  1. Day 21 The view of the remaining 6 yesterday afternoon. Had them out of the tent for a good inspection. 2 more have been cut. No13, the outlier from the start is just a weak plant, while no11, is showing its hermie nature quite oddly, pushing growths along a fan leaf stem, but nevertheless has been cut. Wherever there is abnormal growth in that nodal area its a clear indication of the hermi trait. Even though those arrowed growths are showing only pistilate and not a single ball sack yet. So that leaves me with No1, 2, 5, and 6. Their side views. All virtually the same height at 70cm. No1 No2 No5 No6 And of course let's not forget the male. He is now reached his peak at 6 weeks of flower. I have been monitoring his development, deciding if I want his pollen. He produces copious amounts of pollen, pushing a fair amount of resin glands... Overall a lekker male. Something that many aren't doing. Don't grab the first pollen that your male gives. Grow him all the way out and check him out. As always I don't collect and use pollen, but always a live male, so he is joining the remaining 4 in the tent for only 2 days before going to reveg. That's more than enough time to ensure a full pollination. Wish I had a better camera to better capture some of his features I like. The view of the 4

  3. DAY 35 Sins there is about a week or 2 left or less before the flip to flower I have decided to take a chance and repot 2 of my gals. Hope the gamble plays off, didn't look like they had any shock during the re-potting, the Velcro makes it very easy to trance plant them Added about 10L of coco to the new pot (ph/nut), buff for the new soil to match as closely as possible to existing media to prevent fluctuations and shock. Haha there first time being outside Back in there tent happy again

  5. This is so exceptionally exciting and interesting to follow. It's really nice to see the train of thought of the breeder and I am learning so much. I am proud to be running your genetics and the folks I have given cuttings to are also very VERY happy. Well done man and thanx for sharing

  6. Okay! Definitely one plant is more exuberant than the other, no matter... I have trimmed off some more lower fan leaves and ones that go inward to the plant to expose lower growth. Some stems seemed to grow a bit faster than others, these I have pinched and rolled to slow down the growth for a few days to let the shorter stems catch up. Plants are happy and are not displaying any signs of stress or issues, it is smooth sailing for now Only 10 days left for them to do their things! They will be considerably smaller than other plants I usually put into flower, but I am hoping for the best, juiciest, most succulent flowers come harvest time

  7. Mid week update, the plants are doing well, put the blumat back on the bed, was going smoothly plants seems to be drinking steadily with little movement from res but today they gulped and the bed is super wet so I hope it’s done for now and I’m not running into issues. Layered a bit of oat hay for more surface coverage as the dicondrah didn’t sprout as rapidly as I would like. Don’t know how much space I’ll be left with in this format. I also topped T3 again, that makes up for the lost arm

  9. Update: All good on the seedlings, nothing else to say. Going to plant the Baklava tomorrow morning, roots showed this evening. I have installed a solar LED, manual switched for now, but helps when the power isn't available.

  10. Update on the ladies. I topped T1 and T2 on Sunday night. I think I'll let T3 just go with the flow. Both are looking good with no signs of stress after topping. These pics were taken at 7pm last night.

  14. Update: Week 6 of veg I'm finally starting to see good growth again, so I've just done the LST. The photos are from immediately after so everything is still bent down a bit from being pushed around. I'll take photos again in a few days. And yeah, hillbilly style with string and binders. I've found it easy to work with and adjust so good enough for me My biggest concern atm is what looks like precipitation in my res. I've never had issues before with hortimix so I'm not sure what I'm seeing that now. So far I've tried My original (flawed) way: A then B then silicon then pH with no delay between each. This is definitely the worst way What should work in theory: Silicone into the res for +1 hour, then A (diluted), the B (diluted) then pH For the second method I took out ~5L of water for each of the A + B before putting in the silicon, then added them in after the 1 hour wait. Always stirred really well, and air pump running 100% of the time. There was no cloudiness with the 2nd option at all, but it went cloudy after ~24 hours. Very strange... I have recently started adding H2O2 (thanks for asking & the concern @ExoticCannabis2021). I'v read some good things about a reasonably low dosage of H2O2 being generally beneficial so was giving that a try. I'm not convinced that its causing the precipitation issues but my next attempt is going to be only A+B and see what happens there. I've seen no signs of nutrient deficiency with these plants so all ok so far. But I do have a few other similar age ones that have one or two leaves starting to show signs of issues, so this is something I need to get sorted ASAP.

  15. Hi guys We're looking for more members to join our monthly comp voting panel. At the moment we have 7 panel members including myself. From time to time, certain panel members are absent from the forum and so we take a while to get the voting concluded. I have an idea of how to work around this but it involves getting at least another 5 panel members on board. Anyone willing to stick their hands up?

  16. It's already been enabled but we'll have to see how the host server handles the bandwidth once the feature is enabled. A few guys watching videos at the same time may be problematic so we'll have to see. Unfortunately this therefore means that your video may be removed if this doesn't work out. Just some important things to know: You'll need to ensure your file size is lower than the 300mb limit. The limit is there to manage the threat of bandwidth overload. This website will not compress videos on upload and you won't have the ability to select different video qualities to save on data. Don't expect the same level of performance like you have with YouTube etc. Loading times may be a slow at times. Accepted video file types are mp4, avi, 3GP, MOV and WMV

  18. A mate reminded me I should have the fans aimed at the canopy. Sometimes I overlook the most important things. I ended up defoliating selectively in order to maximize canopy surface area, aka a bit of both.

