They are cruising along beautifully now, just slowly feeding home made inputs that my friend @anotherzolkop (Instagram only atm) made for us. Finally figured out my camera settings as well, super crisp pictures to come from now on!8 points

Week 10 Update / Flower Week 4 It has been a joy opening the tent every day to find something new. It also really cool to see that all 3 plants are very different. The hydro girls They love to eat and drink, they're loving their EC a little higher now during flower between 1.8-2 seems to be golden. Anything less and they go pale green, anything more and the tips burn a little. These plants grow like crazy, thick thick stems with older fans much bigger than my hand. Ms Organic Classic and dainty, she grows out perfectly with beautiful buds. If she were a person she'd be calm, collected and walk with class and grace. Some pics: Tent view: Bud close ups showing the different expressions: T1 - Back right: T2 - Back left T3 - Front left7 points

Banana 1 week hanging, storage room goes dark, rh50-60%, temperatures in there go from 17 to 25°C Canopy now, the banana took quite a lot of space Zkittle 1, signs of fade coming on with a bit of nute burn Zkittle 2, quite a bit of fade on lower part of plant already, haven't looked at trichomes, will probably do so during the week. Zkittle 3, absolutely no fade yet, instead she's turning a little purple and like I said, small buds but best smells coming from her out of the 3. Super Lemon OG, also started to fade over the weekend.5 points

Update: recovering nicely an pleasantly surprised. Did some cropping and a watering and will leave them there until Wednesday and give them a feeding of some nutrients and molasses. For now, just pleasedthey are pulling through. I did however lose a few branches here and there but better than the whole crop.5 points

Update for day 62. I harvested the GZ on day 60. The plan was to let the medium dry out then do 48 hours of darkness, but she was completely done drinking a week ago I think, it took 5 days before I felt any difference in the weight of the pot. So I think she kinda died and I should've harvested on day 56 instead of giving it the final flush. The sad root ball in the pic below explains the stunted growth, it basically grew in 2 litres of soil, inside another 15 litres. I'm guessing this strain's roots are just more sensitive to colder temps, and/or sensitive to over watering and soil compacting. Next time I will add a little more perlite and not water so much immediately after a transplant. Funny because the LC received the exact same over watering and cold temps and seems to be 100%. I guess that's where the real experience and art of growing comes in, knowing why, when and how to deviate from the textbook. I'm paranoid about losing the harvest to mold or rot because ambient room humidity in the cape right now is 75-80%. So I have them hanging in a dark bathroom right next to a slightly open window and there is a desk fan in the corner making sure there is no time for one mold spore to settle! (fan is not blowing directly on the buds, but they do sway in the wind slightly) Franco's Lemon Cheese is coming along nicely. I don't get much lemon smell at all, there's a little bit of fruitiness but mostly just sweet, earthy, CHEESE. From what I've read this strain usually goes well past the breeder's minimum of 9 weeks. But maybe because of the cold and this pheno leaning towards the cheese/skunk side it might finish asap? My total noob guess is that harvest is 4-5 days away, which will be the middle of week 10. I know the best way to tell is to look at magnified trichomes but I don't have one of those loupe things and budget is tight as usual. I appreciate any advice that can be given here, based off these shitty pics. (already bad quality then it gets compressed again when uploaded) Bottom buds, these are very soft and squeezable still. Apologies again for the kak pics.5 points

Yeah that was my main reasoning for crossing in the chocolate Gelato that is very compact... To reduce the stretch. I was only expecting Gelato terp profiles with the F2 seeds I've just harvested, but was surprised that the gelato terp profile dominates more frequently at the F1s already.4 points

