The One has stretched to the point where I feel I needed to get her under a net. I was thinking of using wire or even super cropping but since I've been harvesting I now have more space in the flower tent to focus on her more. I've spread the branches as much as I felt comfortable tonight but I'll try getting the net just a tiny bit lower to get a little bit more light to the lowest nodes, also maybe a minor defoliation needed in the middle I have an extra LED available since harvesting that I have added to get her through flowering properly, seeing as she's so eager to grow.10 points

4 week mark, this competition is flying by. The girls got a hefty feed, 1 tsp molasses, fulvic extract, aminos, microbes & full dose kelpak, they starting to yellow out on the bottom growth, slightly on the smaller 2, quite a bit on the big girl. The plant in the back has been pulled apart for more penetration. I’ll be doing a fish 1ml per liter + 1/2 tsp Epsom, every Wednesday from today onwards, additional to my usual feed9 points

First Day of Week 13 Update They got 2 liters of 1/3/4 (Grow/Bloom/Top Max) and 4ml per 10 liter Amino Boost Tarryn Sisa Forgot.. flower tent got a Serenade Spray7 points

Morning growmies.. So I spotted some WPM when giving the girls a clean up and microbe and sea weed drench.. So I sprayed some sulpher mixed with water and Dish washing liquid. It seems to have stopped it in its spores.. How far into flower is it safe to spray sulpher? Airflow and ventilation I am now learning is a very important part of indoor.. Far more than what I expected.. Stay safe and happy growing..5 points

July 23 - 30: They got freshly caught rain water this week. Nothing added. From this camera (above), left to right: #1, #3, #2. 31 July. 4 weeks into 12/12 Won't lie I get quite excited to peek into the tent when lights come on so frosty ❄ Purple shades continue to appear on the leaves across #2 however I'm not seeing any clear signs of distress and buds are developing so gonna let it play out and see what happens with that. From front on, left to right: #2, #3, #1 Look over here, no I mean over here: Last few days humidity has been spiking a bit high for my liking when lights go off. Going to setup the heater outside the tent but near the air intake to raise temps and lower humidity a bit but not risk proximity to the heater being as much of a threat as inside the tent. Thinking of transferring one of the Tortoni clones outdoor when sun comes round and target a 200L pot by end of the year... proper Chistmas tree... who wants to see it grow-diaried here on the forum? I took clones from #1 and #3... I've never tried anything beyond 80L, nevermind a 200L pot before but keen to grow a monster or go grey trying.5 points

One of my major concerns with my Autopot watering system is that the top layer of coco is always dry. You read all about how bad it is for coco to dry out, yet Autopot doesn’t recommend top watering in Autopots because they are a bottom-up wicking system, and salts that concentrate in the upper strata are best not flushed downwards towards the root zone. Each 11 litre pot has an air dome to feed air to the root zone. The air dome gets partially buried in clay pebbles between 2.5 and 5cm deep. Then the rest is the medium, in my case Freedom farms F1 which is a craft “soil”, mostly coco perlite with some amendments. Anyway after my last grow I carefully lifted the medium out of one of the pots for some analysis. Here are some pics: This is a side view. The pot had been out of the watering tray for a couple of days, so may have dried out a bit already. Nevertheless you can see three distinct zones, the dry top, the middle being moist coco, and then the bottom layer which is almost always permanently in feed water, this layer is dominated by wet clay pebbles and roots. This is what happens inside the air dome. The roots are almost in a deep water culture here, almost always submerged in liquid with air bubbles from an air pump. Here you see the bottom of the pot with the air dome still in place. I have to say this system seems to work. There is a healthy root mass and surely that’s what matters most. A last fun pic. See how the stem has grown out of the jiffy pellet.3 points

Gonna follow everyone's advice and veg for longer. Little observation after reading comments on the re-veg. My plants battled in the beginning due to big pots and water retention. Then I flipped to flower on the recommended date. 10 days later put back into veg as I saw major problems growth wise. Here's my thoughts. I think my plants were so shocked for whatever reasons which resulted in stunted growth. They were in a state of shock still when I flipped to flower. 10 days later I realized with help from you guys to re-veg. Then I replanted into fabric bags. Plants started recovering. Thing is. Due to whatever stress the plants were going through did they actually go into flower in those 10 days due to their condition? I've got what looks like pistels but no re-veg signs ie: single leaf's after 2 weeks and the plants are booming now. Sent from my DRA-LX5 using Tapatalk3 points

