Day 28 Only 3 phenos remain. #1 Been the standout plant since early veg. Her terpene profile is that exact sweet ice-cream on the nose. Her frost development is on point, and she has a large bract size. I'm loving the main cola she is developing too. #6 This is what I would call an average expression of this generation. Nothing too special about her compared to #1. Her terpene profile is also sweet, still developing but not quite that pronounced ice-cream I'm after. Her cola development is distinctly different to #1 #2 This is the gelato dominant pheno. Compact nodes, battling with shade avoidance and not opening up quite as much as I'd like, but the terpene profile is on point, and she has frost and yield development potential. #1 (left) and #6 (right) Overall my main interest is my #1 pheno for this round. The F1 generation gives you the dominant traits of the 2 lines expressed. #1 fits this perfectly, but in the f2s recessive traits from both lines are going to express. This means that while #1 is an absolute stunner of a plant, it may not be the plant here that produces the best set of activated recessive traits in the next generation.12 points

Weekend update: The "Green Pheno" is mint, just what a man wants to see come from his seed. She's chowing every molecule of light that passes her. The "Purple Pheno" is just behind mint, she grows and smells like a beast, but just not accepting the man iGrowDagga's intense light, showing a bit eina eina smaller growing leaves at the tops, she'll get over it soon. Mid week update - 3 applications of bb done, will not be doing any other IPM measures. Will be doing a decent feed going into flowering, fish / epic / molasses / fulvic extract / microbes and aminos. This soil is depleted of nitrogen quite severely, not a terrible thing, but it will need to be managed as we go through flower.8 points

I will though, enter with the below Let's hope this is my last SOTM entry and that I can rather assist the forum in the competitions.7 points

The plant is still effectively in veg mode for 10-14 days after the flip, and just like stretch above ground, the roots also go through an explosive growth phase as the plant prepares itself for peak flowering, so a repot on the same day as flip would be benificial5 points

What's crackalacking fam! I have a few updates for you all. With just a handful of days to go before the flip, I have cleaned up the plants and taken Off most fan leaves. The remaining leaves will really take off and set the scene for flowering. Stakes and trellis will be added to support and guide the stems to success and bountiful harvests with fat unwavering dongs I enjoyed @iGrowDagga post with the ruler for reference and decided to include some of my own ruler for reference pics 5 more sleeps guys5 points

Hi All I have recently started a cannabis consulting company and I just wanted to get feedback from the community if there is a need in the cannabis community for and extraction service company . I would be able to create and extract whatever people could want from Short path distillation , rosin , bho ect to creating vape juices and distillate carts for people with there own harvests for personal use . There a lot of people doing rosin atm but see very few offering short path distillation and proper BHO extraction. We could also go as far as edible manufacture for people with there own stock for personal use . just wanted to get some feedback from the community of what is needed atm. Cheers4 points

It's the nature of the F2 line, it's genetics, and the foxtailing is dominant from the chocolope NL. The gelato cut is also not a big yielder but produces these smaller indica nugs. They fair well and express with uniform genetic foxtailing to build quite a bigger bud than winter would produce4 points

Crisis those mechanical yellow pens are a roll of the dice hey. 9/10 of them would get returned when I was still working at a hydro store. My go-to pen is the HM Digital. Two years in and still accurate, I use a spare to double check every now and then because even this pen is supposed to expire at some point but so far so good.4 points

June 26 - day 43 About 2 days after #2 got cut back: June 28 - day 45 About 4 days since the snip and #2 has bounced back pretty well... In fact #2 bounced back strong enough to get me thinking about what I could still do with #1 + #3 in the veg time left and considering the phase the plant still has to transition through before full blown flowering...hmm get the bong... A few bongs and a little while later with some garden wire + clothes pegs + tough love to the outer branches = At the same time as doing this training I cleared up some lower growth (as I'm typing this I can hear someone from the cheap seats at the back chirping my whole plants are lower growth... ja ja.. rustig rustig)...and I've tried to root some snips from #1 and #3 as clones - if I'm lucky I'll have another chance at growing these and push them further in veg. These comp plants aren't gonna yield a ton but gonna follow through with these 3 in the comp as originally intended. Note for the next growoff or for any noobs reading this - germinate on day 1, there isn't time to waste [emoji23] cloning is new to me but if I can just get 1 to root I will be stoked. Lots of great tips on cloning on the forum [emoji123] #1.1-1.6 and #3.1-3.6: June 29 - day 46 But wait I wasn't done with the garden wire... decided to bring the inner branches down to earth as well. June 30 - day 47 Some okes are growing a canopy... I'm growing a carpet [emoji1787] for realzies though, this probably isn't favourable for air circulation and proximity to soil perhaps increases risk of critters but they should stretch a bit once flipped. Let's see what happens. Looking forward to a FLIPPING lekker Friday.3 points

