Day 42 Nothing interesting today but definitely ready to flip they now can’t wait, I have added a trellis net for the flight this week11 points

What's crackalacking fam! I have a few updates for you all. With just a handful of days to go before the flip, I have cleaned up the plants and taken Off most fan leaves. The remaining leaves will really take off and set the scene for flowering. Stakes and trellis will be added to support and guide the stems to success and bountiful harvests with fat unwavering dongs I enjoyed @iGrowDagga post with the ruler for reference and decided to include some of my own ruler for reference pics 5 more sleeps guys8 points

One day when I can afford enough lights That extractor seems perfect. Pretty big I would assume. Max size? Been planning to turn the space into a wine cellar as well. Perhaps a counter along the side and make a little kuierplek with the plants. One year ago this was just dark mouldy and filled with crap. Above ground view. It’s under the tiles. Match up the arches with the inside view Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk8 points

Did it. First time in a year I came out ahead on budget so splashed a bit. Now if only RAM gave a fucking kettle cord with their fan. It looks n top of the grow box exhausting out into the garage. Not sure it’s worth it potting up now Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk7 points

Morning my fellow growmies.. So what a relief that the girls responded well to my random fim, tops and LST of the other day.. Actually glad I did it.. They would recover just in time for the flip.. I am stoked with how the girls are doing.. If I did not have anny to compare it to I feel that they are winners7 points

Day 4 Week 8 Update my agenda also gave me the 10 weeks to go warning.. plants are pre.. so I should be on track, so far so good. Also they got a liter of water.. as I also put them in their final home. I wasn't sure to repot.. but the plastic pot stayed to long heavy, I do not like that. Sorry I made no picture of the roots. Pot was nicely taken over, very consistent root build up. But I waste no time when I repot.. so fetching the camera to make a picture, was no option. Sorry, forgot!!! Taking the screen out and putting it back on was a piece of cake. Lets finish those 2 babes5 points

Try get the exit of the pipe to be outside the entrance now, then it will cycle the air. Well done though, good show on the items and timing.4 points

I agree to every word you wrote. I wanted to repot just when i flipped. Decided against... and regretted that a few days later. I gave em a bit to much feeding and was worried i have my roots to moist for to long. Spontaneous freak out the roots surprised me. I could pull very simple and was standing solid without pot. Will see on the video, if i stressed em. Next 10 weeks will just raise the screen slowly. My biggest fuckup was when i toasted them quickly. Have some rain periods and humidity went off the charts installed the electric heater and switched it on full. But didnt changed the ventilation humidity setup. At 45% the circuit venting to the outside and take in fresh air stopped. When i came much later for a check, 33.7 degrees and 24% humidity. As said... toasted hehehe. Changed to setup and have the heater on timer at 50%, building in a sensor, less forgetting Flower tent runs on a very stable 24 degrees and humidity swingst between 40 and 50%.4 points

electrical isnt a huge mission... hit me up maybe i can help you out with some electrical work to hook your space up to the next level. where are you based? jhb or not?4 points

Fok that place is soooooo cool brother Put an extraction fan and pipe and you'll be sorted, get the biggest your budget can afford, they are like R2500 for decent size.4 points

I’ve also got two fabric pots, 3 gals. Plan was to transplant but they never got big enough. So thinking put #1&3 into the fabrics and pull #2 out of the comp. Give her time to recover and try and get proper growth. This was the training plan, current white strawberry about to be chopped. These pots seem to work as well Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

