The soft switch deadline has arrived and before I miss it I have then officially flipped The One and made space for her in my already pretty full flower tent! Plans were made and I have found her a space. I did a final little clean up of the lower branches as with this training technique I have found in the past that keeping the lower branches has always resulted in airy buds, so I'd prefer the energy being diverted to the tops. Otherwise, haven't changed much. I will do one more feed at 1ml/L of the Gro/Micro/Bloom and thereafter start with the preflower nutes, say in a week or so. Before After8 points

Changes made - need more waaatttz, but don’t need more bills. So, added 240w qb but no dimmers both (they gave up) so running at full - high up. I run them off a schedule that follows the sun, for 12 hours, only 2 hours (in the middle) full 480watts, trying something new, let’s see how it grafts. In my opinion, each plant doesn't need more than 120w, but that’s for their size now. The girls are going to sleep7 points

So be it.. I'm not happy to flip yet so pushing boundaries.. They got a good neem spray and a good serenade spray precautionary.. Happy flowering buds.. Some tucking and bending going on..6 points

@The_StonedTrooper The test between Bio Heaven and Amino Boost is very promising.. and Amino Boost costs about 20 times less. But 20% more bud substance and 20% more potency I can't ignore Yes, I will make a happy happy dance, when the tests result with the same potency. Can't wait to replace Bio Heaven, hope plants done flowering before i need another bottle. 1300 for a liter.. and is the substance BioBizz wants to add the most, greedy little fuckers 150 you fork out for a bottle of amino boost.. and they add max 4ml per TEN liters.. BioBizz is 6ml PER liter. BioBizz and I have more some kind of love/hate relation4 points

Yeah you not going to get the best of them with only 8 weeks. 10 weeks minimum, and some might like an extra week.4 points

I have to agree. From the look of my 2 Tortoni's I have going at the moment 8 weeks might not be enough for the flowering stage. It's leaning more towards the 9 to 10 weeks mark... Here's my 2 ladies at 33 days (just shy of 5 weeks) and as you can see still got some ways to go..4 points

Wow flip day arrived quickly! I switch the tent over to 12/12 (21:00-09:00) with T2 and T3. T1 is still lagging and has been moved to the clone tent. Some more testing with the mixing looks good. I'll look at how cost effective GHE is when the bottles arrive, I'm considering continuing to use hortimix for the clones + mothers. They are all looking fantastic, its a pity that they are not the competition plants. Perhaps I should show the two going into flower what they look like to create some envy... I did tiny bit of trimming this morning, just trying to keep things even before the stretch. There are a couple of signs of nutrient issues in a couple of the leaves. I'm very surprised that I've not seen that until now given the nutrient/precipitation issues I've been having. I expect this should not get much worse now that I have a good idea of what is going on and the upcoming nutrient switch.4 points

Flip day. Mid term report. Firstly sorry for the overload of pics. 55 days since seeds put in water. 49 days since seedlings have been in soil. So I planted directly into a 10l pot and stunted growth due to soil still being waay to wet in my opinion. I carefully removed plants and repotted into smaller pots. Soil in 10l pots I spread out to dry then added extra perlite. It seems to have helped but I think the soil still stays on the damp side for a long time. Plants recovered somewhat after two weeks in the smaller pots and were repotted into the 10l pots. They still seem to be battling though. Temps max: 28.6 min: 16.4 RH max: 71 min: 39 Water 750ml once a week or so. Feed & nutes: Tried Epsom salts in the water a while back. The second last water I gave a half dose of GHE tri part. Bio neem spray every two weeks. Not very happy at this stage but on the bright side I can see a root or two popping out the bottom of the pot. I think that's everything covered.3 points

Hey all, So doing a bit of a clean up and there are some items which I am unlikely to use so instead of wasting, would rather give it away to someone who will make use of it. I am in JHB, shipping can be arranged but at your expense. Let's start with some seeds, I somehow ended up with 3 Chocolope seeds from last years grow off. This is a cross by @Totemic and these are regulars. These were listed at #3, I wrote down what it was on a piece of paper but have since lost the paper... So now they are mystery seeds which I never got around to growing. The fact they were regulars put me off. I am sure it will be waaay better than bag seed! This is Killing Fields crossed with something which I do not remember, also regulars. Now I have so mycorrhizal fungi, I have moved away from using myco in this form and prefer to use it in a powdered form now and this has been sitting gathering dust... So rather have someone make use of it I feel. 1KG of myco: This was a sample I got from Plant Matters of their myco, which is mixed with vermiculite. Finally, we get to some sprays and such which I am unlikely to make use of. From left to right, we have the following: Xterminator - which is practically the same as Pyrol. LOTS left in the bottle. Florakleen - Meant to help with flushing, I no longer flush. Not a lot left in the bottle. Pyrol - well, I think most will know what this is, spray to kill most pests. LOTS left in the bottle. Neem - Once again I think most will know what it is, spray to kill pests as well. LOTS left in the bottle.2 points