All the girls got new homes. Found my two old fabrics and picked up a new one. Soils was damp so I removed a bit on the outer layer and potted into fresh soil. The roots were obviously not happy. Went from the 15cm to 3 gals. Quick photo before my battery died Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk3 points

Hell to the yes man. But what is always the case, these types of services are comically always only located in the Cape. Even just cannabis profile testing, also in the Cape. Shit is scarce in Gautengeleng, so I find small pockets of friends that will do it for each other every now and then but of course consistency is the problem. So ja dude, can't say the service isn't desired. Real problem is location of services.3 points

for very accurate calibration i believe you should use them both. calibrate to the higher PH, then test in the lower PH and recalibrate, and then back to the high ph and recalibrate until you find the spot where it is accurate on both fronts. lots of rinsing needed, and lots of time. for my needs, calibrating to one or the other suffices3 points

You know I have made this soil many times and every time I make it the less accurate I get with measurements. I feel that it is more down to the microbes you add to the soil and how you cook the soil. But that is a whole different discussion. Thank you.3 points

100% not disputing that there are much better pens out there LOL and 100% agreeing that i may be pretty lucky hahaha the only thing that pisses me of about it is me..because 1 out of ten times, im gonna forget to turn the thing off and then i have to go buy some more fucken batteries haha3 points

Hmmm, Google, always on the money...not If you can, you'll be the first in the world to do so, normally shaking will make more air bubbles. Get a quality pen, end of discussion and great advice from Naughty3 points

A mobile service is a great idea but practicly could be an issue as good extraction takes time. Rosin could easily be done but SPD and BHO needs days to be done properly . The courier company isn't an issue and legal documents would need to accompany all products at all times . I have a tester that does basic potency so all product can be tested before extraction to give a relative yield estimation and we could offer an full lab test option with terpene profile . We must remember that no limits are currently set on cannabis, as the bill everyone keeps referring to is a proposed bill which has now baicly been scrapped for the cannabis master plan . All cannabis remains the property of the grower and all we offer is a service2 points

I've Deside to choose my 1 plant to put into flower. The other two girls I will vege untill I am happy and then flip them. I want to get a bit more potential out of them. Competition is for one plant so no reason to waste the other two..2 points

Opened up some bud sites, removed unwanted sites and cleaned them up a bit.. Will not fiddle with them again except for nr 3 that is receiving some stretching excersises..2 points

Thank you all, seriously. I am only doing my best, with what I have, which isn't fancy at all, and I'm no professional by any means, So all your kind words and love, are felt in my heart and not my head, and are the world to me. Bless all you good people and family.2 points

I think pricing would play a large role too, especially if it is the end consumer you are targeting. What sort of prices are we talking here?2 points

Harvested some nice plump healthy beans. Haven't counted, but looks like about 150 beans to play with. We are going to do a single breeder pack of Pineapple Chem F1 (20 regs) which we will give away in a competition. These F1's will not be sold, and are exclusively for me to select a mother.2 points

I judge the watering on experience. And I look at the soil. I water about 2.5l every 2nd day. That will increase during flower (2.5l daily) and then decrease at the end of flower. This is when I hand water. I will be installing the blumats either today or tomorrow.2 points

as of yet I do not have a tank, when I expect rain I put buckets down all around the house, old schoooool style! so I don't let it stand, collect and 24hrs later should be used and rest goes to under roof garden. got corrigated zinc sheets on the roof, clean gutters all around, but still interested in the ph and ppm. got a few buckets collected, will do the tests tonight2 points

Sorry bud but I have a difference of opinion... Once gave an autoflower (the last auto I ever grew) a new pot the same day as I flipped and she grew ENORMOUS compared to the rest that stayed in small pot.2 points

did you mean in the screen of the thing? so the enclosed motherboard area got water in? the potassium chloride the trooper is refering to is the probe liquid, it needs to be kept wet at all times. those yellow cheapies don't last long, heard only about 6 months if looked after it properly and calibrated each month. after the 6th month it wont calibrate correctly anymore. your situation seems like it might have been dropped in water or you submersed more than just the tip and water got into the body of the pen? my blue labs equipment is all submersable and waterproof, if you buying a new one I would like to recommend to look at the blue labs one. if you thinking bout sticking to growing any kinda plants I would suggest getting a pen that will last you forever and it stays accurate aslong as you calibrate it.2 points

I wrote a long arse reply, validating my reply... Then it deleted Do it, you rather have that, and a few days, than worry you should have. In my experience, my plants prefer the new space, the roots will do what the plant is on top, and stretch in the first 3 weeks of flowering, so the space is better. Oh, I've done it many times, no issues. Some dont like it, but even some of those who dislike it, worried they should have and did.2 points