Is one of those fertilizers.. they do all perfect Page itself recommends to use it as foilar feed.. the content of the product MULTIGRO contains nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, sulphur, magnesium, iron, copper, zinc, manganese, boron and molybdenum. Is very much open to all possible fuckups.. i don't think is magnesium.. as the product he gave contains it. Ph might be bye bye.. I would suggest to flush the stuff out and use a proper cannabis fertilizer.. where you know what ratio of NPK you actually give the plant. They don't even give any ratio on the website, what is inside but not how much of each.. this fertilizer is a no go zone for Cannabis.. to much guessing involved my 5 cent to the issue3 points

got a compliment from Qure and the Futurama guys.. had the small slab with.. but machine refused to give a test result.. concentrates.. not hash. But they use the same testing method as CanaBliss (photo spectroscopy, just a Humbold machine, not the Israeli version, also 4 times the price of the machine Canabill uses.. way way faster in giving results).. and confirmed, the results fit, you just get way less information compared to a proper laboratory test. The ranking list is still the top around 21.xx% (I think was 03, CanaBliss was 20.something last time i was there).. ^^ seems to be the limit SA growers can pack out.. come on boys and girls.. we can reach 25%... show meeeeeeee!3 points

And the winner is Canna Pro Amino Boost Harvest difference was very slim, 1.5g ahead of the Bio Heaven Potency difference was also very small but both times Amino Boost won. One pair had 0.2% more potency and other pair 0.7% stronger then Bio Heaven Bio Heaven is not as good as Amino Boost... but a lot more expensive... A LOT!!! Get yourself a bottle of Canna Pro Amino Boost.... those 150 rand are very well invested!! Just replace the Bio Heaven with Amino Boost and use exactly the same way. I didnt do any Ph on the full grow with FF green bag soil.3 points

4 week mark, this competition is flying by. The girls got a hefty feed, 1 tsp molasses, fulvic extract, aminos, microbes & full dose kelpak, they starting to yellow out on the bottom growth, slightly on the smaller 2, quite a bit on the big girl. The plant in the back has been pulled apart for more penetration. I’ll be doing a fish 1ml per liter + 1/2 tsp Epsom, every Wednesday from today onwards, additional to my usual feed3 points

They will be moved outdoors in about a week.. Need to finish up a little greenhouse/ nethouse for them.. There is just no space indoors and this will form part of their torture to see what they do.. There is excactly one weeks difference between the larger one and the other 2..2 points

That looks like what the 10 days of flower would have done. Those are all calyxes from what I can see, and not balls if you are concerned. Just stick to the veg cycle until you are ready to flip2 points

Looking good. That crazy stretch happens to a lot of the in house strains I've grown, including the slurricane. Keen to see the bud once it's fully developed. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk2 points

Without seeing the trichomes colours, it's near impossible to say whether they're ready or not. How long ago since all the pistils were white? When did the bud stop fattening up? Usually around 3 weeks to go after the above happens (pistils are no longer white and the bud is finished fattening up). At this point its just a waiting game as the trichomes need to mature and this stage plays one of the biggest roles in determine what type of effects you're going to get. Too early can feel less potent, make one paranoid, wake up groggy the next morning etc. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk2 points

Im getting the graphs from Switchbot app on my phone... Switchbot hydrometer - via Bluetooth can sync to your phone. Runs on batteries. https://www.geewiz.co.za/smart-home-accessories/122389-switchbot-thermometer-hygrometer-wireless-temperature-humidity-sensor-with-home-assistant.html Some say I'm lazy, I say I'm an effort efficiency freak. So in order to monitor remotely beyond Bluetooth range... the sensor syncs to cloud and therefore also to the app on my phone by connecting the sensor to this hub - https://www.geewiz.co.za/smart-home-accessories/108860-switchbot-hub-mini-smart-remote-works-with-alexa-google-home-siri-ifttt-.html I'm not sure this is the best or most cost effective solution to tick those boxes if that's all you want but a factor in why I went this route was because the bigger plan is to get one of these to switch the heater on based on temp+humidity sensor readings. https://www.geewiz.co.za/smart-home-accessories/107823-switchbot-wifi-smart-switch-button.html I find it fun to play with automation gadgets like this so when there is an opportunity to incorporate it into my grow then even better. It is however rather reassuring to be able to go away for a bit and by the power of WiFi cams and sensors I can be confident from anywhere with signal that my experiment in the garage hasn't burnt the house down [emoji119] Its the small things you know. Can also give instructions to your plant-babysitters from your phone through the WiFi cam if you are a control freak like that [emoji14] Sorry for the product links if that's not allowed, promise I have no commercial interests with Switchbot or Geewiz [emoji3] Sent from my SM-G998B using Tapatalk2 points