@The_StonedTrooper So how do you find the IQ2 now that you have spent a bit more time with it? Also which version is your IQ2 on (firmware)? Have you tried to use any concentrates with it? What is your favorite way of using the IQ2? Precision mode or smart paths? I have been fortunate to have been able to experience a cheap chinese vape & Arizer ArGo (Thanks to @Ill_Evan for lending me his vape) which are both convection (heating by hot air). Then the Davinci IQ (Thanks to @CreX for lending it to me) & Davinci IQ2 which are both conduction (heating by physical touch). I have tried a Pax 3 before but it was a long time ago and only used it once or twice and never really got to play with it and the different modes much. I have also used a Vapor Genie for an extended period of time, still have it but no longer use it as it is not convenient to use unfortunately. It is manual, need to use a lighter to get heat. The chinese vape I used for years as I just wanted an electronic vape at the time and couldn't justify a couple thousand for a more premium vape. It cost me around R700 with shipping I think... Honestly, it works pretty well for what it was and the price. 5 preset temps which you can select, can do herb and concentrates. The biggest downfall is the fact that the battery is not replaceable. I could probably open it and replace it, but may need to solder it and it's not simple to replace like on the above vapes. However for the price, cannot go wrong with it if you are on a budget. It lacks some refinement in the sense that the sessions were only 5 minutes each roughly, I feel this is too short of a session on a vape so I use to run 2x sessions. It use to take a bit of time to heat up, but once its going it is great. 30 to 45 seconds to heat up. It would not notify you when it is at temp, just the LED would change. I often forgot that the vape was heating up and ended up missing a session or starting my session late. Vape quality was good though. The design could have been improved ever so slightly to make using it a bit easier / more comfortable but we're now getting into the smaller things though. For interest sake, this is the chinese vape I am referring to, The Black Widow portable vape: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Widow-Portable-Concentrate-Vaporizer/dp/B06WRVTNY8 After my experiences, I must admit that the difference in vapor quality between all 4 of these vapes was little to none. There is a bigger difference in vapor quality when the device is dirty, than comparing all 4 vapes to each other when they're all clean. If I was blind folded and there was a way for me to take a hit from each vape without being able to tell which vape it was (different mouth pieces), I would struggle to say which vape or which type of vape I am using. Airflow may be the biggest giveaway though. With that being said, I feel these premium improve the overall experience and it's the smaller things which stand out for me. The ease of emptying or refilling the vape, cleaning the vape, the way the vape feels in your hand, changing out the batteries, the functionality the vape offers (how precise can you be with the temp settings, the smart paths which the Davinci IQ and IQ2 offer etc.), the accessories the vapes come with and offer (connecting it to a bong) and something as simple as the vape beeping or vibrating when it has reached temp or when the session has come to an end. Out of these vapes, if one is on a budget and wants an electronic vape which is portable, without a doubt go and try buy a Black Widow. You will not be missing out on much in terms of having an electronic vape. My favorite vapes are the ArGo and the IQ2 though. They both have pros and cons when compared to one another, but once again it is small things and it may not bother everyone. I am being nit picky here. The IQ 1 is a great vape, however it lacks the refinement of the IQ2. Small things though. I do feel the IQ2 comes out tops overall due to the extra features and functionality, while some may be a bit gimmicky or something you do not use often, it has it there for if you want to use it or play around with it. The IQ2 is not without its faults though and I feel there are some improvements which could be made, the "screen" made up of LEDs isn't as nice as the screen on the ArGo as not as much info can be displayed at once and it can be difficult to look at as an example. EDIT: It seems the Black Widow is conduction and not convection.4 points

I tripled the strength, so now I will use 1 ml instead of 3. Then worked out what the grams per litre for each element and the npk ratio for the diluted solutions. 3:1:5 for veg. 3:2:7 when you begin adding MKP, in 1:1:1, along with the A/B R60 for a concentrated, 3 part nutrient blend. I will play around with similar ratios to the GHE Flora and crunch some more numbers.4 points

All rain water needs to be tested, as you never know what roof it runs off of, and then what is in the gutters, or built up on the roof. I know a guy who has to fix the pH of his rain water, as he has an asbestos roof or something, and makes it bad, even mould or algae can make a difference. You also can get huge ppm or TDS in there. Know what you giving your plants, always, you will notice a huge difference Added, you also never know what is growing or dead in the tank3 points

oh yeah, ahead of budget is always a good feeling! nice one man! what size is it? 15cm looks like you gona have to make sure the end of that duct is completely out of that room, I assume it's a 10m length? have it go out the room and around a bend, remember the co2 will travel upwards so ducting pushing co2 always perform better when going up and never down, especially if it's such a long way to go like you got there and every bend will decrease airflow so keep all these small things in mind. if the end of your duct is close to the end of the room you might have a problem with that air just coming back to your room. with tent guys we always gotta exhaust to another room or preferebly outside, because if that air goes in the room your tent is in it will just suck in the same air again and again and essentially same with your situation. but yeah, you heading the right direction brother Next on your shopping list is probably a tent? maybe some more material pots also and then gona build a 10k worth LED setup for 4K from local aluminium and digikey imports.3 points

