic of both good and bad conversations. Realizing that it is because people generally don't know who I am, is why it has been such a multi polar experience. I started growing 10 years ago, fumbled around with bags seeds for a year or two, before gaining access to other imported genetics. What started me on my breeding journey was when I was given the Chocolope seeds from DNA genetics by another well known growmie back in 2013, who has undoubtedly touched all your lives in some way or another. I have since bred a few strains over the years, and established a rythem within the micro-breeding sector. The state of Cannabis back then was still rough, and most of my work had to be low key, and there are a few of the OG's on here that have been following what I have been doing. Even now I keep a lot of what I do low key, and within the reasonable limits that prevail. I am a father to two teenage boys, husband to a beautiful wife, and earn my living in the property maintenance sector. Cannabis is my passion though, and where all the extra time in my life pours into, and over the last 2 years I have been gravitating toward a full-time commitment. Sharing this through my seeds, my activism, is part of my drive to free the plant. Doing this has inadvertently thrust me into the public. A place I'm not yet used to or comfortable in as I'm generally a private person. However, I thought it a good place to treat this thread as a Q&A about my breeding. Here are a few that have have already recently popped up: Q: Where do you get your seeds? A: I do all my own pollination, and produce my own seeds. The plants I breed with are selected cuts from the original breeders seed stock and my own seed stock. Q: How do you manage to pheno hunt with so few plants? A: My pheno hunting spans across many growers tents, gardens and farm spaces, besides my own space. Q: Do you sell other peoples work/gear and pass it off as your own? A: No. I see myself as an ethical breeder. I am transparent about the genetics I work with, and credit the original breeder and their work. Q: Do you have any autos? A: No. Although there is a demand for them, to protect the photoperiod genetics I work with, I will not be working with autos at all into the foreseeable future. EDIT: I have since this actually started working on a few autoflower crosses, since making major changes to my setup. Q: Why are your prices so low? A: We are at an automatic disadvantage with our poor exchange rate when importing seeds. This makes it inaccessible to many more than you think. Part of my mission is to make good quality genetics available at prices everyone can afford. So, what do you want to know?

  29. Wel with the new home for the Tortoni girls I desided to take up some more space with a few of Totemic's ginetics and some seed gifted to me by @SkunkPharm.. Germinated some Grape Gorilla x2, Chockolate Gelato x3, Double Sunsetx3, Dream Queen Reg x10 and DQ x Slurri reg.. x6 The girls showed face yesterday in some Jiffies and was potted up into the FF Seed Starter.. They should also help me guage the DIY Light's intensity with regards to stretch.. The second DQ in the pot sprouted but needed assistance with his helmit..

  30. Thanks! What I tried last time was, silicone in the res for ~1 hour. Then A, then B, then pH down, then H2O2. Got sediment even like that. Over the weekend I did only A+B (diluted separately first in ~5L) and H2O2, and the water is looking cloudy to me today. Sigh... Next I'll try just A+B and see what that does. (Derailing your thread, I'll post this again on my update :) )

  41. It has been 7 days since these were transplanted and they have really grown nicely. Mondays feed has done them good. The next feed will be in about 10days time. They have just been getting water since then. And I will get some sticky traps today seeing some white spots from thrips. Thinking of switching then to flower 30th of June 1st of July. I will have to see how big they get but at this pace I think that will be the date.

  43. Yeah I am also not so happy with them the last week. Not looking as perky and growth not as good as the previous week. I have been hitting them harder than usual with nutes also, so I may just flush and see from there. Appreciate the concern though

  44. gaaaaah i cant man... i gotta say it again... there is something not lekker with your pH... even tho your range seems fine... there seems to be an issue. if anything i would say your ph is too high, i would adjust down a bit more, 5.6-6.0

  46. What's happing growmies, not much to report except this is the final week before the ladies get the chop 🗡 I have changed my light schedule down to 6/18 from the start of the week (testing a theory that 6/18 can produce more trichomes by tricking the plant into thinking its close to dying) will also follow up with 3 days of complete darkness... So Just a couple of bud shots, will have a more decent update of the ladies once we harvest Blue Dream: Aurora: PPP:

  47. Day 33 The 3 Tortonis have moved into the finishing tent and are now under the 340W lighting. Countdown is on... 17 days left to flip. Before putting the water tray of the tent back in after cleaning, I put some cardboard down underneath it, just to add some sort of insulation between the pots and the floor to try keep temp up. I plan on introducing neem oil this week as a preventative measure for nasty stuff. Just been watering with occasional activera or liquid gold microbes added.

  48. Thanks. Think it's got more to do with@Totemic genetics hey. Sure, I propagate and work with indigenous plants but looking over the grow threads one thing stands out. Just about everyone who had a kak start or some bad luck have had a good comeback with minimal effort. Sent from my LM-X210(G) using Tapatalk

  49. Day 32 if my math is correct. 11 days since the plants have been in smaller pots and roots started pushing out bottom of pots. Soil dried to a nice consistency and cinnamon powder added as I found wiggly worms that are definitely not earthworms. All 3 lights will be running from today so I'll be figuring out heights etc for the rest of the week. Training, still not sure if I should attempt it. Lack of experience the main problem. Water using borehole water ph 6.5 - 6.7. Spray a little Biogrow bioneem every 2 weeks or so from now on. Man. These plants have bounced back nicely.