A side note, you can run the extraction fan in the garage where you have more power, I assume, and the long side toward the grow room, and the other out the garage. Especially with such a distance, you want the fan in the middle for best performance. Added, you can also, if you need to, lay the pipe on the ground at the grow, this would help with the co2, which sinks, but not so much for the heat that will rise to the top... But, the oscillating fans will churn the air up enough, both ways.2 points

@The_StonedTrooper So how do you find the IQ2 now that you have spent a bit more time with it? Also which version is your IQ2 on (firmware)? Have you tried to use any concentrates with it? What is your favorite way of using the IQ2? Precision mode or smart paths? I have been fortunate to have been able to experience a cheap chinese vape & Arizer ArGo (Thanks to @Ill_Evan for lending me his vape) which are both convection (heating by hot air). Then the Davinci IQ (Thanks to @CreX for lending it to me) & Davinci IQ2 which are both conduction (heating by physical touch). I have tried a Pax 3 before but it was a long time ago and only used it once or twice and never really got to play with it and the different modes much. I have also used a Vapor Genie for an extended period of time, still have it but no longer use it as it is not convenient to use unfortunately. It is manual, need to use a lighter to get heat. The chinese vape I used for years as I just wanted an electronic vape at the time and couldn't justify a couple thousand for a more premium vape. It cost me around R700 with shipping I think... Honestly, it works pretty well for what it was and the price. 5 preset temps which you can select, can do herb and concentrates. The biggest downfall is the fact that the battery is not replaceable. I could probably open it and replace it, but may need to solder it and it's not simple to replace like on the above vapes. However for the price, cannot go wrong with it if you are on a budget. It lacks some refinement in the sense that the sessions were only 5 minutes each roughly, I feel this is too short of a session on a vape so I use to run 2x sessions. It use to take a bit of time to heat up, but once its going it is great. 30 to 45 seconds to heat up. It would not notify you when it is at temp, just the LED would change. I often forgot that the vape was heating up and ended up missing a session or starting my session late. Vape quality was good though. The design could have been improved ever so slightly to make using it a bit easier / more comfortable but we're now getting into the smaller things though. For interest sake, this is the chinese vape I am referring to, The Black Widow portable vape: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Black-Widow-Portable-Concentrate-Vaporizer/dp/B06WRVTNY8 After my experiences, I must admit that the difference in vapor quality between all 4 of these vapes was little to none. There is a bigger difference in vapor quality when the device is dirty, than comparing all 4 vapes to each other when they're all clean. If I was blind folded and there was a way for me to take a hit from each vape without being able to tell which vape it was (different mouth pieces), I would struggle to say which vape or which type of vape I am using. Airflow may be the biggest giveaway though. With that being said, I feel these premium improve the overall experience and it's the smaller things which stand out for me. The ease of emptying or refilling the vape, cleaning the vape, the way the vape feels in your hand, changing out the batteries, the functionality the vape offers (how precise can you be with the temp settings, the smart paths which the Davinci IQ and IQ2 offer etc.), the accessories the vapes come with and offer (connecting it to a bong) and something as simple as the vape beeping or vibrating when it has reached temp or when the session has come to an end. Out of these vapes, if one is on a budget and wants an electronic vape which is portable, without a doubt go and try buy a Black Widow. You will not be missing out on much in terms of having an electronic vape. My favorite vapes are the ArGo and the IQ2 though. They both have pros and cons when compared to one another, but once again it is small things and it may not bother everyone. I am being nit picky here. The IQ 1 is a great vape, however it lacks the refinement of the IQ2. Small things though. I do feel the IQ2 comes out tops overall due to the extra features and functionality, while some may be a bit gimmicky or something you do not use often, it has it there for if you want to use it or play around with it. The IQ2 is not without its faults though and I feel there are some improvements which could be made, the "screen" made up of LEDs isn't as nice as the screen on the ArGo as not as much info can be displayed at once and it can be difficult to look at as an example. EDIT: It seems the Black Widow is conduction and not convection.2 points

Morning my fellow growmies.. So what a relief that the girls responded well to my random fim, tops and LST of the other day.. Actually glad I did it.. They would recover just in time for the flip.. I am stoked with how the girls are doing.. If I did not have anny to compare it to I feel that they are winners2 points

Hi folks. 26 days into flower and things are looking good. Did a bit of inspection and feeding today. All the ladies have started pushing tricome development except for the GSC. Not sure whether it's the strain that grows like this or whether it's a poor iteration by the breeder/seed bank... Nevertheless all the other ladies are happily showing their flowering prowess. I will update with some bud pics of all the strains in the week. Bubblegum Twisted Helix Clones Tent view2 points