Just an update on this topic. I've been using these 50watt floodlights in a small vegging tent and seems to be doing the job wonderfully. Many plants have passed by under these lights. I haven't changed them for almost a year now. Also added some cheap led bars to the top of the veg tent keeping the mothers happy. These lights would be a great alternative to anyone starting a grow and looking for cheap veg lights. They're also easy to wire up.2 points

Update: Week 5 of flower The plants are getting pretty big now. Flowers are starting to come along as well. I'll try get a few pics of these two outside in the sun tomorrow morning if possible. Hard to see the full plants like this2 points

July 23 - 30: They got freshly caught rain water this week. Nothing added. From this camera (above), left to right: #1, #3, #2. 31 July. 4 weeks into 12/12 Won't lie I get quite excited to peek into the tent when lights come on so frosty ❄ Purple shades continue to appear on the leaves across #2 however I'm not seeing any clear signs of distress and buds are developing so gonna let it play out and see what happens with that. From front on, left to right: #2, #3, #1 Look over here, no I mean over here: Last few days humidity has been spiking a bit high for my liking when lights go off. Going to setup the heater outside the tent but near the air intake to raise temps and lower humidity a bit but not risk proximity to the heater being as much of a threat as inside the tent. Thinking of transferring one of the Tortoni clones outdoor when sun comes round and target a 200L pot by end of the year... proper Chistmas tree... who wants to see it grow-diaried here on the forum? I took clones from #1 and #3... I've never tried anything beyond 80L, nevermind a 200L pot before but keen to grow a monster or go grey trying.2 points

Good old Jo. I wonder what he is up to. I believe bongalong has new owners? Sorry for opening up an old topic, but how is this for luck. Saw some smoke coming from a neighbours abandoned house, went to go investigate, not to sure who started the blaze, but threw some sand over it and was looking at all the trash that the mad mutt left lying around and guess what i found. A bongalong v1 in great condition. Thank you very much.2 points

Yeah, getting something to see the trichomes is a must I feel. 60 days is a really quick flower. I'd say leave until week 10 as this is more average for most strains. Sent from my Redmi Note 7 Pro using Tapatalk1 point

what's up Hooper, the way they curling there seems to be more canoeing and only little bit of clawing. The two differ a bit in that the canoeing is a signal of either heat and/or low RH stress or the onset of Magnesium deficiency. Clawing will begin in the early stages of Nitrogen toxicity. You got bit of both aswell as slight discoloration on the leaves. I haven't used any ecobuz products, had a quick look at the multigrow and I see 5ml product to 5L water is recommended dose, so that shouldn't be the problem. First two questions I have for you, you got a ph pen? You got a ppm pen? Can help us a lot right now. If not, you gona have to tell us more. Cause it may be heat stress, what are your temps mornings, noons and nights? What medium? What feeding regime? What foliar regime? You got other plants of same genetics growing there aswell?1 point

Happy Sunday gays and gals.. So the DQ & DQxS is both male.. It's dissapointing but I hope the plants gifted @HappyGrower will have some fems ammong them.. This opens up the tent a bit more and give the comp girls and the fems from Totemic a bit more breathing room. The Grape Gorilla is a awesome plant.. The Chockolate Gelato Fem.. Double Sunset Fems.. So far the Freedom Farms PC and Super Frass mix is doing good for me.. They only get microbes and seaweed mix once a week.. Seaweed foliar feed and microbe foliar twice a week.. and that's basically all they'll get to the end to see how much the Super Frass can do..1 point

Decided to give the full Canna Pro range a go and compare it with BioBizz.. will pick up a set (Mega 3 bottle set and Silicone additional to the Amino Boost) this coming week.. and might just let them compete with a batch of Lemon OG Haze I run from Nirvana anyhow. Local product... rather cool still have a smile on my face from the cost reduction to kick Bio Heaven out of the cabinet1 point

