Week 3 of flower, pulled lots of leaves yesterday. I feel as they they are somewhat behind, maybe a lag somewhere along the line. Will postpone feed to tomorrow if that, might leave it another week. Happy so far, not sure how much stretch is left.5 points

Morning folks. Day 53 of flower and I took out the ladies for some inspection and feedingone thing that really stands out for me is the fact that it seems the clones are maturing quicker than the mother plants? Pride and joy currently in the clone stable is the Palomino. I love the fact that the sugar leaves are cupping with excessive trichome. Just looks beautiful.4 points

Update: Week 4 of flower First signs of pistils :). I thought they'd be a bit further along by now, but at least they are looking really healthy. And some pics to show scale, quite a burst of growth over the last week. The issues I had at the start seem to be entirely resolved now, though its probably why the plants are not as far along as some now. Still its been really great to see them recover so well. One thing I forgot to mention when I repotted. I also repotted some of my mother plants for the first time in a long time. It was amazing to see the difference between the roots in fabric pots vs plastic. The plastic ones were all root bound, the fabric pots showed almost no signs of it, nice solid root balls all the way though. I know that is the theory but fun to see :) Hope everyone and their plants are surviving the cold this week3 points

I got a Super cheese mother plant from the place you talking about. Was over 2m tall, had to take about 50cm from her to fit in the boot. Was a nice filler for winter as the plant was fully grown just needed to flower.3 points

There's a fine sight. How big are the clones when they arrive and how much did they cost? My hash plant x Blueberry were originally bought from a farm, near Paarl. Apparently there's a sign at the gate saying Hemp Plants For Sale. They are the fastest and easiest plants I've got growing, also mildew/Eskom resistant too. You also don't know what it was treated with either. They could potentially be sprayed with a cocktail of poison to keep the mildew and bugs away.2 points

Also watched all of them last night. It feels so different to the old TUF these guys are so much nicer to each other. Couldn't believe Team Ortega got 4-0 to start with, I'm also surprised how little they talk about the couches. I think I heard Craig Jones say maybe 2 lines worth or words I'd also like to hear what the other couches are about, but alas. So far I'm enjoying it.2 points

Beautiful, luckily these are not autos so can really thicken those roots. She’s obviously getting pot bound and itching to preflower. Need a proper root trim and repot soon I think. I am starting to play with proper bonsais. Got a olive and thorn tree I’m working on getting established in a pot and a lot of spekboom cuttings going into little 3d printer pots like this Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Hello everyone, I was hoping you lot can help me out. I'm busy developing a new product that will automate your climate controls. so how it works is a sensor gives a reading about your climate ( like rh and temps ) and will switch your appliances on and off according to how you set your desired climate variables (eg: temps between 22 and 26 ens. ) I am also looking to develop a super cool app where it will record all the data from your grow and you will have remote control over your grow making things like a holiday or weekend easy and simple. I was just wondering what you guys think about the idea before I dive too deep into it. If I start up it will only be available for you SA growers at first so any indication on your thoughts of my idea will be great . (Ps I have a prototype up and running in my own grow that only controls my light cycle and temps and I'm super happy with it.)1 point

Hey all, So I am sure most of you have seen a few places pop up and more companies starting to offer clones. I must admit, I am in 2 minds about companies doing this, that is besdies the point the. I am curious to find out from those who have purchased clones, what did you get and have you grown it out? How was it? Was the pheno any good? Was it what you expected? Better? Were you a bit disappointed perhaps? If you guys have photos of the clones in flower, would be amazing! Just trying to get a general feel for how you guys feel about it and the quality of the phenos which you ended up with.1 point

Hey Fam, @ORGANinc. @iGrowDagga @Marzcanna @Ill_Evan As the title suggests, a debate on silicon used in either method of growing. Do you use it, why, and how do you use it? Have you found it to work, hamper or cause more issues? Which form of it do you use if so and why? Thank you1 point

So this little decided fuck the cape winter, I am going to live. Might be some heavily seeded northern lights that I just chucked over the balcony. Let’s see how it goes with no intervention Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Ph down is fine. Ph up will cause the silica to precipitate out. I mix about 20ml of silica with 3ml of ph down in a 10l bucket, that gives me a ph of roughly 6.5. That goes into a 150l reservoir & if needed I adjust the ph in the reservoir. I monitor the ppm & ph in the reservoir every few days & adjust when necessary. Those are pistils, you'll sometimes see them on plants in veg if they're mature. Having them in flower likely helped push the plants to show pistils. I wouldn't worry about it at all. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