Update for day 62. I harvested the GZ on day 60. The plan was to let the medium dry out then do 48 hours of darkness, but she was completely done drinking a week ago I think, it took 5 days before I felt any difference in the weight of the pot. So I think she kinda died and I should've harvested on day 56 instead of giving it the final flush. The sad root ball in the pic below explains the stunted growth, it basically grew in 2 litres of soil, inside another 15 litres. I'm guessing this strain's roots are just more sensitive to colder temps, and/or sensitive to over watering and soil compacting. Next time I will add a little more perlite and not water so much immediately after a transplant. Funny because the LC received the exact same over watering and cold temps and seems to be 100%. I guess that's where the real experience and art of growing comes in, knowing why, when and how to deviate from the textbook. I'm paranoid about losing the harvest to mold or rot because ambient room humidity in the cape right now is 75-80%. So I have them hanging in a dark bathroom right next to a slightly open window and there is a desk fan in the corner making sure there is no time for one mold spore to settle! (fan is not blowing directly on the buds, but they do sway in the wind slightly) Franco's Lemon Cheese is coming along nicely. I don't get much lemon smell at all, there's a little bit of fruitiness but mostly just sweet, earthy, CHEESE. From what I've read this strain usually goes well past the breeder's minimum of 9 weeks. But maybe because of the cold and this pheno leaning towards the cheese/skunk side it might finish asap? My total noob guess is that harvest is 4-5 days away, which will be the middle of week 10. I know the best way to tell is to look at magnified trichomes but I don't have one of those loupe things and budget is tight as usual. I appreciate any advice that can be given here, based off these shitty pics. (already bad quality then it gets compressed again when uploaded) Bottom buds, these are very soft and squeezable still. Apologies again for the kak pics.2 points

And the winner is Canna Pro Amino Boost Harvest difference was very slim, 1.5g ahead of the Bio Heaven Potency difference was also very small but both times Amino Boost won. One pair had 0.2% more potency and other pair 0.7% stronger then Bio Heaven Bio Heaven is not as good as Amino Boost... but a lot more expensive... A LOT!!! Get yourself a bottle of Canna Pro Amino Boost.... those 150 rand are very well invested!! Just replace the Bio Heaven with Amino Boost and use exactly the same way. I didnt do any Ph on the full grow with FF green bag soil.2 points

So just a peek at what is flowering right now, I posted a pic of her earlier in the thread. This plant is from a clone of a seed, Bubba Kush, that Totemic gifted me a while back. I was impressed with her the first time around so decided to clone and give her a chance in a dwc. Hortimix nutes and an oldschool 400hps,my last hps grow ever [emoji24] I moved her into the tent 4weeks ago after she started showing signs of flowering. I estimate she is in week 6 of flowering, what do you guys think? She consumes 2 litres a day, need to top up daily [emoji16] Sent from my SM-A715F using Tapatalk2 points

So found a spot or two of WPM. My own fault as with the electricity installation and swop around in the dungeon, I haven’t put the extractor fan onto the flower box. The vegging plants are fine. Off for more h2o2 then. #1 The runt #2 still vegging. Need a cleanup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Plants look great man . Sulphur leaves a residue , or the one I use , my pots that had overspray on it needs to be washed of with a cloth , doesn't come of with just wiping , but I left it the pot like that for a few weeks. I only use in veg . Sent from my Hisense Infinity H50 using Tapatalk1 point

Just an update on this topic. I've been using these 50watt floodlights in a small vegging tent and seems to be doing the job wonderfully. Many plants have passed by under these lights. I haven't changed them for almost a year now. Also added some cheap led bars to the top of the veg tent keeping the mothers happy. These lights would be a great alternative to anyone starting a grow and looking for cheap veg lights. They're also easy to wire up.1 point

I add a layer of perlite on top of my pots in autopots. Seems to keep the top of the soil moist1 point

For the PM, use KHC03 until the 3rd day before harvest AQSF is good, Double Nickel, okay, leaves residue you must wash off Jadam wetting agent, until about 2 weeks before H.1 point

I pollnated some girls 4 weeks in and had to harvest early due to WPM and some other issues.. So the flower was polinated for almost 3 weeks and I got no seads at all not even under developed seeds.. So seed wise I really do not think you have to worry.. As was said.. I could also not really say that trichome production or potency was influenced.. I imagined myself that the terpene profile was intesified somewhat..1 point

Everyone has a different way of doing their defol, I literally strip my plants bare before I flip. Remove anything from node 3 and below and put them straight into flower. Then around week 2 or 3 into flower, after a lot of the stretch has happened they're bushes again and another defol is required to open the canopy and allow the light to penetrate and shine on the buds. Doing this helps prevent fluff and skits, if you want the fluff and skits then keep a few more nodes when doing the defol.1 point

I hear what you are saying and sounds like you have a good mind for business, something I am still working on. I am however aware none of these options have really specialised features for indoor gardening … something im working really hard to add into what I to offer to make it worth it for the buyer. I also believe in not overpricing products because at the end of the day only one person wins where as hundreds could have so like i said my target market will be hobbyist growers and I will assure that it will be fairly priced for consumers that fit that description. Anyways just wanted to say the feedback you guys have been giving me is interesting and great and gives me plenty toe work on ! Thanks guys.1 point

