I'd really like to thank @Thrive for the visit today, it was a blessing to meet with you. Cant wait to try the sample soil and give an honest side by side comparison. There wasnt a doubt in my mind that I needed the Wood Vinegar, and bought one myself to try out, and have got such faith already in this product, in what it can achieve, that I have asked to be an ambassador and supplier of it, in the EC. With safe application throughout flower... Wouldnt you want your harvest to Thrive?

What's up growmies. I purchased a scrog a while back and never ended up using it. One of my biggest concerns was that the squares between the strings were too big for my liking. They were roughly about 25cm to 30cm big and wanted something smaller. So I went and collected a few things around the house and bought a couple things here and there. So firstly I cut 4x pieces of 1.2m pvc conduit piping (25mm). 4x corners for those pipes too. I built a big square that would fit into my 1.2m tent. Please note all measurements are rough estimates as my tent wasn't exactly 1.2m. The inner sides of the tent poles is what I used as my size which was slightly smaller than 1.2m. I drilled holes along the conduit piping and drilled them straight through. I decided to tie each string individually about 11cm apart. The reason I went with the individual string instead of one long string that gets weaved is simply because if one of my strings break, the whole rig doesn't come down. If one breaks, just that line will be broken and can then be repaired seperately. I decided to use string I bought at a hardware shop. The string is used for shade cloth, gardens etc. One packet of 30m cost R30. So was pretty cheap. I had some steel ferrels that I had left over from another project. I cut them in half with a steel saw (super cramps in the hands trying to hold with a pliers and saw. Use vice grip if you have). I only used about 18x ferrels. Made my squares about 11cm apart. I made a little knot the one side and then took it through the other side (making sure there's not too much tension) which I then used the ferrels to keep them taut (by squishing them with a side-cutter. Just not too hard that you cut through). The pvc pipe bends easily so check your previous lines as you go, not to make them too tight. Once you have finished one side of, let's say the vertical side, when stringing towards the other sides horizontally, make sure to go over and under the vertical strings. I ended up using some cable ties just to tie down my DIY scrog to the tent poles. I'll be using this scrog to keep 4 plants down. This is from inspiration purely from this forum. Some of the guys that have made their own scrogs have done some nice ones. As I mentioned, there are plenty of different kinds of material, methods and ideas that can be used to do this. This is just one of them.

None of the Pineapple Express we tested actually made it in the mother tent. Went compost heap... potent yes, Pineapple flavor.. nope... bye bye I kept 2 mothers from the Cream Caramel batch. One kicked very hard, the other had a lovely sweet caramel flavor.. growing a bigger batch with training. Very very giggly weed. Main reason to keep it. Just grows veeeeeeery slow and super compact. I very much enjoy the Deluxe Sugarcane... a lot more as my Slurricane pheno. The DS will replace the Slurri.. very similar grow behavoir, the DS just tastes 10 times more interesting, both potent, no complains on that part.

Girls were outside quick for some plain water. And looking good.

I think the picture makes it look bigger than it is, combined with the fact that I have squeezed a "few" more plants than usual inside the tent. I was able to do this because of the plants I got given did not get much training so it's a few colas which are pretty straight and lanky combined with the fact that they're inside smaller plastic pots... I could squeeze more plants and pots inside the tent and the angle makes it seem like a sea of green. lol In person it is a bit different. My problem has always been the plants in the back, you'd think getting 1.2m deep inside a tent wouldn't be too much of a mission - I like to make sure the tent is full as real estate is precious, so more often than not it is a bit of a mission but one I have become use to and learn how to manage a bit better. Automatic watering helps and staggering the tent helps too (ie. Not filling it all in one go), this helps ensure that you harvest half the tent while the other half still has a few weeks to go and give you time to get plants in, let them stretch and then defol before you put the other plants from the veg tent into flower. I am really excited for this harvest, this week I am going to do another drench with some pesticides to ensure the root aphids are gone for good! So far it seems to me as if they have gone, fingers crossed. Hard to check and be 100% certain though so one more dose as a precaution I feel is worth it.

You get those everywhere.. builders, grow shops... something over 200 rand, battery backup build in, eskom not bugging at all. I have 3 running for 1.5 years non stop.. no issues

Banana 1 week hanging, storage room goes dark, rh50-60%, temperatures in there go from 17 to 25°C Canopy now, the banana took quite a lot of space Zkittle 1, signs of fade coming on with a bit of nute burn Zkittle 2, quite a bit of fade on lower part of plant already, haven't looked at trichomes, will probably do so during the week. Zkittle 3, absolutely no fade yet, instead she's turning a little purple and like I said, small buds but best smells coming from her out of the 3. Super Lemon OG, also started to fade over the weekend.