  21. Hey growers. My name is Rob and I'm an avid gardener from SA. My interests lie more in the 'alternative' gardening like hydroponics. I experiment with different and easier methods like kratky. I don't have a grow room as yet. My first grow last year was from an unknown seed which turned into a highly sedative cannabutter. My current grow is from the 'free' palomino seeds from the website in a kratky bucket with soluble nutrients from the nursery. I've been researching different methods on how to extract different cannabinoids on yt: thca, cbd, cbn for my partner's medical ailments to make a salve! Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  22. Hi @donnob, @SkunkPharm, @PsyCLown. Thanks for the advice. I'm testing the kratky method without aerating the water. It's said the exposed roots draws oxygen directly from the air. Whether it's enough or the same as aeration is another story. I'll be adding to my setup for my future grows as it's just a hobby at this stage so I'll def be asking for guidance!!

  27. Yeah just like growing, there are many ways to approach it with no right or wrong really. Some breeders collect and work with lots of pollen at the same time. It's real easy in my mind to loose track of particles that can't be seen singularly. So to avoid cross contamination I only work with one type of pollen in a 2 to 3 month period, or 4 to 6 males a year.

  33. Judging Criteria Plants are judged on their condition when the grower states they are finished, however other factors are considered in the process as well, such as: How consistent was the grow - minimal hiccups along the way How well the chosen training technique was executed Maximum utilization of light General good growing practices Plant Condition Judging Criteria Bud size and condition Plant colour Minimal burn Minimal leaf clawing Minimal leaf cupping Minimal pest infection Lack of deficiencies Number of bud sites No signs of stunting Plant size - this plays a roll but plant size must be accompanied by quality. As varying training techniques will produce varying sized plants. The size of a plant won't weigh heavily in judging. No excessive stretching Judging Panel @Totemic @PsyCLown @420SA @Green Leaf Organics - a late but very welcome judge addition

  35. This last year or two has been challenging and interesting. I have been the topic of both good and bad conversations. Realizing that it is because people generally don't know who I am, is why it has been such a multi polar experience. I started growing 10 years ago, fumbled around with bags seeds for a year or two, before gaining access to other imported genetics. What started me on my breeding journey was when I was given the Chocolope seeds from DNA genetics by another well known growmie back in 2013, who has undoubtedly touched all your lives in some way or another. I have since bred a few strains over the years, and established a rythem within the micro-breeding sector. The state of Cannabis back then was still rough, and most of my work had to be low key, and there are a few of the OG's on here that have been following what I have been doing. Even now I keep a lot of what I do low key, and within the reasonable limits that prevail. I am a father to two teenage boys, husband to a beautiful wife, and earn my living in the property maintenance sector. Cannabis is my passion though, and where all the extra time in my life pours into, and over the last 2 years I have been gravitating toward a full-time commitment. Sharing this through my seeds, my activism, is part of my drive to free the plant. Doing this has inadvertently thrust me into the public. A place I'm not yet used to or comfortable in as I'm generally a private person. However, I thought it a good place to treat this thread as a Q&A about my breeding. Here are a few that have have already recently popped up: Q: Where do you get your seeds? A: I do all my own pollination, and produce my own seeds. The plants I breed with are selected cuts from the original breeders seed stock and my own seed stock. Q: How do you manage to pheno hunt with so few plants? A: My pheno hunting spans across many growers tents, gardens and farm spaces, besides my own space. Q: Do you sell other peoples work/gear and pass it off as your own? A: No. I see myself as an ethical breeder. I am transparent about the genetics I work with, and credit the original breeder and their work. Q: Do you have any autos? A: No. Although there is a demand for them, to protect the photoperiod genetics I work with, I will not be working with autos at all into the foreseeable future. EDIT: I have since this actually started working on a few autoflower crosses, since making major changes to my setup. Q: Why are your prices so low? A: We are at an automatic disadvantage with our poor exchange rate when importing seeds. This makes it inaccessible to many more than you think. Part of my mission is to make good quality genetics available at prices everyone can afford. So, what do you want to know?

  36. You are seriously not screwing around, mad skills and breeders packs buds. Herijuana is tops, I can vouch for that. Funny enough this picture is viral on the net, and most likely the leaves are from the strain Herijuana from Sannies. And further more than likely why they became man eating bunnies. ( it was a viral hoax story I think related to a spoof FOx news site, cant find it, but its in the ether, somewhere )

  45. Hi everyone My update for the last week: Topping done on 16/6, ON 18/6 I found her the morning with drooping/hanging leaves, fed her later that day at 400ppm and she looked much better on 20/6. Bend the main stem 20/6 and she is already up/ straight this morning 22/6 but a bit light in color ?? . Good luck for the week!!

  46. Thanx. They will be potted up end of next week. They've been in these pots about a week now after potting them up from the seedling mix.. That will then be to the final pot. 5L.. As soon as they are settled it might be the 3rd and then the flip.. That's the plan but I will keep my eye on them to ensure they not root bound.. They should be fine for the next week.. Is it just me, or is time flying by way to quick.. Before you know it we're done...
