Once I've released seeds I have no control over who does what with them, and it doesn't bother me either. If anyone finds a plant from my stable that's worth spreading around then it's goal achieved. Getting good weed to the people.8 points

Flower Day 26 Going pretty well thus far through flower. The plant in the middle has been quite a stretcher so I've been having a tough time taming her. Supercropped one of the branches too aggressively and caused it to collapse quite badly, to a point that it can't right itself properly. Will probably need to stake it later on but it's fine now. She's occupying quite a lot of lateral space which I suppose isn't such a bad thing. My favoured pheno right now is Tortoni #2, pictured far right in the below pic. She has the best looking bud development so far. Tortoni #2 (best pheno so far) Tortoni #3 (stretchy one) Tortoni #1 I watered with something a little different last night.... unfermented beer, known as wort. Beer brewing has 3 steps, the mash, the boil and then fermentation. The mash is where you extract all the starches from the malted grain and have the starch converted to sugar by keeping the grains steeped in water within a specific temp range. I had a little excess liquid leftover from the mash I did on the weekend so I thought it would be a good idea to throw this into the next watering. Plenty of good enzymes in there, plus a bit of sugar for the microlife, can only do good I reckon. Two hobbies working in harmony lol7 points

Was reminded of The Haze Club recently and I went to go see what's going on with their case as the outcome will essentially determine and set precedent for the grow club model which would open up all sorts of doors for any reasonable grower. Here's the updates from their side that I've collected: From the above it's clear to me the state has fucked up and are using delay tactics, probably to allow whatever big businesses to setup before they finally release whatever bullshit bill they have under their sleeves to make this all play in their favour. I predict the cannabis club grow model to work in conjunction in a limited capacity alongside big businesses. They will try their best to limit the amounts as not to contest with big business but until big business can sell locally, it's essentially meaningless and grow clubs will have the headstart. Whatever limits they try impose will be impossible to enforce. Also seems like The Haze Club have not been in operation since the initial bust, that's a very very long time not to be in business, and I hope they sue the state for loss of potential business. That's why I think the state is fucked. They have many bills to pay for this. So we will see in September whether they have their day in court or not.5 points

Day 22 of flower , all 3 doing good and think the one I topped is going to be my favourite for now......... but things do change when girls become woman . Rain water and saterday they got a Fire Juice and Probiotic. So far the no real difference with the FF Green bag , 50/50 mix with Green bag and ammended soul and the one just ammended old soil. They share a room with plants coming down in a week or 2 , problem is I want to veg the next batch and can't wait 5 weeks , will see what plan I can make. They seem to be doing a bit better. Although the temps in the tent were below 10c a lot this last week. They had two good feedings with molasses also, so I think this has contributed to them doing better.4 points

Thanks a lot. Haven’t been a focus at all. Just sharing what I do seems to work[emoji106] So had to cut down the supercrop experiment yesterday so I could spray the flower box down. A bit early but not risking anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk4 points

Week 9 Update / Flower Week 3 There was an explosion of growth this week although the bud development seems to be a little behind. Don't know if it's the cold, or something else but it just seems a little more delayed than usual. There are definitive signs of flowering albeit slower on the bud development side. Besides that they look really healthy and full and I'm looking forward to seeing them bloom:4 points

Week 4 of Flower and things aren't looking too bad. Everything is starting to get frosty and pick up weight only the head banger lacking behind but I think with the increased light she might start picking up. I've got 2 new 120w lights as I felt that the 420w wasn't enough but then decided to remove 1 x 90w to start my up my 2nd tent (Something loud coming) I'm excited to see if I can and by how much I can improve my yeild.3 points

If I purchase a plant, any, from a nursery, or any item in life for that matter, once paid for, it becomes your property and item, to do as you please or see fit, clone, sell, break or whatever... Is that ethical, that's another debate all together. Should you reimburse or credit the breeders, that is up to you, and how you want to build a relationship, or not, with that specific breeder, and if they even care at all, I dont know these answers. I'd like to credit them for sure myself, and I do that already.3 points