Hey brother, I'll take a chance and are you asking about the wood vinegar? It's got a multitude of uses actually, my main need and use for this will be in order of preference... 1. For PM right up through flowering. 2. Foliar feed while doing the above, adding flavour, smell and amount of fruits, and or flower (used in Orchid's and farming) I will be doing the test runs and currently have one plant I've run 2 times, and running the third now, and was an issue with PM, so this will be a good in practice run. I shall also report on the flavors and we will all surely see the difference in my further grows. My honest, and transparent opinion as always to follow.

That QB can still be raised, so height is not a problem. Extra veg time will help ensure the ladies are established in the new pots and extra medium as well as allow them a bit more time to bulk up and grow a bit more before you flip - all in all, leading to a bigger and better yield Those days in flower seem to have helped push some nice growth as well, I love the tight node spacing and that will lead to some very nice stacking once they're back in flower. Personally, anything below that tight node stacking I would get rid of and remove completely before putting the plants back into flower. Basically anything below the yellow line. Reason being, there will be new growth in the next 2 weeks and then even more growth during the 3 week stretch. Anything below that line will be left at the bottom of the plant and will not receive optimal light and will likely end up as fluff. I find removing the bottom part of the plant not only helps with airflow, but also helps produce larger bud at the top where the plant is getting more light. It will also help force the plant to focus it's energy on new growth and less energy is spent maintaining the stuff at the bottom.

got a swizz shepherd and a miniature schnauzer that will be too greatful for that Be aware if you have dogs in the garden, I can't use bonemeal for outdoor gardening anymore, even in pots. The shepherd will have a bit of the pot and it's contents in every corner of the yard if there's bonemeal in it. I got a baboon skull and had a few different antelope skulls just chilling in the garden on pots and in beds, collected them from mountain walks and bundu bashing, didn't kill them myself, anyway they must be quite old and the dogs still seem to like them. the reason I had more was cause every now and then I come home and Leo, the shepherd, will have either burried one or is chomping on one. aaaaanyway. back to the topic, OUTDOOR PREPERATIONS super lemon OG cut took from my indoor run, got her well established over the winter, going into a 70L plastic pot. recycled FF premium soil with 30% of the 70L being worm castings and I threw in a hand full of DE, this has been standing for about 2 weeks. got a couple clones in the back there, but thinking of popping a seed in here, this is a 90L, recycled FF soil with the top 15-20cm a thick layer of wormcastings. also put a bunch of DE for any unwelcome softies. here I got another 100L pot with maybe 80L of recycled soil, but I don't think I have space for her, where she's standing now get's almost no sun and no wind. might just keep the soil for future

Bingo! fuck the relief you feel when you find the problem, and the contempt for oneself because you are the one at fault.... man i know that feeling all too well! Light is such a crucial factor to get right - for example, i am also running a setup at my dads place and building it up slowly. My dad bought an analogue pool timer with the dip switches, and i wasnt too keen on using it but he needed a timer so hey. turns out, this timer stops counting when there is no electricity, so the timer has been going off and on according to Eskom's schedule pretty much which has sent the plants into a semi reveg state because they have no cooking clue whats going on!! i am keen to see your ladies explode now that you have rectified your stuff!

what's up man, hope all is well your side I don't even have a automated watering system, but I have bins full of pipes, different adapters and connectors, inline filters, gromets.... can't toss it all cause I might still use it, but it's all there cause I tried to plan out a irrigation system off the top of my head and kept having to build little puzzles in the shop when I'm buying the stuff and still end up buying shit I never needed! just wana drop a 2c here, if you looking at automating your water schedule don't cheap out on a irrigation systems. having weak connections and end up with leaks or having to redo the whole thing because of small miscalculations is just headaches ontop of headaches. I helped set up a irrigation system for a protea farm, 9 hectares, we didn't want to bring in too much technology so with a little permaculture background and know how we set the whole thing up to work with gravity only and eneded up with 9bar pressure in the pipes when the dams are full. worked with Bergrevierbesproeiing in Paarl, they're like a middle man who stock all the needs for any irrigation setup you have in mind, different brands and "set layouts" and a bunch of super smart people who will advise you on what the best options might be for your situation. don't know what area you're in, but there are quite a few big time irrigation companies around as we are in farm country and it's big business around here, maybe check in your area and have a chat with some of the real smart irrigation guys who know all the products and work with these things all day everyday. buying the wrong thing and having to drive back and forth and putting your whole project on hold cause you need components and all that is something to try avoid from the start... I wish someone told me this back when I wasted all my time and money like that, I just write it off a school fees

They are cruising along beautifully now, just slowly feeding home made inputs that my friend @anotherzolkop (Instagram only atm) made for us. Finally figured out my camera settings as well, super crisp pictures to come from now on!