I don't think a flush is at all necessary... Just correct your feeds and it will come right. Rain water should be fine... Although I have had some pretty acidic rain water before so you will still need to check what's the pH and shit.3 points

You can flush with that yes, in my opinion. Check the pH before and after the runoff3 points

@Newbie1011 they're bright though. Judging from your other thread, stealth is a concern for you. You must remember that any grow light that is able to veg and flower properly is going to make a lot of light when your space is open.3 points
-
Futurelight? Na, dont waste your cash on that product to grow weed. Go full spectrum LED grow lights. Couldnt find what diodes they used. You want those info before you buy. Get a 120w Quantum Board... and you will get a nice harvesting plant.. 50g and up, the better you get with training.3 points

and say whats up to Jessie and tell her woody is on his way (Toy story reference)3 points

Hi @Newbie1011, lots of questions for you too!! that space is really tiny, and only one plant will fit in there. but thats what you are aiming for so all good. any link to the lights? 100w in that space isnt the worst i have seen.. but its also not near the median mark as far as lighting is concerned. you will need better lights for better results. one plant will fit fine, but at a max of 90cm including the pot, you will be exceptionally lucky if you pull 50g every 5 months with your Mol readings, not sure how you took them? but with those reading, you might be able to get away with vegging the plants at 30cm... and you will not have enough light for flower... you will need to triple the light output for decent flower results @Prom3 points

Thanks for all the input. The outside wall is double brick thick. Been thinking about adding a filter and proper extraction out into the garage. Perhaps close up the veg area as well. Here’s the current setup from a wider angle The bottom flower box gets closed for 12/12 while the top gets 18.3 points
-
If you put extractor fans, 2x and pipe it outside, you will suck fresh air in without fail, and solve this issue, will drop RH, decrease CO2 and fix the plant not drinking and breathing. Also fabric pots indoors is a must.3 points

GHE uses Calcium EDTA, so it won't precipitate out of solution like normal calcium and wont bond with other nutes as easily. Hortimix I am sure is normal calcium, so there are some thing which will prevent you from getting it the same but for the price and if someone is on a budget you can get pretty good results from Hortimix - does require a bit of effort and tweaking though. Making the mixes stronger and more concentrated is a must IMO. Cannot use a single bag into 5L of water - waaay too weak.3 points

ECOSIA, they plant trees for every few thousand searches if they really do or not I don't know, but what I also like is the suggestions is not like google shoving useless negative info down my throat and pouring stress down on me, instead it shows me crazy accomplishments in the nature department all over the world. you can also keep track of the amount of trees planted by your searches, it's my default browser everywhere.3 points

There are so many options, most better than that UFO and you have a few here on the forum, and then a few local on IG, and then some local on google. Prom and Psyclown know their stuff and I'd pay close attention to their advice2 points

One big outstanding thing is there is no electricity. So currently running everything off an extension from the garage. So can’t go too big yet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

@Prom, just checking with you, but i generally would not pot up if i have already flipped to flower as the roots will not fill up the new medium you added. i have found this lead to issues with my ladies with the pot staying too wet due to the lack of root system to pull the water up. still amped to see how your ladies cruise through flower hehe, you are gonna give us all some valuable hints on how they gonna flower out2 points

Hi guys, Really interested in growing cannabis. The room I rent out is small, and has a cabinet for hanging clothes. Dimensions are about 50x50x120cm. I'm thinking of growing a single White Widow feminized plant in the cabinet. I'm on a really tight budget, so can't afford a place of my own or a very expensive LED light . I have a few questions for people who have been in my situation / experienced folk: 1) Will 2 50Watt UFO pendants be enough for a single white widow plant ? Here is the breakdown of light: 142 mol @ 0.5m 76.4 mol @ 1m 45.8 mol @ 1.5m 40.2 mol @ 2m 2) I'm really worried about the odor the plant will release at flowering. I was thinking of buying ONA gel like substance and putting 2 plates with a lot of the stuff on each plate, next to the plant, on the floor. And perhaps one plate above the lights. I live with a lot of other people and cant have the odor being released outside my room. Will keep my 2 windows fully open at all times. Please let me know if the ONA gel like substance is good enough for 1 plant. 3) I want the plant to be about 60-80cm in height, what size pot should I get for this desired height, and any guesses as to the yield with my given lights that I want to use ? How much smell will the plant produce at this height during flowering ? 4) Will I need to keep my cabinet open all the time ? Or can I close it sometimes or all the time ? I know fresh air is important, just really worried about the smell escaping and people knowing what I'm doing (Especially the landlord). I really hope ONA gel is enough! That's about it guys. I've NEVER grown a plant before, this will be my first time doing this (Although I grew a small weed plant in high school, but my dad told me to rubbish it . ANY advice or answers to the above questions will be of great help to me and I would really appreciate it. Thank you, Andy2 points