Day 22 of flower , all 3 doing good and think the one I topped is going to be my favourite for now......... but things do change when girls become woman . Rain water and saterday they got a Fire Juice and Probiotic. So far the no real difference with the FF Green bag , 50/50 mix with Green bag and ammended soul and the one just ammended old soil. They share a room with plants coming down in a week or 2 , problem is I want to veg the next batch and can't wait 5 weeks , will see what plan I can make. @Autoflow3r I think you need to find a way to differentiate what you are offering from what is already available. Every grow is different, some have aircon some do not. Some have dehumidifiers, others do not. Aircons and dehumidifiers, you set to a specific temp or RH and it will run until it reaches that temp or RH and then try and maintain that. No automation required there really. To get something to integrate into these "dumb" devices may be a challenge as there are soo many different makes and models of aircons and dehumidifiers. If you are talking about extraction fans, well, AC Infinity have fans with nice controllers which will adjust the fan speed according to the temp or RH and can even give alarms. I know they have one controller with more functionality, not sure if this controller allows one to do so remotely though. Lots of home automation devices out there, like the Sonoff devices and others which can monitor the temp and RH and allow you to view it world wide and add triggers to turn items on / off if a certain situation is met. ie. If temperature is over 28C, then turn on Fan #1. Majority of these home automation devices will keep logs for you as well, I think on average upto 3 months and most tie into other systems and devices and one can even take it a step further and add cameras with facial recognition and door and window triggers and all sorts of other cool stuff. If you are driving your car, when you get to the garage it must open the garage door. If the wife is driving your car, it must not open the garage door - but this is going deep into home automation now and a little off topic. So, there are already products out there which do this, however there can still be a bit of separation at times. AC Infinity fan does not speak to the sonoff temp & RH device for example - but does it need to? A simpler fan might make more sense, allow it to be turned on / off based on temperatures however most have their extraction running 24/7 anyways. The other issue is cost, how much is it going to cost and how much benefit will growers get from it? Why should they use what you are offering over other products? Perhaps why use it at all? What would be cool is when we start talking full on automation, having a system which will mix nutes for you (you can tell it which chart to base it on) and PH accordingly, adjust height of lights as required as well as the dimming of them... But then there are certain requirements which would need to be in place first, such as water intake for the res to be filled automatically. I believe there are systems out there which can do this, but the price is the issue and the average home grower can generally manage by doing it themselves. I think such a system becomes more of a want or need when you are talking big grow, like commercial scale to help run the facility with fewer staff. Not trying to be negative, just giving some info to think about and maybe take a look into. I am one of the more fortunate growers, I have an AC and a dehumidifier so climate is pretty spot on consistently. My AC Infinity fan, I do not even use the feature to adjust the fan speed based on temp and RH, however I do like the fact that there are 10 speed settings and I use those to help balance intake and exhaust air flow rates but I set it manually. I plan on adding a sonoff type of device to the room so I can remotely monitor the RH and temperatures, although it is more just because I can and the devices are cheap. I am moving over to sonoff POW R2 switches to replace my digital timers as they are around the same price but allow me to turn the lights on / off remotely and view the power usage and do so over a period of a few days / weeks / months and easily adjust the light cycle remotely and not have to mission to get a ladder to get to the timer on top of my tent (where I keep mine and my power supplies). I have an automatic watering system which uses a water pump and airpump which run 24/7, so if I need to go away I just top up the res and that will last a few days without me needing to do anything and I can remotely ensure my lights are on via the POW R2. I think for most watering on time would be the issue, but is easily achieved with an automatic watering system. In a situation like mine, I am not seeing much appeal for a product which you are describing. Even thinking about some of my friends who do not have an AC or dehumidifier, very similar situation and they'd likely go for an automatic watering system before monitoring the temps. Changing temps without a heater or aircon isn't always achievable. You can move as much air as you like, if the air you are bringing is in 26C, you won't get the temps below 26C, same for RH. Welcome to the forum though and please stick around!1 point

Flower Day 26 Going pretty well thus far through flower. The plant in the middle has been quite a stretcher so I've been having a tough time taming her. Supercropped one of the branches too aggressively and caused it to collapse quite badly, to a point that it can't right itself properly. Will probably need to stake it later on but it's fine now. She's occupying quite a lot of lateral space which I suppose isn't such a bad thing. My favoured pheno right now is Tortoni #2, pictured far right in the below pic. She has the best looking bud development so far. Tortoni #2 (best pheno so far) Tortoni #3 (stretchy one) Tortoni #1 I watered with something a little different last night.... unfermented beer, known as wort. Beer brewing has 3 steps, the mash, the boil and then fermentation. The mash is where you extract all the starches from the malted grain and have the starch converted to sugar by keeping the grains steeped in water within a specific temp range. I had a little excess liquid leftover from the mash I did on the weekend so I thought it would be a good idea to throw this into the next watering. Plenty of good enzymes in there, plus a bit of sugar for the microlife, can only do good I reckon. Two hobbies working in harmony lol1 point

They seem to be doing a bit better. Although the temps in the tent were below 10c a lot this last week. They had two good feedings with molasses also, so I think this has contributed to them doing better.1 point

I had a look through the thread, and I'd say other than my previous comments. You might likely have packed so much food into that soil, and will assume you have not been doing a plain water feed, or doing runoff feeds, and have built up too much in there now, from the very dark leaves and now Getting lockout.1 point

Week 3 of flower, pulled lots of leaves yesterday. I feel as they they are somewhat behind, maybe a lag somewhere along the line. Will postpone feed to tomorrow if that, might leave it another week. Happy so far, not sure how much stretch is left.1 point