awee @Weskush these are without a doubt very exceptional little plants! where I used to live in Hermanus I was across the road from the lagoon, we would find millions of these growing along the lagoon beds and river beds when we go walking in the mountains. I think they're just a little sensetive under nursing conditions and if they don't get insects to eat they won't make it anyway, this is why I think people don't use them as pest management. a lot of people grow them in their homes for that reason, but before they can catch 2 flies they usually die. I think growing conditions for these guys and cannabis differ a little too much, these guys don't like intense or any dorect light or wind, they generally grow as "undergrowth" below or within other plants and basically in the shade most of it's life in very very high humidity, you know like areas a lot of insects would naturally be. I have probably had every single carnivorous plant there is out there, now my brother in law is collecting them. I'll show you his collection. at Stellenbosch Botanical Gardens you can see probably the most impressive carnivorous plant display you're ever seen with pitcher plants you can stick your whole arm in! those little droplets that look like trichomes are actual droplets that will stick to your hand when you touch it. this is a "nectar-like" substance that releases a pheromone that attracts the insects and once they get close they can't escape the stickyness and then they curl and fold around the insect. If the plant touches anything or those droplets dry out or somehow rub off the plant also kinda dies because it spends ALL its enery on creating those droplets and they need to replace that by catching a insect. to make it practical to grow these for pest management you would have to grow quite a bunch of them.3 points

Day 56. Last update before harvesting GZ this week. The top buds look so much more ripe then the bottom ones, I considered harvesting them separately but I think I'll just leave the whole plant for 4-5 more days. Low night temperatures making everything go dark purple, lowest so far has been 13.6 degrees. Lemon cheese: Gorilla zkittlez:3 points

@Autoflow3r I think you need to find a way to differentiate what you are offering from what is already available. Every grow is different, some have aircon some do not. Some have dehumidifiers, others do not. Aircons and dehumidifiers, you set to a specific temp or RH and it will run until it reaches that temp or RH and then try and maintain that. No automation required there really. To get something to integrate into these "dumb" devices may be a challenge as there are soo many different makes and models of aircons and dehumidifiers. If you are talking about extraction fans, well, AC Infinity have fans with nice controllers which will adjust the fan speed according to the temp or RH and can even give alarms. I know they have one controller with more functionality, not sure if this controller allows one to do so remotely though. Lots of home automation devices out there, like the Sonoff devices and others which can monitor the temp and RH and allow you to view it world wide and add triggers to turn items on / off if a certain situation is met. ie. If temperature is over 28C, then turn on Fan #1. Majority of these home automation devices will keep logs for you as well, I think on average upto 3 months and most tie into other systems and devices and one can even take it a step further and add cameras with facial recognition and door and window triggers and all sorts of other cool stuff. If you are driving your car, when you get to the garage it must open the garage door. If the wife is driving your car, it must not open the garage door - but this is going deep into home automation now and a little off topic. So, there are already products out there which do this, however there can still be a bit of separation at times. AC Infinity fan does not speak to the sonoff temp & RH device for example - but does it need to? A simpler fan might make more sense, allow it to be turned on / off based on temperatures however most have their extraction running 24/7 anyways. The other issue is cost, how much is it going to cost and how much benefit will growers get from it? Why should they use what you are offering over other products? Perhaps why use it at all? What would be cool is when we start talking full on automation, having a system which will mix nutes for you (you can tell it which chart to base it on) and PH accordingly, adjust height of lights as required as well as the dimming of them... But then there are certain requirements which would need to be in place first, such as water intake for the res to be filled automatically. I believe there are systems out there which can do this, but the price is the issue and the average home grower can generally manage by doing it themselves. I think such a system becomes more of a want or need when you are talking big grow, like commercial scale to help run the facility with fewer staff. Not trying to be negative, just giving some info to think about and maybe take a look into. I am one of the more fortunate growers, I have an AC and a dehumidifier so climate is pretty spot on consistently. My AC Infinity fan, I do not even use the feature to adjust the fan speed based on temp and RH, however I do like the fact that there are 10 speed settings and I use those to help balance intake and exhaust air flow rates but I set it manually. I plan on adding a sonoff type of device to the room so I can remotely monitor the RH and temperatures, although it is more just because I can and the devices are cheap. I am moving over to sonoff POW R2 switches to replace my digital timers as they are around the same price but allow me to turn the lights on / off remotely and view the power usage and do so over a period of a few days / weeks / months and easily adjust the light cycle remotely and not have to mission to get a ladder to get to the timer on top of my tent (where I keep mine and my power supplies). I have an automatic watering system which uses a water pump and airpump which run 24/7, so if I need to go away I just top up the res and that will last a few days without me needing to do anything and I can remotely ensure my lights are on via the POW R2. I think for most watering on time would be the issue, but is easily achieved with an automatic watering system. In a situation like mine, I am not seeing much appeal for a product which you are describing. Even thinking about some of my friends who do not have an AC or dehumidifier, very similar situation and they'd likely go for an automatic watering system before monitoring the temps. Changing temps without a heater or aircon isn't always achievable. You can move as much air as you like, if the air you are bringing is in 26C, you won't get the temps below 26C, same for RH. Welcome to the forum though and please stick around!2 points