Out with the old and in with the new . Haven't grown ANY Cheese yet , one on the right is a Super Cheese and left my old time favourite Orange Kush Cake. Day 29 of flower , can't see any major difference's but then again I don't have a eye for that . They all got the same feeding as last week and then just rainwater when they needed. Basically 80% of the time they get water 2cm from the rim of the pot and 2 time's a week they get a little close to the stem. Again no growth differences with the soils . I have the same problem! I found that working with the 12hrs cycle if the loadshedding happens within the first 6hrs of lights on then I leave the timer where it's at so it can complete the 12hrs lights on cycle. if the loadshedding happens in the last 6 hrs of lights on then I move the timer over so the plant gets only 8-10 hrs of light. my thoughts where that switch on and off, on and off, on and off, causes much more stress to the plant than to rather just give it an extra 2hrs of darkness... so basically when loadshedding happens during last 6hrs of lights on, then my plants go on "10/14" cycle for that day. if loadshedding happens during lights out. no problem. I been thinking of getting those magneto LEDs that plugs into the wall and comes on automatically when the loadshedding kicks in, but I haven't seen enough stress on the ladies to encourage me to get those. plus, you will still have to remember to go move the timer, because if the timer stands for 2hrs and you provide light during that time without moving the timer, that will mean you giving the plants 14hrs of light, which will surely send them into reveg. so I leave the magneto LED option, it will make me lazy

Agreed, now is not the time to be growing weed outdoors... the time is here to start ...well... finish prepping your outdoor for the new season which is here month end buy some soil amendments from your nursery. a nice bag of bone meal, and a few soil additives to rejuvenate your soil and get you ready for what is to come.

Eish brother! That plant looks min stoked hey. As mentioned above, the cold, less sunlight and high humidity is not doing the plants any favours. Wait until end September ish and give it another go. I can testify that attempting an outdoor grow in Winter is just a las and waste of seeds.

As a late comer to this poll, am I allowed to suggest our own soil, Thrive Living Soil from www.thrivecentre.co.za ? We tend to find that a lot of soil producers try to throw the kitchen sink into a soil, without really understanding what elements do what. The whole "bullshit baffles brains" approach. So, for instance rock dust can stall your plants if you haven't also included indigenous microbes collected during the winter months. That is because indigenous soil microbes move deeper down in the soil layers during winter, in order to decompose the tougher mineral matter, versus more usual organic matter in summer months. Some of the key components to get right are obviously your base NPK ratio. We aim for around 6:3:2 with a strong and sustained Nitrogen boost for initial growth, and then a slower and more sustained release of Phosphorous and Potassium for fruiting and flowering. Getting the timing right is important and that's where the inoculated biochar comes into play. It's also important that the composting process introduces living, microbial matter into the soil food web, and that it finds a home in the biochar, establishing a symbiotic relationship with the plant roots. A good living soil should give you at least 2 full strong growths without refeeding with compost and/or organic fertilisers. Although you really want to be feeding and fertilising your soil, and not the plant i.e. the plant needs to talk to the soil for what it needs, and not let the human try and force feed the plant. We are exceptionally lucky in that our soils have excellent natural mycelium and perfect pH for cannabis, developed over thousands of years in Hogsback. That is something that no soil producer can ever reproduce on their own. We also produce most of our own amendments, such as our oak and bamboo biochar (Japanese style) which also gives us superb wood vinegar. This is not that well known in South Africa but wood vinegar is probably your number one all-round Natural insecticide and fungicide. As far as I know we are the only ones producing it in SA, as not that many have sustainable oak and bamboo resources. It is Nature's own plant immune booster, root growth stimulant and flavour enhancer. You can read more about it at www.woodvinegar.org

Most harvested today and yesterday, and a full sanitize of the room and floor and tent and floors, and fans and every single thing in there Tomorrow the others come in treated IPM. The Nirvana Sunset Sherbet Cookies will come the weekend, and then the new SSC and Mad Berry stay.

They seem to be doing a bit better. Although the temps in the tent were below 10c a lot this last week. They had two good feedings with molasses also, so I think this has contributed to them doing better.