This week I've run out of space to veg so I hung up some more lights. I have a spare 50 W of 4000 K strips with a Ballast and dimmer switch. I bought a pack of cool white bulbs and a light switch. I'm also using my 6 Volt magneto torch over some clones.2 points

@Stinger96 yes, Tarryn had 6 sides and got 4 mains from the FIM, one finger nail pincher. So she stands on 10, 6 sides, 4 mains. Sisa had 7 snips (sterilized scissors).. i would do more snips for mainlining.. but competition time frame just set how much is possible. I never did a direct compare between mainlining and FIMming.. courious myself what the result will tell. So far.. I prefer the mainlined plant. @The_StonedTrooper "You can keep the bottle!" Dang.. I have to watch that movie again2 points

July 2 - 49 days since seeds got wet and the lights switched off this morning to mark the end of the veg light cycle of 18-6. Later today the lights come back on and will begin their 12-12 cycle to the promised land. Its FLIP Friday! Let's turn these little pot plants into bouquets of flowers I've added 2 rods under the pots to increase air-to-soil in the hope that will speed up consumption of water and therfore drying up of the soil in these cold and humid times. Will probably find something else to serve this purpose more effectively over the weekend.2 points

The Dream Queen seedlings are impressing me big time. The Grape Gorilla also have some awesome vigour about her.. I can see that I will need more space soon..2 points

Week 6 Update / Veg Week 5 I guess this is the last report before we need to flip to 12/12. I tried getting as much vegging and training done as I could and I hope I didn't put them through too much stress. This week consisted mostly of keeping the canopy flat (well, trying to) and mid-week defoliation before heading towards flower, except for the organic lady, I just let her be and her side growth has almost caught up to the topped growth so I'm happy about that. All in all I think I'm okay with going into flower. Before defoliation: T1 - Alyssa: T2 - Amy: After defoliation and a little more training: T1 - Alyssa (sadly couldn't save the one stem and it needed to come off ): T2 - Amy: The girls are now: T1 - Alyssa: T2 - Amy: . T3 - Janis: Current tent view - @The_StonedTrooper's clones will have to be shifted around between outside and tent to stay in veg while I wait for my other tent to finish up : Have a great weekend fam, good luck all with the next stage of our adventure2 points

Competition ^^ you can still snip till a week into flip. As long as they don't get a infection from the cut.. when they do the hormone change, they are also not that easy to piss off with a cut. Once they are pre, LST most. So you still can play. Which one is the fastest flower girl.. you only see once they flower. Flip em all.. and play with some other Tortoni seeds1 point

Ok good sir.. I'm hesitant but will follow guidance.. Will only flip nr 2 though.. I want to play with the other two a bit more..1 point

I mixed a full batch again, giving the silicon several hours to dissolve first and as soon as I added the A mix in the water still went cloudy. Then I remembered that when I purchased the new silicon at the beginning of the year there was a not about it on the hydroponic.co.za. I just checked at its still there "As from mid October 2020, we have witched to a new supplier of Silicon Plus...". So I think its reasonable to assume that the new supplier's silicon is reacting with the A due to some difference in some way and that has been the actual issue. Possibly with some bacterial issues as I mentioned above. I should then be ok using only the A+B+MPK from now on. However I've decided to give GHE FloraCoco a try in the near future, thanks for the push @PsyCLown:) I've still got some other plants in hydro outside, I'll continue using hortimix there. I'll note in an update here when I switch these plants over to GHE1 point

I've just been informed, that the clone I have for the last week, is a Big B Cookies and Cream Cheese (with red x) That was a nice surprise, and it came with another one I really wanted to try grow organically after having tried some that was grown in hydro, was the Peanut butter breath. Excited for the rest of this years harvests.1 point