Yeah I don't want to give away to much of my game in public domain just to be safe but im hoping to develop some really cool software that will include data collection so that people can really intuitively keep track of their grow and previous grows2 points

So general consensus is that there are certainly some worthy of keeping but not all are hits - which is understandable. Everyone is looking for different things in a strain, nobody wants the same as it gets boring. There is the risk that someone has sprayed / fed the cuttings some serious systemic pesticides to help keep them pest and pathogen free. Then there is the other side, someone has spent time and money breeding a specific strain to be able to sell those seeds and make money from those seeds. These guys selling clones, they're the ones making money off of it and are in essence potentially taking money away from the breeders. However it is very convenient for us growers, as we can spend a fraction of the price (average In House Genetics strain is around high R3k / low R4k for a pack of seeds) and then one still needs to do a bit of pheno hunting. Some other breeders like Ethos you generally need a few packs, so while their seed packs are cheaper you typically need to go through more seeds to find a keeper pheno. When buying cuttings, they are sold at a fraction of the price of a pack of seeds and the pheno hunting has apparently been done already. Value for money, it is extremely appealing. Instead of dropping R4k to get a single strain, one can spend a lot less or get a looot more for your R4k. Makes certain strains and cuts accessible to some growers who would otherwise never be able to grow out some of these strains. It is sort of like piracy, but for strains. This does however make certain strains a lot more common and takes away from them and good phenos being "special". If everyone gets given a Lambo when they turn 18, it is no longer special and doesn't have the same allure. @Totemic You being a breeder yourself, how do you feel about this?2 points

Put to flower May 28th (harvest today) So far the biggest nugs I've seen and if I didnt play around, it would have come out so much better too. I have another coming next round, perfected hopefully.2 points

I agree with @Totemic. On this one. I got clone from CannaClone. Some were beauts and others not so much. I know @GGG grew the same cuts as me and his turnes out awesome where mine was terrible. The one that turned into an amazing plant was the Zweet Inzanity from Ethos. I would recomend this to every one who likes a nice sativa strain. I unfortunately deleted all the pics.2 points

I had a look through the thread, and I'd say other than my previous comments. You might likely have packed so much food into that soil, and will assume you have not been doing a plain water feed, or doing runoff feeds, and have built up too much in there now, from the very dark leaves and now Getting lockout.2 points

Morning folks. Day 53 of flower and I took out the ladies for some inspection and feedingone thing that really stands out for me is the fact that it seems the clones are maturing quicker than the mother plants? Pride and joy currently in the clone stable is the Palomino. I love the fact that the sugar leaves are cupping with excessive trichome. Just looks beautiful.2 points

@Twix Aphen I stumbled upon the same info when doing my research, there is the umbrella effect when watering and with the root ball etc. They can often hide underneath the root ball where the pesticide may not get to them, hence I think multiple continuous application may be required to ensure they are all completely gone. Alternatively, at least try keep them at bay and away from the veg area and dispose of the medium after flower and try ensure the veg area is clean and root aphid free. I really do not want to cull my plants, however I am really not keen on using neonicotinoid's like imidacloprid or organophosphate like Acephate / Orthene. The most common pesticide for aphids seems to be imidacloprid though - perfectly fine for ornamental plants in and around the house, however for crops which one consumes I feel it may be best to avoid using. However so far so good it seems, not seeing them crawling around and the cuttings seem to be doing well and did not see any live ones remaining on the cuttings. Will do another application of Bio-Insek & Bio-Neem this week. I think I must do the same and only use a smaller amount of liquid as a "soil drench" with the pesticides to help reduce costs and to be able to continue to do it on a regular basis. Perhaps 1L per 20L pot.1 point

What's up dude. Great idea man. I'm also super into the whole remote control thing. I'm still abit of a noob but I manage a few simple things using sonoff switches. They're great. Have had really good success with them. I could be 300km away working and I could monitor some of the basic elements of a perpetual grow. 1) I use a sonoff switch and temp gauge to monitor the temp in my propagation chamber. It switches a heating pad on and off. I keep it at 20 - 24 Celsius. All the little clones love it. Helps alot in the cold winters. 2) I use a sonoff switch, humidity gauge and an extractor fan to control my humidity in both my flowering and vegging tents. Each having their own switch, humidity sensor and extractor. I use a humidifier in the vegetative/mother tent to keep humidity nice and high and then the sonoff will switch the extractor on and off, keeping it at about 65% humidity. The flowering tent has no humidifier and the switch puts the extractor on and off keeping the humidity at 45-55% humidity. Depending on where in the cycle the flowers are. And all these sonoff switches are pretty smart. Known as smart switches. They keep logs of when they switch on and off. You can also remotely change parameters. It's really great.1 point