Howzit @Newbie1011, I'm assuming you're referring to this product because they state the exact same PAR readings you mentioned: https://www.futurelight.co.za/products/led-grow-light-50w-grow-ufo-pendant?variant=37921268564138 Have you already purchased this?2 points

Opera mini is / was for phone... It's ancient though. IT was also replaced by normal Opera for phones a few years ago. At least for Android. Opera for desktop is now based off Chrome, but I love Opera. Been using it for over 15 years now. @Weskush 2009 is a really old laptop, at work and home I use laptops from around 2014 (Windows) and even those are getting a bit frustrating to work with but at least both have 8GB of RAM and a SSD inside (upgraded myself). Apple do implement more planned obsolescence, with Apple you need to pay to play and their "magic" keyboard for R5800 is perfect proof. Who the f&^K can justify spending R5800 on a keyboard... Not even a fancy high end gaming keyboard with a built in touch screen, special buttons, individual RGB backlit keys and so forth. https://www.istore.co.za/magic-keyboard-for-ipad-pro-11-inch-3rd-generation-and-ipad-air-4th-generation-international-english I think it's ways for companies to try get some tax write offs.2 points

Update: Week 7 of veg I've been trying to see what combination of the nutrient mix was causing the white precipitate. So far nothing . I'll keep those for a bit longer to see if anything changes. I'm beginning to wonder if it was not just the silicon that I had not let stand for long enough before mixing in the A+B. Then the cloudiness a few days after the mixing could simply be a bacterial bloom. I usually clean out the res, but I've not been cleaning the airstones. This could be an issue as they are ideal places for bateria to grow. I've bleached them and will try a new res later this week to see. Feels like some progress at least, seems unlikely its a bad batch of nutrients at this point :) The plants are looking good, filling out nicely now. T3 is still the smallest of the three, so I think I'll keep that for clones and only flower the other two.2 points

I think watering every 3 days in organic soil is a bit much. Those stones could be leaching, they seem to have turned browner.Do you have a ph meter? I would collect some of the runoff and measure it.2 points

Got one of those massive metal floor fans blowing air out with the office fan on the plants. It is an area about 1.8 x 7m with the grow right at the back. Will post a pic tomorrow. Hi folks. 26 days into flower and things are looking good. Did a bit of inspection and feeding today. All the ladies have started pushing tricome development except for the GSC. Not sure whether it's the strain that grows like this or whether it's a poor iteration by the breeder/seed bank... Nevertheless all the other ladies are happily showing their flowering prowess. I will update with some bud pics of all the strains in the week. Bubblegum Twisted Helix Clones Tent view2 points

I use the 3 part Flora series. I follow the chart on the bottle (hydro / coco, as I grow in coco). It has a chart for soil on the bottle, but never tried it. I will occasionally supplement with a few things or add a bit of my own concoctions but nute wise pretty much follow their chart and may taper down towards the end of flower due to the nute build up. If I water by hand, I mix enough for the watering. If I'm using my automatic watering, then I mix and keep it in the res with air stones and the plants get their nutes as required. June 24th - day 41 - 9 days veg left More of the same with #1 + #3: lightly squeezing the branches before bending them downwards. Removing the odd fan leaf covering growth below it while trying not to remove much at one go. #2 which was the slowest grower of the 3, received an experimentally-more-aggressive haircut with only 9 days veg left. Interested to see how it responds in the remaining veg time in comparison to the other 2. June 25 - day 42 - 8 days veg left 24 hrs after defoilation: #2 underskirt shot Sometimes #1 & #3 swap positions so they take turns to get the first whiff of the fresh air coming in on the right. #2 getting the ginger-step-child treatment but silently I'm cheering for her.2 points