One of my major concerns with my Autopot watering system is that the top layer of coco is always dry. You read all about how bad it is for coco to dry out, yet Autopot doesn’t recommend top watering in Autopots because they are a bottom-up wicking system, and salts that concentrate in the upper strata are best not flushed downwards towards the root zone. Each 11 litre pot has an air dome to feed air to the root zone. The air dome gets partially buried in clay pebbles between 2.5 and 5cm deep. Then the rest is the medium, in my case Freedom farms F1 which is a craft “soil”, mostly coco perlite with some amendments. Anyway after my last grow I carefully lifted the medium out of one of the pots for some analysis. Here are some pics: This is a side view. The pot had been out of the watering tray for a couple of days, so may have dried out a bit already. Nevertheless you can see three distinct zones, the dry top, the middle being moist coco, and then the bottom layer which is almost always permanently in feed water, this layer is dominated by wet clay pebbles and roots. This is what happens inside the air dome. The roots are almost in a deep water culture here, almost always submerged in liquid with air bubbles from an air pump. Here you see the bottom of the pot with the air dome still in place. I have to say this system seems to work. There is a healthy root mass and surely that’s what matters most. A last fun pic. See how the stem has grown out of the jiffy pellet.1 point

I'm on my first run with autopots. Only the surface of my soil is dry but 2cm in its moist. I don't use airdomes1 point

i use Coco, i dont recommend using soil with autopots (altho you can)1 point

So found a spot or two of WPM. My own fault as with the electricity installation and swop around in the dungeon, I haven’t put the extractor fan onto the flower box. The vegging plants are fine. Off for more h2o2 then. #1 The runt #2 still vegging. Need a cleanup. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

The One has stretched to the point where I feel I needed to get her under a net. I was thinking of using wire or even super cropping but since I've been harvesting I now have more space in the flower tent to focus on her more. I've spread the branches as much as I felt comfortable tonight but I'll try getting the net just a tiny bit lower to get a little bit more light to the lowest nodes, also maybe a minor defoliation needed in the middle I have an extra LED available since harvesting that I have added to get her through flowering properly, seeing as she's so eager to grow.1 point

Standing here looking at the plants I think I may just have to flip this weekend. Possibility I might run out of height.1 point

I do. Only because it's so cold at night right now. Lights on at 6pm and off 6am. From 6am to 6pm I have a heater fan blowing towards the intakes which is connected to a temp controller with the extraction fan always on to keep temps up.1 point

Eish! Sorry capn!! Look at me slipping at the end!! Coe now Richard you're better than that Alright so full on flower pom poms now and so far so good. Must note they the cola leaves on most peeps flowering plants come out small and aren't really getting much bigger... Not sure if this is a fault of my own or what, but yea, just an observation.1 point

Frozen Monday update: I did the last bit of defoliation on Sunday to try get maximum light exposure to all bud sites. The ladies are looking really good and surviving the big freeze we're in.1 point

Took the banana out the tent for a closer look, the whole plant flopping over, cut into a bud to get these photos she'll be coming down tonight. she's already heavy indica so early flower for her at almost no amber trichomes at all mostly cloudy with a few clear ones here and there. rest of the plants got few weeks to go still1 point

Day 55, took a few photos. You can start to see the difference in the Zkittle phenos, so I put them as 1, 2 and 3 Zkittle 1, whole plant with light on, the bulkiest of the 3 phenos, would say the she stinks more but is a bit less resinous. normal light close up phones macro option Zkittle 2, light on whole plant, shortest and over all smalles of the 3, bit more frost, but think nr 3 is frostiest? normal light whole plant close up phones macro option phones macro option with flash Zkittle 3, light on whole plant, she's the tallest and stretchiest of the 3, but looks like slowest with bud development or she's just gona make more, smaller buds, we'll see close up phones macro option Super Lemon OG, whole plant light on, I really like the look and smell of this plant! normal light whole plant close up phones macro option Banana Hammock, whole plant light on, everything that's purple, stretched out over the whole tent whole plant normal light close up light on phones macro option, light on phones macro option, normal light add on - almost forgot a photo of the canopy Here is the veg tent. ladies potted into 20L and one 30L, one month left in here then moved over to flower tent.1 point