This is a very interesting recently published article below, with links to scientific reviews. From a layman, farmer, promoter, I think I have struck gold with Durban Poison. Whoever I sent beans to recently via 420sa, you sitting with gold to and hope they grow. Kicks heels. " The origin of cultivated or domesticated cannabis can be traced to East Asia, including parts of modern-day China. The finding challenges previous research stating that cultivated cannabis originated in Central Asia. " "In addition, McKernan et al. found that reads from these genes and pseudogene copies may be mismapped if many pseudogene copies of THCAS and CBDAS were not assembled in a reference genome because the DNA sequences for most of these copies are more than 90% similar with each other. Haha same here man the place is pretty cool. I wanted to take more than 1 plant but only had the cash for one.1 point

I think the one limiting factor for Zimbabwe's jump into the cannabis industry is "investor confidence". Within this century Zimbabwe broke international laws when expropriating farming land and businesses, regardless of the tribal politrix and failed state, these countries investing I am sure are holding back. I am friends with a number of ex zim farmers, who are farming here, and they wont be going back anytime soon, and sadly they all saw South Africa is like a deja vu of Zimbabwe. We are always about 10 years behind the States, and yes when they change something, the whole world adjusts. A good example of mountain outlaw growers would be the Humboldt county, the black market cannot keep up with illegal sales of cannabis and I think SADC is in the same position. Even the legally licensed guys with research permits are taking camping gear, lots of "cooking oil" into Lesotho to bring their product into the legal market because they cant legally sell here.1 point

So the plants were in flower for 10 when I decided to put them back into veg. That puts them at 11 days in reveg now. Anyways I haven't given the plants a good inspection for some time and today I spotted these. Is this leftovers from going into flower or something else? Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk1 point

Since I have been using this blend I treat every deficiency or burn the same way. I do a 5-7 min long flush till the runoff is clear. let it drain for a few minutes then apply 5 litres of water mixed with a hand full of the elemental blend. Seems to work well. I use a lot of extra perlite and good living soil from @GreenGrow Garden Route1 point

Imagine you own such a business, and then you have public news and reports of having such an issue, you wouldn't be around long if that was the case. They have a standard and reputation to uphold, You can get other fenos yes, but they might not always be better, it the chance you take with a seed, and they remove that guess out of the equation. Great discussion actually1 point
-
I'm not sure that would be true, as they would want to sell the best they could, to keep you coming back and to keep themselves in business, I'd think. Would it not be silly to sell something less attractive, if you could? Then those people aren't doing themselves a favor. Like a breeder, who sells their prize winning strains.1 point

Drops in gallons of water? Are you using like sulphuric acid to get the pH to swing that hard?1 point

I love how this page is already on 2 pages! hahaha. Thanks for all the insight guys, this is for sure a learning curve and i'm very fortunate to start my first grow with such a great setup. Had some issues with the watering in the past week, way too much over watering happened. So was struggling a bit to get it sorted. But i believe its fine now. So it gave the plants 15mins of water each day, which resulted in the pic. As you'll see, complete shi* show! But thankfully i got the watering dialed in now, restricted the flow more and also only put the water on a timer for 6mins x twice a day. Let's see how it goes! I honestly believe that I should not add more drippers and such. I'm thinking about getting only a single 600W HPS light to be added to this grow, to ensure enough light and also, to raise the temp a bit in the room as its cold AF! With it being in a garage, didn't think that it'll be such a big concern. Temps are hovering at 23-25 celcius and humidity is at 55%. I take updated pictures of the grow this weekend. Let me know what you guys rate. Side note! I have a small 80x80cm tent in my house, i'm trying this method out to be replicated to the big grow. I've got two Fat Bud's in doing well, under 140w samsung LED with meanwell driver. I am running the Easy2Grow Autopot System. Working like a dream! And feeding them Horticulture Nutrients. Super happy about how they are doing. Will be putting a SCROG in the tent tonight1 point

I do use silica, off the top of my head, Basalt, and barley would be a substantial part of my input, then Diatoms I used to add in the beginning, and have since stopped as I feel it may inhibit microbial activity if over used, similiar situation with the neem... However the two are known for creating a overall healthier rhizoshpere due to its ability to keep pathogens in check. Works well in both forms. I've recently added more than the usual basalt into my mix and happy with the results. Dou you use it... not a question, its quite an essential element, but only one of the many many pieces of the puzzle.1 point

I suppose they could go higher yes, and I might do that, but happy and might just add to the mix a little more as time goes and stay at the max rates I have the supplies at. That they are on is a piece of aluminum extrusion, cut from the medical arms for the pendants I used to manufacture. So huge heat sink. Also keeps them away from the tent material and the heat to not transfer to the tent.1 point
